Question: ESS Addresses Message Area

Dear Gurus,
I'm using SAP Standard Delivered Addresses for JAVA WebDynpro essauaddr~sap.com. It has 4 navigation which are Overview, Edit, Review and Completed.
When running this services in the portal, in the Review Screen, it has a message at the top "Verify the Address data below". I need to make changes to this message. I've searched the *.xlf files inside component controller and also view controller for the Review and also other navigation. But I couldn't find this message. The message pool also didn't have this message.
Can you tell me how to make the change to this message?

ESS Address Service - Area Code in Telephone Number Defaults to 000

Hi Gurus -
Our business noticed that when creating a new address using the US ESS Address service, the area code defaults to 000 in the telephone number (field AREAC) if there is not a value already in that field. Has anyone else's business complained about this? Does anyone know how to get rid of that default?

Thank you for your response. We have not modified the address infotype in the backend R/3 system and do not want to modify it. Are you saying that a modification to the table 0006 would be needed and make it CHAR instead of NUM for AREAC?

ONNAVIGATE event of Message Area

Hi,
today i´ve got a question concerning the message area UI element. On my view I´ve one oif this. What I want to do now is to react on the ONNAVIGATE event.
I thought this event is triggered everytime the user clicks a message which is displayed as a link? But unfortunatley the event handler isn´t processed.
Anybody knows when this event occurs? Could it be that the message ha to be a specific type?

In the meantime i´ve found a parameter for the REPORT_ATTRIBUTE_MESSAGE method of the message manager called ENABLE_MESSAGE_NAVIGATION. Setting this value to true seems to have no effect. The event ONNAVIGATE still isn´t triggered.

what they were doing in that view is raising a t100 message with method report_attribute_t100_message with parameter enable_message_navigation = abap_true.
Then on click of message event onNaviagte will be triggered which has code something like this
data l_message type if_wd_message_manager=>ty_s_message.
l_message = wd_this->message_manager->get_message_for_id( message_id ).
Here they were fetching the details of message which was clicked on, you can write your own logic.

Could you please clarify you have two email addresses [email protected] and [email protected] each with it's own password and you want these delivered to differnt OS X user accounts or seperate folders within Mail?

Windows Live mail - Imported sent messages are incorrectly displaying destination address

I imported Windows live mail messages from XP to 8.1... everything is ok except for the fact that the "Sent" messages are listed as sent to "the owners address" which is really the "source" address for all these old sent messages....Client
needs these back to how they were on the XP machine... This is a result of importing using the import tool method from the file menu, and the same result after I did it manually by dragging old files into the new "Windows live mail" sub-directory
(sent folder).... I think its a setting or something I need to change so I can either redo it....

My sent text messages are received, but are from my email address rather than my phone number since updating to iOS 7.

Fellow iPhone users have complained that my text messages are not longer associated with my phone number. Instead, they see my texts messages as from my email address.
The problem started after I updated to iOS 7. How can I resolve this? I would rather not continue to confuse friends/family when they receive a text message from an email address they do not recognize when it was in fact sent from my phone.

I think it's odd that the default setting is now your email rather than your phone, however... Very confusing for me and other iPhone users I know.

This is with iMessages only.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and below the Start New Conversations From, select your cell phone number instead of your Apple ID email address.

ESS's LeaveRequest Message Area Modification

Hi,
I'm working on ESS's LeaveRequest application. There is a request to change the Message Area (which display error, confirmation msg etc), due to it's position in the browser was messed up if viewing with different monitor's resolution.
1. The message area is not in the ess/lea source codes. Which DC's source code that i need to get in order to change Message Area?
2. Any suggestion on how to solve the Message Area's position issue, to make it same acroos the different monitor's resolution?
Any help would be much appreciated. Point would sure be awarded for helpful info.

Question about iMessage retrieval when messages are visible with "Search" feature

Hello everyone,
Today when I got off of work, I noticed that over 1,000 iMessages from my girlfriend had been deleted, dating as far back as when I purchased my iPhone 4 in June. Of course, I am in the process of freaking out, as we had some great conversations in there that I would like to save. The last time I backed up my iPhone was in September.
The thing is, when I search for her name with the iPhone "Search" function, all of those conversations appear as if they should be in the iMessage list, but they are not. Is there anyway for me to exploit this and restore these iMessages onto my phone?
I'm an Air Force pilot in Texas and don't get to see her much, so I would love to be able to save these messages. I also went to school for electrical engineering, and I'm stumped.

Unfortunately, not that I'm aware of. The cached data you are seeing in Spotlight search is separate from the messages data on your phone, and you can't restore from one to the other.
Messages are, however, included in the iPhone backup (whether done with iTunes or iCloud). If these messages were on your phone when you last backed up, restoring to the entire backup should recover them.

Is there screen control at the Subtype level for ESS Address in ECC 6.0?

Hello Developers,
The Dynpro view for adding/maintaining ESS Address information requires certain fields to be entered regardless of the type of Subtype (ex. Permanent Address or Work Address).
It's ok for our Permanent Address subtype to require certain fields such as City, State, and Postal Code, but we don't want these same fields to be required for our Work Address subtype.
Is there a way to control this for individual subtypes?

This was already tried and didn't work.
Running a debug session, I can determine that the message is coming from the back-end SAP system. I can also see that these fields are flagged as Required on the back-end but due to the complexity of the code I haven't been able to determine what table this is read from.
The IMG view for "Infotypes - country-specific settings" apparently doesn't control this either but I'm hopeful that there is a screen control that will allow me to remove the "Required" setting.

How Text Messages Are Stored on Palm Centro and possible recovery

I come from an extensive IT and programming background with emphasise on databases. I need some high level understanding of the text messaging system on a Plam Centro system with ATT.
Questions are related to Recoverying Deleted Text Messages
1. Do all incoming and outgoing messages get written to the messages_database.pdf on a Plam Centro (ATT)?
2. When a message is deleted, would it be correct to say that the message is not physically deleted but just that a record pointer in the database (messages_database.pdb) is reset so the messages appears to be deleted?
Why I ask, is that I see a many many requests for people (myself included) of wanting to recover deleted text messages. (i.e. my 16 daughter will not email now becuase we check email but she does text unknown people constantly and it makes it very hard to keep her safe). When she syncs her phone with her computer, the messages_database.pdb file is in the backup directory and if you open it with a text editor (notepad.exe) you can see only messages that have not beeen deleted. She usually deletes all her text messages. There is A LOT of extra data that appears to be encrypted and is not readable.
Is it possible that the text messages are there but just that the database record pointers hve been reset OR are Plam text messages written to RAM some how; although that does seem to be the case, since when you sync, the messages_database.pdb files has any and all messages that have not deleted.
It woul be VERY valuable (and I think profitable) if someone very high level knowledge of the messages_database.pdb file could write a PC application that would alloow you to undelete the text messages. I know there are programs out there that can do this on SIM cards on systems that write the text messages to the sSIM card, but it is my understanding that messages are not stored on the SIM card but in RAM.
Can any high level technical Palm programmer shed some light on this for me and let me know if there is a way to recovery deleted Text Messages on a Palm Centro?

I had the same problem.
1.Search for a program call filez.prc (give your address I can send you) copy it to a memorycard. btw [email protected]
2. Copy it to the palm device(it works on any) activate the program on the palm chk rom at the top and chk all message database and smstxt and also some have 0000behind em. note the sizes as the older ones are larger and copy them to the card.
3. to view em use microsoft word and use recover txt from any file I think it is called. You will be able to see detail but be careful as it sometime displays truncated or mixed but you will be able to see most txt clearly.

ESS apps: messages does not appear

I am launching the standard ESS WD java application and the warning/exception/validation messages are not shown. there is no personalization done on the iviews. i have checked bank/address iviews.
Any ideas?

ESS Address - Postcode

Hi All,
We have a requirement coming in from the client to default the fields in ESS -Address (for UK/GB), based on the user input post code using the available post code mailing list.
Do we need to go in for an entirely new custom development or this could be achieved by any other way.
Any suggestions are welcome.

Sorry, default the field would mean default the field values based on the Post Code selected.
This is similiar to may web based applications (in UK that I have seen example :Council Tax payments wherein one can mention the Post Code and is presented with the house numbers available at that postcode)
The question is, can this be achieved by configuration (somewhere) or there is a dire need of a custom implementation.
Not sure if someone has implemented the same using Royal Mail Mailing List.

ESS addresses dropdown UI element behaviour?

Hi,
On the ESS addresses screen we have a roadmap buttons like previous, review, save. When I view the address screen I see country dropdown defaulted to readonly mode to the correct country full name(e.g. Australia) then I click on Review button I see "AUS" as the country selection in the Review screen then I click Save the values are correctly saved in the backend.
The issue is when I click Review button and then click previous button I see AUS on the country dropdown UI element not full country name (e.g. Australia), then I click Review button I get error message saying "Country key AUS is not defined", obviously the reason I think is that key is set in the value dropdown by standard SAP coding. What can I do here to fix this? Is this OK to change because I'm trying to correct the standard coding here? Please suggest if this is something easy to fix?
I have already made some customisation to addresses screen, so there is not a problem if this is a easy fix to resolve.

Thanks. Resolved by setting the initial Australia country code to the new context attribute and then in the modifyview method set this context value always to the dropdown selected key. Looks like this is a bug in the standard DC.
