Question for Apple Discussions Staff re deletion of my post

My macbook died and it had become vital to my daily function. It contained important documents, emails, and much more.
My post was about a working solution to access the hard drive, especially on the day of new years eve. The information posted could be of great benefit to other Mac owners and censorship does them a disservice.
I don't have the luxury of having a second Mac, although I did, a Macbook air, that was sold to a friend.
Please review my post and advise on how it can be reworded as to not violate the EULA.

apple moderators do not care to assist me when I ask for help, hours later.
Apple Discussion moderators can not & do not answer questions in the technical forums. Occasionally they will respond in this Feedback forum.
Apple Discussions is designed to a be a User to User community support portal. There are Apple Employees that work in the forums, but they are mainly here for moderation purposes. The bulk of the help and answers come from community members like yourself who are passionate about Apple products.
There are Hosts, identified with the Purple Apple next to their alias and Apple employees who are identified with the silver Apple. Any Apple employee posters are generally here on a volunteer basis outside of their normal job duties.

  • Contact Apple Discussions Staff

Hello, is there a way to contact Apple discussions staff? I think I may have inadvertently posted something that I shouldn't have posted, and I would like to ask them about it. Is there a way to contact them?
    Thanks a lot

I got an email from Apple stating that my post was deleted due to an link which I shouldn't have posted. I just wanted to apologize to Apple for posting the link in question. I was mainly fearing that I may be banned from Apple discussions.
Once again, I am sorry for posting the link that I posted. I promise it will not happen again.

  • Issue with setting up an account for Apple Discussions

Off and on for 4 or 5 years I have posted questions or responded to them the in PowerBook G4 15" Titanium section. Then a couple of weeks ago I tried to log in and was informed that my Apple ID had been disabled for security reasons. I then created a new Apple ID and password and had no difficulty logging in with that. However, to post in the Apple Discussions I was prompted to create a new account for that purpose. When I filled in the fields, checked the box agreeing to the conditions, and clicked the Submit button, I got no error message, but the "Create New Account" screen reloaded and I still couldn't post. Clicking login just brought up the same screen again. After trying and failing to create a new posting account off and on over a period of a week I finally went to the Seattle Apple Store to see if they could help me. The first employee kindly went through the steps with me three times with the same baffling result. Finally a second employee helped me and was successful on his third try (I thanked him profusely!). However, even he could not identify the problem because no error message ever appeared. Was I trying to use an alias that didn't work for some reason? Does the Other Computer Information field need to be filled in even though it looks optional because it doesn't have an asterisk? Is the secret to get help at an Apple Store? All just FYI.

Thanks, jpfresno. The Apple Store guy also suggested that the alias I wanted might already be in use, but evidently that wasn't the case.
At this point I should clarify that my account issues have been fully resolved. The point of my post is a larger issue--usability of the Create New Account screen. The fact that neither I nor two Apple Store employees could figure out why attempting to create a new account for Apple Discussions repeatedly failed was due to lack of feedback after clicking the Submit button. I would normally expect to see a message like "This alias already in use" or "This field must be filled in" but there were no messages of any sort.

  • Security question for Apple ID

Why would the security question for Apple ID be different to those I answered when I set up the account.

You need to contact Apple to get the questions reset. Click here, phone them, and ask for the Account Security team, or fill out and submit this form.
Whichever method you use, you probably won't get a response until the 26th. If you absolutely must make a purchase before then, create a new Apple ID; you won't be able to transfer previous purchases or iTunes Store credit to it.

  • Question for Apple: When do we get "Trackpad Click" in Boot Camp???

Parallels has it. VMWare Fusion has it. Why can't Boot Camp do 'trackpad click'???
I'm buggered if I can work out what was actually UPGRADED in BC 2.0 -- seems to work exactly the same as the beta versions.

    Question for Apple
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html/
And FWIW, I hate trackpad click. Whenever I try to help someone on a laptop which has it on by default, I end up clicking on everything when I'm only trying to move the mouse pointer. So I'm ecstatic that Apple is smart enough to turn it off by default. But I agree that people who have been trained to use this horrible feature ought to have it as an option. But I'm hoping Apple provides the option of focus-follows-mouse for Mac OS X first.

  • HT5312 Hi, i'm forget answer for may security questions for Apple ID and can't reset it

HI. i'm forget answer for may security questions for Apple ID and can't reset it, after verified email adress the link for reset questions is not available.

The reset link will only show if you have a rescue email address on your account - if you've just added an address then it will be an alternate/secondary email address, which is a different setting/address on your account (a rescue email address can only be added by answering 2 of your questions).
You will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
When they've been reset you can then use the steps half-way down the page that you posted from to add a rescue email address for potential future use

I forgot my security questions for Apple store

This is the Reply I received, and it worked for me:
I'm sorry that you weren't able to reset your security questions. I know it must be frustrating not being able to remember the answers, and I will certainly get you to the correct team to help.
For security reasons, you'll need to contact our Account Security team.
You can speak to an Account Security Advisor by calling our AppleCare technical support team. To find the right phone number for your country, see this article:
Contacting Apple for support and service
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
When you call, ask to speak to the Account Security team.
They will need to verify  two of the following: Device serial number( if one is set up with your account information), one security question answer, and/ or a credit card number you have on file.
****( Add if Credit card is not on file) **
I see that you do not have credit card information on your account, you can add this by :
    1) Make sure you are using the latest version of iTunes. It can be downloaded free of charge from the Apple website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download
    2) Verify that you have an active network connection and open iTunes.
    3) From the Store pull-down menu at the top, select Sign In.
    4) Enter your account name and password then click Sign In.
    5) From the Store menu, select View My Account.
    6) Enter your account name and password again, then click View My Account.
    7) On your Apple Account Information page, click Edit Payment Information. Here you can add your card.
You may remove this after speaking to the Account Security team, and verifying your account with them.

  • What do I do if I forgot my security questions for Apple ID.

What do I do if I forgot my security questions for Apple ID and the email did not send. Help asap thanks

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

  • I forgot my Security Questions for Apple ID

You'd think I'm going to ask for a link on how to reset my security questions.. well, no. It's not that simple. I know how to reset these security questions and I've apparently been "Sent" the email on instructions to reset my security questions. But here's the twist - they never get sent. I've clicked the link on resetting 11 times (give or take a few) and it has said every time "Email sent, instructions on how to reset your security questions are included" or something. I've checked my inbox, my trash, my spam, and I've even changed the email on my Apple ID and tried sending it there, but nothing has happened either. I have $15 on my account that's blocked and I want to spend it. Help, please.

If you don't have a rescue email address set, then you're SoL.
If you do, then reset your info and check in there.
If not, you'll have to contact iTS, and wait for God knows how long for Apple to complete its pending investigation in this SNAFU.

  • I forgot security questions for apple I'd

Am trying access iTunes to purchase music it asked me. For apple I'd and password I did but then it asked for security question answers. What do I do

answer the security question.... if you answer correctly then you should be straight and go to your profile. Im having the same issue but the thing is i set up my security questions so long ago, i dont remember my answers.... The answers that i know are correct do not match what i gave them when i signed up an account. Difference between then and now is that I am sober now and wasnt then. I cant remember what BS i answered them with back then....

  • Questions for Apple at PMA - initial PDF

This is a followup to my previous post:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=376287&tstart=15
where I asked for questions from the Aperture community -and got a lot of interesting questions!
I have distilled these questions plus some of my own into a document I'll bring with me to PMA in the morning and base my interview around. While I am not sure who will be there or how many questions any of the Apple employees can answer, I'll get what I can and report back.
Look here for a link to a PDF of questions I am taking to Aperture tomorrow at PMA:
