Question for drag'n'drop...

Hi, I am not sure whether my BlackBerry Pearl is the 8100 or 8200 series--I bought it refurb with no booklets or anything. It came with various cords, like a USB cord and a Power Cord, though.
Anyway, I hit up the http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/ page, and can't really tell which software package I need to download in order to handle my BlackBerry Pearl from my Windows XP laptop PC.
All I want to do is to be able to drag and drop--like via Windows Explorer--the different video files, image files, or song/.mp3 files between my phone and my computer. Whenever I connect my phone to my laptop now, my computer lets me know in the bottom right corner in the taskbar that it "Found new hardware" and even recognizes it as "BlackBerry".
However, when it moves to the next step to ask me for drivers, and I get the classic choice out of the two choices "Let my computer find the best drivers" or "I have certain drivers I'd like to use"; when I choose the first option, it gets stuck looking for drivers and never finds anything.
So I figure blackberry.com has something I an download that will let me mediate between my phone and computer with these files, I am just unsure, and want to be sure I get the right one? Can anyone help me out with this? I'd appreciate it, thanks. God bless.

So...with your media card inserted and the settings the way you state, you do not see the Media Card total/free space stats on the device? That would indicate to me that your device isn't seeing the media card at all...which would then preclude the desktop software from seeing it either. Odd...
What should happen is that, with a Media Card inserted and fully recognized by the device, windows will have 2 additional drive letters when you tether...one for device memory and the other for the media card.
The first thing I'm wondering is if something is amiss with compatibility between your media card and your device OS...check this article to be sure that you are using a media card that is compatible with your OS:

Beyond that, you might want to try several things.
1) Batt-pull reboot -- with power on, pull the battery, wait a minute, then insert the battery and power up. See if things are remedied.
2) Disable media card support on the device and remove the media card. So a batt-pull reboot (note -- do not substitute a reboot you may have to do in order to remove or insert the media card...power up from that and then do an independent power-on batt-pull). Then make sure that the device memory stats are correct. If good, make sure that the device memory is recognized and usable by Windows as a USB drive.
3) Insert a media card. Do not enable media card support. Do a batt-pull reboot. Check again that everything about device memory is still OK.
4) Enable media card support. Do a batt-pull reboot. Check that both memory stats are displayed on the device. See if Windows now can recognize the media card as well as the device memory.
You should not have to move things between device memory and your media card in order to transfer them to your PC. You should be able to navigate and manipulate both from windows as independent USB drives. What we need to narrow down is why yours won't do so...hopefully the steps above will help us narrow this down.

I have 9.0.1 on 2 pc's, both xp sp3. On 1 the 'open new tab' button is visible, on the other, the 'open new tab' button is not even available in the 'customize toolbar' menu for dragging and dropping. Why?

I used the same installation file, but on 1 pc, the 'open new tab' button is available in the 'customize toolbar' menu and can be dragged and dropped onto the navigation bar. On the other pc, the 'open new tab' button/icon is not even available for dragging and dropping. I uninstalled firefox completely, including settings and preferences, then reinstalled, but that did not correct the missing button.

Please try '''Restore Default Set''' in the '''Customize...''' window. If it's still not visible, one reason could be that the button is already placed on the toolbar but may be hidden behind another icon or toolbar.

A question about drag and drop

I have multiple images which can be dragged and dropped in a canvas. How can I get information about pictures into dataGrid, for instance the name and value (price) of an image? Currently my images are in array like this:

So the question is that how can I set and get the name and the value of an image when it is dropped on a canvas and that information to be shown in a separate datagrid? Should I be using objects or classes? This is the drop function:

There's a separate empty datagrid in my application and the main intention is to make the information of each image (those dragged and dropped onto a canvas that is a designing area) being shown in the datagrid's columns Name - Quantity - Price. Those values should be obtained from each image but I'm currently unaware of the technique how the information could be added to the images.
For instance Example1.png has a price value of 150€ and when that image is moved onto a canvas, the name and price should be shown in the datagrid and thus there should be simultaneous changes in the Quantity-column when I move the same image onto a canvas many times. Those images can also be removed from the canvas area and then the quantity should decrease. Obviously that same function should work on other images we have in a menu from where the images are dragged and then moved and dropped in the canvas. If I move Example1.png four times there should be Example1 in the name column, 4 in the quantity column and 600€ in the price column and of course all of them in the same row.
Pay attention to the code I put into the first post. You may suggest better options how I can sort-of-import (couldn't invent better term) images to the application.
Later there will be a row in the end of the datagrid/chart where the total price of every object that are moved on the canvas should be shown but that's another story.
Hopefully this made some sense to the whole thing.

Select All in a table does not work for Drag and Drop

Hi. I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.2 but have also reproduced in 11.1.1.3.
I am trying to implement drag and drop rows from one table to another. Everything works fine except when I do a Select All (ctrl-A) in a table, the table visually looks like all rows are selected, but when I try to click on one of the selected rows to drag to the other table, only the row I click on is dragged.
I tried setting Range Size -1, fetch mode to FETCH_ALL, content delivery to "immediate" but nothing works.
I even have reproduced not using a view object but just a List of beans with only 5 or 10 beans showing in the table.
Does anyone know how to get Select All to work for a Drag Source?

How to set default object placement & wrap for drag-and-dropped files

I am working on a document into which I need to drag-and-drop a number of files from the Finder: JPGs, PDFs, and so on. Each time I drag a file into Pages, by default its placement is set as "Floating (doesn't move with text)" and "Object causes wrap" is active.
I would much prefer that the default settings be "inline" and "object does not cause wrap," so my drag-and-dropped images will appear within the text and move with it.
Is there a way to change this default setting?

Niel's suggestion is good. You might also try posting your question in the Tiger Server forums. I'm sure Tiger Server has several ways of dealing with this.

What is the policy for drag-and-drop in training mode?

Hi,
I've captured an application in training mode. It contains one drag-and-drop action which obviously is done in full motion recording.
Only thing is, this doesnt work when you then do the simulation as a user.
Can drag-and-drop working in this mode? It seems not.
Can anyone advise?

I'm guessing that you mean to ask if one is able to force a user to perform a drag-and-drop as part of a simulation?

Any fixes for drag and drop not working in WAD with IE9?

I have exactly the same issue as is described in WAD Problem - can't modify and Drag&drop in Web App Designer (WAD) doesn't work but unfortunately I don't have the option of going from IE9 back to IE8. Has anybody found a fix for using drag and drop in WAD with IE9?

This issue I am getting in Web Application Designer itself.In WAD 7.X ANALYSIS TABLE do we have any option from which we can disable drag and drop of cells because it is destroying the view of report output .
In WAD 7.X we have option of Activate Navigation in ANALYSIS TABLE but if we disable this our context will get disable and it shows the default Browser context menu.We have not provided any such options so that its original layout will retain back .
The solution they have mentioned to Disable Drag and Drop is not available in WAD ,its available in Analyzer.

Why can't Mac users, who have multiple devices, have device icons for drag and drop, on desktop rather than iCloud, iTunes, etc. ?

I want drag and drop in the form of icons on my iMac, from all my other Apple devices. I don't want to have to go through iCloud, iTunes and DropBox.

What are you other apple devices?
For an all Mac OS X set, you could write an applescript to perform the task.

Help on Final Step for Drag and Drop Exercise

Does anyone know the best way to create a test item where the learner has to place a check mark in the correct cells and hit submit to succeed.
I was using a drag and drop but I am lost on step three.
I am using the check marks as drag sources, square shapes located in all cells will the correct cell/box assigned as the correct drop target.
The issue is when I get to step three, how do I allow the user to drag ANY checkmark (drag target) to the correct cell/box (drop target). When I get to step 3, I have to assign each individual checkmark to ONE specific cell/box and I want the learner to be able to drag any checkmark, as long as it is dropped in a designated drop target.
If there is another way I should approach this test item instead of drag and drop, I am open to any suggestions.
Here is an example:

I purchased the Master Widget from Infosemantics a few months back but between my day job and my schooling for my ID Certification from UC Irvine Extension, I have not had the time to figure it out.
I thought there would be an easier way but as usual, nothing is a quick fix anymore. Even when you think your just missing a simple step.

How do I get the student's answers to show on the next slide for drag and drop interaction?

I'm working with Captivate 7 on a computer running Windows 8.
I created a simple, one-to-one drag and drop activity using the Drag and Drop Wizard.
I want the student's answers to show on the next slide. Specifically, I want the drop source to show with the drag target that the student connected to the drag source. This way the student can review his/her answers while the program discusses the correct answers.
Is there anyway to do this?

* You see the orange (on Linux gray) Firefox button if the Menu Bar is hidden (View > Toolbars > Customize or right-click a toolbar).
* If you need to access the hidden Menu bar then press F10 or hold down the Alt key to make the Menu Bar appear temporarily.

Shared mailboxes and tagging for drag'n'drop

We're faced with a rather difficult problem regarding shared mailboxes, let me give you a scenario:
Alice, Bob and Ron each have their own mailbox and a shared (ShareMB01). The shared mailbox is connected to a document management system which collects mail and attached files from this mailbox. What I want to know is, how can I set it up so I see which
user has moved a mail to ShareMB01? Is there a way to change/modify the email header or subject so that it includes the name of the person moving it? We cannot simply go by recipient, because Ron might send to Alice and CC Bob, and Bob was the one who moved
it.
Am I making any sense here?

is there some Drag and Drop functionality in the SDK? Can objects be made draggable and can objects (e.g. a simple rectangle) recieve drops and send 'onDrop' events ?

How do I view an FTP site in Windows Explorer for drag and drop file upload in Firefox?

In Internet Explorer you have the drop-down menu option called '''"Page"''' (located below the address bar, on the right-hand side). In the options listed you can''''' "Open FTP side in Windows Explorer"'''''.
I cannot seem to locate a similar option within Firefox 4.0.
