Question for Illustrator or PHOTOSHOP

Friends,
I have spent the last 10 minutes searching for the Photoshop forum but cannot locate it.
In the past, I used Final Cut Pro's Motion 3 to change the various 3D axis of pictures, like this:

QUESTION:
Does PhotoShop CS 5.5 allow this?
Does Illustrator CS 5.5 ?

Both. It's jsut a transformation, there's no 3D there. It's distorted to perspective then rotated, that's all. You can accomplish that distortion in either application.

Never heard of ignore effscts for this.
Couple way to solve this
CMD Click on the already selected top element, to select the element underneath.
You may have used the visiblilty eyeball in the appearance pallette to temporarily hide the drop shadow
You can use CMD 3 to hide selected top elements, make the change you need, then Opt CMD 3 to unhide
For #1 to work, don't click too fast, or else your clicks will register as a double click rather than a 2nd clikc (depending on what you have set in you Keyboard preferences).
I mention #3 cause this is a very useful tool for cleaning up and grouping complex documents, when you want to select multiple elements.

Retina support for Illustrator and Photoshop

It's been announced in June, but in December the products have not been updated yet. They're not unusable so far, but working everyday with products that look crippled (and paying monthly for them) is kind of annoying.
I know that it must take a lot of work, but is there any update on the release date that is not "when is done" or "read the months old announcements where they say 'when it's done'"?
Also, is any update including retina planned for After Effect and Premiere?

Cannot place in illustrator or photoshop from bridge

Don't see file>place commands for illustrator or photoshop in bridge...
Just dreamweaver and indesign
Also.. lost all photo processing command under the tools menu.

I had a similar problem. It occurred after I installed the 2014 apps and uninstalled CC versions. Apparently, InDesign and Illustrator CC2014 (and possibly others?) use the previous CC startup script files (on a Mac: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Startup Scripts CC), which are deleted if you uninstall the original CC apps. Luckily, we have multiple installations of CC in our office, and I was able to copy the missing files from another machine. I didn't try it, but you might be able to uninstall, then reinstall the apps (Illustrator and PhotoShop in your case) to replace the missing files. I found another post that seems to indicate this will work.

When I tried to upgrade my CS 6 Illustrator and Photoshop through my Adobe Updater, I kept getting the following errors:
Adobe Illustrator CS6 Update (version 16.0.3)
Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7
Adobe Photoshop 13.0.2
Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7
Please advice on how to overcome the error.

Which wacom have illustrator and photoshop

Hello,
I am planning to buy wacom tablet for touch designing.
Since, i'm new to it, could anyone guide me which model would work best for illustrator and photoshop both?
Does all Wacom have these built in softwares? or only some specific ones?
And which version would be more comfortable and easier to operate.

I am having issues with my logo resizing Illustrator or Photoshop?

I have a website and I am wondering with Adobe Creative Cloud do you reccommend I pay for illustrator or photoshop. It seems that when my friend resizes with photoshop to a larger size it pixelates. Is illustrator better for logos in general or does adobe have a product reccommended instead of illustrator? Thanks for your help I am pretty new to Adobe but their products are awesome.

The important thing is that logos should be vector based to allow unlimited scaling, not raster (pixel) based. The primary vector editing app is Illustrator. Photoshop is a raster image editor. It has some vector capabilities, but very limited compared to Illustrator.
If the logo already is a raster image file, there isn't much you can do except recreate it in Illustrator.

Is Illustrator (or Photoshop) the best path for this design project?

Forgive my ignorance on this issue.
I am thinking about creating a number of large banners (8 feet high by 3 feet wide) for a display.
I would like to take some scanned images of some historical mural paintings (out of copyright) and prepare them for large format printing.
Now these images are small, and probably quite poor in resolution. I would like to prepare (enhance?) these images so that they show fairly well on the large banners.
Furthermore, I will probably add some borders around them or at least some kind of neutral-colour field on the top and bottom of the image--so the actually printed image will probably be around 4 feet fight by 3 feet wide.
I thought about hiring a designer, but I would like to pick up the skills to do this myself, as I anticipate more banners in the future, and it would be good to learn this skill.
Willing to do take some courses in the appropriate software, and make this my first project perhaps.
Is Illustrator or Photoshop better for this? Or is there something else?

You may look at it this way (literally):
The crucial aspect is the relation between viewing distance and size.
The required number of actual pixels is proportional to the actual size and reversely proportional to the viewing distance.
In other words: if you look at a poster (or whatever) twice the size at twice the distance, exactly the same number of pixels is required.
In yet other words: if you view the artwork at a combination of size and distance that correspond to those intended for the final poster, you can see how it will appear.
In yet other words: the same proportion between size and distance results in the same viewing angle, so if your viewing angle is the same, whatever the size, you see what the final viewer sees.
This means that you may judge the artwork on screen or in small/moderate size print if you view it at the intended angle/relative distance.
The required resolution in PPI/DPI will then be reversely proportional to the size of the artwork while you work on it (10 times greater for a 1:10 scale and so on).
Obviosly, in addition, there are other concerns about required resolution (including which resolution is really effective in connexion with the kind of printing in question, and the desirability of smoothness versus roughness which depends on the artwork/effect/whatever in question). I believe you know all that.

I am trying to run my registered CS6 Design Standard programs for the first time after install. InDesign runs OK, but Illustrator and Photoshop will only run in trail mode. How do I activate those two?

I can't get my registered versions of CS6 Photoshop and Illustrator to run in full mode. I installed CS6 Design Standard online end of June (an upgrade from CS5.5), on my old MacBook Pro. I didn't run the programs then as I was waiting on arrival of new MacBook Pro. I migrated the programs from my old MacBook to the new, and today tried to run those programs for the first time. InDesign work OK (after an initial hiccup) but Illustrator and Photoshop will only run in trial mode, and won't let me save files. My CS6 Design Standard shows with it's registration in my Adobe Account. All seems in order, but Illustrator and Photoshop won't run in registered mode. Can you please help?

Please use the uninstallers to remove your current installation. They are located in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder. Once the uninstall is complete you will also want to run the CC Cleaner Tool. if you have a cc subscription, close ps > sign out and then back in to your cc desktop > open ps.

It seems the downloaded setup for InDesign has got corrupt.

I am trying to locate my serial numbers for the two creative cloud products? Illustrator and Photoshop.

We subscribed to Adobe Creative Cloud last October, purchasing a single copy of Illustrator and Photoshop.
The Web developer we had subsequently left the company, and I removed and re-assigned the products to our new Web developer in the Adobe Creative Cloud admin console and sent the 'welcome' emails to him.
He said the mails weren't sent, so I re-removed and re-added him in the console but although it states the welcome email has been sent, the user is still marked as pending?
James has fried to use the products, both of which show up as trial versions, asking for the serial numbers to be entered to unlock the full products & I don't have any record of them, nor can I find them under the CC profile?
I purchased the software through Softcat and received confirmation emails from Adobe that the products were activated and ready to download.
What have I done wrong?
All help welcomed!
