Question for N6300/ How to enlarge contact image?

I just purchased a N6300, going from a 6600, and it bothers me that it does not show a large picture of the person that is calling me, just a small thumbnail. This thumbnail was even bigger on the 6600, and the whole picture could be displayed with apps for S60 (Symbian). Is there a setting of some sort or Java app that can be used to enlarge this caller image when calling or such? 10x

No. On S40 phones you cannot run java apps in the background as you can do on S60.

When you create a page in Muse called "Home" or "Gallery" or other else, when you export your site as HTML you must have a file called "home.html", "gallery.html" or "other else.html". Remember in what page you putted the Gallery in Muse and edit it with notepad, wordpad or similar and find the code where the gallery is linked (search the name of one of your images, is the best way to find it) and replace the code with something similar like that:

I need to enlarge an image to go on A4 paper with a landscape orientation.

You're welcome.
What you did was known as "scaling". If there are enough pixels, you can change the print size with noticing anything wrong.
That's the best, because you are not adding or subtracting pixels, which is called "re-sampling".
If the scaling did not work then you would use Image Size to enlarge the picture by guessing what pixels to add. Not the best way to go, because you are adding information not in the picture to make it look better.
My Advice: If you have a camera, use the highest MP setting, shoot jpeg best quality, or even better RAW
If you scan, plan. 300 ppi is a good start and should give you plenty of pixels at A4.
That really the simple story. Read up to understand digital images.

FTP question for newbie -- How to access external volume?

I have set up an old Mac (running Tiger) as a server on my LAN; attached to this Mac are several Firewire disks. I want to use FTP (with retrospect Express) to automatically back up from another computer to these disks.
I can successfuly mount these Firewire disks using AFP on the other computer. But when I use FTP, I seem only to access the user account I use to log in. How do I get FTP to go those Firewire disks to transfer the backup files?
Please forgive me if this is a naive question... Thanks in advance for any advice!

To configure the FTP server in Tiger requires creating and editing certain files using the terminal application. So if you have no prior UNIX or command line experience you may find this tricky and you would need to read the man file for ftpd.
So I would suggest you try out PureFTP manager which is a front end application for an alternative FTP server.
I have used this Application and found it quite straightforward to use.

Lync for Mac - How to customize profile image

We are beginning to roll out Lync for Mac (and windows) and on the Mac side there doesn't seem to be a clear cut (easy) way to customize your icon like you can do in AIM, Yahoo Messenger, etc. Knowing that I will get a bunch of calls regarding this,
how exactly do you do it? I assume it's pointing to your contact in Outlook 2011, and I checked my contact and it has a custom picture there.
Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

I completely agree with you that M$ needs to make better Mac software - i'm having some major issues with Office 2011 especially Outlook 2011 - and that is definately not Apples fault
The reason i'm running on a Mac is due to customer demand - I'm an IT pro and more and more of my customers are introducing them as BYOD - however the OS does have very limited application support compared to a Windows system - hence Parallels and Windows

I do love that i can work on a customers VPN from the Windows side and keep the Mac side off the VPN so i can do research, browse internet, do mail and Lync etc. Really comes in hand when testeing Lync between two different organizations from one machine
I just had my first experience today dealing with Apple tech support - took me 1.5 hour to get to the right department and i had to INSIST on them gathering system information, they were going to wash their hands
After upgrading to 10.8 and latest build of Parallels 7, my machine will completely freeze from time to time
It could be 10 minutes into my work or 3 hours into my work
Apple is pointitng fingers at Parallels, since that is running all the time - and Parallels is pointing fingers at Apple because the whole OS is freezing
Apple however did finally say they would escalate, so now there is a two day wait for the escalation engineers to review my reports and data and they will then get back to me
I haven't seen a Windows machine freeze completely since before the NT days
that was one of the main features when NT came out that everything was isolated and an application would't take down the host OS
but the Mac OS is definately a lot more cute than Win, however right i have to forcefully restart my machine up to 5 times a day, making it very problematic to get any work done
and yes i still think it's a toy with it's own place in the market and we need Apple to keep MS honest
I really like both companies, and thank God we are all free to have our own opinions

How to Enlarge an Image from an Ipad.

I was sent an image from an ipad. It is only 320x240, 40kb and 72ppi.
I tried in CS6 to enlarge it but anything over the initial image size is deeply blurred using Image or canvas in Image dropdown.
Can this be resolved to enlarge to 4x6, 5x7,8x10 with in CS6?

Was this photograph taken with the ipad? There would surely be a much higher resolution version of the image available. Ask for the image at full resolution.
You are never going to make a decent image out so small a file.

While I'm bit of exhausted while fighting with those paths movement (see my other thread in this forum) - I'd like to ask maybe someone has code snippet, which shows how to draw a circle of N pixels/N mm/inches radius?
There is one helper function for that inside SDK samples:

but I'm just out of my mind for today what parameters should be provided and how many calls of it I should write.

Yes. By holding down the Alt. key, you should be able to zoom in and out with the mouse wheel.
You can also go to Edit > Preferences > General and checkmark "Zoom with Scroll Wheel".

Copy an ODS structure: In order to create a new ODS or something else? When creating a new ODS you can provide another ODS as a template...this will help you to make a 'copy' of the ODS structure.

How to disable sender images in Gmail app?

Hi all,
The recent update made a change in the Gmail app where it'll display an image for the sender in the main window. If you don't have an image for the sender (which is 100% the case for me), it displays the first letter of the sender's name in a big colored box.
A quick Google search shows there's a way of disabling this through the settings: http://www.androidcentral.com/how-turn-and-contact-images-new-gmail
However, the Gmail app on my Verizon Galaxy S3 doesn't have the "three dots" icon which opens the menu. Was this something Verizon removed for some reason? Any hints on how to turn off the big colored boxes? I find them annoying and they take up space for no reason.

There is no way to do that directly from Home Screen, however you can always get in the "Search: Internet and My Content" application, choose contacts and start to type phone number. You will get what you want.
