Question: How to Redact a selected area (not a whole page) across multiple pages?

Hello all,
I often have to work with large PDF Documents using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9, almost all of which are scanned PDF files.
As scanned documents often do, certain pages (and usually large page ranges) have blemishes or markings that I wish to redact (the most common of which are hole punch marks down the middle left hand side, or other markings at the top right, where I need my page numbers to be unobstructed). I can manually select the hole punch marks on each page separately, and then redact, however, such blemishes are always in the same spot across a number of pages.
Twice I have managed to select a particular area, then redact that area across a page range I specify using Adobe Acrobat 9. Of course, after having done it both times, I promptly forgot how I did it.
All of the forums talk about redacting entire pages across a page range - no one seems to need to redact only a specific selection of part of a page across a number of pages. Does anyone know how to do this in Adobe Pro 9? I know how to do it in Adobe Pro 8, but it appears to have been moved elsewhere in 9.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I think Adobe is aware we'd all like all adjustments to be localizable, but doing so is not "simple" given Lr's design (paraphrasing Eric Chan of Adobe). I mean, it's simple in a layers-based app, like Photoshop, but not Lr, due in part to performance considerations, and maybe other things.. If you want to weigh in for HSL, you can do it here:

Note: with a combination of colorization, white balance, and saturation adjustment, there is some limited capacity to "remix" local color.

How do I delete selected cells (not just delete its contents) in Numbers? In excel, this action would be followed by the option "shift cells up/left".

Excel may call that "deleting cells", but it's really just replacing the contents of the cell(s) with contentes of cells below or to the right of the ones "deleted." Numbers accomplishes the same task by moving the (contents of the) cells into place, replacing the cells to be "deleted."
In Numbers there are two ways to do this:
Select the cells whose content is to be moved in.
Drag the selected cells onto the top left one to be "deleted". Drop.
If the target cell is not in sight:
Select the cells to be moved.
Go Edit > Mark for Move (or press option-command-X)
Click on the top left target cell.
Go Edit > Move (or press option-command-V)

Dimensions set to Selectable are not selectable w/in Smart View Data Forms

When trying to use a data form by clicking "Select Form" in the Hyperion toolbar in Excel (not exporting from webspace), Dimensions that are defined as Selectable are not actually selectable within Smartview. Below is a portion of the script:

SelectablePOVList=P{***}.E{***.[Base]}.C1{***.[Hierarchy]}
Within the web, the form works fine and everything selectable is selectable. Within smart view, only Entity is selectable. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I have found this and its generally because the dimension is referenced in the column
i.e Year and period is displayed in the column.
In HFM you can select the members from the POV but when opening in SmartView you can't
Solution is to remove the dimension from the col or row.

Show the 'information' panel F8).
In the middle horizontal section, select 'pixels' on the left drop-down menu.
Use the rectangular marquee tool to select your area: the dimensions in pixels of the rectangle is shown under 'dimensions' on the right.
I think there are other ways to measure a line segment, but you could use the above measure by adjusting the rectangular marquee tools to both extremities of the segment,
- use the move tool to rotate the rectangle so that the diagonal measuring the segment is horizontal,
- move the rectangle to the left, and check validate, which creates another rectangle including the first one
- read the pixel dimension (L:) in the info panel like above.

As a workaround I was thinking of setting up one broadcast SSID for guests and one non-broadcast SSID for RADIUS assigned VLANs, however i'd prefer to have both broadcast due to numerous Vista and PDA connection issues.

That is what I would like to do; have one SSID and assign the users to different VLANs based on policy.
I have all the VLANs and subinterfaces set up correctly and working independently, but the VLAN assigment does not seem to work correctly.
If I do a "show dot11 association all-client" the RADIUS attribute appears to have altered the VLAN, but the device has no connectivity and cannot DHCP.
This is with 1130AG in autonomous mode and Microsoft IAS as RADIUS.
Apparently there may be a problem with mbssid and RADIUS assigned VLANs.

How Can I Get My Ratings and Playlists to Mirror Across Multiple Accounts?

I'm sharing my music across two accounts on my Mac by placing my iTunes folder in the Shared folder, with an alias to that in each User's Music folder. It works fine, but the User of the other account would like the benefit of all my Playlists, and would especially like to have all My Ratings.
How can I get My Ratings and Playlists to mirror across multiple accounts? I would've thought simply importing the <iTunes Music Library.xml> file would do it, but since we're both using the same iTunes folder, we must already be using the same XML file, right?

The answer about where the ratings, etc. are stored is not an easy one, but the best I can figure is that it is a combination of the iTunes Music Library.xml, the iTunes Library file, and the com.apple.iTunes.plist. Apparently, the com.apple.iTunes.plist (in the under User/Library/Preferences) references the other two files. If you close iTunes, take the com.apple.iTunes.plist out of the user's Library/Preferences folder and then reopen iTunes, you will see that all the ratings, play counts, etc. (track information) will have disappeared. If you close iTunes, replace the com.apple.iTunes.plist, then reopen iTunes, the track information will be restored. The playlists, which are not part of the track information, seem to function independently of the com.apple.iTunes.plist, but if you share the whole iTunes folder across accounts, this should include the playlists. When I back up my iTunes library to another folder, I back up a copy of the current com.apple.iTunes.plist from my User/Library/Preference folder. I think that the way this works across multiple accounts is that the com.apple.iTunes.plist reads track information from the other files in the iTunes folder, because if you throw away the com.apple.iTunes.plist from one user account, it affects all the other user accounts sharing the same iTunes folder.

How can i select multiple frames across multiple pages? I want my images to fit the frames by one click. I do not want to go through each page one by one . There must be some way to solve this.. or? Cant find a options that can do that so far?

You can't.
You can do it in Find/Change box. Set desired Frame Fitting Options in Object section and run find/change.

Need to select and move images across multiple pages...

Hi,
I am using Indesign CS2 on a Windows machine and have a 25 page document with 4-up photos (4"X6") on individual pages. I used the ImageCatalog javascript to load these images so I don't seem to have any control from the Master page. I would like to group and move these images to a different location on their own pages.
Do you know how to select these images across multiple pages? Or can a simple script be written to process this task?

A script can certainly do what you want to do--but you have to be a bit more specific. Do you want to move them to different pages in some predefined way, or do you just want to adjust them a bit on the pages they're already on?

Table not going across multiple pages

I have two simple side-by-side tables that I want to stretch across multiple pages when necessary by clicking the Add Another button object.
I think I've done everything necessary to have the table repeat on multiple pages:
1. My table is in a subform.
2. The subform is set to Flowed.
3. The table has Allow Page Breaks with Content
4. The table is not a group table
5. I have the Rows in Binding to Repeat Row for Each Data Item
What I do notice is that when I click on either Table and then click the Pagination tab in Object--- Pagination is greyed out
Can anyone offer any suggestions?

I would recommend using the authentication mechanism that's guaranteed by the servlet spec. If you do that, you can just call
request.getRemoteUser()
to get the user name across multiple pages.
If you want to use your own login scheme, you can create a new session object and map it to a user name somewhere in your app. Or you can just put the name of the user on the session. But the preferred way is to use the default authentication scheme defined by the spec.

I've mangaed to spread the image across multiple pages but I can't figure how to be able to print the pages have the edges line up successfully after cropping. Numbers 3.2.2
Instead of Menu > File > Export To, use Menu > File > Print...
That takes you to Print Preview.
In the Print Setup panel, Click on the Print... button lower right (it won't print yet).
That opens the Print Dialogue.
Click on the PDF Pop-Up Menu lower left.
Choose Open PDF in Preview or Save as PDF.
That will have page breaks and will be full sized.
Print from Preview.

How to view songs that are not in any playlist

I am using iTunes 6.04.
I want to be able to view songs in my Library that are not associated with ANY playlist. How can this be done? Please don't suggest to me upgrading to iTunes 7.02. (with every iTunes update, Apple makes is more difficult to do the things Apple doesn't want you to be able to do).

Run one of these scripts:
Not In Any Playlist will create a text listing of songs that are not in any playlist.
Not In Any Playlist To Playlist will put songs that are not in any playlist into a new playlist.
