"Question" I'm not entirely sure

I went to the beach yesterday. I had fun, and brought my iPod mini. Somehow, sand got into my pocket, and then into my iPod and ear buds. Now, the ear buds are blown. They do not play the music right any more, so I replaced them. But the real problem, and the one I am asking a question about, is the iPod. It will not be recognized by the computer (Dell, Windows XP) as an iPod, It will show up in my Computer Browsing program, but iTunes will not load anything. The click wheel is sticky and sometimes won't work, and I can hear sand rattle about if I shake it, so I know it's there. I cleaned most of it out, though. So my question is, does Apple's Service and Repair agreement include things like my case? I really don't want to buy a new iPod, I just bought it about two weeks before the Nano came out, if it's any help. Please help.

I have a 16GB iPod touch that suddenly stopped connecting to the internet last night. Everytime I try to get mail, or access anything with Safari I get a message saying that it can't connect to the server. Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I am trying to download a trial of Photoshop onto my laptop, and it keeps telling me that they are experiencing some problems but it has been telling me this every time I try for the past week or so. I'm not entirely sure what to do, please help.

Make sure you have cookies enabled and clear your cache. If it continues to fail try using a different browser.
You might try Photoshop Elements also.

Turn off any option to 'auto' save or enter you password. Remove your billing info from iTunes.
Follow the rules as 1 capital letter, lower case letters, numbers, and symbols for your password. Generate a good solid password using those suggestions.
ie: I am a tree hugger can be - Imatr33hu66er! - an no - do not use this suggestion as a password.

Not entirely sure

I brought the new iMac 27 about a week ago, and was transferring files from my old mac book via firewire when the iMac froze. I held down the power button to restart it, which happened. However, i am now unable to click anything on the screen, but the mouse still moves across the screen.
I'm not computer pro as you can probaby tell, but would really like to know if theres anyway to fix this without trundelling the computer back to an apple store.

Two things to try - resetting the PRAM and the SMU:
# Unplug all cables from the computer, including the power cord.
# Wait 10 seconds.
# Plug in the power cord while simultaneously pressing and holding the power button on the back of the computer.
# Let go of the power button.
# Press the power button once more to start up your iMac.

String stringInvestmentAmount = JOptionPane("Please Enter An Investment Amount");What is this line trying to do? If you are trying to create a JOptionPane object and pass that String to the constructor then you need the new keyword. If you are trying to call a method of the JOptionPane class then it would be a good idea to include the method name. I sure you are trrying to do the second option.
Once you fix that, it is likely the other errors will disappear. Or different ones will emerge.

So, where do I review the iPhoto images...there is nothing in there that says "iPhoto Library" Everything I see pertains to Aperture Library which of course is empty since I haven't imported (or dragged) any photos in there yet.
Also is tech support available for Aperture? I have Apple Extended Support and I sure would love it if I had individual help. Only iframe refresh not entire page

I am working on a requirement which is as follows:
upon clicking a link on quick launch a new page opens which has an iframe and displays some other page information [ say a report ]. now the page has couple of input fields [ actually these are part of masterpage ] so after me entering some data in those
input fields and clicking a refresh button, i want to load the iframe only not the entire page.
any idea how to achieve this ?

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to create a button for only refreshing iframe not entire page.
You can do it with a function call:

AIF question: USELVM="yes" not set during configuration

Just installed Arch from the new (2010.05) install images on a new laptop. Everything working brilliantly, but I have one question. I set up my system to use LVM on top of dm-crypt, and the AIF tool did a splendid job of auto-configuring everything: /etc/fstab, the hooks in order in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf, and the kernel line in /boot/grub/menu.lst were all automatically configured just right. The only thing that wasn't automatically set was the value for USELVM in /etc/rc.conf. I set it to "yes" during the installation, and everything has been working great (with the exception of an error message about file locking initialisation on boot, but elsewhere on the forum I've read that that is a harmless message).
But I was curious why this value wasn't set automatically by AIF: does AIF simply not mess with /etc/rc.conf at all, is it impossible or unadvisable to do this? Alternatively, it is actually unnecessary to set USELVM="yes" if you've got LVM on top of dm-crypt?
I am really just curious, since AIF did such a great job of auto-configuring everything else. I almost second-guessed myself setting USELVM="yes" manually, but as I say, everything is working as it should.

In my experience, you are correct. AIF does not change rc.conf EXCEPT for altering the configuration with network interfaces during installation. And as you brought up, since the programming is there to parse rc.conf and modify the networking settings in-line with text, why doesn't it set things like LVM automatically in rc.conf? I believe it is because the code simply isn't there for the LVM creation. And I think requesting it from Arch is a reasonable request.
As to your question, I would definitely use USELVM="yes" because I have had problems before when I didn't. I'm not exactly sure where the setting is actually applied, but I know that rc.conf is parsed during boot right after the initial ramdisk and getting that setting in there at the lowest level during boot is best.

Have you tried deleting the songs from Settings?
Settings -> General -> Usage -> Manage Storage (not the iCloud link!) -> Music and then click Edit to enable you to be able to delete.

I have this identical problem. For a while my group texts didnt show up on my ipad. Then one day they did, maybe everyone in the group started using the same os version or something. Ever since my first reply to the group there have been complaints of multiple threads. I can not find a pattern for when my group text's decide they want to create a new thread. (it doesnt happen every time) Everyone in the group has deleted the thread, we've all toggled imessage on/off etc. There still hasn't been a solution.

I have a few questions on Metalink note 392673.1. This note states that if two schema have objects with similar names and these two schema issue identical statements, it is possible that the statement will run against the wrong schema's object if "a cursor gets reloaded in a certain manner".
Does anyone know any more details? What manner of reloading? Will synonyms prevent the problem? Is there a test case?
Also, the note states that it applies to versions 10.1.0.2 to 10.2.0.3, while the bug claims that it is fixed in 10.2.0.3. Is 10.2.0.3 affected or not?

It seems that bug is solved in 10.2.0.3 patchset, and interim patch for 10.2.0.2.

If I re-link files to their current catalog (many different paths to files in same catalog) can I merge (import catalogs) into one master catalog? Will the new (Master catalog) have the correct link to the source file? If not, how or can this be done?
