Question is it possible to build a Development environment from my current production environment VMs

My server admin thinks it is possible to setup a new development environment using copies of the Production VMs.
He will rename the SQL Server and Sharepoint vms see below:
SHAREPOINT SERVER
IP: New IP Address
FQDN: DEVSharePoint.Local
SharePoint SQL SERVER
IP:New IP address
FQDN: DEVSQLSRV.Local
Wouldn't I also need to point IIS in the VM to the new DevSharePoint and new DevSQL using the CA, but curently it is looking like the CA points back to the orignal CA and I don't want to remove a server if that is correct?  Also how would I point to
the Central Admin Site to the new location?
how can I quickly resolve this?  so I don't impact the current environment with testing new development?

I think that the best if to create new dev environment.
Then you can migrate your current SharePoint databases (Content, Services) to the new dev environment.

  • I want to know about the role of AS application binaries, remote filesystems, and local filesystems in building a development environment on the iplanet application server.

I think you need to be more specific in your question.
The typical development environment involves the developer having his own copy of the application server binaries, executing code off of the local filesystem, and developing on the local filesystem. (Using some version control system to sync his code with the team code.) The most common reason for this is that most people are using Windows as a development platform.
That said, it doesn't have to be that way. There is nothing preventing you from using a remote filesystem for the app server binaries. (Or even running your development server remotely.)
What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

  • IS IT POSSIBLE 2 BUILD A NEW XML FROM DAMAGED ITL? SAVE FERRIS

OK. Here's my situation. I have an HP notebook running on VISTA. ITUNES version 8.1.1....... My computer shut off abruptly while I was running ITUNES and after I restarted it and started up Itunes, I got the damaged ITL message. No big deal, I still have all my songs in their designated folder and I'll just import the XML to get all my playlists back in action. I've done this at least 10 times already. Works like a charm everytime. Oh S#!T,... my XML was wiped out during the shut down. I have a program that can retrieve files after recycle bin deletion and the XML is no where to be found. SOOOOOO here's my questiion. When my computer S#!Ted in my cereal, it split my ITL into two seperate damged ITL's. One 32 MB and the other 14 MB. I know the XML is just a backup of the ITL and I frequently update my XML twice a week to make sure no B.S. could bestow it's bad self all up in my shizz. I just never figured to make a copy of the XML because everytime this has happened, the good XML was always there to use. (NOW I KNOW)Soooo, I need to know how to build an new XML from the two damaged itl's. That way I can just import the two new xml's and then save, thus making itunes create a new fresh XML from my two provided and restoring my itunes to it's original self. My problem is I can't get ITUNES to read my two damaged ITL's. Yes, I've done the name change method, no love. I tried the restart computer at a previous date and time method, didn't work. I tried the previous libraries folder and it's five moths old, which is a 10,000 song difference for me. So that way is useless. I even downloaded the same version of ITUNES that I run onto my home computer, which runs on XP, so I could try the system cache method. No love there either. I've stumbled upon a page where a person stated that they were able to manually poke around with their ITL file and forcing ITUNES to repair it. However this person was a computer whiz and I am sooooo totally not. So I had no idea what he was talking about. Anyone dealt with this scenario before? I tried praying to GOD but all he said was "THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR PUTTING SHANIA TWAIN'S ..THAT DON'T IMPRESS ME MUCH.. ON YOUR IPOD YOU F%#KING DORK!!!" and I was like, "dude, it is undeniably impossible to not have a smile on your face for the duration of that righteous classic. Then he just f@rted into his hand and released it an inch away from my nostrils, followed by some bird flippage and nut sack grab. So I'm gonna need some help with this one. Thanks Ahead

Transferring your prepaid cellular data account depends on your carrier. AT&T lets you move it yourself when you go to Cellular Data in Settings and log into your account with your previous AT&T user name and password. For iPads with Sprint service, you can set up an account on the new iPad and contact Sprint Customer Care (888-211-4727 and go through the menus) to deactivate the old plan and get credit for unused service. For Verizon, call the company’s customer service number for mobile broadband support (800-786-8419) and ask to have your account transferred.

  • Is it possible to create a development object from the development tab?

    Hello All,
One the central concepts of SAP Solution Manager is that you perform almost all activities starting in Solution Manager. As I understand, it is not possible to create a customer development such as a program from the development tab in SSM. You first have to logon to the 'satelite' development system and create the object. Then you can register this object at the development tab.
    Is this correct?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
You are right, you have to create your objects in your satellite system (its obvious).
This object can be against any servicedesk message or any requirement for a particular business process, thus keeping track of all the developments process wise, request wise.
    Hope this solves your problem.

  • Importing development settings from JPG

    Hello everyone,
I have a JPG file that I've created in Lightroom from a RAW file.
My computer has crashed at some point, and I lost everything, but I managed to save the original RAW file.
Is it possible to recover the development settings from the JPG file, in order to re-edit the orignal RAW file (so I could make changes right from where I left off)?
Thanks for all of your help in advance,

Right. I since amended that on Phil Harvey's recommendation, but to be frank, I don't understand it all perfectly, so bear with me.

To your question, if I have the same settings tools - the Temp starts with 0 and can move between -100 to +100.
This is what's known as "incremental temperature" adjustment, not raw (kelvin), i.e. standard baked rgb file (e.g. tiff, jpeg).

I assume you mean sliders. What's on the camera calibration profile drop-down menu?
    Dannyboy103 wrote:
I noticed that when working on a dng file, there is a slight change in the calibration profiles (no "white or "highlights" and there is a "fill light" option. Maybe other changes, but haven't really taken a real close look at it).
fill light is for photos utilizing process version 2010 (or 2003), i.e. legacy process versions. whites & highlights are for PV2012 photos (current process version).
    Dannyboy103 wrote:
Why do you think that having the lens correction option available is a bad thing?
Using profile-based lens corrections is a bad thing if baked rgb file (e.g. tiff, jpeg) already has lens corrections applied, or is cropped... Such is the reason Adobe does not support profile-based lens corrections for rgb files, only raw files.
I'm guessing you weren't actually using profile-based lens corrections on your tiff, right? e.g.
As I said, it is possible to finesse metadata such that raw (profile-based) lens corrections can be applied to rgb files, but one needs to be careful, since it could make things worse instead of better (e.g. applying lens corrections when already applied, or applying them wrongly due to crop). I thought at first this is what was happening to you, but I think now I was wrong - what do you think?

  • Is it possible to build a project with Labview 2010 on a Windows XP system, that is useful for a system with windows 7 on it?

    Hi there,
I am planning to use Labview 2010 in a short time.
But before I'm going to use it I have some questions.
I know it is possible to run Labview 2010 in an XP environment. But is it also possible to, when running Labview 2010 on a XP system, to build a project to a version that is useful in a Windows 7 environment?
Or do I have to run Labview 2010, when I want to build a project that is useful on a Windows 7 system, on a system with Windows 7?
    Please give me some information.
I hope to hear from one of you soon.

I'm not sure what you are asking. IF you are asking if you can use a fact table as the source for buildnig an Essbase database, the answer is yes, from either SQL interface or Essbase Studio (or ODI or EIS). IF you are asking if you can use as relational staging table as an Essbase cube then no. If you can phrase the question differently or give an example of that you are trying to do, it might clarify what you are trying to do

  • Why does Build Application vi work in development environment but not in executable; error 1025

    Hello,
I have an application ("A") that I am trying to build using another application ("BuildA").
I can create an application for A manually from its project using the Build Specification, and it works fine (A.exe).
Also, when I run BuildA.vi in the development environment it calls the "Build.vi" correctly and again builds application A.exe just fine.
Then, when I make BuildA an application (manually) and run BuildA.exe, I would expect it to also create A.exe just like BuildA.vi did in the development environment.
However, it fails with the error:
    Code: 1025
Open VI Reference in NI_App_Builder_API.lvlib:Build (path).vi->BuildA.vi<APPEND>
    VI Path: <b>C:\TEMP\AppBuild\BuildA\vi.lib\AppBuilder\BuildTarget.vi</b>
I noticed this thread , which looks like a similar problem, but no conclusion was reached.
Why does BuildA.vi work fine in the LabVIEW environment, but the application BuildA.exe does not work?  All paths are hard-coded, so it shouldn't be a path issue.
    Thanks,
    -john

Interesting code.  I'm curious how you came to decide 324ms in your while loop, and 58 in the other, and then 5136ms at the end.  In any case I suspect this has to do with this line of text in the help of the Build.vi.
If you plan to run a build specification on the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine, do not include the Build VI in any of the VIs for the build specification.
I don't fully know what this means but it might be why it isn't working.
The Build.vi opens all Context (application instances) and then looks for the one named "NI.LV.MxLvProvider".  This I assume is a application instance NI uses to build applications.  It then uses this and opens some other VIs in this instance for the building.  The error you are getting is "Application Reference is invalid" meaning it couldn't find the NI.LV.MxLvProvider instance it needs to build.  Again I believe this maybe because you are in a run-time environment and that instance doesn't exist there.
At the end of the day I'm guessing since Application Builder is not free, NI probably doesn't include it in the Run-Time engine, which is free.  So you can't build the way you want.  You could have and EXE running in the run-time open an instance in the development, then run your VI from there if you must make this an EXE.  It maybe easier to just edit the BuildA.vi to have a "Run When Opened" so that you double click the VI and it runs which behaves like an EXE sorta.

  • Technical question:  Is it possible to work on the same Lightroom catalog across two computers and have the catalog sync? If so, how??

    Technical question:
Is it possible to work on the same Lightroom catalog across two computers and have the catalog sync? If so, how??
Here's a little more information on what I am trying to do.
I have a desktop computer with 4tb worth of pictures that has Lightroom and Photoshop on it. I also have a laptop with Photoshop and Lightroom. I would like to be able to edit those same pictures with their current edits that are currently on my desktop on my laptop. If this can be done, I'm sure I need to be on the same wifi network for my laptop to be able to access my desktop's photo library. I am technically savvy enough to map a network drive, but how do I get my two Lightroom catalogs to sync when I make a change on one of my computers? Would i be working only on one catalog? Or two separate catalogs that would need to be manually synced to the other computer? Would it be beneficial to put my lightroom catalog on something like dropbox?
I'd appreciate any information or tutorials if someone knows how to do this.

I do this by having my LR catalog and photos on an external drive that I swap between the two computers.  I am on Windows and have the same drive letter assigned to the drive on both computers.
Because the photos are on a portable drive I back up the portable drive to another hard-drive every night or after important work, because portable drives are susceptible to damage or loss.

  • Is it possible to build a binary working on solaris 8 from solaris 10

    Hi
I understand that my requirement is kinda weird. However, I really wonder whether it is possible sometimes.
I have built ssh successfully both on solaris 8 and solaris 10. Now the problem is the binary built on solaris 8 can work on solaris 10, but the binary built on solaris 10 can not work on solaris 8.
The problem is SUNW_1.2.2 can not be found on solaris 8.
    $ldd sshd

/usr/platform/SUNW,Sun-Fire-V210/lib/libc_psr.so.1After more detailed investigation, I found the system-call dlopen and so on are linked to SUNW_1.2.2

  • Is it possible to build a firewall using labview??

Is it possible to build a firewall using labview??
    RAJESH

There are several kinds of firewalls, for example:
    (1) so called "personal firewall software" which applies some policies to incoming and outgoing ethernet traffic on the computer it is running.
    (2) Dedicated hardware firewalls (having at least two ethernet interfaces) that enforce policies of traffic flowing across. These can be bridging, routing, or even be proxying.
LabVIEW does NOT have access to the low level packet structure (ethernet header, ip header, tcp header, etc.) and relies on the OS for routing decisions. LabVIEW only deals with TCP and UDP and only at a very high level. A firewall must also make decisions for e.g. ICMP, GRE, or other IP packets, must know the status of all TCP flags (SYN, ACK, URG, PSH, FIN, RST), must check for valid fragmentations, et., etc.. LabVIEW cannot do any typical firewall tasks unless you do most of your work with external routines. In this case, LabVIEW just provides the UI.
(Even simple ftp traffic would be quite complicated. For example the ports for the secondary data connections must be dynamically allowed based on information gleaned from the control connection, in this particular case the PORT command and the reply to the PASV command).
I would say the answer is NO! Not with the networking tools provided with LabVIEW alone.
With lots of work, you might be able to built a simple proxy server using LabVIEW, but this would seem quite useless...
