    I have few questions on report programming.
    1. What is the purpose of the statement REPORT zxxx. Even if i gave a name other than my report name i don't find any difference in syntax check/Functionality.
    2. What is the purpose of list headings in report program? This option will come along with the text elements and selection texts.
    3. What is the purpose of logical data base. Even if it is efficient why don't we use it frequently in our reports? Is there any limitations?

    1. As u told that you dint get any syntax errors even after changing the Report Name,there are chances of getting Runtime errors.
    2. The usage of List Headings is when you create a list in a program, you can also create your own list and column headings.

    3. The Limitation of LDB  is the usage of GET statements which act similar to SELECT - ENDSELECT And also if you dont choose the proper LDB,a  single LDB may contain data retrieval from so many tables ,that it would make the entire process very slow and it is very hard to find LDBs for other modules than HR.
    Only in HR module the data is organized in such a way thatusing LDBs would be much simpler.

    Shalini if you are preparing for interview, first thing I suggest you is to get familiar with what is available about reporting in help.sap.com.
    I am sending you some part related to reporting. But to know about the related errors we need to have some requirement, which is beyond scope right now. Anyway I wish you ALL THE BEST.

  • Question about reports layout

    Hi ,
    I have a quick question about report Layout.
    I have created a report in 6i. Now if I want to change my
    select statement and add new table to select from , it just
    restructures my report layout again and set that to Default One.
    Is there any way where I can set my Own layout as Default for
    that particular Report ?

    Try to give it alias names to the columns . Then when you
    change the table your are selecting from . The layout should
    not change.

  • Follow up question on reporting capabilities.

    I just need to follow up to my orignial question to make sure I am making sense.  I wondered if there was intelligence in forms central to query incoming data- ie. pull a report on what email addresses viewed a form.  An analogy of the type of report would be if you wanted to pull a report on incoming calls to your cell phone- for this type of query you would not need to know who your outgoing calls were- you would be trying to determine incoming information.  Thanks again for the help. 

    If you asked for email address in your form then you would know (its in the response table). If you didn't ask for an email then there is no way to know.

  • Questions on Report Builder and Graphics Builder

    I'm currently using Report/Graphics builder V 6.0.8.11.3 NT version to create RDF and OGD files.
    I was wondering with the following confusions:
    1) Is the RDF/OGD file that I create under NT plat form portable to Sun Unix?? (ie. would Report Server for Sun understand this NT RDF/OGD file?)
    2) Is/will there a Sun solaris version of Report/Graphic Builder?? And would RDF/OGD file be compatible for both NT and Sun plat form??

    The answer to both your questions is yes. the rdf and ogd are portable to the solaris version of reports and graphics which you can download from http://technet.oracle.com/products/reports/ on the software tab.

  • Why don't the questions as reported in forms match the order of questions on the pdf form used to collect the data?

    I imported a PDF from for my survey. Then, I distributed it. People have completed it and the results have been submitted back to my FormsCentral account. The first two questions are text entry, then there are two 6 option multiple-choice questions before a 3 option multiple choice question. Why is it that in the report gives me results from four 6-option multiple choice questions before the 3-option question when there are only two? To make matters worse, the questions aren't coded with the text of the questions. They're coded cryptically, as are the responses. What the heck is going on and can I fix this?

    "from the user's perspective." Is there another perspective from which the actual (original/initial) ordering of the questions can be resurrected?
    I'm not trying to badger. That's not my intent. You have a user here who is reading hope from your words, and I'm trying to distinguish between real hope and a nice way of saying "SOL."

  • He I have a very basic question regarding reporting of invoice lines and related receiver lines

    The documentation shows that receiver transaction id and receiver shipment header and line id should be joined to the same columns  in AP invoice lines but these columns are not populated. What is the join for Payables and Purchasing 12.0 and beyond. We are on 12.2.4.

    Yes, he does not want redirects because it is POF. Also, redirects don't stay in address bar (at the one I created) - once the screen loads you see the same long URL in address bar. He says I should be able to create another public name for the website (made of forms and reports). Maybe I should go with MOD_REWRITE module? I am reading about it now and they say it's more like renaming then redirecting and I think that's more like what my boss is looking for. Key question: if I use MOD_REWRITE to redirect, would the original (long) URL string be displayed once the first screen loads? I am trying to avoid that. I need users to type http://virtualserver/welcome and to STAY that way in address bar.

    I have got a question about SAP FS-CD (collection and disbursement)
    If I make changes to the master data (FPP2) is there a way to view the changes I have made in a report.
    It is possible to view the changes via tables but I was wondering if there is a standard transcation code in SAP-CD to view the changes

    I don't think, there is any single Standard Report for above said purpose.
    You may, look in to different reports:
    VL10C - Delivery Due (Sales Order-wise)
    VL06O - Delivered (You may fetch the Report, based upon Sales Order - Enter Range for S. Order, under Tab: Doc. Data, and then execute the Report)
    VA05 - Open Sales Order
    To view, all details in to single report, customization required.
    Alternatively, save output in "Excel" and use "VLOOKUP" to combined the result, from above reports
    Q6: What settings are required to perform collective delivery, i.e. create one delivery from several sales orders? I have tried it but failed, even same customer, same shippping condition, same delivery date, same shipping point.
    Basic requirement for Collective Delivery:
    Ship To Party
    Inco Terms
    Confirmed quantity date at schedule line level
    Delivery priority
    Shipping Point
    Above-data must be same in all Sales Orders.
    Also routine "051" will allow you to combine only if billing document types are also same. So try with 101 in Field: Order Combination, within T. Code: VTLA, for your item category.
    Try with T. code: VL01N/ VL10A/ VL10B, to create Delivery.
    If WM is assigned then a transfer order has to be created to do delivery using LT03 and once you create transfer order then you can do PGI.or you can confirm the transfer order using LT12

  • Two naive questions: change report templates and customization.

    I searched the forum but didn't have the luck to find the exact answer.
    1) I've chosen the alternating row color template for one of my report, however I wanted to change it to another template, say standard. Is it possible, and where I may find the place to change?
    2) Is there a tutorial of how to customize the row color depends upon the value dynamically? Like an OBE. An elaborated example will be great!

    Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, based on this statement from the one link:
    "Several macros in Sun ONE Studio IDE cannot be edited (for example, DATE, TIME, NAME of class, PACKAGE, etc.)."
    It would appear there is no way to alter the timestamp format.
    The question still remains of is there a way to access the year for a copyright stamp? If anyone else has any input, it would be appreciated.

  • A question about report completion in production order

    Hi,
    Rightnow, i am trying to develop some application about production order and play with the production order in SAP. I found a issue which I don't understand. Let's say I have a production order with some components issued for the BOM and these components are managered by serial number. Natually, when I issue components into this production order SAP asks me to select serial number. But when I report completion for some products, SAP doesn't ask me to select component's serial number. Also when I try to return left components from production order to warehouse, SAP ask me to select the component's serial but the serial # list is the complete list which doesn't make sense. Because I have already report some products completed, how comes it ask me to select serial # from all of them? So seems that SAP doesn't manager the serial number properly in production oder, something wrong either I miss some steps in SAP or SAP missing something to manager the serial # for production order.
    Any idea?

    1.When we drag drop a keyfigure in a column it generates a structure or not if it is generating what kind of structure it is?why this structure cannot be created for charecteristics.?

    What ever limitations u have in excel are all applicable to Bex. There is a limitation of 65536 rows in the excel. and coming to the characteristics and key figures the limitation again depends on ur info provider.
