Question of the password!

I never set up a password (4numbers) for my ipad. The requirement of password was suddenly showed on the screen today and looked to be blocked.

Restart the iPad and try again. If you can't activate it that way, you may have to use iTunes on the computer.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

What does the password stored in the JAGENT wallet do, and what JAVA_HOME should I use for the pw_agent_util.sh command?

I am configuring the GoldenGate Plugin for OEM. There is a step to create the wallet. The documentation is not clear about the role of the password supplied. If I run the JAGENT as oracle user, should it match the password for the oracle user, or is this password separate? Also, should I use the OEM agent jdk for the JAVA_HOME setting?

Morning. Good to see that someone is working on using the plug-in for GoldenGate within OEM12c.
If you are using the plug-in 12.1.0.2, you will be much better off with reporting on GoldenGate processes. In order to get the 12.1.0.2 plug-in to work, the JAgent 12.1.3.0 is needed and can be downloaded in the Oracle GoldenGate Monitor distribution (Configuring Oracle #GoldenGate Monitor Agent | DBASolved) . If you are using the old plug-in 12.1.0.1, then the JAgent is embedded with the GoldenGate software (Oracle GoldenGAte (11.2.1.0.1 and later) and Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c | DBASolved). I recommend taking the new plug-in!
Now to address you question about the password. The password is stored in the wallet under the GoldenGate home ($OGG_HOME/dirwlt) and is used directly for the JAgent to login to the EMAgent and communicate with OEM. The user name associated the password is configured in the $JAGENT_HOME (different depending on version, look for Config.properties). Then in OEM, the username defined in Config.properties and the password in the wallet needs to be provided before OEM will pick up the GoldenGate targets.
The $JAVA_HOME setting depends on the version of JAgent you are going to run. The JAgent 12.1.3.0 using JDK 1.7 or higher. The embedded JAgent using JDK 1.6.

How can I access my iCloud email account when I don't remember the password and Apple won't accept the answer to my security question?

I set up an email account with " @me.com". I get a wrong password message when I try to log in. When I try to change my password I get an INcorrect answer message to the security question I'm asked my birth date so I know I have it right, unless I did a typo when I set up the account. When I choose email me the reset password lnk I cannot retrieve the email because it won't accept the password. I wanted to justemail Apple for instructions but cannot find an email address for that. Any help would be appreciated.

I tried that without any luck. I was hoping I could get Apple to reset it for me or delete the account so I could recreate it or at least tell me what is listed as my birth date, the security question answer.

I have a new email address and my old email keeps coming up on icloud when trying to update apps and i don't know the password or security questions for the old email. I can sign in with my apple id which is tied to another email but not itunes how to fix

I have an apple id and it has my current email attached to it. however when i go to update apps it's asking for the password for an old email. I no longer have the old email and can't use it. when I go to icloud on my ipad it asks for the password for old email. it doesn't allow me to change the old email to current. when i go to reset it i can't remember the password or security questions for the old email so it doesn't let me go any further. How do I fix this? Do i need to call apple support?

I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account. I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there. On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back. Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email. The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option?

HT5622 I keep getting a pop up about signing into an Icloud account. It won't take the password. I tried to log in on pc and sign in and screwed up on my security questions and it's kicked me out.. how long til I can try again?

I am in iphone **** or better icloud ****. When I try to go ointo settings on the phone a signin prompt pops up continuously with one apple id. I think i've made it that i have a separate icloud and apple id. I am trying to delete the icloud id. I made all the passwords the same so that there should be no problem but the phone won't still take the password. So when i went in again, looking to see if I could delete the icloud, i screwed up answering my security questions and am now unable to enter that icloud id. How long til I can again? Secondly, since the phone won't accept any password, I have tried to delete it. When I do that, it come up with a request for that same password to shut of the locator service. What the heck? I'm frustrated. I just can't get the hang of apple software and itunes seems to be just as bad for me. Any suggestions appreciated ( aside from stomping on it, I've considered it). Tried to take the battery out but not for me, mere mortal, thought might reset. Got sim card out. Whooopeeee.

It sounds like you have the Find my iphone Activation lock for sure. Go to www.icloud.com/find and see if you put in that Apple ID that is coming up and yoru password to see if you are able to sign into the account that way to turn it off. If you are unable to, you will have to contact AppleCare by phone (chat cannot handle account lock outs or forgotten password due to not being able to verify your identity) and see if they can reset it. And are you sure the Apple ID that is coming up yours?

How do I delete an old Apple ID stuck to iCloud when the email address no longer works and neither do the passwords or security questions?

I know I shouldn't have, but I put in my new Apple ID before deleting the old one which was an email address that had shut down. Now the password, rescue address, security questions all don't work and I cannot access the old email address because it no longer works. I cannot delete the old ID from iCloud because I have to put in a password to shutdown find my iphone first. I am going around in circles. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Claudius,either you didn't read my post, or you jumped to conclusions. I had a skype account that was created using a microsoft account (NOT THE ACCOUNT I AM USING NOW). PURE MICROSOFT ACCOUNT NO OTHER ACCOUNT LINKING.I had to change the primary mail of that account.I was told "no can do" by skype support.I found that if I went to account settings and clicked on the link on the line below the one that said "MICROSOFT etc" (labeled something along the lines of "TV or Device") I got the opportunity to set the password of the "live:username" account (WHICH YOU COINCIDENTALLY HAVE TO DO IF YOU WANT TO USE SMART TVs ETC).Once that was done, I COULD SUCCESSFULLY DO WHAT SKYPE SUPPORT SAID WAS IMPOSSIBLE- I could change the primary mail address. once that was done, and NOT BEFORE, I linked the account to a facebook account as well, just to be sure I have more than one way to access the skype account. Hi!I ran into the same problem as a lot of other people seem to have done. I am changing ISP and because of that I have to change my mail address from my 10 year old [e-mail removed for privacy and security] to something else, this time I choose to use an outlook.com address in the hope that I will be able to keep that a bit longer. last week I realized that my skype account had my old expiring address as the primary mail, and that the primary mail was the only mail that skype will use for communication with me - I already had 2 other mail addresses in my skype profile (outlook.com and gmail). The skype account was created last summer using my microsoft account, and the microsoft account is the only means I have for accessing the skype account. So I logged on and opended the profile page, went on to edit the info and marked my outlook mail as the primary, clicked save and got the password question. I entered the password I use for logging on (ie the microsoft account password), but was told that the password was wrong. I tried everything and some more things, I spent 40-50 minutes on a text chat with skype support, only to be told that it can't be done and that the skype account was hard tied to the mail address I had used when creating the account, which I found very strange as I had used my microsoft account. yes, when I created the skype account, the only mail I had connected to the microsoft account was my "[e-mail removed for privacy and security]" mail, but I have since then, without any problems, been able to create an outlook.com address, and have that added, added a gmail account, set the outlook.com as the primary for the microsoft account and remove the "[e-mail removed for privacy and security]" address from the microsoft account. no problem.The problem is actually worse as the mail account will be free for use after april 1, which means that a person claiming that mail address will risk getting extremely confusing mails regarding a skype account they don't have, they will have difficulties creating a skype account of their own, AND they can take over my skype account (as they are the owners of the mail address) and I won't be able to stop them. It is the password for this "hidden" account you have to enter when you want to change the primary password It turns out that I was also unable to connect my facebook account to my skype account for the very same reason, but here it was more obvious, as I had to enter my skype username and passwor when connecting the accounts, and the microsoft account wasn't accepted there . so what do you need to do? well - those of you who have a smart tv (or some other device) that can't log on to skype using a microsoft account, have already done the work (provided you use that tv/device with skype) you log on to skype and open the account settings page, on the line below "microsoft account [email protected] unlink change microsoft password" you'll see a line saying "TV or Device" or something similar (I have no idea what the english text is) here you have a link you can click on where you will be prompted to enter the password for your "live:username" account. once you have done that you get instructions saying that for smart TVs etc, you enter "live:username" as the skye user and the newly created password as your password.The good news is that you now have 1) the identity of your skype user ("live:" and your name where the user name is the combined string "live:username" which in my case was "live:myname"); and 2) a password that is valid for your skype account. what I did next was open up the profile page, edit the profile, mark the outlook.com mail address asthe primary, click save and when prompted for the password, I entered the password I set in the previous step, and that's it, I now had a new primary mail (I got the confirmation mai sent to the new mail address right after I updated the info in skype). I also successfully removed my soon defunct mail address from the mail address list in my skype account, and I then connected my facebook account to my skype account (using live:myname ase the username and my shiny new password). So at the moment I have three different methods available to me when logging in to skype:- my microsoft account- my skype user (live:myname)- my facebook account.the ONLY thing to be aware of is that the name of the microsoft account, as presented on the account settings page in skype, still is my old [e-mail removed for privacy and security] mail address NOTE that this is a presentation issue only, someone thought that it was a good idea to save the original name of the microsoft account in the skype database and use that for presentation. It is NOT used when logging on, when you log on it will use the UID of you rmicrosoft account. if it disturbs you, you can always disconnect you rmicrosoft account from your skype account and reconnect it, and you should see the current mail address associated with the microsoft account. (this is safe to do because you have at least one other method to log on ) I hope that skype will amend their FAQ with this info. I did enter into a second chat with skype support, explaining what I díd to resolve the problem they failed to solve. so there it at least 2 people at skype support who know how to resolve the problem. -cheers,Anders

Please help me because it's not the first time the account has been hacked, every time i found out that it was hacked i changed the password, but this time it is not easy because he changed the alternative email-adress and the security questions.

If you still have access to your old email address, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email account and verify it. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. You can now go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your correct iCloud ID and password.
If you don't have access to your old email address, you will have to contact Apple to have them reset the password so you can disable Find My iPhone and sign into your iCloud account. You can either go to https://expresslane.apple.com, select "More Products and Services", then "Apple ID", then on the next page select "Other Apple ID Topics", then "Lost or forgotten Apple ID password" and click "Continue"; or you can contact Apple Support (http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/).

Ipad apple ID account is deactivated and don't know the password or security questions

I have had an ipad for 12 months, my husband created an icloud account on it ([email protected]) but since then we have never used the ipad to log into apple website, itunes etc. Recently I purchased a MAC and iphone5 and after downloading the latest itunes to then sync all 3 together the ipad then asked for apple ID and password even though it had never asked for this before. The trouble is the ipad apple ID is an icloud one, ie. an email account that belongs to Apple, so we cannot reset the password via email as we don't have access to the email, and one of the security questions answers comes up wrong all the time. Because we have tried several times to remember the password the apple ID is now deactivated and the only way to re-activate it is via email verification (impossible) or security questions (impossible). We tried connecting ipad to computer and restoring factory settings, but the ipad continues to ask for apple ID and password...help... customer service Apple in Spain has more or less told us if we can't remember the security questions or password and have no recovery email (which we don't) then basically the device is useless!!!! Urm, that ipad cost a lot of money to just "throw it away". Any advice you can give me?
