Question on ALE/IDOC

Hi to all,
I have some doubts regarding ALE/IDOC can any one tell me answers to those question.
1. what is a process code? what is the purpose of process code?
2. what is a stand alone program?
3.How to handle to errors in ale/idoc?
4. ALE processes in asynchronous why?
5. How to run idocs in parallel?
6.What is a posting program
7. Can any one can send me one complete ALE/IDOC scenario with documentation ?

I must thank every one of you for sending such quick and helpful responses. I bought the book "ALE, EDI and IDOC" from Aravind Nagpal and its a great book for beginner as well as for an expert. I have started practising ALE my PC by logging into 2 clients and it is working fine. I was able to send and receive the IDOC.

I try to generate partner profile with transaction BD82.I input the model view name,partner system and execute. It says No message have been defined for the selection conditions in the model.So what is the problem.And how to handle it.

Hi Alex,
Just make sure you have given the name of sender, receiver system and message type correctly and you have maintained this data in tcode - BD64.

Change Pointers
I know how to change the description of a material using ALE Change Pointers.
I will give the following few steps
1) Tcode BD61---> check the change pointers activated check box
save and goback.
2) Tcode BD50---> check the MATMAS check box save and comeback.
3) Tcode BD51---> goto IDOC_INPUT_MATMAS01 select the checkbox save and comeback.
4) Tcode BD52---> give message type : matmas press ok button.
select all what ever you want and delete remaining fields.
save & come back.
5) 5) go to Tcode MM02 select one material and try to change the description and save it
it will effects the target systems material desciption will also changes
6) goto Tcode SE38 give program Name is : RBDMIDOC and Execute
give Message type : MATMAS and Executte
ALE/IDOC Status Codes/Messages
01 Error --> Idoc Added
30 Error --> Idoc ready for dispatch(ALE Service)
then goto SE38 --> Execute the Program RBDMIDOC
29 Error --> ALE Service Layer
then goto SE38 --> Execute the Program RSEOUT00
03 Error --> Data Passed to Port ok
then goto SE38 --> Execute the Program RBDMOIND
12 Error --> Dispatch ok
Inbound Status Codes
50 Error --> It will go for ALE Service Layer
56 Error --> Idoc with Errors added
51 Error --> Application Document not posted
65 Error --> Error in ALE Service Layer
for 51 or 56 Errors do the following steps
goto WE19 > give the IDOC Number and Execute>
Press on Inbound function Module
for 65 Error --> goto SE38 --> Execute the Program RBDAPP01 then your getting 51 Error

ALE, Idocs question.

Hi everybody,
If I have a ECC instance installed on a machine (M1) and a Netweaver with abap stack on other machine (M2). Can I communicate them via Idocs? My question is because I do not know if a have all the ALE-Idocs functionality on the Netweaver machine M2.

ALE/IDOC and RFC/BAPI Integration Scenarios with SAP DS for ESA v3

Hi,
we are planning two PoCs of Integration Plattforms. One of our major requirement set is SAP Integration into our existing SOA.
Because we also have R/3 4.7 Systems in production, we are planning to test ALE/IDOC and RFC/BAPI Integration scenarios with these Integration Plattforms.
My question is:
We are looking for are smart solution to get a SAP Test Environment, where we can test ALE/IDOC und RFC/BAPI Integration scenarios.
It is possible to do this with SAP DS for ESA v3 or shall we better use IDES for that purpose?

This is our scenario. We are doing an integration of SAP HR r/3 system with the CRM system. We need housing information details of the employees which we have in custom infotype 9310 in SAP HR system and we need those details in the CRM system. So am planning out for an ALE/IDOC approach for the integration and gonna maintain the 9310 details in a custom table. In the CRM system, we gonna build a BOL layer for accessing the 9310 details. Also i'm preparing a HLD for this process. I wanna read and go through few same HLD's before i submit my proposal to my client. Please suggest me and help me out.

i got recruitment for transfering the BOM( bill of material) and purchase order and purchase requisitions through IDOC"s using ABAP program???????

Any question related to ALE Idocs should be posted in the Data Transfers section. Not here.
People who are experts in that topic would be monitoring the posts over there. Not here.
Also, Your subject should be appropriate and meaningful so that it drags the attention of the forum members to answer you.
Coming to your question, I think when you are defining the clients you cant maintain the same value for the two clients. You need to connect the systems of different clients and so the configuration done in SALE transaction.

GL Posting ALE IDOC - To be send as File

Hello,
It is possible to send GL Posting from SAP HR system to another system as a file.
Option is that I am looking through Standard ALE whether we can create a GL Posting document file which will be transferred thru FTP file to client system.
Question ALE IDoc provide that option to create a file based GL Posting file.?

In simple terms, ALE uses IDoc for carry data from one SAP system to another. If you just need a file (not in IDOC format), I would suggest you to check if there are standard reports that give you that data and download them.
If not, you could write your custom program to generate and download the required data and download (on PC or app server).

PO vendor partner role through ALE/IDOCs

We have ALE/IDOC interface with vendor. The requirement is PO will be sent to the ordering vendor and invoice should be received with PI vendor. We are using stardard message types for purchase order (outbound) and INVOIC (inbound).
Could you please guide me on how to set up partner profile in WE20? Do I need to define both the vendors as partner? and what partner function should I select in inbound and outbound for both the vendor? Any other settings is required?

In Spro>Purchasing>partner determination >first define the partner roles , role VN for vendor,role PI for invoicing party and OA ordering address are standard available then
Define permissible roles per Vendor A/C group ..based on account group of vendor you need to define a perticular partner role is permitted
Go to define partner schmeas for vendor master >select L1 vendor>partner functions in procedure>here you check your roles are available there 2 check boxes if you wnat a perticular role mandatory in vendor master you can check mandatory and if you want an option of changing the partner you can make it changable , better to make these two roles mandatory and OA changable
Go to assign partner schemas for vendor master assign L1 for your vendor a/c group
Then go to partner settings in purchasing document define partner schema select std.po >function in procedure>check roles VN,PI,OA
Select no change mandatory and higher level for all three
Go to assign schemas for docuemt>assign 0002 for document type in question

LSMW: ALE/IDOC, getting the Create a partner profile for message type

Hi Gurus,
In my current project, i need to upload the employee data using the ALE/IDOC method with the LSMW
when i'm generating the idoc in the 13th step, its posing the information message stating that:
Create a partner profile for message type 'ZEMP_MSG'
In partner profile i already assigned the message type .

Integrating SAP CRM with the SAP HR module using ALE/IDOC

Hi,
We replicated HR data(employee and position) from SAP HR to SAP CRM system using ALE/IDOC.
Here I have one question,If I change the position to the employee in CRM system,will changes happen in SAP HR system automatically? or Delta changes will haapen? If yes pl explain.
Using change pointers master data changes flowsfrom SAP HR to SAP CRM .

To integrate... between those systems
first of all u have to create message type to tose fields with t code bd52.
then activate that massege type in bd50.
and after that one u have to activate chaneg pointers globally with bd61.
if u did these thigns if u made any chnegs to those fileds that witll be reflected in the next system

Bdc to Bapi
The steps to be followed are :
1. Find out the relevant BAPI (BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE for VA02).
[for VA01 use BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2]
2. Create a Z program and call the BAPi (same as a Funtion module call).
2. Now, if you see this BAPi, it has

Bapi to VB(Visual Basic)
Long back I had used the following flow structure to acheive the same.
Report -> SM59 RFC destination -> COM4ABAP -> VB.exe
my report uses the rfc destination to create a COM session with com4abap. com4abap calls the vb.exe and manages the flow of data between sap and vb exe.
You need to have com4abap.exe
If com4abap is installed you will find it in sapgui installatin directory , C:\Program Files\SAPpc\sapgui\RFCSDK\com4abap.
else refer OSS note 419822 for installation of com4abap
after making the settings in com4abap to point to the vb program and setting up rfc destination in sm59 to point to com4abap session , you can use the following function modules to call the vb code.
for setting up com4abap and rfc destination please refer to the documentation for com4abap.
