Question on changing fonts dynamiclly

Building a small widget similar to the font selecter in power point.
One thing I can't figure out:
How does the font selector set it self to the font of the component in focus, and then change the font that's selected in component if you choose another font?
Do you pass the component to the selecter or do you reference the selecter or both maybe?
Can anyone enlighten me a litle bit on this.

If you want to change the fonts of the entire page then this code will do the trick:

what exactly do you want to change? Can you be a bit specific so that Ben or Ken can give you the exact code and tell you about the short-hand method to write the code in one line.
Have you bought a book on CSS yet? If not, it is a good idea to get one as a reference. Eric Meyer writes good books on CSS.

Your question really got me thinking. Actually, I don't think you should feel like an idiot at all. I think it is Apples failure that they made this difficult. Seriously, who would ever think to press Command and arrow to switch months? The little arrows next to the word Today are so small and inconspicuous that I remember having this very same question when I started using iCal too.
So, here is what I did to make it easier for my wife that uses iCal too.
Open System Preferences, Keyboard, Keyboard Shortcuts Tab, and finally Application Shortcuts.
Click on the Plus symbol under the right hand pane.
Select iCal from the Application list
Add two shortcuts: One named Next and the other named Previous and press your desired Keyboard Shortcut.
I assigned the left arrow and right arrow for these tasks.
Now it makes more sence for someone that is not used to Apples idotic way of doing things. ;-)
I use keyboard shortcuts all over the place. Actually, sometimes it gets me into trouble when I use someone elses computer and my shortcuts don't work. I blame their computer for it and forget it was my "tuning".

Hello Ajaykumar,
if I am not completely mistaking the 360° Appraisal uses the Adobe Forms.
In this case the font can be set in the Adobe Live Cycle Designer by selecting "Palettes" -> "Font".

If by changing font-size you mean in your web pages, the answer is use CSS with values in px, em or %.
body {font-size: 100%}
p {font-size: 1em}
h1 {font-size: 3em}
h2 {font-size: 2.5em}
h3 {font-size: 2em}
h4 {font-size: 1.5em}
and so on....

You can change this in the Content Settings of Firefox. Go to "3 bar" menu and click on Options. Click on content and uncheck "Let websites choose their own styles" and select a bold font type.

Hi Thomas,
I saw from your response in the post above that you might be able to answer a question I have about the portal theme.
We are using several textedit elements in our portal, however the font size of text entered in those textedit fields is smaller than the standard global text in the portal. I have tried in vain to find the setting in the portal theme that controls textedit elements. Do you happen to know which one it is exactly?

These are HTML formatting questions. Nothing to do with the Oracle SQL and PL/SQL languages.
With old-style HTML, the font size and family are set using the font tag.
With modern style HTML, that is done using cascading style sheets (CSS).
Your favourite search engine will turn up tons of information on both.

Is there a way to change font size in incoming email messages?

In the Mail preferences I see options for changing fonts and sizes for composing email, but is there a way to control incoming font sizes?
Some emails for some reason show up in very tiny fonts when they come into my Mail program

Hello Nick,
Thank you for the question. You can update the font settings in the Preferences for Mail. By going to Mail>Preferences>Fonts & Colors, you can update the Message list font and the Message font for easier viewing. The Messages font will only change to the font you select if the sender does not have specific formatting for the text in their email:
Option
Description
Message list font
The font and font size for viewing the list of messages (in classic layout only). Click Select to use a different font.
Message font
The font and font size for writing and viewing messages. Click Select to use a different font.
If the sender used a specific font for a message, that font is used when viewing the message.

Have tried changing fonts, changing from italics to bold, would reinstalling help? If so what is the procedure to save contacts and info? Reasonably proficient on the computer but no expert by any means. Thanks for any help.

PSE 9... Can't change Fonts

"Set Font Family" doesn't work on pse 9. Font is stuck on myriad_pro. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling pse 9 to no avail. Then I downloaded an update of pse 9. I still can't change fonts. Please help!

The problem is that the arrow next to the font window doesn't cause a drop down menu of font choices to appear. At your suggestion, I tried the arrow keys and I discovered that they cause a single change of fonts in the font window. Navigating the list of fonts one font at a time in the future will be painful but doable. I'd like to return to the drop down menu function where I can quickly scroll the whole list of fonts and make a change rapidly.
Currently when I click on the font menu arrow, the screen makes a vertical 1/4 " "jerk", so the signal is rec'd, but there's no drop down menu response.
Additionally, the following commands to the right of the anti alias command are "grayed out" (not functional): faux bold, faux italics, underline,strike through, warped text, and change text orientation.
Your suggestion to use the arrow keys was somewhat helpful. If I can't find a fix I may have to go to a popular font like Arial and just stick with it. I'm afraid to buy the latest version ( PSE 12) as I'm not sure it would solve the problem.

I am a linux user. In past I used Chrome for my browser. But a few months ago, my corporate changed our software and optimized it for using in Firefox. Unfortunately, the output printing font I got so bad. My printer is IBM 9068 A03 with IBM Proprinter II driver, and it's no matter about font in Chrome. Can I change font in FIrefox to get better printing output? Thankyou very very much for helping.
