I need to set up a skype number based in Mexioc (i.e. a Mexican number) but when I go thought the process, Skype tells me that they set their numbers in Mexico using a Mexican Partner (a cable company) and they ask you to read the partner's Terms of Agreement, which I did and .... I was not clear on the following....
The skype number is $5 / month paid to Skype but the Mexican partner's agreement talks about a cost / THEIR service... Is this in adition to the $5 dollars charged by Skype?

You don't pay the Mexican provider, you will only pay Skype. I have had a Mexico City number for several years through Skype, and have only paid Skype for that number. There are some requirements in the terms of service for the Mexican Skype Numbers where Skype forces everyone to see that agreement. Other parts of that agreement forbid the use of the Mexican number as Caller ID, so that's why Skype never allows the use of a Mexican Skype number as Caller ID when calling from Skype.

Unfortunately, if Skype cannot obtain blocks of numbers from the telephone service providers, then that is how there can be holes in the lists of available numbers. There can be several legitimate reasons why this occurs. As Joanna noted, above, we need to check back on occasion.

How can i set up my Skype Number

Can i set up my skype number to be accessible in two skype accounts and if the other skype account is not available it call gets diverted to another skype account?

Note: when I click on South Korea, takes me to a page informs me there are special requirements for South Korean Skype numbers. However, when I click on "Next" to verify I am a resident of Korea, it informs me of technical difficulties. Is any one else getting this error?

Something I did several years ago (before I had Muse) when my wife began her jewelry business was create a website in the traditional way (at that time using Fireworks and Dreamweaver), but rather than have people buying directly from her site, there was a link to her Etsy shop. She could personalize the Etsy shop as much as she wanted, add/subtract jewelry on the fly, etc.
There are some good e-commerce solutions out there. One that looks promising is Shoplocket. You can check it out here at MuseThemes.
To your point about a lack of quality tutorials, I somewhat agree. The ones Adobe provide, albeit free, are more hit and miss. I've had better luck at Lynda.com where they offer video courses on the various software. Of course, they're not free, but for $25/mo. I've gotten a lot of value from them.

I did not set up a Skype Number!

What the heck???? Today out of the blue, without using skype or changing a single setting I suddenly start getting phonecalls - 97 of them to be exact from all over the world. In my email inbox I have an automated email thanking me for setting up my number (which I had not set up at all) and as if that wasn't bad enough, they withdrew $10 and then $25 x3 all in very quick succession on my autocharge out of my paypal account. What do i have to do to stop these calls and get my money back????

I have been trying in vein to set my new Skype number as caller ID for all my Skype calls. The reason I purchased a Skype number was for this reason. Depsite following the how to on this page "What is caller identification and how do I set it up?" my Skype number does not appear in the drop down menu when I follow all these steps ONLY my mobile number shows up. I am a little annoyed by this and I would not have paid for a Skype number had I know you can not actual assign this number to your caller ID. Maybe I am doing something wrong however, I am tech savvy enough to follow instructions and these don't help. I hope it is possible otherwise I feel I will need to seek my money back. I've paid for my monthly $2.99 for phone services which says it also comes with a skype number, but my number is telling me that I need to pay $18 and when I make calls it is some random number and I cannot recieve calls. Do I have to pay both seperately?

Will USA VPN Work for Skype Number while in Playa ...

We just moved to Playa del Carmen and unfortuntely there is no area code for this part of the country. We do have a VPN that runs out of California. Since this the case could we use a California area code for our skype number and people will be able to reach us.

Yes, you could start a Skype Number subscription using a California number, however the VPN does not come into play or matter: remember, a Skype Number is a fixed line (land line) number. You can answer calls that people place to your Skype Number regardless of your physical location at the moment.
In other words, if most of your friends and family are in California, it would make sense to have a Skype Number closest to their location so they incur little or no toll charges when they call your Skype Number.

Using Skype number for America

Morning Skypers!
I'm looking for a bit of advice. I have a Skype number here in the UK which allows clients to ring a landline number and I can answer in Skype. It works well and I'm very happy with it.
What I would like to do is set up another Skype number for the US. This way clients in the US, without Skype, can call a US number and get through to me inexpensively. What I'm looking for is some clarification on calling charges in the US as I know there are long distance costs which I'm trying to avoid. Which state should I set the number up in so the maximum number of clients in the US can call the number without paying long-distance charges?
If I'm barking up the wrong tree and it is the same price to call every state if you are a US citizen then let me know but I'm pretty sure it costs more for some states to call others.

You can use a Skype ATA adapter like the Freetalk Connect Me. It's a standalone device that allows you to use your Skype account like a landline. I use it with my wireless DECT phone system and I'm pleased with the quality. It does not work or interact with Microsoft accounts, but is compatible with transitional Skype IDs.

I am new to Skype and have signed up to buy Skype credit as I will only use Skype for dialling out fairly infrequently and therefore thought "pay as you go" was a good option. However, when doing this it asked me to set up a Skype number and therefore pay the monthly charge to have the number, however, as I don't want to receive calls, only use it for dialling out, do I need to have a Skype number and pay this monthly charge or can I just add credit as and when I want to to enable me to dial out? German Skype number abroad

When attempting to sign up for a German phone number Skype tells me that I will have to be a permanent resident in Germany.
However, services like ToggleMobile and TruPhone do not have such a requirement (presumably because they offer mobile / cell phone numbers rather than geographical ones). Still, it's possible to get a fax or voicemail box there for free with a geographic number, so it seems not all service providers have this requirement or enforce it (if it is really a requirement by law - I believe local legal representation is acceptable).
How about offering numbers similar to those service providers?
In this globalized day and age of the Internet, Schengen area and the free trade agreement that's being negotiated between the EU and the US it seems rather odd to still have such 19th century restrictions imposed on us.

Skype Numbers are available only insasmuch as the fixed line carriers provide numbers for Skype to use. If numbers are available for the specific region you wish to locate your Skype Number, great! If not, then we have to choose from the list of numbers provided to us when we set up a Skype Number subscription.
As far as the activation of your Skype Number is concerned, please contact Skype customer service

Trying to register a Skype number but its signing ...

So I'm trying to set up a Skype number on my account. It lets me choose a country and a number but when I go any further it signs me out. When I go back to Get a Skype number I see the number that I chose as selected and then a hyperlink for activate. When I click on that it signs me out again.
I am currently living in South Korea using a VPN to the US (because everything is in Korean otherwise) I am trying to get a New Zealand Skype number.
Any help appreciated.

I have just purchased a subcription for unlimited calls to the USA for a year.
I also want my friend to be able to phone me from his mobile in Chicago IL, so i was trying to puchase a skype number, so i put the state in then i went to put the area code it but it would not let me, no numbers came up either!! so i thought i would select another state and did quite a few and the same thing happened with them.
How can i find out if there are any skype numbers available? or is there a problem with getting a number for the USA ?

Unfortunately, Skype Numbers are not available for all exchanges, area codes, or even all states in the USA and all countries. We need to choose a Skype Number based upon what is listed at the time we are searching, or check back regularly to see if a particular exchange has been added to the list.
