Question on E72 camera menu

Camera: E72, firmware 71.004
Issue: If I use the camera menu that is available on the right side of the camera window (the options of this menu are Switch to video mode; Scene modes; Switch to panorama mode, etc...) to change the default settings, everything works well, except that, after the setting was changed I can't take a picture until the camera menu disappears. This happens because there is no other way to close the menu than waiting for it to disappear. This is annoying because it takes time and I miss the moment. More precise: I change the scene mode from Automatic (default) to Close-up. When I select Close-up, the Scene mode menu closes and the camera windows appears. However, in the same time appears the camera menu and I can't take any photo until it disappears.
Fix: Please provide one.
Thank you.

At the time of updating, the current software version for Nokia E72 is version 054.005, available starting from April 2011 (Note: check the timing in your local market and for different variants).  With Nokia E72 you can even update the software without a PC by using SW Update on device.

  • HD video newbie question related to camera shooting mode

    Hi everyone
I apologize in advance as this has been covered (sort of) but I cannot definitively answer my question reading other posts so perhaps your answers will clarify this for myself and future interested parties.
I am ready to purchase a Canon HF S100 VIXIA camcorder after looking at a lot of reviews.
I have iMovie9 and will be using this exclusively (I hope?)
I am aware that if I edit anything or add transitions or image stabilization the video will be downgraded to SD, this is not related to my topic.
    Questions follow
The camera supports 24p Cinema mode and 30p mode. Both of these shoot at 24 or 30 frames per second in HD using 60i which I presume means that each progressive frame is encoded in two sequential interlaced frames which must be combined (or something like that). I would like to use this mode as it has much better low light performance and I have a lot of indoor use, BUT---
Will iMovie9 support this and display the video as a HD progressive scan frame or will it discard this information and keep it as 60i or fail or something else?
    Thanks for your help.

afaik, most (all?) consumer camcorders, claiming '24p' (or Cinema or...), scale on export (or record) to 60i ..
for me, this '24p' is mostly marketing... 24fps is a historic 'standard' for film/celluloid. in times, when displays claim 200fps, .. why 24? why not simple 29.97/30p (or here: 25)...?

  • My Sony Cybershot has always connected directly to iPhoto, but I must have changed a setting somewhere, and now it opens in Finder. Very frustrating to have to locate and then drag pics to iPhoto. Would I reset in the camera menu or in System Preferences?

My Sony Cybershot has always connected directly to iPhoto, but I must have changed a setting somewhere and now it opens in Finder. Very frustrating and I can't find where to change the settings - camera menu or Mac Preferences. Any advice?? Thanks

No, not in iPhoto, but instead in Finder (only). I've tried going into the camera menu and making sure it's set on Mass Storage, but no difference. Then I tried Auto - but also no difference.

  • Images disappear from camera menu in iphoto after import

After I import pictures from a canon camera to iphoto, they do not appear in the camera menu when I click on it in the program.  Does that mean they are deleted from the camera or are they just hidden on the program but still on the camera?

sorry but your post is not clear
What version of iPhoto do you have? Of the OS?
After I import pictures from a canon camera to iphoto,
    OK
they do not appear in the camera menu
    Please explain this
when I click on it in the program.
What program? What are you clicking on? what happens? what do you expect to happen?
Does that mean they are deleted from the camera
Did you delete them after importing the photos? If so did you reformat the memory card using the camera (recommended) or have iPhoto delete then after importing (not recommened) or did you choose to keep the photos?
or are they just hidden on the program
    Again what program?
    but still on the camera?
No one but you can answer this - are they still on the memory card when you put it in the camera
BTW it is strongly recommended that you never have any computer program including iPhoto delete your photos - after importing keep the photos and then after at least one successful backup cycle you can use your camera's format command to reformat and erase the memory card - personally I rotate between three large  cards so I do not delete the photos from my memory card for a year or more

  • How to Ditch Question Marks in Tools Menu

I have recently noticed the menu bar in all of my folders have
two dimmed out question marks in the menu bar. I have checked
the Customize Toolbar options and do not see any ??? marks
and I they are dimmed so I cannot drag them off. Even new
untitled folders have the two question marks.
I would like to know what I did to cause this problem and
how to get rid of the question marks

command+drag the question marks off the toolbar
Sorry, I should have added that was one of the first things I tried
and there is nothing to grab. The question marks on either side
of the standard menu item are dimmed and cannot be selected
    to drag.

  • Can't access Video camera menu

I have a linksys wvc2300 camera.  I had it up and running to where I could log in from a browser (on a local network) and view the camera.  However, I have since changed the port settings under the camera menu in the browser and now I can't remember what port I set it to.  Now I can no longer access the camera or camera menu.  I've tried pushing the reset button on the camera but I think that just resets the camera.  The default IP is supposed to be 192.168.1.99, however nothing comes up when I go to that address.  Again, I think it's because I changed the port number and I don't remember what port I chose.  I've tried several options but to no avail.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Michael

The easier thing, connect a PC locally in the same subnet.

  • E72 Camera pauses or still every 4 seconds approx.

I have a problem with my E72 Camera.
It pauses or still every 4 seconds approx. after that in the replay it plays the same it was shooting (play normal for 4 seconds and then still for 1 or 2 seconds)
    It's very annoying.
    Please help
    Thank You

My HH3 used to do that, so I binned it and got a different one - a HH5A. That was fine for a year until G.INP came along
You should ring the Helpdesk and request a replacement as it's under warranty if you're still in contract.

  • E72 Camera issue (black screen)

Hi everyone, I am having a problem with the camera in my E72. When I try to use it, it givesme a blank, black screen (no image is visisble as through the lens). Although the right hand side of menu does appear on screen if I press the button, nothing can be selected. It is as if the camera application gets hanged.
I recently updated firmware that resolved the issue. However, it was hardly for 2-3 days and it came back and am unable to use camera again.
Anyone faced same issue, or tried something to resolve it?

The "Ultimate Solution" is not the hard reset because i tried it with the "bloated other files" problem and this camera issue, and it didnt cure the problem.
I just got the headsup from Nokia Care Point that my device couldnt be fixed in a reasonable time so am being sent a replacement. so i'll advice if your device is still warranty  covered, then send it to a  Nokia Care Point.
The Engineers couldnt fix it in two weeks so its obvious even a software revamp wont fix it, let alone a hard reset.
    Cheers

  • SIMPLE QUESTION - EXTERNAL iSIGHT CAMERA

I just have a simple question...
I was using an older iMac G5 with an external iSight camera and just upgraded to a new 24" iMac. Can the external iSight camera still be used on an iMac with a built-in camera?
The cable with the external camera allows for more flexible viewing capability.

    Hello rgarros50
The second part of your question is not quite so simple.
Plug your external iSight in and turn it on. If you like, you can use the suggestions from How to test your (external) iSight to ensure it is functional to be sure it is working with your new iMac.
The answer to your question about the "default camera" depends on which application you are using to operate your iSight. Here is how camera selection works in a few example:
    (1) For iChat, you can choose which iSight you use in the "Camera:" choices bar in iChat > Preferences... > Audio/Video that appears when more than one compatible camera is connected. Although your camera choices will be different, the choices bar will look something similar to the Preferences settings shown here:
Most other applications also have settings that allow you to choose which camera to use. However, they do not all work the same way.
    (2) For instance, iMovie's camera choice is NOT set via Preferences. When you have more than one compatible camera connected, iMovie uses a drop-down menu choice something like this (depending on which version of iMovie you use):
Note: Because I have no built-in iSight, when my external iSight is disconnected, the drop-down menu shows only "Time Lapse." Because your iMac has a built-in iSight, your built-in iSight will show in the drop-down menu even when no other camera is connected. Connecting your external iSight should allow you to choose either camera.
    (3) Photo Booth is such a simple, basic app that it offers no menu selectable choice. Unless you make your built-in iSight the camera being used by some open application before you launch Photo Booth, Photo Booth will use ONLY your built-in iSight.
However, you can use the trick from ¶ 4 of http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302781 to let Photo Booth use your Firewire external  iSight:
    • Connect your external iSight and turn it on.
    • Quit Photo Booth (PB) if it is running.
    • Launch any app with a user-selectable camera "Preferences..." menu command.
(The "tip" suggests that you use iChat, but others should work as well.)
    • Open "Preferences..." and set the camera "Preference" to use your built-in iSight.
    • Now launch PB. PB should now use the external iSight
because your built-in camera is in use by the other application.
    (4) For apps other than those above, see their Help or other documentation.

  • E72 camera lagging after taking picture

I've had my E72 for a little over a month now, and I'm pretty satisfied with. I have recently come across an annoying problem though: When the phone has been turned on for some time (30-60 minutes) the camera starts to lag after taking a picture. The duration of this lag can be up to 40 seconds, and it is pretty annoying that I have to wait for that long between shots. If I turn the phone off and then on again the problem goes away for a short period and then returns. Has anyone else experienced this, and does anyone know what I can do about it?
    Thanks,
    Sune

I've had my phone for a while now, and just recently discovered that I have this issue too.  After I take a photo it takes 20-40 seconds of processing before I can take another, or before I can close the application.
I updated to the v22 firmware, but I didn't take photos before that so I'm not sure if it was like this from the start.

  • Questions about X6 camera and LEDs

    Two questions:
    - Is it safe to use the camera LEDs like flashlight continuously (over 30secs)? I use Brightlight - app from Ovi-store.
    - What material is protective lens of main camera? Glass or plastic?

    krtlv wrote:
I Have not yet used LEDs more than five seconds longer because I'm afraid that the LEDs overheating or somekind like that. 30secs is just example.
Why not there are any notifications or warnings If led it is not safety use longer periods? Whose responsibility is if the phone breaks down, Brightlight developer, Nokia or user?
I wouldn't worry. LEDs don't really heat up.
You'll probably notice a few proper torches now come with LEDs rather than normal bulbs.
Also quite a few phones come with the Ability to use the LED Flash as a torch (My HTC does)
You should be able to use the LED Flashlight app without any issues

  • Nokia E72 Camera Issue

Hi, I've been using E72 for almost 4 years now and the camera recently got something weird happening.
First, sometimes after I took a picture, the picture was simply lost: I can't find it inside gallery. And this occured randomly, especially when I rushed to start "Camera" application, and right after I took the photo, I exit the app.
Second, the image that I took, also sometimes are broken. These two pictures attaced simply says it. (luckily I took 2 pictures of that moment).
    Anyone can suggest a solution?
    Thank you.

I've somehow solved my second problem. It is not the problem of my phone, instead when I connect my phone to my computer, I saw that the picture is perfectly stored in my phone (I just copied that file to my computer). Maybe last time there is some syncing error.
As for the other problem, because it appears occasionally, I think I will try one of your methods. Thank you guys for the suggestions.

  • Question about Integrated Camera

I ordered a T61 14.1 inch widecreen last week, and I am anxiously awaiting its arrival.
Quick question for anyone with the above computer with the integrated webcam... is it good quality? Does it compare to a Mac integrated camera on an Apple?
    Thanks in advance...
    Scott

My personal view is that Macbook and Macbook pro have a better image quality compared to the Thinkpad's camera, probably the CMOS elements are more expensive in the Mac..... and there are more adjustability in the Mac version too..
