Question on EDPAR table structure??
Hi SAP-EDI experts,
I have a simple question.
My EDI customer number is 100100.
This parent EDI customer has number of ship-to codes.
Ship-to codes - SAP Number
GF01 - 100101
GF02 - 100102
GF03 - 100103
GF0N - 10010N
How should i fill the EDPAR table using transaction VOE4.
Someone please fill this table.
Customer - External Function - External Partner - Internal Number
Thanks and awaiting your reply,
Creasy Matt
Thanks for your quick reply.
But my question what values i have to put under each column.
Can some please fill that table and show me which value go under which column.
I have given 4 columns in my first post.
Thanks and awaiting your reply,
Creasy Matt

Conversion Table Questions: problems converting tables to structured
I'm in the process of converting unstructed FM8 docs to structured docs using FM10 and DITA structure. Right now I'm trying to build a conversion table to structure the docs, but I'm having a lot of trouble with the tables. The main problem seems to be with the tgroup element since I can't figure out how to get the thead and tbody to wrap in the tgroup element.
Here is an example of one of the tables I'm trying to structure:
This is the Table section of the conversion table I've had the most success with:
And this is the result:
As you can see, the thead and tbody elements are not wrapped in tgroup and the structure is invalid. I've been playing around with the conversion table for several days now and can't seem to figure out how to fix this. If anyone has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
D'ArcyD'Arcy,
Here are a few observations that might help:
1) The structure you use within FM (which is what the conversion table helps create) need not be exactly the same as the structure you use in XML.
2) Do not confuse the element named table with a FrameMaker table.
3) As Michael has pointed out, the CALS table model used by DITA is a five-level structure:
table
tgroup
tbody
row
entry
while the FrameMaker table model has 4 levels:
table
tbody
row
cell
4) FrameMaker can map between the 5-level structure and the 4-level structure in one of two ways, controlled by the element definitions (usually specified in an EDD), the read/write rules, and the DTD:
a) The element named table can be a container while the element named tgroup is the actual table. This model has a closer correspondence between the FrameMaker and the DITA table structure. Michael has pointed out one of its biggest weaknesses. If a FrameMaker table (regardless of its element name) has a title, then FrameMaker repeats the title on each page of a multipage table. However, if the element named table is a container and the actual table is an element named tgroup, the title is a container preceding the table and this automatic repetition does not happen.
b) If you are sure that your tables will always consist of a single tgroup, you don't have to use the tgroup element within FrameMaker. Make the element named table a FrameMaker table and include the read/write rule:
element "tgroup" unwrap;
FrameMaker will recreate the tgroup element whenever you save a document as XML. This model allows you to make the table title a FrameMaker table. However, you cannot use the element named title as both a FrameMaker table title and a container. Typically, therefore, people use the element named title as a container that is the title of things like chapters and sections and use an element named something like tabletitle for the title of tables.
Read/write rules like:
element "title" is fm element:
element "title" is fm table title element "tabletitle"'
let you save your documents as XML with both title and tabletitle represented as <title> in XML. You'll need to use a custom client or XSLT to map the XML element named title to either title or tabletitle depending on whether the XML element occurs within a table or not.
5) Your conversion table had one row with T: in column 1 and another with T:Format A in column 1; one mapped to table and the other to tgroup. The row with T:Format A would apply to all tables with the specified format, the other row would apply to all tables with other formats. These conversion table rows do not define a relationship between table and tgroup. Map T: to table if you want the model in 4b) above and to tgroup if you want the model in 4a). In the latter case, use an additional row with:
title?, tgroup
in column 1 and table in column 2.

How to integrate different tables structures from different databases?
Hi
I'm new to oracle ..kindly help me with the below issue...
I have same set of inter-related attributes (a,b,c,d) in two different databases A and B.
The structure of tables in both the database are different but they carry same attributes in same relation.
I have to integrate these attributes into single db object such that any update to base tables updates my object. How can i do this and what object will be helpful?

How to write export dump commad with no datable data only table structure.
How to write export dump commad with no datable data only table structure will there and command for hole schma.
e.g. export dump command for scott schema and all table within scott schema in it no table data should be exported. If I understand the question, it sounds like you just need to add the flag "ROWS=N" to your export command (I assume that you're talking about the old export utility, not the Data Pump version).

Data storage & Table structure in BW/BI
Hi Experts,
I know that when we create an infocube and load data it gets stored in BI server, here my question is where does the data exactly get stored in depth in the server and i would like to know the table structure of the data that is stored in BW/BI.
Thanks in advance
ShivaHi,
You have tables to Master Data:
Eg: 0MATERIAL
/BI0/HMATERIAL Hierarchy: InfoObject Material
/BI0/IMATERIAL SID Structure of Hierarchies: InfoObject M
/BI0/KMATERIAL Conversion of Hierarchy Nodes - SID: InfoO
/BI0/MMATERIAL View of Master Data Tables: Characteristic
/BI0/PMATERIAL Master Data (Time-Ind.): Characteristic Ma
/BI0/RMATERIAL View SIDs and Char. Values: Characteristic
/BI0/SMATERIAL Master Data IDs: InfoObject Material
/BI0/TMATERIAL Texts: Char. Material
/BI0/XMATERIAL Attribute SID Table: InfoObject Material
/BI0/ZMATERIAL View Hierarchy SIDs and Nodes: Char. Mater
For Cubes
you just goto SE11 and give star 0ic_c03 star and F4 then you can see the all tables for that cube like that you can check.
Thanks

RFEBKA00 multiple file postings - modifying TVARVC table structure
All
I have requirement to write a bespoke program that will pick up multiple MT940 files from a directory AL11 and submit them to the report RFEBKA00.
I am doing this by putting the file path and file name into a TVARVC variable and using this in the RFEBKA00 variant.
However the TVARVC-LOW can only handle 45 characters where my file path including the name is more like 70-80 characters long so the TVARVC variable is being truncated to 45 characters.
I do not really want to bespoke the receiving program (RFEBKA00) to handle multiple TVARVC entries and concatenate the strings together. The only other option I have thought about is modifying the TVARVC structure.
My question is:
What would be the implication of modifying the TVARVC table structure to increase the field lengths of the low/high to say 100 characters to handle the filepaths needed in this case?
Thanks in advance
DavidYou should not modify the standard SAP DDIC objects.
Also, the table will be used in so many reports/programs,etc. and it may happen these objects iwll not work after your changes.
the first approach is quite safe though or you may create a new custom table -
Hi,
Is there in other way or command to view table structure.Like to view tables, constraints on same etc..
Thanks,why not
desc emp
I agree the OP hasn't spent as much time formulating their question as they expect us to spend on answering it, but it seems clear to me that they want a single command which lists everything - not just columns but constraints and indexes too.
To which the short answer is, 'cannot be done'.
The slightly longer answer expands to include references to IDEs such as SQL Developer or TOAD which offer us tabbed information sheets on our database objects, and so provide an easier way of seeing this information than running half-a-dozen queries against the data dictionary.

Hi Friends,
What is the use of EDPAR table...maintaining External partner and Internal partner nos ..
Is it possible to generate IDOC with out maintaining Internal and External table in EDPAR?
Where do I find these Internal and External partner nos in IDOC?
What is the significance of EDPAR table and External and Internal Partner?
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Vamsi. What is the use of EDPAR table...maintaining External partner and Internal partner nos ..
This table is used to map external partners with SAP specific internal partner numbers.
For instance:- You are receiving Sales Order create IDoc's from an external entity. The external entity may have a Sold-to-Party which is different compared to the one that you have defined in your customer master.
To link these two sold-to-parties you maintain this relationship in EDPAR so that when the IDoc arrives into the SAP system it knows to perform a look-up.
Is it possible to generate IDOC with out maintaining Internal and External table in EDPAR?
Yes it is possible to generate IDoc without using EDPAR.
Where do I find these Internal and External partner nos in IDOC?
It depends on the specific IDoc in question. Perform a where-used-list on EDPAR and you will see various IDoc function modules.
What is the significance of EDPAR table and External and Internal Partner?

Am I correct in assuming there is no way to import a table structure (non-delivered) into a custom repository in MDM? In other words, you must manually create each table?
...the gui is a bit tedious, are there any quicker/better ways to create custom tables?Hi,
I guess the answer to your question is Yes.
Heres the justification..
Firstly, a database table shouldn't be confused with the tables we see in the repository. MDM stores the tables in the repository in the database in a different manner.
So, there is no one to one relationship.
Also, MDM also stores other details like unique, display fields, keywords, multilingual options etc. So, even if you import a table you would have to enter these details manually.
Also buddy, this is one time job and also a very critical job as it decides the efficieny of your MDM solution.
I believe that using the API's, you can expedite the process..Not very sure abt this though..
Hope that helps.

Tanveer.

BI 7 : Command to export a table structure of SAP R/3 into a script/text ?
Hi All.
Greetings.
Am New to SAP R/3 system. And request help.
We are trying to pull data from SAP R/3 thro Bussiness Objects Data Services into Oracle.
For now : we create a target oracle table looking at the table structure of SAP R/3 from SE 11.
In BODS, We then do the query transformation, and use the oracle target table created by us manually.
This works absolutely fine.
We would like to know the command by which we could export the table structure of any existing table
in SAP R/3 into a script / or to text file,
which we could use to create the same table structure in oracle.
Rather than manually typing some 200 field names for each tables.
Can anyone advise on this.
Thanks
InduHello,
The problem is caused due to the spaces in your directories
C:\SAP Dumps\Core Release SR1 Export_CD1_51019634/DB/ADA/DBSIZE.XML
Replace the spaces with underscores and restart the installation from from scratch.

Hi,
I have a situation where i have to load data from one server/database table to multiple servers/databases.
Example:
I need to load data from dbo.TABLE_A (on Server: Server_A & Database: Database_A) to the same table on the list of server databases like
Server: Server_B , Database: Database_B
Server: Server_C , Database: Database_C
Server: Server_D , Database: Database_D
Server: Server_E , Database: Database_E
Server: Server_F , Database: Database_F
Server: Server_G , Database: Database_G
Server: Server_H , Database: Database_H
so on and so forth on 250 such server database combinations.
The table structure is the same on all the servers.
If i make the source or destination dynamic, it throws an error while mapping ?
I cannot get Linked server permissions and SQL Server Config thing doesn't work as well.
Please suggest on how to load data from one source to multiple server/databases.
Thank you.I just need to transfer one table's data. its like i have to use a query to pick data for
the most recent data. So i use something like, select A, B, C, D from dbo.table where ETL_TIMESTAMP > (the max(etltimestamp) in the destination on different server). There are no foreign key relationships and the data should not be truncated. it just had
to append the new records. -
Deleting data from EDPAR table
hi everyone,
I need to delete data forom table EDPAR. two conditions are there. Once through first radio button in selection screen based on values of kunnr selected from select options. In the second case. if i select the second radio button, all data from EDPAR table gets deleted.
Can any one offer me proper CODE to do it....Pls help.SAP delivers a standard transaction to edit the contents of this table, VOE4, this is safer then using a custom code to delete rows from the table.

TIPS(18) : CREATING SCRIPTS TO RECREATE A TABLE STRUCTURE
제품 : SQL*PLUS

TIPS(18) : Creating Scripts to Recreate a Table Structure
=========================================================
The script creates scripts that can be used to recreate a table structure.
For example, this script can be used when a table has become fragmented or to
get a defintion that can be run on another database.
CREATES SCRIPT TO RECREATE A TABLE-STRUCTURE
INCL. STORAGE, CONSTRAINTS, TRIGGERS ETC.
This script creates scripts to recreate a table structure.
Use the script to reorganise a table that has become fragmented,
to get a definition that can be run on another database/schema or
as a basis for altering the table structure (eg. drop a column!).
IMPORTANT: Running the script is safe as it only creates two new scripts and
does not do anything to your database! To get anything done you have to run the
scripts created.
The created scripts does the following:
1. save the content of the table
2. drop any foreign key constraints referencing the table
3. drop the table
4. creates the table with an Initial storage parameter that
will accomodate the entire content of the table. The Next
parameter is 25% of the initial.
The storage parameters are picked from the following list:
64K, 128K, 256K, 512K, multiples of 1M.
5. create table and column comments
6. fill the table with the original content
7. create all the indexes incl storage parameters as above.
8. add primary, unique key and check constraints.
9. add foreign key constraints for the table and for referencing
tables.
10.Create the table's triggers.
11.Compile any depending objects (cascading).
12.Grant table and column privileges.
13.Create synonyms.
This script must be run as the owner of the table.
If your table contains a LONG-column, use the COPY
command in SQL*Plus to store/restore the data.
USAGE
from SQL*Plus:
start reorgtb
This will create the scripts REORGS1.SQL and REORGS2.SQL
REORGS1.SQL contains code to save the current content of the table.
REORGS2.SQL contains code to rebuild the table structure.

The scripts REORGS1.SQL and REORGS2.SQL have been
created. Alter these script as necesarry.
To recreate the table-structure, first run REORGS1.SQL.
This script saves the content of your table in a table
called bk_.
If this script runs successfully run REORGS2.SQL.
The result is spooled to REORGTB.LST.
Check this file before dropping the bk_ table.

Vendor-Customer balances in group currency-table/structure/function module?
Hi All,
Which table/structure/function module can be used to get balances for vendors and customers in group currency? We just wnat to extract balances in group currency so FBL1N and FBL5N are not options. Is there any SAP report which can provide these balances for both vendors and customers?
Thanks and regards,
PinkyHi Pinky,
I came across one report S_ALR_87012079 - Transaction Figures: Account Balance, Program RFSRRCUA, which extracts Account Balances of Vendor. Once the report is executed, you can do Currency Translation from one currency to different currencies. In the output screen, in the Top Menu, select 'Settings -> Currency' and you can convert to another currency. I am not sure, if this helps you. If this helps, kindly update your comments here.
Thank you.

In our current implementation we have a Blank page with Text Field [field format Rich Text] on generated PDF Document.
Once the PDF document is generated, user can copy paste content form any word/rtf document to into the Text Field.
Pasted content retains all text formatting [Bold, Italic, Underline, Indentation] except the Table format. Text Field is removing table metadata from the content and converting it into plant text.
Is there anyway to copy paste table structure as it is from word document into Text Field?Hi,
I don't think you can! While you can paste formatted text into the rich text field, the table metadata means nothing to the textfield.
