What is it for?
The cert guilde I am using makes no sense.
All it says is "The silent setting is for connections to file servers or packet analyzers".

Open iTunes and navigate to the app store. Select a free app to download. A simple way to do this is to scroll down to the top free apps box on the right hand side, hover your mouse over the first item and click on the free button that appears when you hover over it.
A pop up will open asking you to sign in with your Apple ID click "create new account", click continue to create your account. Check the box to accept the store terms and conditions and click continue.
Enter your email address, password, security question, and date of birth, click continue. Now, you will be asked to provide a payment method. Note now that the last option says "none".

Etherchannel Non-adjacent Ports

I am trying to create an etherchannel between non adjacent ports on a 6509 running catos and a 4507 running ios. The switches are configured as follows:
Cisco 6509 running CatOS ver 8.4(5)
set trunk 1/1 on dot1q 1-4094
set port channel 1/1 mode on
set trunk 7/1 on dot1q 1-4094
set port channel 7/1 mode on
Catalyst 4500 running IOS ver 12.2(31)SG
interface Port-channel9

switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport mode trunk
switchport nonegotiate
interface GigabitEthernet3/12
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

I disable all the ports involved, deliver the configuration and when I reenable the ports one line connects and the other line goes errdisabled and no channel is formed. What am I doing wrong?

there should be no problem with channeling between a catos box and a ios box . Have you looked in the logs , usually it will give you an idea why it err-disabled a port . The other thing to check seeing that you are trunking also is to make sure both ends are using the same native vlan for all ports involved. On the catos side it will just be whatever the ports will fall back to if the channel fails, this is set by the set vlan X slot/port command . On the IOS side you need to add the switchport trunk native vlan X" command . The way it is now it is assuming that everything is in vlan 1 which I don't know if its true or not . What vlan are the ports on the catos side set into ? you also just use the following after verify the native vlan is the same on both sides . Use channel-group X mode desirable non-silent and on the catos side use "set port channel slot/port mode desirable non-silent .

None ADF options

I'm new to JDeveloper and am considering developing applications in JDeveloper without using ADF.
In any documentation for JDeveloper then Model-View-Controller architecture is referred to.
I can see several options for each layer:
View
1. Swing/ADF JClient
2. JSP
3. ADF UIX
4. JSF
Controller
1. Struts
Model
1. ADF Model
Business Services
1. Web Services
2. EJB Session Beans
3. ADF BC Application Model
4. Java Beans / Other
It looks like there are non-ADF options at every layer apart from the Model layer.
Q1 Does this mean that it's not possible to use the MVC architecture without ADF?
Q2 What are the alternatives to the ADF components?
Q3 Are there any good tutorials, demos or user guides on developing with alternatives in ADF?
The only one I've found so far is

This seems to refer to Oracle 9i and be a little dated (November 2003 is the latest tutorial).

In View section you're missing ADF Faces and pure Swing.
In Controller section you're missing JSF
In Business Services you're missing TopLink and Hibernate.
In answer to your questions:
Q1) You can happily use an MVC architecture without Oracle technology. For instance JSP, Struts and EJB, or alternatively Swing and Hibernate if you so decide. JDeveloper is a Java IDE. It lets you do whatever as long as you import the correct libraries. However it does have a large amount of support for Oracle technologies such as ADF through wizards, increasing your productivity etc. Which is better? Depends on all sorts of factors such as your requirements, in-house expertise etc.
Q2) Already given you some. Like I said JDeveloper allows you to import any other Java techs as libraries. The world is your Java oyster.
Q3) Main JDev website has links to EJB 3.0, TopLink. Bacisally pick a technology and use Google to search OTN for associated articles.

Depending on how you created your account, "None" may or may not be an option. I believe it has something to do with whether the account was made through an App Store request or the regular iTunes Store. For example, my account allows no card but my father's doesn't allow there to be no card.
To change the card, go to your account settings and change the information to your new card, and hit save.

Set the indicator if goods receipts involving this material are not to be valuated. The valuation of the purchase order item will then take place at the time of invoice verification.
This indicator must be set in the case of multiple account assignment for example.
IR receipt:
Specifies whether an invoice receipt is linked to the purchase order item.
You can not do LIV if this indicator is set.
If the indicator is not set, the goods are to be delivered free of charge.
Goods Receipt;
Specifies whether a goods receipt is linked to the purchase order item.
You can not do GR if you set this indicator.
If GR indicator is set, GR-non valuated Indicator also need to be set.

You need to follow the steps in that article exactly, in particular:
You must download and install a free app.
In the pop-up window, click Create Apple ID.

Non-scrolling Option Missing

I'm running RoboHelp for Word version X.5.0.1 (build 606) and
version MS Word 2003 SP3. I currently only have the following
options when I select RoboHelp in the Word toolbar: New Macro
Hotspot, External Topic Hotspot, HTML Hotspot, and See Also
Hotspot.
I no longer have the long list that I used to have, including
the Set Non-Scrolling option that I really need right now.
I tried reattaching the RoboHelp.dot file under Tools |
Templates and Add-ins, but that didn't fix it.
Does anyone know how I can access these options?

It seems that I managed to retire a few months ago - well,
I'd been suggesting to my clients that I didn't really want to get
mixed up in new versions at my time of life and that they should
move on. (Oh, how right I was! What tender little things RH6/7 seem
to be!) The forums now seem almost completely absorbed by getting
the new versions to work and queries about X5 and RH for Word have
virtually dried up. I was on the point of cancelling my
subscriptions! Perhaps I'll wait a bit, after all.

Already frustrated by jumping in and not getting some needed information before hand, hmm k
Create a new apple id - OR
create a new free web base email - sign into the apple id you have now edit the primary email address with the just newly created email save [you justs freed your email address from being an apple id]
Once you have all the4 correct information/data etc needed to be able to then chose option None
use that email to create apple id
