Question on how to record

Ok, so a little background. I'm a recent migrant to a new macpro, within the past few months and I bought logic pro 8 a while back. I come from using an old gateway laptop with sony soundforge installed. I'm a dj and the great thing about the gateway was it had RCA audio In's so I could directly connect my mixer to my laptop and record with great ease. I'm pretty sure its going to be a little harder with logic, but I know its a much more stable platform.
So I need to know in short how to start recording.... I had gotten a version of protools a while back from a friend, along with an audio interface to use, but however could never get them to work.. I'm a bit of a novice as you can tell so any help would be appreciated.

If you've got an M-Audio interface, then first go on their website and get the latest driver. Make sure you install it EXACTLY as the instructions say. (I have an M-Audio 410, and after you install the driver you have to shut down the machine, plug the interface in, and boot up, or the driver won't work). Once it's installed and working, you should be able to see it in the Sound preferences for your Mac, then open Logic and go to the Audio Device window in Preferences. There you should be able to select the interface, and then arm tracks to record and it will record through the interface.

How to record value of field to perform action when saving with new value

Hi,
I have a multi-tabbed form (Forms 6i). I need to include code so that when a field is changed on one tab and is saved, then I need to update some fields on the other tabs.
My first question is: How can I record a copy of the field whenever data is brought into the form (ie: through a query), and then what is the best way to update the other data:
1) Update the database and then requery somehow
2) Update the fields on the other tabs and then commit to the database?
And roughly I how I do it?

Read the on-line help for Database_value. Use :System.record_status to determine if the record is being inserted, then don't get database_value. It is not clear, but I believe on such records, it returns the current value of the item, not a null value. Regardless, it is useless.
If you want to update fields in other blocks in your form automatically based on changes in a different block, you can start a non-repeating timer in a when-validate-item trigger on the field. When the timer expires, you can navigate to the other blocks and to various records, and update the fields in the other blocks. Then when the user commits, all changes will be applied together. The only trick to using a timer like that is that in the commit process, you also need to check to see if the timer exists, and if it does, delete the timer and do the updates to the other tables.

How to record from VB ADO to a CLOB field?

I have a VB program working with OracleXE and I need to record a textbox value (txtOcorrencia.text) to a CLOB field. My VB string is the following one:
With RS
.Open ("SELECT * FROM VAGAS"), DBConn, adOpenStatic, adLockOptimistic
.AddNew
!ocorrencia = txtOcorrencia.Text
But it refuses to record to the CLOB field. I tried to pass some string to it but it gives me a run-time error while trying to save it to Oracle:
Run-time error '-2147467259 (80004005)'
So my question is: how can I record to a CLOB field using VB ADO?

How do we track how many records INSERT/UPDATE/DELETE per day

We have around 150 tables in database. so many members/persons can access these table and every one can have rights to do INSERT,DELETE,UPDATE the records. I wanted to know How many records are UPDATED,INSERTED,DELETED for a day. is it possible to find out.
I have some questions please clarify the doubts.
1> If we create any table, this table gets store in All_OBJECTS/USER_OBJECTS, tabs/tab/user_tables...... we can find out table name,columns what tables were created in database.
2> if we enter records/ delete records / update records in a table. we can able to find corresponding table. Apart from corresponding table . is there any way to find out records.

Schedule a periodic DBMS_STATS.FLUSH_DATABASE_MONITORING_INFO and query USER_TAB_MODIFICATIONS. This view shows DML activity against each table and is updated when database monitoring info is flushed. The flush is automatic but if you need control over the frequency of updates, you can explicitly call the FLUSH.
In 9i you have to "ALTER TABLE table_name MONITORING ;" before you can use this method.
In 10g, this is enabled by default unless STATISTICS_LEVEL is set to BASIC.

Hints and questions on how to do a good battery maintenance

Some minutes ago, my (now) old battery reached the 0%-charge point.
I had bet the MBP could not stay on anymore but instead, surprisingly, it supported the 0-charge "stress point".
I was waiting for it to go to -1% charge but it didn't happen since I installed the new battery, which had arrived minutes before (just in time.. lol).
Now my questions are: how to do a good battery maintenance?
What do you mean with "cycle" ? A discharge-and-recharge cycle?
What do you mean with "calibration" ?

The battery gauge is always an estimate. Your battery consists of many cells ganged together. It is hard to get a good read on battery level because discharge is not perfectly linear, and each cell discharges slightly differently. How many records does JDBC adapter can obtain in one polling?

I need to do an interface between legacy system and SAP ECC, the legacy systems have a DB so i use the jdbc adapter (sender) and receive the information to SAP ECC with proxy, so i need to activate the polling option from my jdbc adapter working as a sender, i read a table with lot of records, and i need to know how many records does jdbc adapter support when the polling is executed, because is necessary read all records from the table and change the status of the processed field.
Is possible to get all the records from that table in one polling interval (50,000 records aprox)?, or i need to do the polling by blocks of records until finish all records from the table?, the second option, i dont have idea how can i do it.

How to record video or use screen capture WHILE capturing audio from Logic??

Hi,
I want to record my self playing guitar and singing using my mac book pro built in camera. I want the audio to come from Logic so I can add whatever effects I want to the vocals. When I say audio from Logic I don't mean recording in Logic and adding it in post. I want it to be on the fly.
What I used to do was use the screen capturing program Snapz Pro. I would screen capture a box around photobooth for the video, and then record while having Logic's audio in the background. It screen captures my entire computers audio. So for example if I get an aim message the bleep would show up in the recording. Or if I raise the volume or lower it the little click sound fx would be in it as well.
Capturing the audio this way let me get Logic's audio effects in my video on the fly. It worked out great....until now! :/
I just got the audio interface "Duet 2". And am using a microphone instead of my mbp's built in one. When ever I tried to record and capture my systems audio - my entire computer would crash. Snapz Pro won't work with the system audio with the interface. It works fine without it though.
I then tried to use Quicktime's new movie recording feature. I see it only gives an option for microphone and now system audio. So I got soundflower to re route the audio but that doesn't help either. This is because when you capture this way you can't hear anything while your capturing. So if I were to record a video and wanted Logics audio in it, I would have to set the output to Soundflower first. So when I record I cant hear myself which defeats the purpose.
So my final question is, how can I record video while having Logic's audio? I don't need to record with the mic, because in Logic the mic audio is going thru the system audio with everything else.
I would like to use a process more similiar to Quicktimes straight movie recording instead of doing an odd way like I used to screen capturing a box around the photobooth screen.

IS the process type "delta infopackage " is executing in the process chain or not? Plz once check in SM37 Tcode . and Why r u running the repair full request infopackage . If u miss any delta records then only u have to run the repair full request . If delta records are not extracted then better to manually extract the delta infopackage.
Plz once check in SM37 Tcode whether the execute infopackage process step is running or not? or any error has occured in that PC.

How to record DVB-S Stream with JavaTV/JMF ?

i'm starting to program with JavaTV and JMF. Now my Question is, how can i record a DVB-S Stream (DVB-Card: Haupauge Nexus) to my hdd?

MHP uses JMF 1.0, which does not include recording functionality. If you want to do this in Java then JMF 2.x includes recording support, but I'm not sure whether there is a JMF implementaiton that supports the Hauppage cards.

Hold down the Option key while you boot your Mac. Then, it should show you a selection of devices. Click your flash drive and it will boot from that.

I would suggest that it depends on how much free space you have on the phone. I have done voice memos of over an hour before, and have read of other users reporting larger ones. I do not believe there is any documented source of what size you can do.
