Question on installing Elements 8

What is the best way to install element 8 if you already have elements 5 on your computer? Is there that many problems with installing 8 while 5 is on your computer or should you delete elements 5 before you install elements 8.

There is no problem in having PSE 5 and PSE 8 at the same time on your machine. Just after installing PSE 8, you would need to convert your catalog to PSE 8 compatible version by launching organizer, so that PSE 8 can use the same catalog file.
Unless there is any acute space crunch, I wouldnt suggest that you need to remove PSE 5. If you are planning to then you can anytime after installing PSE 8 as well.

There are normally two disks. One Windows and One Mac. Ensure you have the correct disk.

As long as you bought a boxed version, yes. You can have two activated installations of PSE. For the boxed versions that can be two macs, two windows computers, or one of each, but downloads are usually limited to two computers on the same platform.

You're welcome. It was not an answer, it was a question, and it could lead to being helpful if you explain why you think you need to uninstall.
As far as uninstalling goes, you will uninstall it like you do for any program, which depends on what kind of operating system you have. If you wish to retain albums and whatnot, maybe the following link can provide some guidance.

Unable to install Elements 12 on Windows 8.1

When I try to install Elements 12 on Windows 8.1, the install fails. It says it needs DirectPlay, but according to Microsoft, that has been depricated. I'm caught in a vicious loop trying to get Elements 12 installed on my PC. What's up with that?

I downloaded the file, but it will not open. It has a .dmg extension, and apparently I don't have the necessary app to unpack it.Help please.

Photoshop Elements 10 installed on my computer. Ready to install elements 12. Will my digital files transfer from 10 to 12?

I have Photoshop Elements installed on my Windows 7, 64 bit computer. I want to install Elements 12. Will my digital files in the Organizer transfer from Elements 10 to 12 with no problems?

If your programs are Photoshop Elements, then you have posted in the wrong forum. This is the Adobe Premiere Elements Forum (video editing), not Adobe Photoshop Elements Forum (photo editing).

If I were doing this I would probably have the two versions of Photoshop Elements on the same computer and convert the Elements Organizer 10 catalog in Elements Organizer 12. (See Elements Organizer 12, File Menu/Manage Catalogs/Catalog Manager/Convert. But, best ask the experts in the Adobe Photoshop Elements Forum.

Help, I've had to re install Elements 11 and now I don't have Orgainzer. How do i get this back? When I click on it from the editor nothing opens and there is no App for it like I had previously. I'm on a Mac

Try this. Uninstall, download from http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/photoshop-elements-10-11-downloads.html and install from the downloaded file using the serial number from your retail version.

Cannot install Elements 10 until I close Dynamiclinkmanager

While installing Elements 10 the installation shuts down and receive the following message: ERROR: DW046: Following Conflicting processes were running -
block:dynamiclinkmanager
I cannot locate the dynamiclinkmanager to shut it down....where is it?? How do I install this program?

This is a new reply to an OLD question. Sorry....I just encountered the problem today trying to apply an Adobe update. But maybe it will be useful to a future reader searching on the same problem.
Most of the replies, even from Adobe people, say to just terminate the dynamiclinkmanager process. I hate terminating any process that I don't know what it does. Maybe the thing has important files open? What could happen if I kill it?.
In my case, I made sure to "Quit" all open Adobe applications (Br, DW, Ai, Ps, Pr, etc). After closing these programs, dynamiclinkmanager "disappeared". So I would suggest making sure there are no open Adopbe apps. If that doesn't work, then nuke the sucker :-)

Transfer and install Elements 9

I have the disc for Photoshop elements 9. My new mini computer doesn't have a disc drive. How do I install Elements 10? Since the product is registered can I download it online?

Sorry I didn't understand your question completely. If you don't have the disc drive, you can always download the software online.
Do you want to install PSE 9,10 or 11? Because if you have the serial numbers for PSE 9, those are not gonna work on PSE 10/11.

I have tried restarting and installing several times and get the same result. I saw a similar question on the forum, but when I checked the font library in the harddrive, I can't tell which folders are the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

For the fonts, the problems would be any font folders that are empty (no fonts in them when you look inside).
Is this the bundled version of PSE and Premiere Elements? If so, see this:

If not, I would manually remove any bits that got installed, then try downloading the trial and installing that. If it works you can just enter your serial number to convert it to the paid version.

Problems installing elements 7

I'm just trying to install elements 7and it's coming up with "the cabinet file 'Data1.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and can not be used" does this mean there is something wrong with the disc or is it my pc?
Also, if i do manage to get it installed in the near future i may be getting a new pc could I uninstall it from my old one and put it on the new one?

The answer to your second question is 'Yes' (install on new PC with the original CD).
Googling for 'Data1.cab' gave me a lot of hits. Based on what I saw, I would start out this way:
Check if Photoshop Elements shows in Windows as an installed program. If it does then uninstall it.
Run the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301).
Reinstall Elements.

It's just one heck of a poor site that keeps going around and around and getting no where.
I am only trying to install elements 13 and it will not accept my serial number............but I am getting a very bad taste for ADOBE and very shortly this product is going to be returned.

It would appear that you are destined for the Adobe Photoshop Elements Forum since your question is related to Photoshop Elements and not Premiere Elements which is the focus program where you have posted.
But, while the arrangements are being made, here are a few things for you to think about if you have not already
1. Reset Tools - Select Brush Tool, then
2. Delete Settings File
Go to Full Editor/Edit Menu/Preferences/General and click on the option "Reset Preferences on Next Launch".
