Question on self service application ... URGENT

gurus,
i have the following requirement :-
1. a vendor comes to site
2. he has not logged in yet
3. he registers himself on the site thru a portal form (the portal form is on the public page)
4. as part of the registration, he/she enters his name, address, e-mail id, the username and the password for the account
what i want is, to grab the information from the table (the form is based of the custom databse table) and create a PORTAL USER with the username and password entered by the vendor when he registerd himself. AND i want to e-mail the vendor notifying that his account has been created.
how would i do this in portal ?
is there anyway i could create a user from behind the scenes and e-mail it to the vendor ?
any help would be appreciated.
thanx
hero

This topic should help for creating the user programitcally: http://technet.oracle.com:89/ubb/Forum83/HTML/000146.html
I don't know about the email too much. I know that there is an SMTP package with iAS. I haven't used it and only briefly glanced at it on technet. Here's the link on it: http://technet.oracle.com/products/emailserver/listing.htm
But maybe someone else will know more about the email.

    Hi,,
Seems like configuration problem at Siebel end.Check following points:-
    1) Are you able to invokde SelfServiceTemplate rule web service from [SOAP UI|http://www.soapui.org/].
    2) Recheck configuration details of custom object manager in siebel as mentioned in Self Service application developer guide.
    3) Recheck Siebel web service url which you have given...

  • Is it possible to track Self Service Application Usage?

We have the need to measure who is doing what in our self service applications. An example would be who has logged into Manager Self Service over the last month, save this data and then begin to do a trend analysis on that data? Also could we also drill down into the responsibilities and do some reporting at the function level. I thought that we initially we could /modify the Audit seeded reports under sysadmin i.e. Signon Audit Responsibilities. They work but it appear they only work on Form driven responsibilities. Also i have looked into the Workflow tables but dont know if this is the direction we want to be going.
So any and all information that could point in the right direction it would be greatly appreaciated

  • Error: Create new Self-Service application with FPM

    Hi,
I'm creating a new self-service application using FPM. I ran into this error when launching the application:
    [email protected]385c385c
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
    - julius

    Hi,
According to your error message, it can be caused by the search service application cannot set up a network share for every query component where the crawlers can dump their data.
For troubleshooting your issue, please make sure the Server service in Services.msc is started, and your account is a member of WSS_WPG group and  WSS_WPG group has full control permission on C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office Servers\15.0\Data\Office
    Server\Applications(if using default locations).

  • Question on Self Service Procurement Scenario?

    Hai friends
Self Service Procurement is used for automatic generation of PR and shop on Behalf of.
So how is SSP possible in creation of PR in extended Classic Scenario
Is SSP possible in Classic Scenario only? If its possible in all scenario then what is the use of Self Service Procurement
    Regards
    krishna

    Hi Krishna,
SSP (Self Service Procurement) scenario is possible in both, Classic and Extended Classic Scenario's. In classic scenario, the follow-on doc. say PO created w.r..t SC will be created in backend system and in case of Extended Classic Scenario, the PO will be created in SRM and a copy will be posted to backend.
PR can be replicated from backend to SRM system in both the cases. It falls under Plan-driven  procurement business scenario.
In extended classic scenario, if you want to replicate the PR to SRM, it can be listed in sourcing cockpit as an external requirement and ca be processed further to follow bidding process in SRM.
In classic scenario, you can configure to create a SC in SRM and transfer it to the backend system to create PR / PO as a follow-on document.
I hope this answers to your question.

    Prashant

How does one find out the table / view name of a particular field in R12 Self Service (Web) applications ?
Is there anything similar to checking the "Record History" in Form based applications?

  • Self service application question ...

    gurus,
i have the following requirement :-
    1. a vendor comes to site
    2. he has not logged in yet
    3. he registers himself on the site thru a portal form (the portal form is on the public page)
    4. as part of the registration, he/she enters his name, address, e-mail id, the username and the password for the account
what i want is, to grab the information from the table (the form is based of the custom databse table) and create a PORTAL USER with the username and password entered by the vendor when he registerd himself. AND i want to e-mail the vendor notifying that his account has been created.
how would i do this in portal ?
is there anyway i could create a user from behind the scenes and e-mail it to the vendor ?
    any help would be appreciated.
    thanx

You should be able to do this via the API. Your best bet is to repeat the question on the Oracle9iAS Portal Security and Login Server forum.

As far as supported platform is asked, you shoud refer to the latest version of the Siebel System Requirements and Supported Platforms for Self-Service Applications aka SRSP .Here is the section http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11886_01/V8/CORE/SRSP_811_SSA/SRSP_81_Supported_Plats7.html#wp1018023 and the only supported platform seems Oracle Application Server 10.1.3.3.
Not sure if the server is not part of the overall licence package, worth checking with your Sales Rep.
