Question on sender agreement

Why doesnt IDOC and HTTP have a sender agreement?

Hi Srinivas,
Even XI Adapter  also doesn't need sender agreement  and Sender Communication Channel like HTTP & IDOC Adapters.Because these adapters stay in ABAP STACK
Remaining other adapers like RFC,FILE,JMS,BC,etc we need to create sender agreement and sender communication channel also including with other creations like receiver agreement, interface determination, receiver determination. Because these adapters stay in JAVA STACK.

  • Adapter don't need Sender Agreement

Hi, Can some one Answer me with the reasons/clarification.
What adapters don’t need Sender Agreement? and Why?
    a) HTTP, IDOC.
    b) IDOC, RFC
    c) IDOC, JMS
    d) JDBC, JMS
    Chandra

    Hi Chandra,
yes now u know that the ans is (a)
    to add above......
In a sender agreement, you define how the message of a sender is to be transformed so that it can be processed by the Integration Engine.
We specify details like the sender interface, sender service, sender namespace in sender agreement.
--> so that when the message comes in integration engine, XI should be able to identify the receiver based on the details we identified in the sender agreement.
<i>In the case of IDOC & HTTP details about the sender like sender service, interface, namespace are part of the payload, ie header details are present.</i>
IDOC and HTTP adapter are the only adapters that sits on the ABAP stack (Rest all adapters r on Java stack). So when messages are posted to these adapters, the message directly goes to the Integration Server. They are pushed from the sender to be recognized directly in Integration server.
There is no need to create an IDoc sender Communication Channel for XI. Instead, the backend SAP system must be configure to send the IDoc to XI.
For HTTP adapter it is not required to have sender agreement. As this adapter is part of Integration Server. SO the message will be automatically put into XI pipeline.

What is ticket? Process flow ticket
Handling tickets is called Issue Tracking system. The errors or bugs forwarded by the end user to the support team are prioritized under three seviority High, Medium and Low. Each and every seviority as got its time limits before that we have to fix the error.
The main job of the supporting consultant is to provide assistance on line to the customer or the organisation where SAP is already implemented for which the person should be very strong in the subject and the process which are implemented in SAP at the client side to understand,to analyse,to actuate and to give the right solution in right time. This is the job of the support consultant.
The issues or the tickets(problems) which are arised is taken care of on priority basis by the support team consultants.
The work process in support projects are given below for your reference.
    1. The customer or the end user logs a call through any tool or by mail (RADIX).
    2. Each one of the support team is a part of support group.
    3. Whenever a customer logs a call he /she has to mention to which work group (by name).
    4. Once the calls came to the work group the support consultant or the team need to send an IR (Initial Response) to the user depending upon the priority of the calls. (Top,High,Med,Low,None)
    5. Then the error is fixed, debugged by the support consultant or the team. Then after testing properly by generating TR(Transport Request through the basis admin)
    6. Then it is informed to the end user/customer/super user about the changes which have moved to the production server by CTS process.
These are the process. In summary, what I understand is that if any configuration or customization is required to solve the issue, then the consultant have to work on DEV Client, then the end user will test it in the QA client and after approval the BASIS consultant has to transport it to the PRODUCTION client.
    An example:
Tickets in SD can be considered as the problems which the end user or the employee in the company face while working on R/3. Tickets usually occur during the implementation or after theimplementation of the project. There can be numerous problem which can occur in the production support and a person who is working in the support has to resolve those tickets in the limited duration, every ticket has the particular deadline alert so your responsibility is to finish it before that deadline.
To begin with , we should give "TICKET" to you for not knowing it.
Here is an eg of a ticket raise:
End user is not able to
    1. Create Sales order for a customer from a New plant , since shipping point determination is not happened . ( Without Shipping point the document becomes INCOMPLETE and he will not be able to proceed further like DELIVERY, BILLING).
He raises a ticket and the priority is set in one of the below:
    1. Low 2. Medium 3. High.
Now you need to solve this ticket. You would analyze the problem and identify that the SP configuration has to be done for the new plant.
You would request a transport for DEV CLIENT to BASIS. You do the change and Request one more Transport to BASIS for QA client. The End user will test the same by creating a sales order for the new plant and approve it.
Finally, you request a transport to move the changes to PRODUCTION. Once the change is deployed in production the TICKET is closed. What I have given is a small example. You would get some real issues with severity HIGH in your day-day support.

  • Sender Agreements for HTTPS

    Hi
I am aware that there that there is no Sender Agreement necessary for sender Http scenario, maybe a silly question but why in that case is there a Sender option on the HTTP communication channel ?. Also for HTTPS if there is no sender agreement (hence no Communication Channel) then where can HTTPS be assigned as the Security Level on the channel, i.e. the "Security Check for Incoming Messages option".
    Thanks
    Damien

    Hi!
According to my knowledge in XI there the HTTP Sender service is in disable and eventhough u can create in XI. but now in Latest version like PI 7.1 the service is enable
In mostly in some real time projects there are some requirements like they need some security purposes in that cases mostly they need a Sender agreement mandatory for security purpose.
Inorder to satisfy these requirements they are configuring HTTP sender and hence Sender agreement and but they are selecting as HTTPS protocol and while selecting HTTPS protocol kindly note one point that your network Firewall settings needs to be in open and they needs to all the flow of messages.
I hope now you are free from confusion.

  • Problem with sender agreement

    Hi,
We are trying to send a file from the file system (using file channel) to XI. However we are getting the error as " No suitable sender agreement" found error in the communication channel monitoring in RWB. However the sender agreement is very much there and is activated also.
    Any idea on this ?

    Hi,
try creating your scenario with a integration directory wizard

  • Certificates are not listed in Sender Agreement

    Hi,
I have a message level key pair created on an adpater engine(say, ABC) under a Keystore view of type "USER". On target PI( where i am configuring to recieve the message from a source PI), I have a sender agreement where in i am decrypting the message using the key created on adapter engine(This adapter engine is not a center adapter engine. Its a deifferent server than the targer PI).
In the SOAP sender adapter channel i have selected adapter engine as ABC instead of centre adapter engine. And the same SOAP sender channel is used in Sender agreement.
When i am trying to put the certificate details in sender agreement with the F4 help, certificates that i have created on ABC are not listed on target PI. Other certificates(under keystore view of type "System") are listed.
What could be the problem here?

    Hi,
I think the problem is due to corresponding certifice wrongly add to list in visual administrator, generally keystoreentry and keystore view etc lists available.  Better to check with basis team your required certificate was added to which list.  Some time the problem is due to inside certificate data also for the check with certificate people they will sort out easily.
I have faced same problem in one of my project, i have raised question to sap.  They have suggested below ways to sort out problem
the F4 help of the Integration directory will not recognize the
Certificate if the Subjectkeyidentifier field of the certificate is leftunfilled . The issue can be dealt with in 3 different ways .
    1. Type in the Certificate name with out the use of F4 help (OR)
    2. Regenerate the certificate with a valid value for the
    subjectkeyidentifier . (OR)
    3. Edit the adapter meta data which is present in the Integration
repository and get the F4 help working .
For this, remove the following tag from the adapter meta data file
    <HelpServiceQueryAttribute>
    <Name>X509Extension</Name>
    <Value>SubjectKeyIdentifier</Value>
    </HelpServiceQueryAttribute>
This will be inside the <HelpServiceQueryAttributes> tag .
This method has the disadvantage that any upgrade will result in the adapter metadata being overwritten and hence the above change will
    be reverted.

  • Sender agreement & communication channel not needed in case of IDOC adapter

    Hello everyone ,
I am new to xi , as far as i know a communication channel cannot be created in ID when using IDOC adapter , the answer for this question is like , the idoc adapter resides on the integration server & not part of j2ee AF .
Can some one explain me in the terms of a laymen , its not clear to me.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Reena.

    Hi ! Reena
IDOC adapter resides on Integration server, so Integration engine takes care of the conversion format from IDOC to XML, hence there is no need for sender Adapter .Also since its residing on Integration server you can directly post the message in the Integration engine.
well lemme explain a little bit,the main reason for sender agreement is to associate namespace with the sender adapter, now when we shoot IDOC from R/3 it already contains its standard SAP namespace so no need of sender agreement.
now comes the sender CC,main use of sender CC is to identify the sending system and the adapter.the IDOC header contains details of all the this,so again there is no need for sender CC
loook at this thread discuss the same

  • ** Sender Agreement is required for RFC but not IDoc, XI, & HTTP.. Why ?

    Hi Friends,
All we know that since IDoc, XI adapters running on Integration Engine (SAP WAS 6.40), Sender Agreement is need not required.
Since RFC is proprietary document for SAP like IDoc, why we are creating Sender Agreement for RFC adpater ? (We know that RFC adpater is running on Adapter Engine, so that ...). Some of our guys asking me this question.
Why is this difference (IDoc adapter running on Integration Engine & RFC adapter is running on Adapter Engine) ? Anyboday can clarify the exact reason on this ...
    Kind regards,
    Jegathees P.

    Hi,
      RFC Adapter:
RFC adapter can abe to  manage metadata while using the Jco call. This turns the RFC data to RFC xml message.
    IDOC Adapter:
But Loading the metadata for IDOC we should create a port and rfc destination.IDOC adapter and metadata container placed in integration server before and after the pipeline step.metadata container converts the IDOC to IDOCxml.IDOC adapter converts the IDOC xml to native xml format.Using idx2 we uploaded the IDOC metadata with the help of RFC destination and port.

  • No Sender Agreement (Specific)

    Dear All
I have gone through SDN forums and found a number of threads where this problem is discussed.
    Most of the answers include
Re - activate ID objects : not always helpful
Delete and recreate ID objects : not possible in production environments
Cache refresh: does not solve problem most of the time.
I have very specific question regarding the problem
What exactly is the reason for a problem saying "No Sender Agreement Found"
Instead of solution let us have some inputs on the cause of this problem so that we can concentrate on the root cause for this.

    Hi,
on what I understand you trigger EXTERNALLY a sender Communication Channel.
To solve your issue, for each triggering, your scheduler tool has to do a : STOP-START-<Tempo>-STOP of your sender CC.
The first STOP, it's because before to do a START, you cannot be in status "Started". So you have to stop It.
See in CC monitoring, when CC is started, you cannot select the "START" button but only the "STOP" button.
Note: I think the reson why you have your error message (sorry I have not my doc to check the exact SAP message).
The Last STOP, it's just a "security". If you do not do it and if your J2EE server have been to be restarted, then all CC which are in status "START" are started... on so the CC are run at a non-desired time. To avoid that, I suggest you to do the last STOP, for instance, with a <Tempo> of  60 / 90s after the START... It's depend of the connection to your legacy... let time to PI to pick-up the file before to do the last STOP.
I did these three steps since several years, and it works perfectly.
    Regards.
    Mickael

  • Sender Agreement SWIFT Configuration

Hi Guys, I need your expertise regarding the SAP SWIFT configuration, i am following a PDF file (ConfGuide_SWIFT_602_v0_4.pdf).
Basically, this is what I have done so far.
    1. Create a business service and modifying the receiver tab page according to the pdf file
    2. Create the receiver and communication channels in the created business service.
    3. During the creation of sender agreement, it states that the interface to be used is SwiftMessage, however, from the list of choices, it is not visible, I think this is due to the fact that in the design, the message interface SwiftMessage is declared as abstract.
The question is, is there a way to get pass this without changing the category of the message interface?
    Thanks!

When you create business services, you have to manually add the interfaces in the sender/receiver tabs of the service page. Once you add them here, you will be able to see them in the available interfaces.
However, sender agreements are not needed for the abstract interfaces. You might have to recheck if you have wrongly defined your interfaces.

  • Sender Agreement endpoints URL - is it configurable?

    Hello All
I have two PI servers: DEV and QA. DEV works ok, but after transporting objects from DEV I've noticed, that SOAP Sender Agreement gives WSDL which contains service endpoint url from DEV system. Main WSDL Url is correct - from QA.
Are those endpoinds somehow configurable? How to make this WSDL correct, that QA serves those services?
    TIA
    Best Regards
    Maciej

    Hi Maciej,
    answering your question indirectly
it's not PI that you're looking for right now but your sender application
it's the sender application that needs to be able to determine the URL (server) correctly (for dev,qa, prd)
as you only generate a proxy for it once (on the dev system), right ?
so it should be possible to change it in the sender app and not in the receiver I believe - at least that's how it works in simplest cases (no SR etc.)

  • Sender Agreement Publishing

    Hi,
I have a question about accessing a sender agreement's published web service.  I have a scenario where I have published the sender agreement to my service registry and can successfully test that webservice (endpoint) through WSNavigator.
The problem that I am having is that I can not see the webservice in Visual Composer or Web DynPro.  This is most likely due to the fact that I do not have the right destination templates configuration set in NWA on my CE server.
Can any of you provide the proper configuration settings for this so that I can use the webservice?
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the response.
We have used that guide to successfully access web service providers from ECC based systems, but when we followed the same strategy for our PI system we have no luck.
Whats strange is that we can publish the service from the builder in PI, using their tool, and access it in the service registry.  Testing works fine and we can see the message flow the way we are expecting.
However when try to access the web service outside of the SR, like in Visual Composer or Web DynPro, we are not able to see the service.
This makes me think it has something to do with the ability to query the SR or that the binding is somehow protected so that it is not visible.

  • Concepts and Integration Directory ( Channels/Sender agreements)

    Hi All,
I have one question on the concepts and Configuration for the Run time scenario in XI.
    I am new to XI.
I am done with the designing interfaces, Communication channels (adapter types for outbound and inbound) and the integration scenario.
For the <b>Interface mapping</b> Communication channels are assigned.
In the Integration scenario, Mapping defined above is assigned.
Now in configuration, I imported the scenario and generated the configuration Objects.
Do I have to define communication channel again here for the collaboration profile?
Why is the communication channel coming again here?
Also what is the sender agreement for? When should I define it? If possible any example?
    Please help me.
    Regards,
    Meher

    Hi All,
First of Let me thank all for your responses.
I have defined File adapters for sender and receiver through <b>communication channel Template</b> in the Builder.
Now when I import the <b>Integration scenario</b> and create the configuration objects, Communication channels are not getting created from the template. ( In the Connection phase)
When I click on generate <b>Communication channel automatically</b> in the Connections Step a <b>Http connection Channel</b> is created instead.
Should I have to create these manually or will the template server my purpose to import in the configuration?
    Regards,
    Meher
