Question on Siebel/JDE integration

I am a long time Siebel developer and am fairly new to JDE EnterpriseOne. My company has initiated a switch from Siebel 7.5.3 Service to JDE. The idea is to convert the Siebel data into the JDE database, but I am questioning this approach.
Does anyone have experience with either converting Siebel to JDE or performing an integration via Fusion?

I'm new to siebel enviornment, I installed siebel and try to configure bip integration part
Step 1:
I stoped siebel services, and then I copied the siebel srf file to siebel tools driectory and then imported pix files and compiled it
and then I try to configure outbound service, deleted existing xmpl integration files and imported wsdl file and then i compiled. Now My quesiton is Before start the siebel service, should i copy compiled srf file to siebel server directory and start the server using by this srf ? and then configure inbound service

Yes, you need to copy the compiled srf file to the objects/<language> folder of the Siebel Server.

JDE Integration Kit Benefits

Hi Experts,
We are using BusinessObjects Enterprise SP3. We want to extract information from a JDE Enterprise One system. We have the JDE Integration Kit already installed and we are using Crystal Reports to elaborate the reports. We want to know what is the real benefit of using this connector?
Our question is because using ODBC we can access to the tables and views almost in the same way that using this connector.
Even we tought that maybe using this connector the links between tables will be easy to create but we didnt find this advantage
Another thing that we read was the benefit of using the same autenthication of JDE to access the data, but addittionally of this point there is another benefit?

Hi Scorp,
Open up the Designer hit F1 key to get to help, then search on JDE and you'll find info on what is required. Then create a new report and expand More Data Sources and you'll see the JDE driver is listed.

Questions on SCOM -SCVMM integration

Hi All,
I have some questions on SCOM -SCVMM Integration. Please help me in answering them.
1) Can multiple SCVMM servers be integrated with the same SCOM Management Server?
2) Does uninstalling an older version of the SCOM Console on the SCVMM server require a reboot of the server?
3) Does installing the SCOM Console on the SCVMM server require a reboot of the server?
4) For what purpose is the SCOM Operations Console used on the SCVMM server; is it just required to install the binaries to connect with the Management Server?

Questions relating to Groupware Integration (Outlook)

I have few questions relating to groupware integration for Outlook:
Q1) The "Relate to CRM" option in outlook add-in for end user is available only in client side integration? Is it not available for server sider integration (i.e. in server side, end user cannot directly assign CRM account or Transaction to object in outlook the way it is done in client side)?
Q2) Is there any end user interface (like add-on) available in server side?
Q3)In client side - Can the outlook add-on for SAPCRM be enhanced for different business logic or look n feel?

1) Yes the Relate to SAP CRM function is part of Client-side groupware only.
2) The Add-in is only available with Client-side groupware.
3) The Add-in cannot be customized. However the results can be influenced by parameters in transaction GWIPROFILE.
The information displayed in the Business information Pane can be changed.

I'm going to say it all depends on what you are trying to do.
If all you are talking about is bringing Captivate movies you have
created into RoboHelp, this part does indeed seem to work. As long
as you have no issues using Captivate otherwise, nothing should
surface.
On the other hand, if you are referring to the touted ability
to launch Captivate from inside RoboHelp in order to create a
recording, my experience has been that it doesn't work as well as
I'd have hoped. Captivate does indeed launch and I am able to
record and do things in Captivate, but the silly Publish button is
disabled (many refer to it as "grayed out") so it does me
absolutely no good if I cannot publish into Flash so as to bring
back into RoboHelp.
Sadly, the ability to Right-click and edit the .SWF using
Captivate simply doesn't seem to work.
Lastly, while the Captivate output does seem to allow itself
to be added to a topic properly, if you are using a skin, for some
reason the size changes to something much smaller than what you
intended after inserting. So I'd suggest not using the Borders
feature if you are planning this. This will result in a single .SWF
output. Either that, or tweak the content as needed after adding
it.
Aside from that, things seem fine. Just keep the applications
separated and use them individually. Then mix the output as
desired.

I was working on Sibel TPM - demantra Integration.
I have Demantra 7.2 , Siebel 7.8 and Oracle Data Integrator : 10.1.3.4
In order to integrate Demantra and Siebel I wanted to Install "Siebel Demantra integration Pack " .
Is there any Installation document available in Metalink/Oracle Site.
What are the mandatory steps I need to follow before installing this software.
Also Is there any document ( Like Mapping Document) from where We can find out what Information we need to fetch from siebel and transfer to demantra and vice versa.
Please provide your inputs on this.

Issue with SIEBEL - XI Integration with SOAP

Hi,
I have an issue with the integration of SIEBEL and XI via SOAP.
In the scenario Siebel calls a synch Web Service on XI. The provided WSDL was implemented on Siebel and when Siebel calls the Web Service the message is received correctly by the XI SOAP Sender Adapter and I can see the message in the Message Monitoring (SXMB_MONI).
The issue is during the mapping as the payload does not seem to comply with the structure XI expects in the message interface. When I load the payload of the SOAP Request send by Siebel into the Message Mapping Test Tool, all fields below the Message Type are in red. I found out that the problem lies in the way the namespace is addressed.
The payload I receive from Siebel that is not working in the mapping looks like this:

The ony difference between the two is that the second messages uses a prefix (kun) for the namespace while the first does not use it, although it is correct from an XML syntax perspective.

Why don't you try and create a schema (XSD) which will prefix kun to the input, instead of using the message type created by XI.

Siebel BIP Integration Objec for Parent, Child and Grand Child

Hi,
I 'm trying to create a one report for displaying Parent, Child and Grand Child.
Service Request
- Quote
- Quote Item.
Successfully create the BIP Integration object and generated the xml file. problem here is when trying to include the fields in BIP desktop word, not able to see the grand child fields, could see only the parent and child fileds and for grand child only 'ListOfQuoteItem' text.
Could some one please let me know the reason for this behavoir and wherther BIP supports 3 levels.
Is there any Out of Box Siebel report showing parent, child and grandchild.

One Siebel Adapter Upsert operation should be sufficient to insert the parent and child. In the Integration object definition, you define the Template child instances with the Parent of Template. i.e
You define Template first as an Integration Component and then define
Template child instances to have a Parent as Template.

Siebel SSO Integration with Novell eDirectory

I am wondering if anyone on this forum has worked with integrating a SSO solution using Novell eDirectory and Siebel. I have personally worked on SSO integrations with Siebel using Cleartrust and Siteminder and they are all basically the same concept however, I am facing issues trying to get the Novell SSO solution to work with Siebel.
I am using the standard LDAP Security adapter and I can make a basic connection into Siebel using LDAP. When implementing SSO I am using a "header" value and a custom userspec name that is different then then "Remote_Use" name mentioned in the Siebel SSO documentation. With SSO turned on I am successfully able to authenticate and almost get all the way into the home page of Siebel before the IE browser crashes. The SWSE log files, interestingly enough, show that my userspecsource is equal to header and that my userspec is correct and then I see the SISNAPI connection occurring between the Siebel We Server and the Siebel AOM but then after the IE browser crashes I see the SWSE log which then tries to picks up Siebel's default userspec " Remote_User" value which is not confiugred or turned on anywhere from within the application. I was just wondering if anyone else had faced similar issues when integrating Siebel into Novell eDirectory for SSO. I have also reviewed the configuration on Novell's side and they are protecting the correct object manager and are also using the same exact userspec name as what we have defined within the eapps.cfg of Siebel. sorry for posting this in this forum, but i didnt find any other way to know this, since i dont know where to find experts to answer this.
I have worked 2 years and a half in Incident support and implementation using siebel tools (7.7, 8.0,8.1) I made workflows, Eai, EIM, applets, bcs, eScript and all the other configuration in tools (consultant job)
I received a job offer last week and I took it, this job is in the Support line of business and is about Siebel Technical architecture, performance tuning, components, alerts, support integration with other services, troubleshooting and monitoring production environment but nothing about siebel tools.
I don't know nothing about this, and they will train me.
but I'm most worried about my career.
I want become a project leader in a future, I don't know anything about this type of career in the Support LOV.
is worth it?, there is offers in the market for this position or is a waste of time?, is more rentable over time than siebel tools configuration?.

Siebel Publisher Integration

I am trying to cretate the updated PublicReportService by importing WSDL in Siebel Tools. Unfortunately, I get the following error:

Further investigation of the issue makes to seem that the issue is data-driven. For a few records, the BI Publisher report fails to indicate invalid username and password and for a few other records, it generates successfully.
Any ideas?

Stupid question: Adjusting brightness with integrated GPU on nforce2

The monitor I use is very dark, and unfortunately, the drivers that I downloaded for the integrated GeForce4 MX don't have any way to increase the brightness or gamma that I know of (admittedly I don't know much about this).
The tnt2 ultra I used prior to this system had a slider right in the advanced graphics option in display properties. When I go to the GeForce4 MX panel of the advanced display options, I do see a slider for brightness in the video overlay submenu, but those don't work.
My question is, is there a way to increase the gamma/brightness? I already have my monitor turned up all the way on brightness. It's so dark on this system that some games are unplayable.

I install the gforce driver from nvidia's website. Their everything driver(its like Via's 4in1) includes the integrated gpu driver. It does contain controls that work for gamma etc. Go to display properties, advanced, gforce4 mx integrated gpu. A submenu should pop out to the left- if not press additional properties, or if you see a little green arrow pointing left press it. Click on nview display mode. Click on device settings, and then color correction. There you are! They don't make it easy. Sorry if this is not to clear. Sometime not so good my english :P
