Hello, I just finally downloaded the new software and when the phone sank it only partically downloaded my data.  It didnt return to orignial setting and it has some current data but the rest is missing.

Hello,laevy!
I suggest you can backup your iPod content to computer firstly. One computer just can sync one iPod at one time. What you need is iPod tool to manage your iPod.
By following this [iPod Transfer Reviews|http://www.softwarebbs.com/wiki/IPodTransfer_SoftwareReviews], you can know more how to transfer iPod files to computer easily.

  • Few questions about syncing

    Hi,
I have a few questions about syncing. Since this is my first iphone and apple product, I'm not familliar with it. My mother bought the tomtom app for navigation. And she said that it has 3 uses (for 3 different devices). Now the app is in her library on her computer. So if i try to sync with her library, it will erase all my previous apps. How come? Also I'm planning to use a laptop in college so I'll have to sync it with that.
What should I do to keep my apps?

All 3rd party apps - paid and free apps include DRM protection which is tied to the iTunes account used to download the app. This is required by 3rd party app developers to prevent people from stealing from them with paid apps. If not for this, you could pay for and download the TomTom app which is not cheap and all your friends and family members with an iPhone could install the app on their iPhone without paying for it, which in effect is stealing.
There is no device limit for the number of iPods and iPhones that can be synced with the same iTunes library on the same computer, but in regards to all iTunes content - music, movies, tv shows, and 3rd party apps, an iPhone can be synced with an iTunes library on a single computer only, and photos can be transferred from a single computer only. When transferring iTunes content and photos from another computer, all iTunes content and photos transferred from a different computer will be erased from the iPhone first.

  • Question about syncing multiple ipods to one iTunes library

I have an iPod touch (2nd gen Ver 3.1.3) that I sync to my computer. My daughter recently got an iPod touch (2nd gen Ver 4.0) that was under her father's account. I reset her iPod in order to put it under my iTunes store account. Next I synced her iPod with my computer adding only the items she wanted (games mostly and a few songs).
iTunes didn't seem to have a problem with our devices being different versions. So far so good. I have only synced her device once and haven't synced mine since. We have both purchased apps straight to our iPods and they aren't backed up.
    My questions are:
    1. Before syncing, will I have to go check everything I want every time in iTunes?
    2. We use some of the same apps and games. Will the game data and/or app data be written by another players data? Can you tell I'm really just concerned about my TapFish score?
I'm holding off on syncing until I know the answers.

well, it would be better to keep everything checked in your library and instead create separate playlists for each mobile device.

you can use as many mobile devices as you want with a single iTunes library. iTunes treats each device separately.
i have two Nano's, an iPod Touch, and an iPad syncing with the same library.

  • Question re: syncing with Itunes in preparation for transfer of data to iphone 6

Hi,  I have an iPhone 4s that I have never synced to iTunes.  I've never synced it because it is my understanding that all the music on my  PC in iTunes would be copied to my iPhone. I have  a huge iTunes library that is much bigger than the space I have on my iPhone.
    My questions are:
    1.  Am I right in assuming that everything in my PC iTunes goes to my iPhone when I sync?
    2.  Is there any way to sync without copying everything to my iPhone?
And here are a few more questions:
    1.  It is recommended to update to IOS8 prior to transferring data to iPhone 6?
    2.   I have heard that using iCloud to transfer data to new iPhone does NOT transfer apps or passwords.  Is that true??
    Any help much appreciated!

Have you had Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes - this was selected the last time you synced your iPhone with iTunes a couple of months ago?
I have Sync Apps and Automatically sync new apps checked. Both have been checked every time I sync'd since I got my phone.
It deleted apps that I know were already in my iTunes, since they were apps I have had practically since the day I purchased my iPhone.
The apps in your iTunes library on your computer don't need to be downloaded again.
When I sync'd it deleted all the apps in my iTunes library as well. They were there previously, but now they are not.
You can view your iTunes account with iTunes - Store > View My Account. Check Purchase History.
You can re-download an app with iTunes on your computer and you won't be charged again for a purchased app as long as you use the same iTunes account to re-download the app that was used to purchase the app.
Ok, so this tells me what I have purchased, but it doesn't seem to allow me to do this. I checked my iTunes account and have confirmed that I have purchased a specific app, and using that same iTunes account I tried to download the app but it tells me that my credit card will be charged if I wish to continue. Will it actually be charged? And, yes, I'm positive that it is the same iTunes account. I am only signed into one and did this all from the same computer and same iTunes.

  • Question re syncing between PSE9 and online library

I'm using PSE9 under Win7. Don't ask me how, but my hard drive and library at photoshop.com/tools/organizer are out of sync, with photos on the web site that are gone from my hard drive. I need them back. I stopped syncing when I discovered this. My question: if I restart syncing, will I lose from the web library the photos that are missing on my hard drive, or will those photos be deleted from the web library?
If they'll be deleted from the library as well, can you tell me how I can rescue my pix?

You will need to authorize the new computer in itunes.
Then, I would follow [these instructions|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2297208]

  • More questions on syncing iPad to iTunes

I have been through the recent responses to the question about how to sync; I'm not computer literate and I got hung up on the first step: how do you connect the iPad to iTunes to start the process? If I can understand this, I will try to follow the steps suggested and use the "transfer" feature and hope for the best. Also, If there is a site where the syncing procedure is discussed step by step, I would appreciate it.
    Thanks, jwizardp

Apple doesn't support WiFi syncing at this time - why? Send Steve an email and perhaps he'll tell you. (Unless he's too busy answering stupid questions about the iPhone 4 antenna.) Seriously? None of us knows why but I'd guess that among other things, Apple hasn't gotten WiFi syncing perfected to the point where it is a) easy for even noobs, b) reliable, c) secure, and d) doesn't corrupt the iPad if syncing fails
Seriously - look at all the questions and problems people have with syncing. Then look at all the questions and problems people have with WiFi. Combine, shake and "oh no"!

  • Questions async-sync bridge with JMS

    Hi all
SAP recommends using JMS rather than BPM to make async-sync bridge or sync-sync bridge. But how to use it in real life?
For example, I have an async RFC function to call a sync SOAP function and the sync response  should be passed to a mail receiver. I know how to use BPM to achieve this scenario. But how should we use JMS or can we use JMS to do the same thing?
Another question: If we use SAP own JMS service to make async-sync scenario, we need a sender JMS adapter and a receiver JMS adapter. Are the sender and receiver connected to the same queue in JMS or different queues?
    Thanks!

  • Question about syncing two different iPads on 1 iMac?

Hey all, I bought two iPad 2's today (both gifts, 1 for my mom and 1 for my dad). Bought it for them because they're probably too old at this stage for me to teach them to use a desktop efficiently. iPad is so easy for them to use the internet and listen to their music which is most important.
My question is, I don't have an iPad myself nor any iOS devices. Maybe I'll buy an ipad in a few months or so. However I do own the only computer in the house and that's my iMac. I was going to sync both my mom and dad's iPads to my Mac, and put their songs from my iTunes library on their iPads respectively. Will I incure any problems trying to do this?
I don't want my mom and dad's iPads to be identical and I want to sync different pictures and songs and stuff on their ipads. I want it to be their own individually.
What steps should I take to do this? I've never really synced any iOS products before but I pick up on this stuff pretty quickly. Made the transition from a Windows desktop to a Mac easily and would do it all over again!

How to Use Multiple iDevices with One Computer

  • Question PLEASE:  Syncing files with i-pad and a p.c.

Hi, so I know how to get movies from i-tunes to my ipad. I'm in i-tunes on the movie tab. I have 10 movies in my library, and all ten are checked. I sync, and all the movies go to my i-pad. So far that is great.
Later, I add a new movie. Back in i-tunes, I now have an 11th movie. 10 are already checked, so I now check the 11th, and the syncing begins.
However, ALL eleven movies get re-synced. I simply want i-Tunes to add the NEW (11th) movie to the existing 10 on the i-Pad. How do I get i-tunes to realize basically "these 10 are already on the i-pad, so I just need to add the new one"
It is too time-consuming to have the entire library re-added each time, when I only need the new one added. (by the way, if I un-check the original 10 and only click the new 11th, of course that only sends the 11th to my i-pad and the 10 I already had on there are now gone.)
I'd appreciate anyone's help, and thanks so much.

Update on my own question. I'll give Apple employees an A for effort, but still got nowhere. I made an appointment at the Genius Bar at the Apple Store and went in with this question. The clerk told me she could not help me unless I brought my computer into the store. I said I'm simply asking a question about my settings and she doesn't need my computer. But she had no clue. She then said I could call Apple help.
I spent 20 minutes on the phone with Apple Support that afternoon. The phone clerk tried, and he put me on hold to go talk to his manager. Finally he came back and said that the best way to do this is to sync the movies one at a time. I wanted to cry, but I was laughing too hard.
As slow as my problem is, their solution would make it even slower! oh well. I'll keep trying.

  • Question re: syncing iPhone 4 to a new computer.

    Hello everyone-
This may be a silly question, but I just want to make sure I've got all my bases covered before I try this ...
I previously synced my iPhone with a copy of iTunes on my desktop computer. Although the iTunes software was installed on the desktop's "C" drive, *the actual iTunes ITL and database files, along with all the media files, were located on an external hard drive*, "F" -- specifically, under "F:/My iTunes."
My desktop crashed, so I now need to sync with my laptop.
Now, presumably, as long as I ensure that the external hard drive still appears as drive letter "F" on my laptop, there will not be any problems with iTunes reading the library files and linking up all my media.
However, what I'm not so sure about is what will happen when I plug in my iPhone. Will it recognize that this is the same library that I have always synced with, and it won't matter that it's on a different computer? Or, will the fact that it's on a different computer lead to problems for me?
Thanks in advance for any help or advice!

You will need to authorize the new computer in itunes.
Then, I would follow [these instructions|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2297208]

  • Question re: syncing User Accounts between 2 machines wirelessly. Possible?

I'm soon to take delivery of a 24" iMac and I plan to have 2 User accounts on there for myself and my partner. My partner also has a G4 iBook.
My question is, is there anyway that my partner can sync her account (documents and settings) on her iBook with her account on the iMac? ie. if she starts a Word document on one machine, then moves to the other machine and syncs, can she continue to edit the document, and vice versa?
Is there something in OS X or third party that would facilitate this?
    Any advice much appreciated.
    Neil

We do use portable accounts. This is so that we don't tie up the network letting users work directly from their network accounts. We also need to have the ability of our users to work at different computers, but still get access to their own stuff. We have it set up so that when a user logs onto another computer for the first time, he is asked if he wishes to create a portable home directory. We have them answer "yes". I think at that time it then brings down from their network account all their files and settings so that the new computer will look like any other computer that they already have worked at. This appears to creat what is called a mobile account on the computer. We also have syncing set up to sync at login and logout. This, hopefully will sync up their network directory to any changes made at different computers and thus make those changes appear on any other computer that they work at. Sometimes the user gets a message that their network account has changed since last logon and ask if they wish to sync to their network account or their local account. We normally tell them to sync to their network account, assuming that it has the newest changes. None of our users ever work offline from our network so their network account should always be the most recent version of any files. This is assuming that the syncing is working properly. Does this make any sense? Does it sound like we are doing this properly or is there a better, more efficient procedure?

  • Question:Channel Sync with PBX and Reset Channel on Gateway

    Hello.
There are several gateways(c2851 with 12.3(11)T8, ISDN E1 PRI Card) in our voip network.
    the first,
I tried to make busy some specific channel to block user's call setup.
I usually use "isdn b-channel x" under int serial 1/0:15.
But, this time, PBX(NEAX) technician told me, he can't see the busy channel, made by gateway, in his PBX system.
So I think, Both of them can't sync E1 channel.
Thus, eventhough the gateway made busy some specific channel, PBX can't recognized the busy status of the channel made by gateway.
Let me know, how can I check to resolove the problem?
    the second,
Sometime, Between Gateway and PBX have problem, but i don't know why.
To resolove the problem, I tried to reset channel using "isdn busy b_channel x" under int se 1/0:15.
after that reuse usingn "no isdn busy b_channel x" under int se 1/0:15."
But , i think, this way, using busy channel, is not reset status, just only making busy and then making idle.
When i shutdown and then no shutdown under voice-port, the all channel become initial status.
    But all calls disconnect.
Please let me know, how can i make initial status some specific channel, not using shut, no shut under voice-port, but gain same effect..
    Reagard,
    John

For the first question, instead on 'isdn busy', you can make use of 'isdn service' command. It takes an individual B channel or an entire PRI interface out of service or sets it to a different channel service state that is passed in to the switch.

  • General question about syncing/photos

maybe this is the most ridiculous question i can ask, but i just can't grasp syncing photos.
say i have photos on my phone and photos in my iphotos and itunes is set up to sync photos with iphoto, will the photos on my phone just be added to my iphoto or will the iphone photo gallery be made to replicate my iphoto gallery?
i have lots of photos on my iphone i would love to separate into different galleries on my iphone.
i've also had an issue where lots of photos seem to have gone missing from my phone after syncing ant they are no where to be found...
i'm just generally not having a fun experience dealing with my photos on my iphone and through iphoto as i never feel like i have full control over where the files end up and how they are moved...

The photo sync process is ONE -WAY - computer to iphone. You go to the photo tab and select the folders/albums that you would like to sync. Those folders/album will be reflected on your iphone ( but in lower resolution) You cannot sync these photos back to your computer. The iphone is NOT a backup device.
Pics taken/saved with iphone ( Camera Roll) should be imported ( as you would import from any digital camera) to your computer regularly. You can then organize and sync them to iphone.

  • Need help please!  (Question around syncing, getting a new iphone & content

    Hi Folks,
Hope someone can answer some questions for me.
    1. I attempted to sync my iphone last night and it says it is sync'd to another computer. I tried all of my computers in my home and all of them say this. If I sync it with the computer it says it will erase data. What does it erase? just songs? I'm really worried about my contacts and downloaded (paid for) content.
    2. I ordered a 3GS and am excited to have it. How do I transfer all my content over to the new phone?
    3. I am also wondering about the purchased content on my iphone will I be able to transfer my licenses?
    4. Can I use my iphone for anything after I disconnect the service?
    thanks!

Yes, you can transfer the SIM if the used phone you purchase is either an AT&T iphone or an unlocked GSM iPhone.
Yes, you can remove the SIM with the power on.
Be careful in buying that used iPhone from eBay. If it is Activation Locked you will never be able to use it: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5818

  • Multiclip multi questions (audio question and syncing question)

I have two questions concerning multiclip editing:
    1. How do you select the audio from one angle to remain the audio throughout as opposed to the audio track changing every time you select a different video source?
    2. If one camera in a three camera set-up stops recording for a technical issue and then goes back up, is there a way to sync both of those files to one angle of a multiclip? If not, is there a way to make them separate angles and sync via input on three angles and on output for the fourth angle?
    Thanks in advance.

    1. In the Viewer's Playhead Sync Menu (upper center), select "Video"
    instead of "Video + Audio".
    2. Sorry, neither of your ideas will work. Multiclips work with actual media
clips, so two clips will be two angles; and the sync method (in, out, timecode)
is the same for all clips.
I suggest you assemble the two files from the camera in a sequence (using
identical settings as the clips), sync them up exactly (with a little space
between them), and export them using the same settings to make a new clip,
which you can then import and use for your multiclip.
    Have fun!

  • Calendar question - not syncing Gmail

I recently created a new Gmail account. My old Gmail account is my Apple ID, so everything was synced to that. I have the Gmail app set up as my new email account now, but it will not sync the calendar. In settings, under Gmail, it shows the correct email, and calendars are turned "on." Why is it not finding my calendar updates though? Is it because my Apple ID is my old email? I've linked the two email accounts, shared calendars with both accounts, but it's still not working
    Suggestions???
    Thanks!

Somehow you must be missing a detail, there's no reason for the Calendar app to not see the GMail calendar if the GMail account has been created and Calendar setting is turned on.
In re-reading your posts there are a few fishy things:
1- Your Apple ID has no relation to this.  Even if your old GMail address is being used as your Apple ID that will have no effect on your Calendar.  The key question is, in Settings do you still have this old e-mail address set up as an account?  If so, delete this old GMail account from Settings/Mail if you're not using it.  Deleting this account will have no effect on your ability to buy things from the iTunes store.  You should only have the GMail account you're using entered into Settings/Mail.  Once you do that, make sure that Calendar is turned ON for this account, and make sure that this account is being used as the default Calendar account in Settings/Mail (in the Calendar section).
2- In your first post you said "I have the Gmail app set up as my new email account now"  The GMail app is only for mail, it does not provide Calendar support, so if all you did was add the app and sign into your GMail account, that's why your Calendar is not updating.  If this is what's going on, you need to add your (new) GMail address as an account in Settings/Mail.  If you're sure that you did this, there is no reason for your Calendar app to not see the caldendar associated with this account.
3- In your first post you said "I've linked the two email accounts, shared calendars with both accounts, but it's still not working"  I suppose you did this as part of your troubleshooting, but there should be no reason to link two GMail accounts to get your calendars to show up.
