Question on transfer.appsrv.workAreaRoot usage

Hi,
webutil.cfg in our QA server (Linux) has an invalid/incorrect directory assigned to transfer.appsrv.workAreaRoot. I have a a call in my forms to webutil_file_transfer.AS_to_Client_with_progress which is failing even though the source and target folders/files passed are valid and also matches what is defined in transfer.appsrv.read.2 and transfer.appsrv.write.2
As per the documentation, transfer.appsrv.workAreaRoot is used when files are UPLOADED FROM client machine. But in my case I am only downloading from AS and uploading to client. Can the reason for failure be the invali/incorrect folder defined in transfer.appsrv.workAreaRoot? Does this mean that transfer.appsrv.workAreaRoot is also used for uploading TO client machine as opposed to uploading FROM client machine (as per the documentation)?

If you are using the file upload or file download or read image file or write image file, a valid directory must be listed. This directory must have read/write access. If you are interested in how it works take a look at webutil.pll as this is where transfer.appsrv.workAreaRoot is read and used.

Question regarding roaming and data usage

I am currently out of my main country of service, and as such I have a question regarding roaming and data usage.
I am told that the airplane mode is sufficient from keeping the phone off from roaming, but does this apply to any background data usage for applications and such?
If the phone is in airplane mode, are all use of the phone including wifi and application use through the wifi outside of all extra charges from roaming?

Just to elaborate here, Ann154 is referring to access charges for wifi, which is nothing to do with Verizon, so if you are using it in a plane, hotel, an internet cafe etc that charges for Wifi rather than being free . Verizon does not charge you (or indeed know about!) wifi usage, or any other usage that is not on their cellular network (such as using a foreign SIM for example in global phones) So these charges, if any, will not show up on the verizon bill app. Having it in airplane mode prevents all cellular data traffic so you should be fine

Question regarding transfer and restore of iphone

Hi All, I just brought a iphone5 and i want to transfer my data from my current iphone4s to the iphone5, but i will still be using my iphone4s. As you guys know, every iphone will have a Name (General>About>Name). So my question is, after i do a restore from backup to my iphone5 and then change the Name, then plug in back to my PC and let the iphone5 sync with the New Name, will it overwrite my old backup or it will create another backup with the new Name?
I ask this is because i will be using both iphone, but want the data from iphone4s to be transfer to my iphone5, from here i want both iphone to have their own backup.

Yet another question about transfer from iPod to PC

I realize there have been a couple similar questions regarding this, recently, and I have read the answers and the guides within help. The trouble is this: My hard drive on my PC died!! I had to replace it. So, the new hard drive has no music library at all. I need the new library to match what's on the ipod, for further music downloads and automatically updating the ipod, etc.
I followed directions in "Copy Music to New Computer". At the point where it says to go to My Computer and double click on the iPod (while it's connected, of course) and you're supposed to see a few folders here. One of them should be a folder called iTunes. You're supposed to be able to drag it into your My Music iTunes folder. However, that folder does not appear!! Only Calendars, Contacts, and Notes folders are there. There definitley is music on the ipod. So, why is there no folder there? I can't figure any other way to get this stuff back in my library.
Please help.
I could re-import most of it ,I guess, and start over, but if I can't get the stuff that's only on my ipod, the library still won't match. And next time I download new music, and iPod updates itself from my library, I'll lose stuff.

Try this.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), there's Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.

Ct_bapi_customer_fields question (PO transfer to R/3, extended classic)

Hi all gurus,
I know I can work on the BBP_ECS_PO_OUT_BADI to enrich/modify the ct_bapi_customer_fields table.... But I'd like to ask you where is that populated in order to see the logic.
That's the situation: in BBP_ECS_PO_OUT I see that entries in ct_bapi_customer_fields are not properly filled, for instance, there's no entry related to POSERVICE even though I'm trying to transfer a PO with service items (of course, there are custom fields for services in our implementation).
My guess is there's something missing @ customizing level, but since I'm having difficulties in debug mode, I kindly ask you to suggest me documentation or hints on how to check the INITIAL fill of ct_bapi_customer_fields.

EDIT: additional informations; we're working on a brand new SRM 7 system, we have some R/3 system which are properly connected to an SRM 3 system. We have to manage custom fields in order to properly distribute POs from the new SRM to the backends.

Question On Transfer iTunes Library Via Home Sharing

Hi everyone, so basically the situation I'm in is I got a new PC laptop to replace my Macbook Pro and I want to be able to sync my iphone, ipod and ipad with the new library on the PC. I've already gone through transfering my entire library with all my music and apps etc using home sharing. My question is would I be able to connect my ios devices now and without a problem sync it with my PC? I'm afraid if I do connect it I will lose my contacts and pictures on my iphone.

If you need to move data fast, then use the Oracle Migration Workbench to Generate SQL Server BCP data extraction scripts and Oracle SQL Loader files.
This is the fastest way to migrate the data.
In the Oracle Model UI tab of the Oracle Migration Workbench, right mouse click on the tables folder. there is a menu option to 'Generate SQL Loader ...' scripts. This will help you migrate your data efficiently.

Challenging Question : ABAP TRANSFER statement Issue

Hi SAP Gurus,
I am using statment
TRANSFER g_str TO p_unixf   LENGTH 512.
to write the <i>g_str</i> to UNIX file <i>p_unixf</i>
I have some <b>BLANK</b> spaces at the end of each record which I want to retain in the UNIX FILE.
But TRANSFER statment writes only character ignoring the BLANK spaces at the end.
All the record length should be of 512 in UNIX FILE irrespective of what data contains in the record.

Try use a field type X at end of structure of internal table will be transfered to file.
For each line of internal table, place at type X field the value "0D" (CR).
DATA: BEGIN OF ti_file OCCURS 0,

Question about PGA and TEMP usage

hi,
we had a situation whereby OEM was reporting that because the PGA was too small during a time frame that extra I/O on the TEMP was being created. Does this then mean that the TEMP was acting as a pseudo PGA.

You need to define a Follow-up fucntion in customisation (under Insp lot completion). Thi sfollow-up fucntion will have the fucntion module which does the Transfer posting.
Then you need to assign the follow-up fucntion in the UD code of the selected set in QS51.
