Question on V200 XP Recovery CDs and Sharing the Cost

Just wondering if all V200's have the same XP recovery  media? And if yes, can anyone, kindly, let me have a copy of theirs? Even I am willing to share the cost.

Hi,
Run the BIOS hardware diagnostic and make sure that your PC is OK. Check with Seagate and make sure that the hard drive that you received is not an advanced format hard drive as these types of drives will not work with the older HP recovery programs.
If your PC is not running BIOS version 5.32 or higher and has 7GB or more then remove some memory dimms to reduce the total to under 7GB.  You can install the latest BIOS updates after your PC is recovered.

I tried updating to iOS6 via itunes bc my storage space was pass limit and now my phone is telling me it's in recovery mode and I need to restore it. I didn't back it up. How do I take it out of recovery mode and keep the information on my phone?

You cannot.  If it is in recovery mode, the data is already gone.
Did you fail to make sure everything was on your computer before updating?

  • HT5699 I forgot the answers for security questions, how can I reset them and get the access back to the iTunes store?

Need help to get access to iTunes store. I bought an iTunes card bor buying on iTunes store.
I forgot the answers for security questions, how can I reset them and get the access back to the iTunes store?

If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you should see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you won't get the reset option - you will need to contact iTunes Support or Apple to get them reset.
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then 'Forgotten Apple ID security questions'
or try ringing Apple in your country and ask to talk to the Accounts Security Team : http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down this page to add a rescue email address for potential future use : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312 . Or you could change to 2-step verification : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5570

  • Sales order prod costing error and extracting the cost $ value

We are doing sales order product costing via custom program which internally calls FM CKKA_Costing_Process, CK_F_SD_ORDER_CALC and all other std processes and calculates the cost. In the event of error, the calculated dollar value is getting cleared. Is there any way we can find and extract the cost $ value in case of costing error?

    Owen,
That's fine. Not worried about the error. But business needs the cost calculated with the error. Is there anyway we can get the cost $ while error. VA02 costing returns error too, but we have the cost updated.

  • Which photoshop is for beginners and not the costly full version?

which photoshop is for beginners and not the costly full version?

Depending on what you want to achieve, there is also Lightroom 4.
When comparing CS6, Lightroom, and Elements, Adobe says:
Q:  How do Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop Extended, Photoshop Elements, and Photoshop Lightroom software differ?
A:  Photoshop Elements 11 (US$99) is designed for people who are just getting started with digital photo editing, and delivers powerful yet easy-to-use options that help you organize, edit, create, share, and help protect your personal photos.
Photoshop CS6 (US$699) is the professional standard for creating and manipulating powerful images, and Photoshop CS6 Extended (US$999) delivers everything in Photoshop plus tools for creating and editing 3D images and objects.
Photoshop Lightroom 4 (US$149) addresses the workflow needs of professional and serious amateur photographers, enabling them to import, process, organize, and showcase large volumes of digital photographs quickly, or develop a single image.
And they also have a page that neatly summarizes the best uses for each product. This article gets even deeper into the comparison. I hope this is helpful!

  • Touchsmart IQ524 hard drive crashed. Ran Recovery CDs and I get an error Windows can not install on

I have an HP Touchsmart IQ524 which the hard drive crashed.  I replaced the hard drive with the exact same model.  I run the Recovery CDs (which I purchased from HP website) and it goes all the way through the process and after the reboot I get a message that "Windows can not install software on this hardware" - so it never completes the process.  I have formatted the hard drive and bought and returned 3 hard drives.  Any suggestions and assistance will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi:
I love recovery disks when they work, and HATE them when they don't.
Fortunately, I have a workaround for you which isn't as good as a recovery disk, but it is better than pulling your hair out, and getting nowhere.
First of all, before you try this, did you perform the recovery with only the keyboard and mouse connected?
Did you buy the same size or larger hard drive?
If your answer to either question is no, then that may be the problem.
    Now to the workaround...
If you're up to a slight but rewarding challenge you can make your own if you can read your 25 character Vista product key on the PC.
Just download the 3 files you need at the link below, and read all of the instructions to create a bootable DVD installation disk using imageburn.
Disregard the part of the text under the first screen shot about "extract the files to the Vista folder."
The files were already extracted to that folder when you ran the X14.exe file by reading the text on top of the first screen shot.
The other thing I noticed is on the 4th screen shot, where it shows Developer ID Microsoft Corporation. I had to type Microsoft Corporation in myself, and then the other codes automatically populated.
When I went to compile the ISO file, ImageBurn gave a message that about a WIM file and ISO, and if I wanted to burn it in a different format.
I selected No, make the ISO file.
It was not that hard to do. I burned both the 64 bit disk and the 32 bit disk in case I ever need them.
I tested both of them on my hp dc7100 CMT desktop PC, they worked perfectly.
When you enter the product key, it knows what version of Vista you have.

After you successfully install Vista, you can then install the drivers from your PC's support and driver page.

  • Seagate drive failed used HP recovery cds and windows wont finish the install...

Hello FOlks First time poster long time reader.. ...
I have an older HP A6567c machine.. that has been retrofitted with almost everything new minus the motherboard, processor and ram... ive swapped power supplies gpu and of course HD..so heres my issue..
I use a seagate 1tb hd.. it recently failed on me so i sent away for a replacement since it was under warranty.. they shipped me out a nice refurbed 1tb drive that is half  the width of my older one.. which i thought was odd.. but i installed it anyways.. i ran the HP 3 cd recovery al was fine until it went to completing your windows installation.. and then i got an error message saying it could not complete my windows installation.. please reinstall windows.. i was dumbfounded.. ive replaced maybe 4 or5 drives in my time and ive never seen this.. so i read somewhere to unplug printers and gpus and anything extra so i did that retried and same issue.. so i went diggin around and found an article stating that older HP recovery cds dont allow certains drivers to be installed during recovery session like what the new style HD's require ..and going off that premise i ended up finding a few more articles where folks had said the same thing..
So im at a loss for why the recovery cds wont work.. anyone know if their are newer style recovery cds that work with newer hard drives ? ive read some HP forums where others had the issue and have had mixed replies from HP support one tech saying they had to buy all new recovery cds while the other tech told a customer they had to upgrade their OS.. I suppose i wouldnt mind upgrading to Win7 from my vista 64 home prem. i hear win 7 is nicer.. but i only run 4 gig ram so would win7 run on my machine ?
Also if their are a new style hard drive .. whats the beef with them ? what makes them so different to the older ones.. sadly with this being a holiday weekend im SOL on getting ahold of Seagate.. so im stuck waiting til monday dec 1st to get ahold of them.. but i was hoping someone might come across this and give me some ideas..
    thanks ,
    Starbuxx

  • Recovery CDs and new HDD

Hello all in Lenovo community. All I would like to know is if I can use recovery media made with RnR 4.2 to create hidden RnR partition in my new purely clean HDD? I mean, will it create a recovery partition, write new MBR, so the new HDD would be just like the old one, with working Think Vantage button? Thank you for support.

Yes, The cd's will create the recovery partition and then you will reboot and install windows from the recovery partition.

  • Using AX and sharing the internet?

For a while I've had an Airport Express (AX) across the room from my mini, with my printer and stereo hooked up to it (called "My Network"). I recently got a Powerbook, and set up a network (called "My Mac Mini") with internet sharing on, and was able to use it to surf online, etc. Then I went to print something from my mini and realized that I had two different networks, which I didn't intentionally do, but both of them took a lot of work to get working right. With the "Mac mini" network, I couldn't print and had to switch to "My network" to get the AX connected and thus shut out my Powerbook.
Can I combine them? Is it possible to have my mini networked with my AX and at the same time sharing it's internet connection with other wireless devices? Or do I have to get a router, hook it up to my AX and expand my network? I can't really tell when I should be changing network preferences and when I should be changing sharing options, etc. (new to the Mac world).
    Thanks for all the help!

Pardon me for jumping in. I am sure that Tesserax will respond with more detail.
+could the AX be that router?+
The AX could be that router, but it will only provide an internet connection via wireless. You won't be able to connect an ethernet device to the Express as you could do if you had a wireless router that also provided 3-4 ethernet ports.
If the mini connects well using wireless, then your AX will do the job fine. As long as the AX and mini are in close proximity, you should have a good connection using wireless. But, it won't be as "fast" as an ethernet connection. It's also possible that you may notice no real difference.
I think the bottom line here is (as it is in most networks), you won't really know until you try.

  • Help Needed! Getting the files off the recovery disc and onto the computer. How?!?

Okay, I shut down my computer a few hours ago like normal and I restarted it again when I wanted to go on it which was later this evening. A screen popped up that said press enter to continue and a bunch of code, so I did just pressed 'Enter' like it asked. Then another screen came up that said,  "Your computer could not start up, we are finding and fixing the problems, ect ect." And then there was a percentage at the bottom of how much was completed.
So after it was finished, my computer started to totally restart, like I just bought the computer. It had me remake everything. And when it was all done EVERYTHING except for the programs that came with the computer where gone. I noticed a recovery disc and how it was almost full, and it said it has all my programs on it and to not delete it. Well okay if it has all my programs....
How in the world do I get everything from the recovery disc back onto my computer?
Please comment on any information that can help!

The recovery partition on the hard drive does not have your programs/files. It holds the files to reinstall Windows and all original software/drivers that came on the laptop. In other words, it does exactly what just occurred.

  • Trying to enter recovery hd and at the firmware password screen it freezes

When I try to boot into recovery HD, the computer loads it like normal and then the firmware password utility shows up and my computer just freezes. The mouse and keyboard have no effect, and I have tried several different mouses and keyboards to be sure. Does anyone have a similiar issue and can help me out here?

If you've set a firmware password and can't enter it for whatever reason, all you can do is take the machine to an Apple Store or other authorized service center to have the password removed. Be prepared to show proof of ownership.

  • Transfer only Hours to PM and not the cost

    Hi,
Is it possible to only transfer Hours from CATS to PM but not the cost?
Any suggestion on configiguration, user exit to achieve this.
    Thanks

Are you doing CATS for contractors and IW41 for employees and did not want to capture the cost for contractors in CATS ??
If this is the case, you can set up two different activity types one with zero value and other one with needed value corresponding to two different workcenters. In the operation, you can change the workcenter to allow the right acitvity type.
So if you use, IW41, then the activity type which has the value in KP26 will post the actual cost and if it is CATS, then it directs to ZERO value activity type which cost does not flow to order.
    Hope this helps.

This is a bad hardware error, Baseband Error. Some have reported getting through this error by Restoring iPhone with the SIM Card removed. Try that. Try restoring with different computer. Search Web some more for other thoughts.
