Question about watermarks

Hello,
We have adobe acrobat standard 8.0 in our office and trying to set up watermarks.
After adding the watermark, it shows fine on the screen but when I print the document, watermark covers all the texts and unable to read.
We recently had adobe reader upgraded to Adobe reader XI. When I save the pdf document in adobe acrobat with watermark and open in adobe reader and it prints fine.
There is another PC with same adobe product and can print with no issue from adobe acrobat standard 8.0.
I re-imaged the PC so it is a clean install but still doing the same.
I also set up the pdf to open with adobe reader not adobe acrobat.

Playing video content from external websites

Hi
I'm posting under QuickTime though I'm not 100% sure that this is the appropriate place. Please let me know if not.
I was trying to watch a short video clip from a news site but when I clicked on Play Video the QuickTime icon appeared with a question mark watermarked in it. I have QuickTime installed so I don't know what this is trying to tell me.
On a related issue, some external sites require RealPlayer to play videos. Although I also have RealPlayer installed and although sometimes these videos play, I do get a message from various sites saying something along the lines that the site has content with MIME and that I don't have the plug-in and therefore it can't play. On some of these sites it then says to download RealPlayer.
I'm not really up to speed on videos etc and so would welcome any advice. I always thought that my Mac would play most things.

These are the downloads and the settings you need in order to view/hear pretty much everything: The setup described below has proved repeatedly successful on both PPC and Intel macs, but nothing in life carries a guarantee!
Assuming you already run OS 10.4.9 or above and have Quicktime 7.2, and are using Safari 2 or 3, download and install (or re-install even if you already had them) the latest versions, suitable for your flavor of Mac, of:
RealPlayer from http://uk.real.com/player/
Flip4Mac WMV Player from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/wmcomponents.mspx (Windows Media Player for the Mac is no longer supported, even by Microsoft)
Perian from http://perian.org/
Adobe FlashPlayer from http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash
In Quicktime Preferences, under advanced, UNcheck Enable Flash, and under Mime settings/Miscellananeous only check Quicktime HTML (QHTM).
In Macintosh HD/Library/Quicktime/ delete any files relating to DivX (Perian already has them).
Now repair permissions and restart.
The world should now be your oyster!
You should also have the free VLC Player from http://www.videolan.org/ in your armory, as this plays almost anything that DVD Player might not.

Adobe premiere elements 10 trial watermark question

Hi there,
I just had a question regarding the water mark in premiere elements 10. I know the watermark stays until I buy the full version. But if I was to find a full version on another computer. Can I take the file to the other computer to remove the water from it?
I did some work on it and I don't want to go to waste. I have a friend that has elements 7 I believe. It would be great if I can just save the file and open it there for the watermark to disappear. I just wanted to ask if that would work.

Slideshow questions - scripting and watermarking

These are 2 separate questions, so if you'd prefer I can post them separately.
1. Is it possible to create a script whereby when a slideshow is playing, the viewer can select a button and have the DVD jump to a specific spot in another slideshow? I will be creating 2 versions of the same slideshow and would like the viewer to be able to reference one from the other.
2. Is it possible to watermark or show filenames on the photos which are being played in the slideshow? I know I can probably batch process them through Photoshop but I was hoping to skip that step. I was thinking that I might be able to overlay the text as a subtitle if it were properly aligned?

Thanks for the tip. I think I can figure that part out from following the instructions in the manual. I can also get around the 99 marker limit by creating separate tracks that end jump to each other.
Is there a way, though, to show the filenames on the photos? I know that I could create a subtitle track to overlay it, but I'd be using the subtitle track for the button to jump to the other track.
Should I batch process them in CS4 to overlay the filenames instead? Not that I know how to do that yet.

Watermark - Batch Question

Hi all,
I have hundreds of PDF's where I have to watermarks to them. So I enlisted the help of Batch Processing, but my question is, is there a way for me to just run the batch job of "adding watermark" and be set and forget about it? Because right now when I run the sequence I constantly have to press OK for all the documents, it works but semi works because I have to sit there and hit the OK button for all of the PDF's.
Is there a better way for this?

I just tried to check what you advised but don't see what you say is true, where is this? I have adobe 9 pro.

Static questions and a watermark

I have iMovie '09 but I can get '11 if needed.
Is it possible to add frames with text midst a movie? I am filming a person answering questions; the questions will appear on screen as text.
Also, am I able to add a watermark to the full movie?

If you want to have free standing text, you will need to create a JPG background image to act as the background for the Text to sit on. If you want black text create a white rectangle, or if you want white text, create a black background. You would have to do this in an external image editing program like Photoshop or something similar. Then import that into iPhoto or drag it directly into the Project Browser in iMovie.
Watermarks are possible too. I would recommend on doing it after the fact,... after you are complete done with editing the movie and everything is ready to be exported. Once your video is to that point, export the video to your desktop. Then re-import that into iMovie and create a new Project. Drag your video into the new project and then do a Picture-in-picture or Cutaway effect using a transparent PNG picture to act as the watermark.
If you need step-by-step directions for the watermark there are a number of them freely available on YouTube or even in text form on some websites. They all pretty much describe the same process, but don't mentioned waiting until the very end to add the watermark. Trying to do it in the midst of your iMovie editing before everything is finished will upset your transitions and fades in the main timeline of your movie. Exporting then adding the watermark gets around ALL those problems.

Question about creating a watermark in Photoshop Windows, but for use in iMovie 11 16:9 aspect ratio

I am looking to get this logo (the whole thing, not cut off on the top and bottom as is all I can currently manage to get working) to use as a semi-transparent watermark for a video I made to highlight the company the logo represents. Anyone have any ideas or might be able to edit it and send it back? No matter what I do the top and bottom are always cut off in iMovie 11. From all the research I did last night I found that iMovie 11 requires the watermarks themselves to be in either 4:3 or 16:9 aspect. I tried using GIMP on my wifes macbook to crop to these aspects but some part of the logo is always cut off, ie: the top and bottom or the left and right sides.

have a filter that blocks direct image links. However I forwarded this to

I tried stretching the canvas last night but no matter the size of the
canvas, GIMP still would only allow me to crop based off the size of the
logo itself. I could crop part of the canvas, as well as the logo, but I
could not crop a perfect square. When I did crop the square...(after two
hours of trying) iMovie 11 still viewed the logo as too large and cut off
the top and bottom of the circle.
Hopefully when I get home what you sent will work.

Watermark or Page Mark Question

I am not sure if you would consider it a watermark, and feel free to ask for additional information.
This is what I want to happen.... (currently using Adobe Acrobat Pro 7.1.0)
If when printing out a .PDF form, is it possible to have it print out where it was printed from.
For example, if I printed out some Work Instructions from a computer named Engineering-Comp, it would show Engineering-Comp at the bottom of the .PDF or at the bottom of the PDF?
FYI, I don't mean to hardcode the name of the workstation into the .PDF, because if I printed the same Work Instructions from Sales-Comp, I would want to to automatically say printed from Sales-Comp at the bottom of the PC.

Is it the name of a folder? The name of the computer on a network? The local
name?
If you want, it's possible to define this name manually in a script that you
set up as a folder-level script in Acrobat.
Then the other script (the one that inserts the watermark), can use this
information.

Elements 11 watermark question

Is it possible the new file i made for my watermarked photos don't show on the photo but is actually there if i went to print it? I followed all the instructions and have everything set as per HELP, but they don't show the watermark in the new file. Any ideas? Thanks

I don't think it is possible otherwise somebody would have posted a work-around. Generally, when printing photos, you get whatever is visible on the screen. So if your watermark is not visible then it won't be printed either.
Alternative is to have two versions of photos - one with watermark and other without. Not an ideal solution IMO. Do you want printed photos for some thing for distribution to the general public or shopping catalog? Why watermark them? For web I can understand that some people would like the photos watermarked.

Several questions about Icloud, Icloud Photos, IOS8, Photostream and Photos OSX (If it ever happens)

I wasn't sure whether to put these questions in Aperture or Icloud but since the main questions seem to do mostly with how Icloud is currently working with Aperture (until Photos OSX is released - if that ever happens) I opted for Icloud. It's a bit convoluted, so any input is appreciated! I've tried to be concise:

Iphone 6+ with IOS8 x 2
Ipad Air 2 with IOS8 x 2
Macbook Pro running Yosemite
Imac running Yosemite
Three icloud accounts plus family share is set up.

Situation overview:
We are new to icloud and IOS (but not mac and Aperture). We previously had Android phones and tablets. Both my partner and I take a ton of photos on each of our respective devices (we run a food blog). Icloud and switching to IOS devices (iphone and ipad) was meant to simplify our lives but we are running into some snags using Aperture until Photos OSX is released--And I dread the thought if OSX Photos doesn't make this simpler in the long run! Right now we are just trying to get our very large (separate) aperture libraries organized and ready for when the update happens. In doing so we have run across some questions:
Right now, in addition to photo stream, Aperture creates a monthly file that is a permanent upload of photos from Icloud. Is Aperture supposed to upload the videos from Icloud as well? I just realized NONE of my videos have uploaded from Icloud. If they are supposed to be importing automatically, what troubleshooting do I need to perform to make this work properly?
If the videos are not uploading, should we just do a manual import of the videos into Aperture? And, I assume that will NOT also bring in duplicate photos as we have that box checked in IMPORT.
Must I leave photos/videos I DO NOT want in the Aperture TRASH in order for the imports to NOT import previously imported/duplicate files? It seems if you empty the trash, how will Aperture know that those were previously imported? This makes the trash huge, however!
Is there a way/is it possible to AUTOMATICALLY have icloud/photo stream import from two (or more) phones/ipads (with two different icloud accounts) into ONE aperture library on ONE machine? In other words, if I want my phone and my partner's phone to upload photos into my food blog Aperture library without having to do a manual upload all the time, how do I make this happen? The need for constant manual uploads will start to become quite a pain!
How do I share A single project with another Aperture Library?
Is there a better way to share an Aperture Library between computers/devices than through an external drive--Given that the Ipad, which I blog with on the road, will not connect to an external drive, we are finding this practice very limiting!
IOS8/Icloud Photos Questions:
I assume that when Photos OSX is released there may be a way to accomplish this (I hope so anyway) but follow me here - My icloud storage can be up to 1 TB but my devices only have 128GB each. Even with "reduce photo size" on my devices turned on, I am going to fill up my phone/ipad in no time! (I only got my iphone in Nov and only have 60G left - Did I mention I take a ton of pictures!?!) There has GOT to be a way to have ALL photos stored on Icloud but only some on your phone!?! HELP!
Within a SHARED FAMILY album, is there a way to create new SUB albums? It seems crazy that I can't organize the photos within that album to create categories like: home, vacation, etc. and shouldn't have to create a new SHARED (non-family) album for each one.
Does anyone know when PhotosOSX will be released and is there any new information as to it's features?
Note to Developers just in case you're reading this: I hope OSX Photos solves every question I have above (and that it still allows for watermarking of photos on export)!

The new Photos app in OS X should address much of this - it greatly simplifies syncing stuff across machines. Apple has details on it up here:

Date variable in watermark

I'm generating .pdf as an output option from a DITA environment, and want to set up a .pdf watermark (Acrobat Pro X) to add the current date each time I update the content. I don't mind doing this as a separate step, until I've had time to grapple with the documentation and find out whether the DITA tool can do it for me. Question, then: is there any way of using a variable in a watermark definition, or do I need to use a stamp instead?

Text- only watermark added with Tools > Pages > Edit page design > Watermark
In the Text box, today, I type 19 March 2014 14:00. If I want to use the same watermark tomorrow, I have to edit the date and time information by hand.
What I'm hoping for/curious about is a variable such as many programs use to pull in the system date. Even better, a variable to insert the Modified time-stamp from the document properties …

Hi, I bought before +- 14 days notebook IdeaPad U430p Grey
with configurations i5-4200u 8gb ddr3 geforce 730m
in notebook is preinstalled original windows 8 64bit
because i have msdn account i have original iso windows 8.1 64bit
so i after fresh install windows 8 from onerecovery i upgrade with this iso on win 8.1
for installing i used key what provide microsoft and for activation after installing win8.1 i used key from lenovo original windows 8.
activation is okay and windows 8.1 shows that is all okay.
I HAVE ONLY ONE MAIN PROBLEM!
in widnows 8.1 in lower right corner windows shows watermark with text "Not configured SecureBoot"
but i install windows 8 and after upgrade on 8.1 with UEFI in bios and in bios I have "Enabled" SecureBoot.
When I call into microsoft, microsoft support tell me "go to bios and enabled secureboot" but I have enabled this features.
Please help me with this, because this watermark is really annoying, Thanks.

Answer: I can't answer your question. In the first place I really would not be installing a beta, RTM, or whatever except the final version on my system. Since you have install it then you must have made the assertion to yourself that you qualify as an IT professional as stated in the warning sign in microsoft's website. And that you are capable of solving whatever problem that you may encounter due to the installation.
What users upgrade via store from 8 on 8.1, what after?
It will have all the users who will upgrade watermark? It's crazy
Answer: You don't understand what that version is for. It is not for everybody yet. So not all user are installing it. I have installed it once in a virtual box but remove it later.

because for this must user before installing Win OS set in bios legacy mode too, but in upgrading via store this isn't fresh install OS but only upgrading, so this can not be done)
Answer: You ask for help so I presented you my help. It is not for you to make a criticism out of it but to solve what you have describe. Why would you use legacy mode? Can you explain why? Is it necessary to install Win 8.1 preview through the store? I install mine not through the store. I do not have the time to make any explanation for every suggestion made. If you want a full understanding go to some institution or forum that provide such a service.

What happens to CC or Watermarks when imported into PrPro

my question (s) are about information that is stored in the out of tv safety feilds when imported into Adobe premeir pro. files will be mpeg-2 video files SD and Hd
1) what happens to closed Captioning data (does it get moved or is it stripped)?
2) what happens to Nielsen watermarks on line 22 and 20?

Nothing happens to the music on your computer. Nothing will "combine" unless this other person actually downloads something to your computer. Simply logging into an iTunes account does not instigate any automatic downloads of anything.
