Question on Worklist Translation

Hello,
I created a Translation Worklist, added some Portal Content Objects, translated them, and so on. Everything worked fine, the Objects were translated.
After that I wanted to reset the changes. Therefore I deleted the Translation Worklist.
But the PCOs are still translated... Is this a bug ore the desired behavior?
Kind regards,
dominik

Hello Adrian,
thanks for your reply. It's not so important for me to have a backup because it affected only a few PCO and was just for testing. But in future I won't delete the worklist any more.
I just have one short question... You wrote:
<i>or remove the translations.... replace with blanks etc.</i>
Did you mean remove the translation by replacing them with blanks or is there an other way to remove it?
kind regards,
dominik

  • Objects not visible in Portal Worklist Translation

    Hi All,
I am encountering a strange issue in Portal Content translation for ESS. I need to edit the Overview workset to French properly. I have created the worklist and have added the workset to it. After adding, I followed the procedure below:
    - Generate Translatiion Data
    - Release for Translation
Then, when I go to Worklist translation and select my worklist, in statistic details table itself, I see Total column as 2 (i.e. without any workset object)
After selecting src detsn lang, on Load for Translation, I just see the worklist name (1 for name, 1 for description) in the src destn table. There is no workset object in the source destination table to be selected for translating the text.
However, when I try to create dummy new workset and add it to new worklist. Then things work perfectly fine as it should be. I have even tried adding Benefits & Payment workset but no luck (i.e. same after addition not shown on "load for translation"). I am successfully able to add and see Career and Devpt workset (also any of the iViews) on "load for translation" for changing the text.
Is there any property for to be set for workset (copy of standard ESS workset) ?
Problem is objects are getting added in Translation worklist coordination but are not shown to edit src destn text on "load for translation".
    Help is appreciated.

    Hi Udit Govil or anyone,
I have the same problem.  Does anyone have any solution on this ?

  • Question about Google Translator with flags for BC website

    Hello
I am looking for a solution for my website , I am using Business Catalyst as platform to create the website.  I am looking for simple one code/plugin/HTML solution which I can copy paste in the website for the translation. I want to put google translator with flags on my website in the top right hand side. I want to translate my website in 9 languages and want to put 9 country flags on the top right hand side,  which translate languages on click event on "same page" , I want the translation must take place at the same page after clicking on the flag. How-ever I successfully integrated google translate with dropdown option but want to integrate google flag translations on my website.
Please let me know what can be done here.
    Regards'

Don't use google translate, it's the worst user experience you can ever give a user and makes the site look like it was designed by a 12 year old with a grammer problem. Machine translation is no were near anything good for a production website currently and even more so for non latin languages like Japanese, Chinese, Korean etc.
Case and point, throw a few lines of text into google translate, then reverse the translation back to english, you'll see my point.

  • Question regarding Currency translation

    Hi Experts,
I have set fixed USD translation in keyfigure properties, but the user wants to check data in local currency by using right context menu on the report with data base currency. But it is not converting to local currency. Please suggest if we set in keyfigure properties will data base currency will not work at query run time. Thank you
    Regards,
    Manju

    Hi Manju
Are you using BW 3.5 or BI 7.0?
Currency translation will work in workbook level also but first you have to disable the currency conversion already applied on the query level. In BI 7.0 you can do that when you right click on the query ->Query properties ->Currency conversion -> Uncheck the check box and choose the currency and translation type.

  • Question about worklist  applications

    Hi
i tried to do the example listed in the Oracle BPEL developers guide ( "Building a Worklist Application Using the Worklist Service APIs" ) and when it comes to these
step : "Task task = (Task) tasks.get(i);" I get confused because I don't know if this Task is really a oracle.tip.pc.services.hw.task.tasktype.impl.Task.
Also, I printed the class name
    Object obj= tasks.get(i);
    System.out.println("Class name " + obj.getClass().getName());
and I got that the value returned was a oracle.tip.pc.services.hw.worklist.WorklistTask
    am I wrong?
    Thanks Nicolas Fonnegra M

    Hi Nicolas
It's important to note that there is a difference between the local Worklist Service APIs and the Remote Worklist Service APIs.
The local API is based around oracle.tip.pc.api.worklist.IWorklistService and its implementation oracle.tip.pc.services.hw.worklist.WorklistService.
The remote API is based around oracle.tip.pc.services.hw.worklist.RemoteWorklistServiceClient.
The remote API provides only a sub-set of the functionality offered by the local API. It is recommended that you use the local API, unless you have to host your worklist application remotely from the workflow service.
The local worklist APIs use the class oracle.tip.pc.services.hw.worklist.WorklistTask to represent tasks, which provides more methods than the class oracle.tip.pc.services.hw.task.tasktype.impl.Task used by the remote APIs.
I suspect that you are using the local worklist API, in which case you should be casting to WorklistTask, not Task.
    Hope this helps
    Regards
    Will Stallard

  • Question about Worklist application and attachments

    Hello,
I am using Oracle Bpel 10.1.2.1. I created a simple flow with a user task (Simple workflow). Then , in the worklist application, I attach one file, but when I see the BPELConsole, the oraBPMTaskMessage does not have the reference to the attachment and I am not able to acces the uploaded file. Is there something I am missing?. I already tried the Document Review Sample , and it works fine because I get the file URL in the payload, but when I use the attach option in the worklist application I can't obtain it.
    thanks Nicolas Fonnegra

Task attachments are not sent back and forth in the task XML due to the potential issues with the size of attachments. Hence, you don't see the attachments in the task object in the BPEL process. BPEL XPath extension functions ora:getTaskAttachment(....) (there are a few variations of this) and ora:getTaskAttachmentCount(...) will get the attachments as base64 encoded string. Please look at the extension functions and the user documentation for more details.

  • Portal Content Translation -  missing items in worklist

Hello all, first post but I am sure not the last. Here is my problem:
I am trying to translate Portal Content in MSS from english to french using Portal Content Translation, but certain items that I need to translate don't appear in the worklist.
What is puzzling about this is that some of these items have a "Name" field attached to them when I go directly in the PCD...Why don't they appear in the worklist?
For example, one of the items I need to change is the folder name "Performance Management", which, in french, has an unacceptable title to the client (this name appears in portal navigation so it's a biggie).  When I log in french and check the "Name" field directly, it of course has the english name in there and changing it will affect the english side.
The master language is set to english and the MSS role i am using is a copy of the standard delivered. I have tried using the standard role in the worklist, but I still get the same number of items.
How am i supposed to make the change?

    Hi,
Please try in Portal Translation Worklist -> Translation Worklist Coordination
in the property editor of the worklist change Resolve References to yes.

  • Portal Translation Worklist working properly?

    Dear all,
I have created in SAP Portal a role named "Role Example". This role is assigned to my SAP Portal user which has user administrator role as well. In order to translate this role to Spanish with name "Ejemplo de Rol" I have performed the following steps:
    1) I have created a Translation Worklist
    2) Include this role to this worklist
    3) Translate the name of the role from English to Spanish
    4) Mark the worklist as translated
    5) Publish the translation
Then I change the language of my SAP Portal user from English to Spanish and log off.
After loging on, for example I can see the "Content Administration", "User Administration" menu options translated in Spanish (due to my portal user language is Spanish currently), but the menu option corresponding to the "Role Example" role is named in English. It´s not translated in Spanish.
But if I navigate trhough the PCD, I can see that the role is named "Ejemplo de Rol".
Could you indicate me why my role is named "Ejemplo de Rol" in the PCD but in the portal menu options it appears in English language as "Role Example". How could I get the menu option "Role Example" appeared in Spanish as the "Content Administration", "User Administration" menu options?
Do I have to configurate something else?
Thanks for your time and attention.
    Regards,
    Peter

  • Unable to publish translated text using translation worklist coordination

    Hi Experts,
I am using portal content translation.  I have successfully completed translation. In Worklist translation, I can see the status as 'Translated'.
Even in Translation Worklist Coordination, I can see following message:
"Status of translation worklist is "Translated". It is not possible to add new objects to the translation worklist."
However, when I am hitting 'Publish Translation' button in 'Translation Worklist Coordination', following message is getting displayed:
"The action failed. Check the log output for additional information."
Can you please let me know what is going wrong here. I don't have rights to see the log.

  • Publishing of the translation for an Iview fails without any notice

We face the followoing problem with an custom IView in SAP portal:
The publishing of the translation for an Iview fails without any notice it only works directly after the IView was deployed.
The translation is done by first generating the translation data then translating to the several languages, marking the data as translated. After that the translation is published via the Translation Worklist Coordination.
All is done in the Portal under Contenet-Administration->Portal Content Translation, Translation Worklist Coordination and Worklist Translation
The publishing works directly after deployment of an iView but if one tries to retranslate the translation is saved in the repository but not published. If we delete the translation Worklist and start over again the translations that are not published are still in the generated data but still we can’t publish them.
There is no Information that the publication failed or anything. In the Worklist it just goes back to normal state where we can again generate the translation data.
The Iview is a Java IView for the translation a properties file was created and all the words from properties file show up in the generated data from the Worklist.
We could deploy the Iview every time the translation needs to be changed but the customer wants to do the translation without that step.
    We use the following Versions:

    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/74/641640b7b6dd5fe10000000a155106/frameset.htm
I have used Content Admin -> Portal Content Translation -> Translation Worlist Coordination to:
    1) Generate worklist and add content
    2) Generte translation data
    3) Release for translation
After this, I am using Content Admin -> Portal Content Translation -> Worklist Translation for following:
    1) Load worklist for translation
    2) Translate worklist
I am facing difficulty in Translate Worklist. The step by step method followed by me are as below:
I am clicking on Content Admin -> Portal Content Translation -> Worklist Translation.
I am searching Translation Worklist and selecting my Worklist
After this I am selecting following
    Source Language - English
    Target Language - Spanish
Then I am clicking on 'Load for Translation' button. New screen appears. In this screen, Translatable Text table is shown:
    It shows following
    Number
    Source Text <EN>
    Target Text <ES>
    Status
    Object ID
In Status I can see 'Not Translated'. I click on Next for three times as there are three line Number (0, 1 & 2)
The Status does not change. It remains 'Not Translated'.
When I am using following combination
    Source Language - Raw Texts
    Target Language - Raw Texts.
I click on Next for three times as there are three line Number (0, 1 & 2). The status changes to Translated.
I do not know what is going wrong with my process while selecting Source Language - English & Target Language - Spanish .
I have another question. I have to translate content of entire URL iView. How I can change the whole content of URL iView.
In the source text I can NOT see the contents of URL iView.
    Thanks
    Stuart

    Hi Prakash,
Did you check whether the translation has been done completely in PCD inspector? Some times you would have translated using Portal translation but it will not be written in the locale of the iView property.  Then we have to set it manually in the PCD inspector.
    Follow the procedure.
    1. navigate to System Administration -> Support -> Portal Content Directory -> PCD Inspector
This will open the PCD inspector.
    2. "Browse Into" the iview where you have developed it.
    3. Click on the "All Props" for the iView which you need to translate.
This will open the Properties in new window
    4. Check the property "com.sap.portal.pcm.title" what is maintained in Chinese? if it still displaying in English text against Chinese, Then you need to  Edit the property for chinese and have to give the actual chinese word.
Note  : I hope you would have selected "Raw Text"  for Source language and "Chinese" as Target language. Pls confirm on this.
    Thanks,
    Mahendran B.
