Question: Opening images in PS6

I cannot see my image after opening in PS6. The tab shows the file name and I can see the image in the tile when I go to "File-Open". Any ideas? Thanks for any input.

Open image capture question

I am having trouble using the detect separate items feature in the Apple open image capture feature. Instead of separating the scans, it just does one big scan. Is anybody else having this problem? If it works for you, what type of scanner do you use?

Have you tried VueScan? It works well with several scanners. I would give it a shot. I have an old UMAX scanner that has no driver available for Mac OS X and VueScan made it work.

PsE 8 Mac, ACR 5.7, no "Open Image" button in ACR?

A forum search was unproductive, so I apologize if this question has an obvious answer.
I've been a user of the full version of Photoshop for many years. Now I find myself temporarily using PsElements 8 and ACR 5.7 on someone else's iMac.
After editing an image in ACR from Bridge CS4 (the one that comes with PsElements), I don't see an "Open Image" button in ACR. How do I open the image in PsElements 8?
Puzzled. Is this a sign that ACR is not installed properly?

I am fully familiar with the full version of ACR that comes with the real Photoshop. That's what I use at home on my desktop machine.
It's the PsElements version that I know nothing about.
The last paragraph of your post may hold a clue, but there's more to the issue I'm seeing here. As you well know, the Mac version does not come with the Organizer, but with Bridge CS4. I followed the PsElements-specific instructions for the ACR 5.7 download, as follows:
To install with Adobe Photoshop Elements 8:
NOTE: You must follow all of the new instructions in order to
successfully install the Camera Raw Plug-in for Photoshop Elements
1. Exit Photoshop Elements and Adobe Bridge
2. Open the download file and double-click CameraProfiles.dmg and follow the on-screen instructions.
3. Navigate to the root of the local disk (not the user's home folder).
4. Navigate to: (Please read directory carefully)
Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements 8/Plug-Ins/FileFormats/
5. Copy the existing plug-in to another location (for example, a new
folder on your desktop). Ensure you keep this version in case you need
to revert back.
6. Copy the Camera Raw plug-in, Camera Raw, from the download into the same folder as in Step 4, and overwrite the exiting file.
7. Launch Photoshop Elements or Adobe Bridge.
That works fine for PsE 8 but does not let Bridge see, preview or open RAW files. I had to go ouside the instructions and put another, additional copy of the ACR plug-in either in ./ Library/ Application Support/ Adobe/ Plug-ins/ CS4/ File Formats/ Camera Raw.plugin or, alternatively, in ./ Applications/ Adobe Bridge CS4/ Plug-Ins/ , otherwise Bridge shows me only generic icons for the raw files.
The
Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements 8/Plug-Ins/FileFormats/
location does work as advertised for PsE, regardless.
My guess is I should uninstall PsE and Bridge, re-install both and then update to ACR 5.7.
If that still doesn't work, I'll see if there is a PsE version 9 for the Mac. The computer owner barely uses PsE as it is and does not want to mess with the full version of the real Photoshop.
Personally, I'll be happy to go back home on Monday and forget this ordeal with PsE. :-/
With the above instructions—taken from the Download page—there is no way to see thumbnails and/or previews of raw file in the Bridge provided with PsE. Adobe has definitely gone down the tubes—and I know you're not Adobe.

Fail to open image to photoshop in camera raw

after i make all the adjustment in camera raw, when I chick "open image" it fails to open in photoshop.any solution?

Using Photoshop script – open image in it's own profile?

I Have a question about scripting;
How do I open an image in Photoshop script in it's own color profile, when the working colorspace is different?
It seems like it automatically opens in the current working colorpace.
(I want to open images and make the conversion myself efterwards).

I have never noticed that opening files via Script would convert them to the Working Space, but my Color Settings are to »Preserve Embedded Profile« for all modes.

Is there a key combination in Camera Raw v4.1 to open the image in Photoshop CS3 instead of having to use the mouse to click on the Open Image button?

You are under yet another misconception if you think I have been commenting on your workflow. I have not, and will not.
From the beginning, I have been focusing on a single issue: what single-key stroke may affect the Open button in the ACR dialog box. The answer was (and remains) that there is no single-key stroke that will open the image in Photoshop if you're having Bridge host ACR. Command+O will open the image on the Mac, or Ctrl+O on Windows.
Jeff then pointed out to you that the Enter key activates the Done button
as long as Bridge is hosting ACR, and that the same Enter key activates the Open button
if Photoshop is hosting ACR.
The question of deciding whether Bridge or Photoshop is going to be hosting ACR is a separate question from using Bridge to open your images.
Of course you can open your image through Bridge and
still have Photoshop host ACR.
Thus, your workflow has nothing to do with what I've been trying to convey to you.
And I have no comment, criticism or suggestion in connection with your workflow.
As Jeff has repeatedly explained to you, it makes more sense to have Bridge host ACR when you're only making global adjustments to your images, and to have Photoshop host ACR when you need to make localized adjustments, (e.g. selections) to your images or to print them.

LR4 won't open images in CS6

I cannot get LR4 to open images in CS6 using "Edit in". LR opens CS6 with no problem but no image appears. I have tried everything I know - uninstalled both, reinstalled both, cleared out registry, checked I have latest upgrades and both using same ACR (7.2) etc but it still won't work. Using Windows 7 by the way.

N73-Get halted while opening Images & video

Guys,
My N73 sometimes get halted while opening images & video in gallery specially when I shot some new snaps n go to gallery to view these. when i restart it, all the images in gallery have been deleted (From Memory card n some times even from phone memory)

This sounds like the memory card is protected and it is not actually saving the images to the card. If there is no card present, it sounds like a software issue.

IMovie Question Adding Images

Hi everyone. I haven't really used iMovie to the extent that I need to now. I'm doing a rendering of a school for a client. I'll be exporting 2000 images that I need played at 24-30FPS. Would iMovie handle adding that many images and would it run at 30 fps?

The 2000 images will turn into an animation like a flip book almost. So I need the movie to run at 30 fps per second each frame being one of the 2000.
For automatic creation of an image sequence the first step is order the images in a folder in the sequence you want them played. If all were taken in the order you want them display on a single digital camera, then they should already be in the correct filename order. If not, then you should name them manually using a strategy such as "Image0001, Image0002, Image0003 ... Image1998, Image1999, Image2000" to save time later. It also helps if all the photos are in the same orientation and dimensions, otherwise you will have to perform additional editing (frame splits, possibly reimportation of single frames for max quality, rotation, cropping/filling, etc.)
If you have QT Pro, simply use the "Open Image Sequence" File menu option to navigate to the folder containing your 2000 images and select the first image. QT Pro will then ask you to set the the desired frame rate. QT Pro will then proceed to create a Photo-JPEG video track which can then be imported into iMovie for addition of sound, voice overlays, etc. If you don't have QT Pro then there may still be other applications or scripts around which may or may not still work and serve the same auto-sequencing function.
The other option is to import the indiviual images directly into the iMovie project which will automatically create an "still frame" sequence at the correct frame rate for the current project type (i.e., NTSC 30 fps or PAL 25 fps). This approach allows you to create a slideshows manually adding music, voiceovers, effects, titles, transitions, etc. but means adding and adjusting each image sequence for the most part manually for optimum results. Also be advised that these two approaches produse drastically different effects -- the first like a "fast motion" playback of your images and the second a "slow-motion" effect is using the Ken Burns Effects.

Open Image in separate Screen (InApp)

Hi,
How can I link an image in a Folio, so that it opens in a different screen, where it can be zoomed and panned?
Zoom & pan restricts the picture to the container frame, but I want the effect similiar to a website-hyperlink, which can be opnened within the app and when the user closes the image, he/she returns to the folio.

Neil thank you very much for your answer. I guess there simply is no possibility to open the image in a full screen mode automatically. Only the workaround with a second status of the image and a selfmade button to return to the former status.
I'll post the images of the InDesign Document to make my problem clearer concerning the restricted area.

User klicks the image, which opens within the thumbnail container. Pan& zoom Effect or webcontent restricted to thumbnail container.
Workaround Solution for fullscreen mode via multi-state-Objects with selfmade buttons.
I wish there was an automatic method to open images full screen. I thought this would probably work by hyperlibke the thumbnail image with the original imagefile, but that won't work.
I guess the hyperlink functionality only works for real web-hyperlinks or PDF-Files, but not for jpg- or pnd-files.

Photoshop-When opening image without tab view, image opens with only a portion in view

I having an issue with CC.
When electing in the preferences to not open image in Tabs. The images open with only about 25% of the image area showing. Forcing me to (command) 0 for full to screen preview or (command) +/- to see the image.
I am not talking about seeing the image at 100% resolution just the entire image within the floating window without having to command before view.
Sidenote: Adobe Customer Service is all based in India. I spent 4 hours on the phone only to hear that this is that way photoshop works.
There would be no logical explanation for this. Since the first version of Photoshop this has not been the case.
I think this should be called view porn with wife in the room mode. Other than that I see no point.

When opening an image Photoshop Elements 12 is opening it in Camera Raw, it is not a RAW image and it is cropped How do I uncrop the opened image?

When I am opening a .jpg image not an actual raw camera image from Elements 12 it is being opened as a camera Raw image and the image is cropped, I can't find anyway to get the image to uncrop or zoom out so that the entire image is visible so that I can actually edit it to something that is useable. The images were taken with an iPad and copied I suspect using the organizer from Elements 11 but I can't be sure. If I could just uncrop the opened image so that the entire image is visible this would not be a big deal.
Is there a way to uncrop the image that is being opened by Camera Raw? Am I going to have to get my hands on the source of the images (the iPad) and copy the images again using explorer and not let them be copied with the organizer?

Uncheck the boxes at the bottom of the dialog Scale styles and resample Image so that only constrain proportions is checked. If you the change the resolution box from 240 to 300 you will get back to your original dimensions.
This is a meaningless thing to do, you still have the exact same number of pixels, you have only changed the metadata number in the file for ppi, and your prints are not affected by this number.
You could also use the same method to change the dimensions to 6 x 4 or 9 x 6 etc.
There are some cases (actually most cases) where you need to CROP the photo to change the dimensions, when the aspect ratio of the original photos is different than the aspect ratio of the final photo; the specific case in 99jon's example is the only case you ever want to change dimensions using Image->Resize->Image Size, where the aspect ratio doesn't change from 6x4 to 9x6 (or 12x8 or 18x12 or ...), and even then, you could do the same thing simply by telling the printer the size you want, you don't really need to do anything in PSE.
