Question r12 upgrade steps from 12.1.1 to 12.1.3 and customization of forms

I have upgraded from 10.5.10.2 to 12.1.1 and able to start application, log in to r12 and run concurrent programs etc.
I am confused about the next steps moving to 12.1.3.
Can you please confirm the following steps are right ?
1)-apply patch Patch 9239089. (R12.AD.B.DELTA.3 (R12.AD.B.DELTA.3)
2)- 11gCS and FNDCPASS User Exit Merge Consolidation Patch, Patch 12964564
3) - Apply patch 9239090 .
Post-Install Steps
a) Patch 9817770:R12.ATG_PF.B (POST-R12.ATG_PF.B.DELTA.3 CONSOLIDATED PATCH).
b) Patch 9966055:R12.FND.B

  • Questions in upgrade RAC from 11.2.0.1 to 11.2.0.2

I am new in installing RAC and need help in upgrade RAC from 11.2.0.1 to 11.2.0.2.
We have a 3 node RAC of 11.2.0.1 on refhat 5.2, and are planing to upgrade to 11.2.0.2. We are doing out-of-place upgrade. For our single instance DEV environment, it works pretty well that we install 11.2.0.2 and copy data from the old database, and then shutdown the old one.
On the production RAC, I hope to install 11.2.0.2 on one node, and let it join the RAC with the other two nodes. Then do th same to the 2nd and 3rd node. I have the following questions.
    1) For Out-of Place upgrade, should I just follow normal installation to install grid infrastructure and then the RAC?
    2) In selecting Installation type should I choose Create and COnfigure database, or Upgrade an Existing Database?
    3) What should I do with the ASM? I want to use the existing ASM.
    4) Can I out-of place upgrade one node, and make it join the RAC, and then roll to another node, or I have to install 11.2.0.2 on all 3 nodes and configure a new RAC to replace the old RAC.
    5) What should I do with ocr and voting disks?
    Thanks

    Hi friends,
Im following the below link for upgrading my obiee 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.1.5
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/bi.1111/e16452/bi_plan.htm#BABECJJH
In that they asked to follow the following 11 steps to accomplish, and those are
    "Perform General Pre-Patching Tasks"
    "Download the Installer"
"Applying the Latest Oracle Fusion Middleware Patch Set"
    "Start the Installer"
"Verifying the Schema Version Number After Update"

    "Updating Fusion Middleware Shared Libraries"
    "Updating Configurations and Stores"
"Starting and Stopping Oracle Business Intelligence"
    "Updating Oracle Real-Time Decisions"
"Signing In to Oracle BI Enterprise Edition"In that while performing the first task *"Perform General Pre-Patching Tasks"*
They asked to follow the following pre-requisition
Section 3.5.1, "Reviewing System Requirement, Certification and Interoperability Information"
Section 3.5.2, "Stopping the Servers and Processes"
Section 3.5.3, "Backing Up Your Middleware Home, Domain Home and Oracle Instances"

Section 3.5.5, "Backing Up Additional Configuration Information"
Section 3.5.6, "Patching Oracle WebLogic Server"
Section 3.5.7, "Renaming the emCCR File for Silent Patching"In the above sections, i have a doubt in the Section 3.5.5, "Backing Up Additional Configuration Information"
They mentioned to *"Back Up Configurations and Stores"*
I can find the configuration file in the following location
    Configuration Files
    DOMAIN_HOME/config/jms
If a JMS uses file-system accessible stores, the default file-system store is either in a user-configured location that is specified in config.xml, or in the following location:
    DOMAIN_HOME/servers/server_name/data/store/default
But my question is where does the Stores file is found inorder to take the back up.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
First you need to take inventory of all Z developments ( Reports, FM's....)
Find out the Impacted FM's and programs....!!!
check for all the cloned programs/Includes...
check if the system is unicode enabled.
    SPAU corrections
    SPDD corrections
If System if Unicode ( correct unicode errors )
correct the obsolete FM's and obsolete declarations.
Correction for errors at time of testing.....SAP notes will help a lot in correcting many errors..
    post go live support ....!!!
    Few important points :-
FM “LIST_TO_SPOOL” not in ECC6.0.  use FM is “LIST_TO_ASCII”.
Table TVARV has become obsolete. New table TVARVC has been introduced. We copied data from TVARV to TVARVC. ( check SAP note for Details )
Took back up of data in table T512W to T512B .Data can be restored after upgrade using the report “RPU12W0C”. ( check SAP note for Details )
FMs like “WS_UPLOAD” and “WS_DOWNLOAD” are obsolete now. The new FMs are “GUI_UPLOAD” and “GUI_DOWNLOAD”.
New Debugger is introduced.....Debugging is easy and user friendly.
u'll have to change few BDC screen numbers.....whose Screen numbers are changed in ECC...( u'll come accross this errors in Unit testing)
let me know.......if you need any more information....As you start working on the Upgrade...!!!!

You just need to copy pfile/spfile to 11.2.0.2 home and then follow the 11.2.0.2 patch readme file for upgrade.
It will be startup upgrade and then catupgrd.sql ..

  • Big upgrade - moving from 10.4.11 to 10.6.4 AND fro, iPhone 1 to iPhone 4

I realize I have a unique situation and have been unable to find an answer..
I'm making a big upgrade in my system - my questions:
    1) What is my best bet for moving my Address Book - currently on PowerBook G4 running 10.4.11 and on iPhone 1 - to my new set up - iMac running 10.6.4 and iPhone 4?
I would prefer not to launch Rosetta - I've avoided it thus far and am hoping to NOT launch Power PC apps on this new machine.. and so I'm not sure if I should sync the original iPhone in order to move the info or if I should migrate it from the PowerBook to the iMac..?
Thanks very much guys and gals - hope you all have a nice day.

Your situation is anything but unique. The easiest method is to use Migration Assistant on your new computer to transfer what should be transferred from your old computer. Both computers support Firewire. You will need a 6-pin to 9-pin Firewire cable that you should be able to find at any local store selling computers - Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Apple Store, etc. Read the following:
A Basic Guide for Migrating to Intel-Macs
The Knowledgebase article Intel-based Mac: Some migrated applications may need to be updated refers to methods of dealing with migrating from PowerPC chips to Intel with the Migration Assistant safely. The authors of this tip have not had a chance to verify this works in all instances, or that it avoids the 10.6.1 and earlier Guest Account bug that caused account information to get deleted upon use of the Migration/Setup Assistant. However, a well backed up source that includes at least two backups of all the data that are not connected to your machine will help you avoid potential issues, should they arise. In event it does not work, follow the steps below.
If you are migrating a PowerPC system (G3, G4, or G5) to an Intel-Mac be careful what you migrate. Keep in mind that some items that may get transferred will not work on Intel machines and may end up causing your computer's operating system to malfunction.
Rosetta supports "software that runs on the PowerPC G3, G4, or G5 processor that are built for Mac OS X". This excludes the items that are not universal binaries or simply will not work in Rosetta:
Classic Environment, and subsequently any Mac OS 9 or earlier applications
    Screensavers written for the PowerPC
    System Preference add-ons
    All Unsanity Haxies
    Browser and other plug-ins
    Contextual Menu Items
Applications which specifically require the PowerPC G5
    Kernel extensions
Java applications with JNI (PowerPC) libraries
See also What Can Be Translated by Rosetta.
In addition to the above you could also have problems with migrated cache files and/or cache files containing code that is incompatible.
If you migrate a user folder that contains any of these items, you may find that your Intel-Mac is malfunctioning. It would be wise to take care when migrating your systems from a PowerPC platform to an Intel-Mac platform to assure that you do not migrate these incompatible items.
If you have problems with applications not working, then completely uninstall said application and reinstall it from scratch. Take great care with Java applications and Java-based Peer-to-Peer applications. Many Java apps will not work on Intel-Macs as they are currently compiled. As of this time Limewire, Cabos, and Acquisition are available as universal binaries. Do not install browser plug-ins such as Flash or Shockwave from downloaded installers unless they are universal binaries. The version of OS X installed on your Intel-Mac comes with special compatible versions of Flash and Shockwave plug-ins for use with your browser.
The same problem will exist for any hardware drivers such as mouse software unless the drivers have been compiled as universal binaries. For third-party mice the current choices are USB Overdrive or SteerMouse. Contact the developer or manufacturer of your third-party mouse software to find out when a universal binary version will be available.
Also be careful with some backup utilities and third-party disk repair utilities. Disk Warrior 4.1, TechTool Pro 4.6.1, SuperDuper 2.5, and Drive Genius 2.0.2 work properly on Intel-Macs with Leopard. The same caution may apply to the many "maintenance" utilities that have not yet been converted to universal binaries. Leopard Cache Cleaner, Onyx, TinkerTool System, and Cocktail are now compatible with Leopard.
Before migrating or installing software on your Intel-Mac check MacFixit's Rosetta Compatibility Index.
Additional links that will be helpful to new Intel-Mac users:

Transferring data with Setup Assistant - Migration Assistant FAQ
Because Migration Assistant isn't the ideal way to migrate from PowerPC to Intel Macs, using Target Disk Mode, copying the critical contents to CD and DVD, an external hard drive, or networking
will work better when moving from PowerPC to Intel Macs. The initial section below discusses Target Disk Mode. It is then followed by a section which discusses networking with Macs that lack Firewire.
If both computers support the use of Firewire then you can use the following instructions:
    1. Repair the hard drive and permissions using Disk Utility.
    2. Backup your data. This is vitally important in case you make a mistake or there's some other problem.
    3. Connect a Firewire cable between your old Mac and your new Intel Mac.
    4. Startup your old Mac in Target Disk Mode.
    5. Startup your new Mac for the first time, go through the setup and registration screens, but do NOT migrate data over. Get to your desktop on the new Mac without migrating any new data over.
If you are not able to use a Firewire connection (for example you have a Late 2008 MacBook that only supports USB:)
    1. Set up a local home network: Creating a small Ethernet Network.
    2. If you have a MacBook Air or Late 2008 MacBook see the following:

    MacBook Air- Migration Tips and Tricks;
MacBook Air- Remote Disc, Migration, or Remote Install Mac OS X and wireless 802.11n networks.
Copy the following items from your old Mac to the new Mac:
In your /Home/ folder: Documents, Movies, Music, Pictures, and Sites folders.
    In your /Home/Library/ folder:
/Home/Library/Application Support/AddressBook (copy the whole folder)
/Home/Library/Application Support/iCal (copy the whole folder)
Also in /Home/Library/Application Support (copy whatever else you need including folders for any third-party applications)
    /Home/Library/Keychains (copy the whole folder)
    /Home/Library/Mail (copy the whole folder)
    /Home/Library/Preferences/ (copy the whole folder)
/Home /Library/Calendars (copy the whole folder)
/Home /Library/iTunes (copy the whole folder)
/Home /Library/Safari (copy the whole folder)
    If you want cookies:
    /Home/Library/Cookies/Cookies.plist
    /Home/Library/Application Support/WebFoundation/HTTPCookies.plist
    For Entourage users:
Entourage is in /Home/Documents/Microsoft User Data
    Also in /Home/Library/Preferences/Microsoft
Credit goes to Macjack for this information.
If you need to transfer data for other applications please ask the vendor or ask in the Discussions where specific applications store their data.
    5. Once you have transferred what you need restart the new Mac and test to make sure the contents are there for each of the applications.

  • Upgrading iMovie from v9.0.9 to v10 with projects and events on external HD

Seem to be running into an issue using iMovie v10 post-upgrade...
I run iMovie v9.0.9 with many projects and events on several external (multi-TB) hard drives. They would not fit on my primary HD due to sheer file size.
I was able to upgrade to v10, but when I tried to convert my existing iMovie library, my primary HD suddenly got a disk out of space error. It appears that the library conversion process is consolidating project and event files from the external drives onto the primary drive. Is this to be expected? Are external drives still supported with iMovie v10?
Not sure the best way to proceed, other than to continue using the old library and iMovie v9.0.9 (which thankfully still works) and try to descipher what files to delete from my now-full primary drive.

Likewise. I was afraid there might be a problem when they let Sarah Palin name the new OS.
I have a 500 GB hard drive that had 100 GB free space before "10.9 Mavericks." Now the disk is full. The iMovie Library on my internal HD is 106.1 GB, and "iMovie Theater.theater" (sic) that is 90.3 GB. The computer is now slower than slow. Also, events that were organized under the names of the Hard Drive that contained them, are now simply called iMovie Library 1, iMovie Library 2, iMovie Library 3, iMovie Library 4, iMovie Library 5, etc.
I had to use my finder and re-name the libraries to indicate the name and size of each HD. in the new iMovie interface.
I copied the events from the internal iMovie library to an external library now called "iMovie Library July2013-3TB" and then moved the events to trash. But the events did not appear in trash, and cannot be emptied. So, the HD is still full.
It seems that the new iMove just wants to fill any available HD space with iMovie Theater (sic) whatever that is. I can't realy explore the new OS until I deal with the HD issue. Fortunately, iMovie 9 is still there, so I can go back to using it. I wll try to drage the iMovie library to an external drive and delete the iMovie Library, iMovie Theatre.theatre, and go back to using iMovie 9. I may never open iMovie 10 again, since the mere act of opening it preceeds the destruction of disk space.

  • Trying to upgrade itunes from 10.1.1 to 10.1.2 and it's hanging up

    Hi,
I'm so frustrated! I got a new iPhone today and want to be able to synch it with my itunes, but i needed to update itunes to the latest version. I click check for updates, it tells me there is a new version, i start the download, and half way through, i get a message to close itunes to continue the installation. I do that, and it seems to be continuing, the status bar is moving, but it never finishes. It sits at 'installing 1 item' and says 'running package scripts' and it stays there for at least a half hour now. I tried dl'ing itunes all over again and the same thing happens. Any ideas out there? Thanks so much!

try *removing iTunes completely* (click here and follow the instructions), then reinstall it using the standalone installer from here: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/.
note this will not do anything to your media files, playlists, ratings, etc.

I have a issue, the system is on 12.1.2, and i want to define layout for FA-MASSADDITION DETAILED like on 12.1.3, can see the attribute1-30.
How can i do or apply any patch?

Your question is not clear. The subject of the threads is "How to upgrade WEBADI from 12.1.2 to 12.1.3" and you want to create a layout in 12.1.2
Do you mean to say that this layout works properly in 12.1.3 and you want the same layout to work in 12.1.2? If yes, please see if these docs help.
