Question re EMDIAG REPVFY Kit

In answering questions for an Oracle service request I was asked to run the EMDIAG Repvfy kit against my Enterprise Manager Repository. In looking at the results there is an Action specified for each section of the analysis.SOme make sense, some are of the form -
= Action:
= - Run the fix routine:
= $ repvfy verify <item> -test <section no.> -fix
My question is how do I decide if it is in fact ok to run the fix statement without really breaking anything? Searching Oracle Docs, MOS and the web does not really return a lot of information.
Another question I have is what does the -test qualifier do?
If someone can point me at answers to my questions I would appreciate it.

Provide the new Middle ware Home.
"Upgrade to 12c Release 3 (12.1.0.3) is an out-of-place upgrade, therefore you must either select an existing middleware home (where Enterprise Manager is not already installed) or enter a new middleware home where Oracle WebLogic Server and Java Development Kit are installed." This mean, if you already have any other location where the supported JDK & WLS were installed, then you can provide that home and it deploys the manager server on top of it.
Else, it will install new JDK & WLS and deploy the managed server.
So, go with a new Middleware Home.

Nano/Nike+ question. Will old kit work on the new iPod nano?

i had a 2nd generation nano with the nike+ kit when it first came out. i was given a 4th generation nano for xmas and was wondering if i can use the same nike+ kit or do i need to purchase a newer one? anyone know?

I have used the same Nike plus sports kit on all my ipods (2nd gen/3rd gen and the new 4th gen). You only have to purchase a new kit when the battery needs replacing.

Distribution kit calling 32Bit or 64Bit executable

Hello,
my CVI app distribution calls an executable that installs a hardware driver. Unfortunately, that executable (DPInst.exe) has separate versions for 32bit and 64bit OSs.
Question:
can the distribution kit (CVI 2009) be configured to call e.g.
"DPInst32.exe" when my app gets installed on a32bBit system, and
"DPInst64.exe" on a 64bit system?
or
What would be an other solution for that kind of problem?

thanks for you feedback. I don't want to distribute and maintain different versions for 32bit and 64 bit OS of my CVI application, just because a small USB driver of an accessory has two versions. In the meantime, I came up with a different idea.
The distribution calls an executable that
a) checks wether it runs on a 32bit or 64bit OS
b) then calls the correct DPInst.exe version
This is quite easy:
I'm using this example code to check the OS version.
with that I call this code at the end of the installation:

1. Note that the search is case sensitive. Therefore you should search for java and Java.

Problem Installing Flex Component Kit for Flash CS3

Generic delta creation with Extractor Starter Kit - BW Datasource option

Do these starter kits have any support for delta (periodic data updates) after the initial load is completed?
A. Yes. Deltas are available (for all source objects that support delta mechanism) in both of the extraction options. You don't need to reload the full set of data, when you perform the periodic data updates.
I understand you can use the date range but this in my view is still a full load. We understand that you can create your own generic datasource based on the generated function module generated by generating the object, for e.g PO.
We have tried to do this for the object PO, thus the following:-
rso2 > create a new transaction datasource > base on generated datasource (Z_SADSERPPO) and use it's fm and extract strucutre :- Z_SAERPPO_DS fm , ZEXTR_ERPPO extr structure
When we goto to create a generic delta based on DATE_RANGE we get the error message ::-
Z_PDPOTEST: TABLES-paramter E_T_DATA for extractor Z_SAERPPO_DS is missing
Can you create a blog around this as we understand other customers have managed to create these deltas?

Hi Claudia,
That's fine, please continue to use the Z_SA_DEPD to generate the datasource. If you then do a rsa2 on this datasource, you can see the underlying function module and the extract structure for this which is also fine.
The bizarre thing is that through rso2 for this generated extractor, you cannot see the fm associated for this, hence why the generic delta is not working.
What we thought of doing and in line with the sap recommendation was to create a new transaction datasource from tcode rso2 and base it on the above function module and extract structure, but when we goto choose the date_range as the generic delta, it doesn't work and gives the error.
Am still waiting an answer.

There are now two Nike+ Sport kit discussion forums

Looks like Apple is splitting the Nike+ Sport kit forum into two groups--1st generation and 2nd generation Nanos. Here's the link for the Nike+ Sport kit for the 2nd gen Nano http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1132
It is also harder to find these two groups if you are new to the Apple Forums. (I asked some friends who don't use the forums to try this out and they were baffled how to find the two Nike+ Sport Kit discussion forums.)

I suspect it's simply that Apple is dividing up discussions in a way that seems logical to them and then indexing accordingly. So if there are two generations of Nanos, they have two Nike+ Sport kit forums. Simple for Apple. Not so simple for users of the Nike+ Sport kit.
For example, I will soon own both Nanos, so when I have question about the Nike+ kit my question will probably relate to both Nanos and will have to post my question on both forums. When I answer questions, the answers about Nike+ in many cases will be the same on both forums. And when the third generation Nano comes out, same drill, now multiplied 3 times!
So rather than splitting the Nike+ forum to follow the multiple generations of Nanos, it would make more sense for members of the Nike+ Sport Kit discussion forum to have one forum for us that includes all generations of Nanos.

Buying KIT items

I have two questions:
1. How KIT items have to be handled in inventory and purchasing?
2. Does anybody have any idea how to handle following case?
We need to buy Kit items. Take this example: A is a kit consist of B and C. We need to create a requisition for A. Afterward quotation would be held for purchasing A. Each supplier will propose a price for A, but prices are proposed per different items of A, i.e. prices are for B and C. So when entering RFQ information we have only A but when entering quotation we have B and C. Later on when item is received costing has to be done for A not B and C.

Creator of PR is not aware of what parts may A have. Later on, when quotation is performed, it would be clarified that A includes B and C. Hence PO has to be created for B and C not A. (Maybe we can handle receiving of different items per a kit, I mean that suppose that user company accepts to receive B and C instead of A). How such a case could be handled?
If possible, please let me know how we can simulate concept of KIT in Purchasing and Inventory?

RAM upgrade 8gb question

Been very happy with MBP 13 (mid-2009/5,1), 500GB/7200 and 4GB memory.
Now as I do more graphic/video (CS5) and occasional VM+Win work, I feel the need to increase the memory upto 8GB.
So far, I found two places to purchase 8gb memory kits.

Question:
1. Crucial kit from Newegg is compatible with MBP, right?
2. I have no experience with OWC. Are their memory kit based on well-known manufacturer?

NewEgg also has listings for memory specifically for Macs. Specs all appear to be the same, but brings the price to the same as OWC (for the Mushkin).
As for OWC, as stated in the preceding reply, they are reputable. I have seen more countless recommendations for them when it comes to 3rd party Mac parts. I picked up 12GB of RAM for my Mac Pro from them and have had zero issues.
