Question re IPAD battery charging
I am going to England. Do I need to buy a transformer to recharge my IPAD by plugging it into a wall socket?
Peter
No, the iPad's charger is rated for 100 to 240 V, so all you will need is a plug converter (assuming that you coming from a country that doesn't use the same plug system).

Hi, I'm using a iPad since 8 months, no problem till few days ago, when a experience a battery charge problem: with several USB cable e 3 different charger the iPad don't charge at all.
I have tried the charge and sync from my Mac, same situation: no synchronization no charge!
I did a switch off and on again of iPad: no results !!
I have tried a software reset: no results!!
Can somebody help me?
lambertoDoes the computer recognize the iPad? Does the iPad come on at all--like can you see the battery icon? Try and restore it. If that does not work, you may have a battery or logic board that failed.
Try these basic troubleshooting steps to eliminate a software issue.

Hello all,
Is there a problem charging everytime my iPad 4 when it reaches 5% of battery?
I do it everytime and i only discharge it totally (till it goes off) twice a month...
Thanks a lot,
Miguel GarciaThe quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. HT4060 Is it true you hve to let the IPad battery get real low before you charge it?
I have been told that if I charge the iPad when it is at 1/2 charge that the iPad will start to remember that it needs charged again. I was told the iPad will think it is a in a lower charge than it actually is. So if I charge it every day at 1/2 charge by the time it gets to 1/2 charge, it will slow down or may not work. This doesn't make any sense to me. If full, is 100% 50% 20% why would the iPad think it needed charged when it was at half charge. Does it have a mind. Does it cause it to think in that position if I charge it at 1/2 charge? Does it sinc in that spot? Hope you understand what I am trying to tell you. My son is good with the computer electronics but this has me stumped?
Thank You, Judy VenemaFYI

Hi , I want to use asus air charger to charge my ipad 4 with my computer. does this software harm my ipad battery? can I use it? thanks
Look at this description and review. http://asus-ai-charger.en.softonic.com/
The app is free, So it won't cost to try. The iPad 4 comes with a 12W wall charger. Most computer USB ports output only 2.5W, so even if you get a 50% increase, it will still take a long time to charge your iPad.
Bottom line - Use the wall charger.
Here's some battery/charging info.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). IPad battery fully discharged and now will not take a new charge
I've had this baby plugged in for 6 hours and it won't even charge to 10%. I am using an Apple supplied cord and charger.
Plug the USB cable into your computer. The iPad will say "Not Charging", however, it will charge but slowly.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

My Ipad battery does not charge
Hi everyone,
Hope some of you can help me out. My IPad battery gone flat and it does not charge. I tried different sockets, different chargers, tried to plug in to pc and charge it but to no avail. Could be that it needs new battery? I this Ipad for 2 years now.May need a new battery.
Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.

How long should it take my iPad to charge
How long should it take my iPad to charge?
What model iPad? 1,2,3,4 or mini? When you ask a question, you need to provide enough info to answer.
I assume you mean from near 0% to 100%.
Depending on the model, it takes 3 to about 8 hours.
Right way for battery charging
Hi everybody! I bought an iPad Air when he was released. Surfing on Internet, I've heard conflicting opinions about the right way to charge the iPad (or the iPhone) to increase its battery life. What I want to ask is this: iit is true that once a month you have to bring the battery to 0% and then charging it?
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. My iPad2 will not charge all of a sudden I don't know why. I'm using a wall charger and the battery symbol doesn't show up as being charged.
Could be the cable, charger or iPad. Plug the cable into your computer, if it says not charging, the cable is good.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

IPAD wont charge to 100% in one shot
I never noticed this when I got the ipad but it seems like the past 3 for months I have had this issue.
I bought my Ipad new from an Apple store in Sept 2012 so I think it is an IPAD 2.
Using the charger provided .. if my battery is at 15% I will plug it in and go to bed.
The next morning I wake up and it is at 68%.. or 71%.. sometimes 80% and "Not Charging"
I unplug it and plug it back in and I can get to 90% .. then . "Not Charging"
Unplug it again and check back and 100% Not Charging.
I think when I got it it would just go up to 100% overnight .. I dont remember seeing the Not Charging even at 100%
I have not tried a new power supply because they are pretty expensive for something I might not actually need.
Thoughts? Not normal. Take it to an Apple Store for evaluation. The charger is still covered by Apple's 1-year warranty. If defective, you'll get a free replacement
