Question Re video and Ipad +apple tv

I rented a SD video from Itunes videos this weekend. I downloaded to Ipad2 and wanted to project through apple TV as I have doen many many times. The sound came through, and the video showed the progress bar and icon of the movie but no visual, why is that???

Up until recently content on itms has been aimed at the ipod and encoded at around 1500 kbps which is below DVD quality IMHO and may well be what you have seen. I'm in the UK and cannot take a look at the new rental content but given the size of the files being reported by those that can, it seems rental quality is encoded at around 2500 kbps, but I could do with someone confirming this.
2500kbps IMHO will give you DVD quality, no-one actually knows how HD will be encoded but one has to assume it will be significantly above 2500 kbps, FWIW my guess would be between 3500 and 4300 kbps

I'm not sure what you mean by the 'apple support contact wont open' (?). If you mean the 'contact iTunes Store support' link on the page that you posted from I've just tried it and it seems to wok ok for me, though I haven't gone as far as to actually contact them.
You can contact either iTunes Support or Apple to get the questions reset.
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then 'Forgotten Apple ID security questions'
or try ringing Apple in your country and ask to talk to the Accounts Security Team : http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
When they've been reset you can then use the steps on the page that you posted from to add a rescue email address for potential future use, or if it's available in your country you could change to 2-step verification : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5570

Bluetooth Headphones and iPad/Apple TV; audio-video split

Apparently Apple TV can't output to Bluetooth headphones?
Is it possible to say; play a YouTube Vid on iPad; where the video is Airstreamed to Apple TV; but the audio output goes from the iPad to a set of Bluetooth Headphones; instead of to the TV? Bluetooth headphones work fine with an iPad.

Probably software - it would actually be a great enhancement for many people.

Canon 600d video and iPad 2

I purchased a camera connection kit to use with my iPad 2 and my Canon EOS 600d DSLR camera. It had a bit of problem reading my camera and SD card but this appears to be solved by switching the iPad on and off again. However, any imported video shot on the Canon will not play on the iPad. All it shows is a greyed out thumbnail with MOV on it. I can't understand this as I assume MOV is a Quicktime format - an Apple application, which I expected to be able to play on an iPad - an Apple device. Am I doing something wrong? Or am I missing something?

The videos from my canon compact (G10) play ok when imported via the camera connection kit - they import, appear, and play in the Photos app just by tapping on them. They need to be in a supported format :
Video formats supported: H.264 video up to 720p, 30 frames per second, Main Profile level 3.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format
Whilst in GoodReader I can then copy them to it and view them in that app as well.

IPhone 6 video and iPad Mini

I tried to sync the photos and video on my iPad mini this morning. It seems that recent video shot with my iPhone (last couple of weeks?) is no longer supported. Is this correct?

Does anyone have any ideas on this matter. Any help is appreciated.

New lightroom mobile synch question between DSLR and iPad

If you are in the field and you synch wirelessly to the iPad or use import feature from cards, will lightroom mobile synch seamlessly to lightroom CC. For example, starting workflow from camera to iPad to computer?

Just to be totally clear - on both devices you have it set up like this.....
Settings>iTunes and App Stores>Automatic Downloads>Apps>On, and you are using the same Apple ID on both devices and are signed into your ID in that setting?
As for the purchased app, if it is an iPhone app and you went to the purchase tab of the App Store, you have to tap on iPhone Apps at the top of the screen in order to see it. Is it an iPhone app and did you do that?

ITunes 9.2, m4v videos, and iPad

I have several video files converted via handbrake to m4v format that were downloading and playing fine from my mac to my iPad before I upgraded to iTunes 9.2. However, since the upgrade, the movies download to the iPad but the tablet doesn't seem to see them... the computer says they're there, and they take up memory, but they aren't listed as a playable file in video app. Anybody else having issues with this?

update: curiously enough, it works on the iPhone (3GS with current system) when I try to download the files there... and they play if I file sync them over with GoodReader and play them inside the app.

Keynote videos and iPads

Last year I used keynote to create a presentation with video in it and it worked fine on an ipad. I inserted the videos into keynote on my desktop then they were played on the ipad. Now when I create them the videos do not work on the ipad. Any ideas?? I have tried different types of video file and made them really small in size etc...

the accepted spec for creating video for the iPad is: 1280x720 H.264 video, 30 frames per second, 3025 Kbps

I have tried to rent a video two times with my ipad. When i then connect the ipad to my pc (DELL INSPIRON 9400) the pc goes down immediately (after flashing a blue and white DOS window for a second). I have to reset my ipad to get things started again. Any suggestions??

Question about Sketchbook and Ipad

I use SketchBook and would like to know how to get my drawings from my Ipad to my Imac. I expect this is probably quite simply but I am not very technically minded.

Based on what was or is avaialble with a combination LTE/GSM radio, Apple chose what is compatible with the major carriers in the U.S. first and foremost.
If none of the carriers there will support 700 and 2100 Mhz for LTE, you should still have 3G network access with the iPad.

I Am trying to great a html5 video in edge and when I use the publish box and create a 'oam' file and place it in muse. It will not play on the Ipa.

I have two problems that I just can not find support or solve…yet;) Problems have to do with creating a Motion Graphic portfolio section in a video gallery lightbox environment.
1) When I link video from Vimeo or YouTube, there are unattractive add ons at the end of video which allow viewer to choose other peoples videos to watch. How do I get rid of the clutter? Would it be best if I hosted my own video so that it is clean looking? I have about 15 or 20 video between 10-15 seconds long to post. They don’t need to be full screen, 500px width is good. Too much for self hosting as an asset?
2) How do I create a video gallery in a lightbox tabbed environment? So far, I have the tabs create . Major problem is getting the lightbox to behave the same with videos as it does with images. I found something last night, messed around with it, but still don’t understand how to make it work properly because it does not come with instruction. Newbie question: Rotating video and resizing the frame

Hey guys'n'gals,
I'm new at doing "advanced" (relative term) editing to video in Adobe Premiere Pro (CS4 version 4.2.1) and was hoping that 1) there's a way to change the output size of a video (IE: 640X480 to 480X640), 2) that someone can please tell me how, and 3) how to rotate the video that's currently sideways.

I'm not sure that I am following. You say that you have the Video shot vertically, i.e. rotated 90 degrees, but then want to Export to a vertical Aspect Ratio.
First, you can just choose a Desktop Preset, set the Aspect Ratio to match your footage, and then Export that to a delivery scheme that allows complete control of the Aspect Ratio - obviously not any of the DV/BD formats.
Now, if you want to Rotate that vertical footage to horizontal, you can use the fixed Effect>Rotate. Note: you will have to now resize your footage to fit into a horizontal Frame Size Aspect Ratio. This would then allow you to Export to a horizontal Aspect Ratio, but I am not sure that this is what you really want in the end.

Ipad apple ID account is deactivated and don't know the password or security questions

I have had an ipad for 12 months, my husband created an icloud account on it ([email protected]) but since then we have never used the ipad to log into apple website, itunes etc. Recently I purchased a MAC and iphone5 and after downloading the latest itunes to then sync all 3 together the ipad then asked for apple ID and password even though it had never asked for this before. The trouble is the ipad apple ID is an icloud one, ie. an email account that belongs to Apple, so we cannot reset the password via email as we don't have access to the email, and one of the security questions answers comes up wrong all the time. Because we have tried several times to remember the password the apple ID is now deactivated and the only way to re-activate it is via email verification (impossible) or security questions (impossible). We tried connecting ipad to computer and restoring factory settings, but the ipad continues to ask for apple ID and password...help... customer service Apple in Spain has more or less told us if we can't remember the security questions or password and have no recovery email (which we don't) then basically the device is useless!!!! Urm, that ipad cost a lot of money to just "throw it away". Any advice you can give me?

While other developers are offering much better apps like pinnacle studio for video, Cubasis and Auria for music production, apple has not showed much growth in terms of innovation. While there's nothing wrong with making an app like GarageBand where "anyone " can make a song, how about something for real musicians or an app not so basic as it get for video editing? After spending 0ver $700 on an ipad I'd be willing to spend more than $5 for a better video or audio app.

First, try a system reset although I can't give you any confidence. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

Here are the steps for AirPlay:
Before starting Azul from your (running iOS 5.x/6.x) home screen where have have all your apps we need to turn on mirroring
On your iPhone 4S/5 or iPad 2 or 3, double-click the Home Button to view your recently-used apps.
Swipe all the way to the right to until you see the icon.
Note: If the icon does not appear, go to the "If AirPlay Mirroring is not visible or available on your mobile iOS device" section.
Tap the icon to see the list of available AirPlay devices.
Enable AirPlay Mirroring in this menu by tapping on an available Apple TV, then sliding the Mirroring slider to ON.
Now you should be seeing your iPad/iPhone on your TV.
Start up Azul now and using the settings icon on the top right corner go to the option that say "TV out" ON.
When you do that you will see an Orange screen
Now click "Done" and play the video you want to watch and it will AirPlay
