Question regarding Memory in Xperia C and updating Xperia C to 4.3

Dear Sir,
When shall we get update for 4.3 version? Further please tell me what is the difference between Device Memory and Internal Storage. Whether Internal storage can be used against device memory. Phone runs slow due to less Device memory.
In my mobile gollowing is the status
1. Total Device Memory  :   0.98GB         Used Device Memory : 503 MB       Remaining Device Memory : 282 MB
2. Total RAM  :   973MB        Available RAM : 314 MB
3. Internal Storage : 1.21 GB      Available Internal Storage : 1.2 GB

  • Question regarding ONT connection via Ethernet and Cable cards

    Hi,
We recently upgraded to Fios Quation 150Mbps/65  plan. We are not getting the advertised speeds (we only get like 5mbps upload) so verizon is sending a tech to switch the ONT connection from coax to ethernet.
I have 2 questions regarding this new setup:
    1. If the ONT communicates with the Fios Actiontect router via ethernet instead of coax from now on, How will the set top boxes and Tivo-esque cable card powered device I currently have connected to coax, talk to the verizon system from now on, if coax is taken out of the equation? Will fios signal still flow through the internal coax wiring of the house? And moreover, I was under the impression that coax was the way set top boxes communicated and derived independent ip addresses from the Fios router, for on deman purposes and what not. How will this work from now on?
    Quiestion 2.
Right next to the wall where the ONT sits, theres's a basement office where we have a PC that connects to the Fios system  via an Actiontect MoCa adapter (ECB2500C) which I assume derives it internet connection from the Fios Actiontec router which sits upstairs in the living room.
Again, with the Coax about to be disabled next Friday in favor of ethernet connection from the ONT, I assume this PC will be left without internet because of the lack of internet signal in the coax? Is this correct?
Question 2.5 If my above assumption is correct, since this office is right on the other side of the wall where the ONT sits outside the house, would it be possible to run an ethernet wire through the wall that connects straight from the ONT to an ethernet switch inside the office, from which I would derive a connection for this basement PC (properly firewalled of course) and then, from said switch, continue running the ethernet wire that would ultimately reach the Actiontec Fios router upstairs from which the rest of the house derives it's internet?  and would this setup affect in any way the propper functioning of the cable boxes in the house?
I'd appreciate your input and any help you can provide so I can have a ballpark idea of what to tell the Fios guy to do when he comes on Friday.
    Cheers.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

It's not valid to have two devices connected to the ONT, PC and VZ Router.  Must be a single device. The ONT locks onto the MAC Address of the first device it sees. Since you have TV you should have the VZ router as the internet facing router.
    Other options:
    1.  Have the VZ Router located next to the PC in the basement and then use Wireless for all other PC's.
    2.  Have the VZ Router located next to the PC in the basement but run one wire upstairs and connect a switch where other PCs and devices can connect via a wire.
    Hope that helps.

  • Question regarding cancelation of wireless contract and signing a new one

Hi,  I have a question regarding my contract. My Cell was stolen 2 days ago ( Iphone 5)  had it for about year and 2 months. now I have a dilemma when it comes on getting a new device. the rep told me she can offer me some S... phones for over $200 as a replacement or I to look up Amazon; Ebay and craiglist. I also don't want to pay a retail price for a brand new device. So I was thinking of cancelation of this contract paying the fee and signing up a new contract with a new device like Iphone 5s or Samsung Galaxy. My question is, are there any waiting periods for doing such a thing, or I could do it at the same time, ditch old contract and sign for new one.

I really want to take a closer look at your options, Filip.M. We definitely wouldn't want to see you cancelling out all the great history you have with us already. I have sent you a follow request here in the forum. Please access https://community.verizonwireless.com/actions to accept my request and follow me back so you can send me a private message with your name and mobile number so we can get started.

  • Question regarding memory on linux platforms

Customer recently upgraded from OCS 9i to 10g. The mail store database for OCS is a RAC 10.1.0.5 two node database. I have questions about which method is best to use to have a SGA bigger than 1.7GB on Linux x86 servers.
On the new OCS 10g mail store database, HWm enqueues are found to impact
database performance while the mail store receives very large quantities of
email in a short time. Oracle support and Enterprise Manager's ADDM has
recommended increasing the size of the SGA to help reduce HWm enqueues.
The max SGA size is currently 1648MB.
Servers are Red Hat 4 update 5. Each server in the two node RAC has 16GB of
RAM, with 4 processors (8 cores on each server). The kernel is the 2.6 SMP
    kernel: Linux prcodb01.its.calpoly.edu 2.6.9-55.0.9.ELsmp #1 SMP Tue Sep 25 02:
    17:24 EDT 2007 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
    Here are customer questions:
Oracle states that 1.7GB is the current limit with my systems current
configuration. When the Oracle documents reference 1.7GB, can I safely assume
    that 1.7GB = 1740MB? I'd be safe using a max SGA size of 1739MB?
I've read Metalink notes 260152.1 and 329378.1. Looking at options listed in
260152.1, two options are listed for Red Hat 4.0, "configuration 3" and
"configuration 4" which required use of the hugemem kernel. Besides the
difference in the SGA sizes available between those two options, are there any
drawbacks from choosing one option over the other? Is there any drawback in
using the hugemem kernel over the plain smp kernel?

    Hi,
For that question, Is there any drawback in using the hugemem kernel over the plain smp kernel ?

  • Question regarding Antec Power Trio 550 and GSkill PC8500 RAM on P7N Diamond

    Good Afternoon,
I recently built a new machine using the P7N Diamond System Board. Here are the current Specs
    Intel Q6600 Processor
    G.Skill 2 GB PC8500 RAM PK Series
    Seagate Barracudda SATAII HDD
GeForce 9600 GT OC 512M (BFG TECH)
    Antec Power Trio 550 PSU
I have 2 questions, I configured the RAM in my bios to run at 1066 with manual timings that the manufacturer gave as CL5-5-5-15 and while it is runs at 1066 I'm only getting a Vista Rating of 5.0 for the ram while everything else is at 5.9. If anyone is running G.Skill RAM on this board and have gotten better numbers please share with me what you did to achieve it.
Second Question, I noticed there was no dedicated power supply fan connector on this MB, in order to take advantage of the Antec Smart Fan technology do I need to plug this fan connector into a specific system fan connector port on the Motherboard??
    Thanks in Advance

Ignore the Vista rating, it is not accurate to beging with.  Run a memory performance test with some benchmark tool and compare the numbers there.

  • Question regarding Memory Consumption in Collections

I Read this on some website -
Memory for collections is stored in the program global area (PGA), not the system global area (SGA). SGA memory is shared by all sessions connected to Oracle Database, but PGA memory is allocated for each session. Thus, if a program requires 5MB of memory to populate a collection and there are 100 simultaneous connections, that program causes the consumption of 500MB of PGA memory, in addition to the memory allocated to the SGA.
    My Question is -
If i use Collections in my Procedures and they consume 5 MB space, is the memory still allocated to the session even if the Procedure completes its execution ??
I mean is memory released for other sessions after procedure completion or session termination ??

    user9276238 wrote:
If i use Collections in my Procedures and they consume 5 MB space, is the memory still allocated to the session even if the Procedure completes its execution ??Yes. How does the session know that your very next instruction to it is not run that very same procedure again (with different parameters). It will again need 5MB of memory. And if releases, it will need to reallocate it. If all processes work like this, immediately releasing memory and then grabbing memory again - that could cause contention and other issues.
Memory management is more complex than this. For example, let's say your session required 1 few KB of space. So the process's memory looks something as follows:
    xxxx
Next your session needs that 5MB for the (enormous) collection:
    xxxxyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
And during the processing, it needs a few KB more:
    xxxxyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyzz
Okay, so now it can release the 5MB memory (as indicated by the y ) back to the kernel? It cannot shrink it as there is trailing memory allocated and used (as indicated by the z ). It will need to re-org that memory in order to release that 5MB worth of y's.
So it is not as straight forward as one would like to think. The basic rule for PL/SQL is to tread softly using memory. Why? Because this is server code. Memory used in PL is allocated as private memory to that process. Unlike shared memory, no-one else can share in its use. Thus the memory must be considered expensive.
There's also the issue of scalability. If your PL code needs 5MB of private memory from the server.. what happens when a 100 client sessions all run your code? How well does your code scale in a multi-process and multi-server environment?
So what memory should you ideally then use in PL? Shared memory. The SGA. This means it is better for scalability and server resources to rather store large data structures for PL as GTT's (global temporary tables - where a temp table is created per session).
I mean is memory released for other sessions after procedure completion or session termination ??Session termination is a "sure thing" ito memory being released back to the kernel as free memory - assuming this is a dedicated server session. The actual server process will terminate and its PGA will be released. Shared server processes services multiple sessions during their life time. And only when the the shared server process terminates, will its PGA be released.(though PGAs can be shrunk as and when decided feasible by their memory managers)

  • Question regarding the execution of cursors and SQL statements

    Hi,
I have cursor which fetches results from a table A.
Now, simultaneously, in other session, I ran an update on the table A and commited it.
    1) My question is will the cursor keep fetching the old results or the cursor start fetching the new values when the data is committed?
    2) I have a similar question in SQL too. We generally write SQL queries which take considerable amount of time- around half an hour. During this time, I ran an update on the table and committed it. Will the result set contain the old values ?
As per my knowledge, both should fetch the old values.
But, I would like to get my beliefs reinforced.
    Thanks for your help.

    Thanks John..
Your post drives me to ask another question. We've been getting the error "Snapshot Too Old" quite frequently.
So, we minimized the SQL and used cursor committing every 10000 records. This prevented the above error.
Is there any other possible reason why we get the error "Snapshot too Old"?
    Thanks,
    DonDon:
Typically, commiting more frequently increases the likelyhood of 1555, not decreases it. The 1555 error comes when the undo (or rollback in old terms) records that need to be read to support read consistency are no longer available. Simplistically, once a change has been committed, the undo records are marked as available for re-use and could be re-used thereby destroying the information that you need.
Even though ithe initial question is really old, read the Ask Tom thread posted by RPuttagunta. Tom explains it far better than I could, and the basic concepts have not changed.

  • Question regarding PowerShell script to Uninstall security updates in Windows 7/8

    Hello Everyone,
I came across a great link on the Scriptcenter
https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/scriptcenter/Uninstall-security-update-76f2dcb7  which has a PowerShell download that enables you to remove Microsoft updates from computers.  When I download the zip files ->extract it,  I have a
file called " UninstallHotFix.psm1 ".   So far so good.  But where I am totally lost is in the directions to use this file.
    Specifically:
    Method 1:
Download the script and open the script file together with Notepad or any other script editor.
Scroll down to the end of the script file, and then add the example command which you want to run.
Save the file then run the script in PowerShell
I assume (1) refers to right clicking on "UninstallHotFix.psm1" and opening it with notepad?
If I want to run the following...    Uninstall-OSCHotfix -HotFixID KB2830290   do I just paste it at the end of notepad?
Do I save the file and attempt to run in powershell as a .psm1 file - or as a .ps1  file?
    Lost in Space....
    Adrian

    Hi Adrian,
If the above doesn't help, I recommend posting questions about this item on the QandA tab of the script module:
    https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/scriptcenter/Uninstall-security-update-76f2dcb7/view/Discussions#content
I'd recommend following the steps in Method 2 on the gallery item. As an overview:
    1. Save the zip file into C:\Temp
    2. Extract the zip to C:\Temp\UninstallHotFix(PowerShell)
    3. Open a PS console and type the following:
    Import-Module 'C:\Temp\UninstallHotFix(PowerShell)\UninstallHotFix(PowerShell)\UninstallHotFix.psm1'
You can verify that the module has been loaded by running Get-Module:
    PS C:\> Get-Module
    ModuleType Version Name ExportedCommands
    Manifest 3.1.0.0 Microsoft.PowerShell.Management {Add-Computer, Add-Content, Checkpoint
    Script 0.0 UninstallHotFix {Uninstall-OSCHotfix, UninstallHotFix}

  • Summary Report question regarding data that is included and data that is not.

I have a survey that is running at the momemt with about 15% of the expected responses(250-300) which I'll gather over the next couple of weeks. When I check the current Summary Report it omits several of the questions and answers shown in the current Analyze table. Is this to be expected? I really like the Summary Report and want my co-chairs to be able to enter when they have time to glance at the current results via the Summary Report tab.

Sorry that you're having trouble Carol. In the Summary Report tab, are you able to add report tiles for fields without tiles by using the Insert menu?

  • He I have a very basic question regarding reporting of invoice lines and related receiver lines

The documentation shows that receiver transaction id and receiver shipment header and line id should be joined to the same columns  in AP invoice lines but these columns are not populated. What is the join for Payables and Purchasing 12.0 and beyond. We are on 12.2.4.
    Please advise.

Yes, he does not want redirects because it is POF. Also, redirects don't stay in address bar (at the one I created) - once the screen loads you see the same long URL in address bar. He says I should be able to create another public name for the website (made of forms and reports). Maybe I should go with MOD_REWRITE module? I am reading about it now and they say it's more like renaming then redirecting and I think that's more like what my boss is looking for. Key question: if I use MOD_REWRITE to redirect, would the original (long) URL string be displayed once the first screen loads? I am trying to avoid that. I need users to type http://virtualserver/welcome and to STAY that way in address bar.
    Thanks.

  • A question regarding memory clock on GTX 580 Twin Frozr II OC

Hi, I just installed the video card and Afterburner shows the memory clock to be 2048 mhz. The specifications list memory clock at 4276 mhz, why is the card underclocked according to Afterburner? Also, the memory clock slider only goes up to 2665 mhz. What's going on?

You have to double those numbers to get the effective clock.
i.e. 2665 X 2 = 5330 if you were to try and use that, which I would advise against.

  • I have a question regarding memory...

    Hello fellow Apple Users,
I am currently experiencing a few technical glitches which I beleive may be related to an error I am having with my computer memory. Recently I have pushed my memory nears its maximum. To solve my problem I not only deleted files and movies not being used, but I also moved my iPhoto to an external drive and then deleted it from my computer. (In case you are wondering I have, of course, restarted my computer and cleared my trash). My memory still seems to be full, but I am not sure why. Twice this last week my screen has gone completely black, showing nothing but my mouse and giving a panic attack. The only temporary fix has been to shut down my computer for a short time before turning it back on.
Below are two screen shots from my activity monitor:
I like to think of myself as competent, but by no means am I a computer expert. If I understand correctly it is the disk usuage which more accurately  reflects if my memory is still full. As you can see both screens indicate that I have missed something.
The next step I took to remedy my problem was by running software (Whatsize) to screen my files and show their size. This does include hidden files. Below is a screenshot of what I found.
Bottom line like many others out there, I am simpy at a loss over what is probably (hopefully) a very simple problem. If anyone has any ideas of why my memory still appears full, or if anyone feels I have incorrectly self-diagnosised the problem please share.
Thank you in advance for your time and assistance!! ^~^

Well this is embarrassing, in addition to my outlandish grammatical errors I did not properly upload my screenshots. Nevertheless here they are in the same respective order.

  • Help!  Urgent question regarding a client's iPhone and my Mac

I have an office support business, and I use a Max OS X.
One of my clients has an iphone, and he wanted me to download his address book from his iphone onto my Mac so I could then edit his address book.
This morning, I plugged my client's iphone into my laptop to download his address book onto my computer.
The system said it had to download a new version iTunes (took over an hour).
After the download, I received a window message on my computer: *"iTunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode. You must restore this phone before it can be used with iTunes.*
I don't want to use the phone in conjunction with iTunes. However, the only option I have is to restore. No "cancel" nor any other option.
    *_My questions_:*
    (1) By "restoring" my client's phone, am I going to wipe out his address book on it and everything else that he has put on his iphone?
    (2) IS there a way for me to download his address book onto my computer so I can then edit his entries for him. And if so, how?
    Thank you for your time.

    You're welcome.
I believe (with about a 99% certainty) that my client originally downloaded his contacts from his Mac Airbook onto his iphone. However (and again, with that same certainty), I don't think he used "address book" - I think he purchased and used a different "contacts" software program (although, at the moment, I don't remember the name of it).
The only other application on a Mac that is supported for syncing contact info with an iPhone is Entourage 2004 or 2008 - part of Microsoft Office 2004 or 2008 for the Mac), which is synced with the Address Book.
    1) You mentioned "after the firmware is re-installed" . . . is this something that is done automatically during the restore?
When restoring an iPhone with iTunes, the iPhone is completely erased first. This is followed by the current firmware version being re-installed. After the firmware is re-installed, you are prompted to restore the iPhone from the iPhone's most recent backup - which is created and maintained by iTunes during the sync process. The iPhone's backup is updated if needed when syncing the iPhone with iTunes - if any of the data included with the iPhone's backup has changed since the last sync, which is usually 100% of the time when syncing. The other option available is restoring the iPhone as a new iPhone or not from the iPhone's backup. This must be followed by a sync with iTunes to re-transfer all iTunes content, and any photos transferred from your computer to your iPhone.
You don't have a backup on your Mac for your client's iPhone, and you don't have your client's iTunes library available, nor any photos transferred from your client's computer to the iPhone.
Currently, on his iphone, the screen shows an iTunes icon on top, and on bottom, it shows a USB port icon . . . and in between the two is an up arrow (from the USB port icon, up to the iTunes icon). I am not able to get anything else to appear on the iphone's screen.
Because something was seriously wrong with this iPhone for this iPhone to go into recovery mode. When in recovery mode, the only thing you can do is restore the iPhone with iTunes.
    (2) Will that ^^^ be corrected during the restore? And if so, will he have access to his iphone as it was before he gave it to me?
Restoring the iPhone with iTunes should fix the problem since the iPhone will be completely erased followed by the current firmware version being re-installed, but you don't have a backup for this iPhone to restore the iPhone from the backup, so this iPhone will be restored as a new iPhone only if your restore the iPhone with iTunes on your computer.
You need to restore the iPhone with your client's computer.
    (3) Does this mean, that if I do what I have quoted, then no data will be lost?
Depending on how often your client syncs the iPhone with iTunes on his/her computer. If a number of contacts were manually added to this iPhone by your client since syncing the iPhone with iTunes on his/her computer, these contacts will be lost when restoring the iPhone with iTunes from the iPhone's backup, and if the iPhone has not been synced with a supported application on your client's computer since any contacts were manually added to the iPhone, the newly added contacts on the iPhone will not be available with the supported application on your client's computer either.
    4) Also, how do I perform a sync?
After the iPhone is restored with iTunes on your client's computer from the iPhone's backup, you select Sync at the bottom right of the iTunes window with the iPhone selected in the iTunes source list.
Check this link - under the Getting Started section - setting up syncing.

  • Question regarding using Lightroom Web Module and Zenfolio

I use LR3 and like the galleries I can make in the Web Module.  If I use Zenfolio as a web hosting service, can I upload or export my photos from LR to Zenfolio and use the galleries I create in the Lightroom Web Module,,,or do I need to use the existing gallery templates in Zenfolio?  If that is the case, other than using Lightroom to upload photos, is it's Web Gallery Module superflous?
    Thanks,
    Matthew Kraus

    Matthew,
If you are asking if you need to use LR's Web Module to export images to Zenfolio, then no you would not use the LR Web Module but rather use a plug-in to export directly to Zenfolio.  Or you can just export to your local HDD and use Zenfolio's upload module to grab the files from your local drive.
Jeffery Friedl has a nice LR plug-in for SmugMug so I am sure his Zenfolio plug-in will work nicely as well:
    http://regex.info/blog/lightroom-goodies/zenfolio
It's free, sort of, after the trial period, like 45-days as I recall, there is a limit on the number of files which can be uploaded.  When the trial expires if ya like it you just donate any amount and get to upload any number of files as Zenfolio allows in a session.
Does that help answer your question?

All of my components run through a Yamaha receiver and then from the receiver directly to a Sharp Aquos tv.  Does the apple tv also need to run through the receiver, or can it be connected using an HDMI directly into the tv.  And if so, how do I get audio?

Hello W. Churchill, can you help me?
I my case my receiver does not have an HDMI connection, so I did what you said: HDMI connection from the Apple TV (3rd gen) goes directly to the TV and the receiver connected to the Apple TV via an optical audio cable. BUT, there is no sound 5.1 from my speakers! I´m sure it works perfectly because I did de same connection (por and cable) with a DVD Player...
