Question regarding video conversion

Recently purchased Kigo Video Converter - iMovie 09 is newly installed on my machine as the hard drive crashed 10 days ago and used to work with iMovie 08 - when downloading an .flv file from YouTube and converting it to MP4 so as to edit footage, iMovie is not importing the file or rather, it's not coming up in the project so that I can edit it... if it is there I am unable to locate it... Any and all help would be greatly appreciated; it is a codec issue or do I need to update something? Register iMovie perhaps... again any help is appreciated with this as I do a lot of editing for Nightclubs and Bars and occasionally have to pull footage off of YouTube... thanks for the hand

If there's no editing to be done, you can save yourself a lot of time and not tie up your Mac by purchasing a standalsone DVD recorder. I got one just for that purpose and it has really paid off.
If you are editing the footage, how best to export will depend on which program you're going to use for the DVD authoring (not just for burning).

  • Questions regarding currency conversion using SPRUNCONVERSION.

    Hi all,
I have implemented currency conversion using SPRUNCONVERSION stored procedure. I have following questions regarding how does it work.
    1. Is it mandatory to create FxTrans Business Rules with SPRUNCONVERSION?
    2. How does it work internally? How does it look up rate from the rate application?
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Any reference to any documents will help.
    Thanks&Regards,
    Diksha.
(PS: How to document does not explain about how it works).

    Hi Diksha,
    1. Yes since it will base it's translation rules based on what is defined on the currency conversion business rules.
    2. The stored procedure SPRUNCONVERSION scans all records found in the selected region of data and translates them according to the RATETYPE property assigned to the ACCOUNT specified in each record, based on the following mechanism:
    Note:
All ACCOUNTS with no RATETYPE (ratetype = blank) will be translated with a factor of 1
All ACCOUNTS with the reserved RATETYPE = NOTRANS will not be translated
All other ACCOUNTS will be translated according to the definitions contained in the table of parameters called clcFXTRANS.
How the RATE table is selected
While most customers require a single table of rates, there are situations when more than one set of rates is required. In this situation, the translation procedure uses the RateEntity dimension to select the correct table of rates to use.
Whenever a destination currency is selected, the procedure searches for a RateEntity member flagged with this currency in the Currency property. For example, if translating into USD, the system uses the RateEntity member that has the Currency property set to USD.
If there is no RateEntity flagged as the destination currency, the system will use the RateEntity with Currency = 'u2019 (blank).
In addition to this, some exceptions by ENTITY can be applied. For example, some entities just entering in the consolidation perimeter may need to be converted at their own specific set of rates. These entities may have a corresponding RateEntity member in the RATE cube. All ENTITIES having a corresponding RateEntity member in the RATE cube will use that member as rate table. For example, if there is a RateEntity member named like the ENTITY USOps, the RateEntity member USOps will be used to translate the values of entity ENTITY USOps.
The RateEntity member, when representing an ENTITY, may be any of the following:
A valid base level or parent member ID from the ENTITY dimension of the main cube
A list of members of the ENTITY dimension, as defined filtering the members using a value of the DIMLIST property (or any property whose name begins with "DIMLISTu201D) of such dimension.
For more info, you could refer to the Administration Help found on the Admin console.
    Hope this helps,

  • Technical question regarding Video Preview options in Seq Settings

I am trying to wrap my head around some of the unique differences between FCP7 and PrP 5.5. What is the function of the Video Preview choices in the Sequence Setting menu? It seems standardized to I Frame Only MPEG with  other options depending on what your source footage is. Why would I use this setting as opposed to 1080 (for an AJA sequence made from Prores footage) or P2 (for an Adobe seq built from the same Prores footage) or Red which gives you no options then the one I just mentioned?
In FCP when things were rendered they were used when I would export the sequence. Is PrP 5.5 the same? If I am previewing a 1080 sequence in I Frame Only MPEG, does that mean on output the whole entire sequence and effects need rendering? What is the best work flow when using Adobe or AJA sequences in regard to this Video Preview setting? It is so different from what I am used to I want to make informed choices.

Maximum Bit Depth is only suitable when ingesting 4:2:2 material and exporting with AJA or BM
Oh, man... not again. This is not true, at all. Maximum Bit Depth has nothing to do with 4:2:2 AJA or BlackMagic. And Maximum Bit Depth is not just for use with 10-bit or  greater source footage. It can be used with 8-bit material--DV, H.264,  MPEG2, anything--to great benefit.
(The following is copied and pasted since I've written it so many times...)
What Maximum Bit Depth  (either in the Sequence Settings or in the Export Settings) does is  enable Premiere Pro to render and composite in 32-bit floating point  color. It has nothing (or at least, little) to do with the source  footage, but controls how effects and transformations that shift pixels  around are rendered. Any effect in the Effects panel that has a 32-bit  badge on it will benefit from Maximum Bit Depth--the expense is greater  memory requirements and processing time, but the payoff is a higher  degree of color fidelity and precision in the rendered image. Gaussian  Blur, for example, is a 32-bit effect that will show a great difference  between when it is rendered with MBD on versus when it is off--even if  you're rendering/exporting to an 8-bit format, like DV.
From Karl Soule's article on this topic, The Video Road – Understanding Color Processing: 8-bit, 10-bit, 32-bit, and more:
A DV file with a blur and a color corrector exported to DV without the max bit depth flag. We  will import the 8-bit DV file, apply the blur to get an 8-bit frame,  apply the color corrector to the 8-bit frame to get another 8-bit frame,  then write DV at 8-bit.
A DV file with a blur and a color corrector exported to DV with the max bit depth flag. We  will import the 8-bit DV file, apply the blur to get an 32-bit frame,  apply the color corrector to the 32-bit frame to get another 32-bit  frame, then write DV at 8-bit. The color corrector working on the 32-bit  blurred frame will be higher quality then the previous example.
A DV file with a blur and a color corrector exported to DPX with the max bit depth flag. We  will import the 8-bit DV file, apply the blur to get an 32-bit frame,  apply the color corrector to the 32-bit frame to get another 32-bit  frame, then write DPX at 10-bit. This will be still higher quality  because the final output format supports greater precision.
A DPX file with a blur and a color corrector exported to DPX without the max bit depth flag. We will clamp 10-bit DPX file to 8-bits, apply the blur to get an 8-bit  frame, apply the color corrector to the 8-bit frame to get another  8-bit frame, then write 10-bit DPX from 8-bit data.
A DPX file with a blur and a color corrector exported to DPX with the max bit depth flag. We will import the 10-bit DPX file, apply the blur to get an 32-bit  frame, apply the color corrector to the 32-bit frame to get another  32-bit frame, then write DPX at 10-bit. This will retain full precision through the whole pipeline.
A title with a gradient and a blur on a 8-bit monitor. This will display in 8-bit, may show banding.
A title with a gradient and a blur on a 10-bit monitor (with hardware acceleration enabled.) This will render the blur in  32-bit, then display at 10-bit. The gradient should be smooth.
What Maximum Bit Depth does is allow  Premiere Pro's rendering engine to have more room to run, with a higher  degree of precision. It's important to remember that rendering  internally is different than exporting--and even when you're "rendering"  previews, you're actually exporting, because you're creating composited  video files of one sort or another. That's why there is a Maximum Bit  Depth checkbox in the Sequence Settings--that affects preview files, not  exports. When you're using hardware MPE, you're always operating in  MBD--or more specifically, you're rendering in 32-bit linear color.  Generally, this is "better," though I've lamented about the negative  effects of linear color processing, e.g. annoying opacity differences on  dissolves, shaggy alpha channels, etc.
The bottom line is  that Maximum Bit Depth allows Premiere Pro to generate better  (subjective), more technically accurate (objective) output, regardless  of the input and output format.

  • A few questions regarding iPhoto conversion to light room

Some background. I use Yosemite, LR 5.7, and iPhoto '11. The iPhoto app has been used for organization only. All edits have been done in PS. No smart albums. The file system is simple using only albums, folders, and sub folders. The library contains JPEG, raw, tiff, and psd files. There are about 12k images. My questions:
    1. Does it make any sense, or is it even possible, to migrate the library to LR one album at a time or is it still smarter to move it all at once?
    2. Have the major issues with the importer now part of 5.7 been resolved since it was released last year as a stand-alone plug-in?
    3. Is it now possible to move the psd and tiff files now? I read that originally they would not move. If not, is there a good work around such as moving them through bridge then through to LR?
    4. I read somewhere that apple's upcoming photo app will make the import method to LR easier. Can this be true. I would guess it would be harder.
Thanks.. I appreciate all this community provides us.

Lightroom 6 is due very soon. It may be worth waiting to see if it includes an improved interface or plugin for iPhoto and Aperture.

  • Video Conversion Questions

Am having a couple of problems with video conversion for the Apple TV.
I had to reset and install OSX a few months back, now when I use FFMPEGX to convert some AVI files to H264 it is writing the audio and video as seperate files, cant understand why its suddenly doing this as worked fine before, anyone got any ideas?
Secondly, If I try to use Quicktime, Flip4mac writes that it was done with a trial version all over the video output, but I have the Pro Version of Quicktime so can't understand why it uses flip4mac at all, isnt Quicktime supposed to do this by itself, and is there a way round this, short of buying flip4mac?

when I use FFMPEGX to convert some AVI files to H264 it is writing the audio and video as seperate files
Sounds like FFMPEG is doing this. Check the source codecs and/or your default/manual settings. Some conversions may require an intermediate conversion in which the audio and video are first "demuxed" and placed in separate files which are them converted to the final compression formats and then merged to a single file.
While QT recognizes the AVI file container (i.e., AVI is not a compression format), you must have the same codecs to make the file (many combinations are possible) playable and/or convertible to a fully supported QT compression format. QT does not supply proprietary interleaved codecs and you must install your own. DivX, Flip4Mac, Perian, etc. all have codecs that play different codecs that may be contained in the AVI container. As long as there are no conflicts, then everything works fine. In some cases, however, two or more components may be able to play/convert the same codec. In this event, QT seems to call the handler which was last installed. If this is the case, then you may be able to remove/re-install codecs in a different order which satisfies your needs. In other cases, the codec in question may only be supplied one of the third-party providers and you have no choice but to use their product. Some of the providers allow you to play the codecs in question but require you to purchase conversion decoders and/or decoders separately. (E.g., DivX and Flip4Mac.) Whether or not you purchase these products depends on how badly you want to convert the file in question.

  • Questions regarding creation of vendor in different purchase organisation

    Hi abap gurus .
i have few questions regarding data transfers .
    1) while creating vendor , vendor is specific to company code and vendor can be present in different purchasing organisations within the same company code if the purchasing organisation is present at plant level .my client has vendor in different purchasing org. how the handle the above situatuion .
    2) i had few error records while uploading MM01 , how to download error records , i was using lsmw with predefined programmes .
    3) For few applications there are no predefined programmes , no i will have to chose either predefined BAPI or IDOCS . which is better to go with . i found that BAPI and IDOCS have same predefined structures , so what is the difference between both of them  .

    Hi,
    1. Create a BDC program with Pur orgn as a Parameter on the selection screen
so run the same BDC program for different Put organisations so that the vendors
are created in different Pur orgns.
    2. Check the Action Log in LSMW and see
    3.see the doc
BAPI - BAPIs (Business Application Programming Interfaces) are the standard SAP interfaces. They play an important role in the technical integration and in the exchange of business data between SAP components, and between SAP and non-SAP components. BAPIs enable you to integrate these components and are therefore an important part of developing integration scenarios where multiple components are connected to each other, either on a local network or on the Internet.
BAPIs allow integration at the business level, not the technical level. This provides for greater stability of the linkage and independence from the underlying communication technology.
LSMW- No ABAP effort are required for the SAP data migration. However, effort are required to map the data into the structure according to the pre-determined format as specified by the pre-written ABAP upload program of the LSMW.
The Legacy System Migration Workbench (LSMW) is a tool recommended by SAP that you can use to transfer data once only or periodically from legacy systems into an R/3 System.
More and more medium-sized firms are implementing SAP solutions, and many of them have their legacy data in desktop programs. In this case, the data is exported in a format that can be read by PC spreadsheet systems. As a result, the data transfer is mere child's play: Simply enter the field names in the first line of the table, and the LSM Workbench's import routine automatically generates the input file for your conversion program.
The LSM Workbench lets you check the data for migration against the current settings of your customizing. The check is performed after the data migration, but before the update in your database.
So although it was designed for uploading of legacy data it is not restricted to this use.
We use it for mass changes, i.e. uploading new/replacement data and it is great, but there are limits on its functionality, depending on the complexity of the transaction you are trying to replicate.
The SAP transaction code is 'LSMW' for SAP version 4.6x.
Check your procedure using this Links.

  • Video Conversations with PC

I found similar questions, but I still am not clear on this topic. How can an iMac have a video conversation with people using PC's?? (Without having to pay for AOL on their side {AIM}, or having to sign up with AOL or Javver on my side).
    iMac & MacBook Mac OS X (10.4.9)
    iMac & MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    Hi,
AIM is actually free to use for both Mac and Windows PC.
(There's no need to sign up for the AOL service). You can register for an AIM screen name on this page. Once you have registered, ignore it when it asks you do download the AIM client. Instead, configure iChat with your new screen name.
As an alernative to iChat, you could use Skype, which is a free download for Mac and PC.
Both programs have their ins and outs. I would suggest trying both to see which one works best. I hope this helps!
    Thanks,

  • Problem in DAM video conversion

    Hi,
I am using Webcenter Content 11.1.1.8.0 and I configured IBR for video conversion.
When I uploadmp4 video file, I am getting below error,
Content item 'Content000242' was not successfully checked in. Unable to set the default rendition set for DAM conversion
I have seen the below instructions in documentation that I need to update config file.
    1. Open the following directory of your Content Server instance:
    <IntradocDir>/config/
    2. Open the config.cfg file in a standard text editor.
    3. Under the #Additional Variables section, add DefaultVideoConversionSet and set
it equal to the factory you want as the default rendition set. The default must
match a rendition set in the choice list of the VideoConversions metadata field,
defined using the Configuration Manager applet.
    4. Save changes to the config.cfg file and close the file.
    5. Restart Content Server

  • Question on PO conversion

    Hi,
I have a question on PO conversions. What is best way to convert Open Blanket purchase agreements which have some releases.
    For example
    Blanket agreement of $1000
    R1,R2,R3 combined $300
    Amount remaining on BPA $700
At this point if we start our conversion process what is the standard way to bring this BPA?
    Please advice.
    -Thanks,
    Satya

    Hi,
One of the option for you would be to use Purchase Order Import Open Interface to create Blanket first for 1000, and then open releases that would refer to the newly created blanket.
But there are many limitations to the open Interface program which you might have to consider and also. You will get the details of the limitations in the Purchasing user guide for your version of applications.
Also there would be a range of possible scenarios you would have to test (like all open releases, some closed releases etc.) and check whether this approach is applicable to all of them or not.
    Hope this helps.

  • Video conversion software recommendations. MOV to MPG, WMV

Can someone please recommend an inexpensive video conversion software package? I'm trying to convert a QTMOV to MPG or WMV for Windows users without QT installed. Any help appreciated. I'm a recent Windows convert.

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Quicktime Pro ($30us) is an excellent value video tool which can handle editing, layers, transparency etc etc. It can export to a variety of formats (although not WMV for obvious reasons). I'd be tempted to wait a couple of months though as QT8 will probably be around soon and will require a new key to be bought.
Also check out these applications on MacUpdate.
