Question regd. IS-RETAIL in SAP SD
Hi All,
I need an urgent clarification.
If a company in Retail industry implements SAP, is it mandatory that they will be using IS-RETAIL only for SAP SD. Or can they use the normal SAP SD inspite of being in the retail industry (for eg. a company like Sears, JCPenney etc.). Can anyone please explain?
How different is IS-RETAIL (for SD module) from the normal SD module?. Does anyone have good documentation on IS-RETAIL?.
Thanks,
KSS

what kind of questions can be asked in sap sd tecnical round?
Hi chandu,
there is not hard and fast rule to ask a question. It all depends on your resume and your experience. Stress will be more on your skills that you have mentioned in your profile. Better concentrate on that and brush yourself on the master data.

Question in HR module in SAP Queries ( transport changes)
Question in HR module in SAP Queries.
One infoset is attached to multiple queries.
If there are some changes in infoset, these changes are done in Development box and saved to the transport request. (queries related to infoset are not attached to the transport request).
These changes have to be moved to the Quality box and further to the Production.
1. When I move the infoset to Quality and production, do the related queries get affected? Will they work?
Or do we need to attach all the queries related to the infoset in development. ?
2. What would be the status of the queries that are not attached ?
3. When the changes to infoset is moved to different boxes, is the original infoset OVERWRITTEN or CHANGES APPENDED.

6) What are the automated testing tools used in sap testing?
7) How is volume testing done in sap?... any tool required?..
8) I have come across few things on the internet like Test Workbench, ECATT and CATT... what are these tools used for in sap testing...and is it mandatory to use these tools in sap testing for those particular tests or what is the alternative?.
Thanks.
KSS.Hi,
You can check the following link and you will get lot of your queries solved.
http://www.sap-img.com/general/role-of-sap-consultant-in-testing.htm
Following are the high level roles of testing consultants -
Prepare Test Scripts
Validate Existing Test Scripts
Understand the process for which a test script is created
Create test data basing on the test script specifications
Document the test results
Highlight the failure of the test scripts to the concerned module leads (FI, MM, SD,.........)
If any interfaces are connected to SAP, check with the interface owners if the data sent from SAP is received in the correct format.
Secure sign off the test script results from the client
Understanding the business scenarios
Organization Structure to incorporate the tune of the script.
Preparation of test scripts
Execute and record results to see if it is fine before going to approval.
Make changes to your test script if required.
One example:
What is Test Script (Scenario Testing)
Header Data
Step in Process
Transaction Code / Program (FB60)
Menu Path
Description
Field Data and actions to complete
Expected Results

F.19 Clearing GR/IR Account
F.13 Adjustments GR/IR Account
Using of these above two accounts will help us in clearing the balances and adjustments to those respective clearing accounts so that the GR/IR account will be zero balance and the balances will appear in respective reconciliation accounts accordingly the balances will be carried forwarded to next fiscal year.
GR/IR Clears the following Documents
GL Document
Customer Documents
Vendor Documents
Assignment Field is important in any document (ZUONR), Amount (DMBTR)
Foreign Currency Valuation
Lowest Value Method, If we are in loss then only we will account for it.
GL Accounts which are important in Testing

In Partial Clearing you can see 100 and 70 are cleared line items and 30 as balance and if it is in Residual you can only 30 as balance as it creates new line item and you canu2019t see the other cleared line items.
As no company will use residual clearing as it affects on ageing reports.
Open Items in Foreign Currency in all Modules GL/AP/AR - F.05
Master Data
Company Code

Only Balances in local currencies
Reconciliation Account Type
Year End Scripts
Re Grouping Receivables / Payables - (F101)
Bad Debts Provisions u2013 Scripts
We assume that the customer has not paid at the end of the year you doubt whether this receivable will ever be paid. So you make a transfer posting for the receivables to an account for individual value adjustments using special GL Indicator E and Transaction Code F-21
Carry forward Balances
Sub Ledgers and General Ledger balances to be forwarded to next Fiscal Year
Accounts Payables

Incoming Payments
Manual Clearing
Advance (Down Payment)
Post with Clearing
Post without Clearing
Reset Clearing

Regrouping
Foreign Currency Valuations
Other than that, it is important to know the following:
Unit Testing
When you test every single document is called unit testing.
String Testing
One transaction full activity is called string testing . For example Vendor invoice, goods received and vendor payment.
Integration Testing
It is purely with other modules and we have to check whether the FI testing is working with other related modules or not.
Regression Testing
Testing for whole database. Bring all the data into another server and do the testing is called regression.
UAT
When we test any particular document with the user and if it is ok immediately we have to take the signature on the document, which is signed off and can be forwarded to the immediate boss. There are some steps to be followed when we go for user acceptance testing.
Transaction u2013 Script Writing u2013 Expected Results u2013 Compare with Actual Results
TPR (Transaction Problem Reporting)
While doing the user acceptance testing if we get any problems then there are some methodologies to be followed according to the companyu2019s policy and normally as a tester we always need to write on Test Script itself.
Hope this helps you.

Question about - doing quotation of SAP material
Hello,
I am interested in keeping up our rules, and I want to show with my behavior a good example to others.
So my question is:
Am I allowed to post a screenshot of a pichture from SAP training material.
I will wirte down the correct quotation.
Example: Discussion about cost elements, giving explanation and refer to SAP material.
Picture with quotation
SAP AC 410 Cost Center Accounting, year 2006, page 3-15
thank you for your answer
all the best ErwinYou actually just posted the screenshot
The The SCN Rules of Engagement
actually say: Please do not copy others work without first gaining written permission from the originator. This includes SAP help files and training materials.
I have no problem with a single screenshot with a clear quote as shown above, but we always have to see it in context, this should not be seen as a clean bill of health.

Newb Question here! What is SAP?
Is SAP a set of development Tools? like Oracle APEX or GT although not limited to the oracle Database technologies ?
I have been looking about and find it very difficult to find a section for people wanting to find out about what SAP is.
Many thanks
DavidWelcome David. You've just had the benefit of getting a very good answer to an exceedingly broad and difficult question from one of the most ardent and active members of our community, Blag, so you are in good hands although you probably wouldn't know that if you are totally new here.
On the website http://www.sap.com you would find an introduction to SAP the company, its history, and its products. There you can read the more explanatory and historical and company side of "what is SAP" found, for example: [here|http://www.sap.com/about/company/history.epx].
But to distinguish that flavor of "What is SAP", from what you might expect here is perhaps less simple to point you to. You have come to the website of the SAP Community Network, (the SAP Developer Network(SDN) and Business Process Expert Community(BPX)), which represents the community side of SAP, its customers, users, developers, partners, business process professionals, employee contributors. It's a social and learning framework. That's the people side of the equation. People using tools and products and sharing knowledge about these inter-enterprise business solutions. And in the coffee corner, which is this forum you have posted to just now, you will also find folks sometimes just chatting about the state of the industry or the quality of the conversation. To understand what that means, you are invited to stick around, visit forums, search for content, listen, ask. Welcome David to SDN and BPX. -
Question : Different planning strategies in SAP PP
Hi PP gurus ,
Help me in understanding purpose with suitable example different planning strategies say Strategy 10 , 11 , 20 , 30 , 26 , 40 and 50 . Find below an
example for which how the above said strategies will act wrt .
Ex : You have Unrestricted stock of say X = 100 pcs and stock in quality
inspection is X = 10 pcs .
You have PIR ( X ) = 100 pcs , Production order( X ) = 50 pcs ,
Sales order( X ) = 150 pcs , Production order against sales order (X) =150
pcs , Inprocess (X) = 30 Units , sales order stock (X) = 25 units .
Thanx in advance
Regards,
RajRaj,
Have you gone through the help doc for planning strategies:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/cb/7f9b7043b711d189410000e829fbbd/frameset.htm
In overall terms:
In make to stock - 10, 11, 40
In MTS the general stock and general prod orders in warehouse are considered incalculating the net requirement. The diff between 10 and 11 is that in 11 irrespective of Warehouse stock prod takes place as per Planned Ind requirements. But in 10 the warehouse stock is considered.
In MTO (20/ 50):
The sales order stock and prod order w.r.to sales order aone is considered.
Hope this will give you an overall idea.

Quick question on BOE deployment for SAP BW with 3 system landscape
Client has SAP BW environment with 3 system landscape: Dev, QA, Production
Should BOE be installed seperately on 3 different machines for each of them?
Or is there any best practice for this?
Thanks,
HenryHello Henry,
yes - i would recommend this Setup. Technically there is no need for it but on an organisational/development/deployment level it makes more sence.
I often saw it at customers that Dev and Q&A is on virtual machines and Prod is on a physically machines. Saves some Hardware costs.

Question about table logs in SAP
Hello,
What table's do the transaction codes ST03 and STAD retrieve log history files from?
Are these tables automatically logged by SAP, such as table CHDHR, or does table logging specifically have to be turned on for these table's?
Help is greatly appreciated on this. Thanks in advance,
AdamoST03 tables I believe are SAP Workload Tables. You can search SE16 for:

Question about Crystal Reports and SAP 2007
Good day experts,
I am in the process of creating a Cross Tab report in Crystal Reports, When I get to the screen Cross Tab Report Creation Wizard, any UDFs contained within the source Stored Procedure are not available for selection.
I have tried adding other UDFs to the Stored Procedure and they are also not available.
Is this correct? To me a UDF is just another field in the SAP table.
Thanks
OBHi OB........
The UDFs you created and taken into the Query you have to cast it into nvarchar. And then only it will show it in your crystal......
Try this Cast(U_UDF as nvarchar) put your UDF code in place of UDF........
Hope this will help you......

Question on Job Scheduling in SAP
Hi Experts,
I want to schedule a job to run every half hour from 7 am to 5 pm on Mondays to Fridays. That is, the job should not run on Saturday or Sunday, or after 5 pm on the weekends. Any information on how I can do this will be greatly appreciated!Deborah,
Solution 1:
Does your company use an external job scheduling software such as Control-M, AutoSys, or Maestro? If so, have them schedule the job for you. They have much more flexibility than what SAP's job scheduling allows.
Solution 2:
This is a laborious process, but can be implemented without doing any additional development. You have to create 22 separate jobs. Each job will run at a specific time on every working day according to your factory calendar. First one will run only at 7 AM, second one at 7:30 AM, and so on.
Solution 3:
Develop a wrapper ABAP program as suggested by others. -
Question on form printing in SAP scripts
Hi,
I would like to know whether it is possible to print color logos in forms using sap scripts or not ?
If possible, please provide the steps for uploading a color logo into the form using a sap script.
Is the color of the logo displayed only in the printout or can it seen in the print preview as well after uploading the logo?
If anybody has good material on sap scripts, pls mail the same to my email id - [email protected] .
Thanks & Regards,
VijayHi,
First you have to import the logo into SAP through TCode SE78 (if it is a BMP file) and using program RSTXLDMC (if it is of TIFF file).
Go to SE78 -> Double click Graphics -> double click BMAP -> then go to Menu Graphic then select Import. Then give the name and description. Then choose whether it should be in colour or black and white. This completes the process of importing the logo into SAPscript.
Then you can use the name of this object in SCRIPTS .IN Sap script, YOu can include text object(if you have uploaded the image using rstxldmc) or include graphic if you have used se78 in text elements section of the Page windows.
