Question to CAD Desktop - Feature Copy and Replace

Hello,
I want two use the feature "copy and replace" in CAD Desktop to copy and replace the document info set with a new one but also change its document info set type.
Is that in general possible, how to customize it?

Questions on Cad Integration- Solid Edge and Solid Works

Hello All,
I had the following questions related to CAD Integration:
1. I have my CAD files saved in working directory. I create DIR for them from CDESK (Cad View - Create Document) and want to rename the files as Document Number_Document Description. How can I achieve the same. Again, I want to do the same from CDESK (CAD VIEW)
2. On Solid Edge CAD integration, I have noticed sometimes when I register the DLL's the 'User/System Preferences from SAP-PLM' on Solid Edge side does not pop up. Can someone tell me what might be the reason and how to fix it. Also if I already registered the DLL's and want to clean them (remove them), so that to try to register DLL's again, where can I go to remove them from Windows registery file
3. In Solis Edge is it necessary to check in and check out the SEC application (representing .cfg ) in SEA document type. I have noticed if I have the .cfg in my working directory and I check in SEA without .cfg and if some other person checks out the SEA, the .cfg gets created for him on the fly in his working directory.

1. please have a look at and implement note 645365 - "CDESK: Attaching Solid Edge .cfg file when creating doc.".
2. If you registered the DLL's once and you want to update them, you only have to copy and replace the old ones with the new ones. You do not have to un-register the old ones.
The problem with the disappearing Menu-Items or symbols can only be solved by restoring the SolidEdge-Registry-Path...
3. You can only checkout the CFG-Files if you use the CAD-Desktop.
You have to add the WSAPPL SEC (*.cfg) to the applications in the CDESK_CUS.
(CHECKIN, CHECKOUT and COPY)

How to copy and replace new Mountain Lion hard drive with old Snow Leopard drive?

So far I have not found an answer to my question, so I am hoping that this is feasible.
A while ago I purchased a used 2010 Macbook Pro running Snow Leopard that did not have the installer disc. A week ago the hardware died on me, so I replaced it with a new 2012 Macbook Pro running Mountain Lion.
The problem is that I purchased a 1 TB aftermarket HD for my old Macbook Pro and want to replace the current smaller hard drive in my new computer with it. I've already run Time Machine and put all of my data in my new computer so I figured that it would be possible to simply copy that disk image back over to my old drive and replace it. However the computer showed that they weren't compatible. When I tried to put my old hard drive in my new computer there was not a bootable OSX available.
Since Mountain Lion already came on my new computer I do not have an installer that I can use.
Is there anyway I can copy the current Mountain Lion information from my new hard drive and basically have a fully functioning, bootable copy on my old hard drive that I can put back into my new computer?

Well, if you put the HDD from the old Mac into an external enclosure you can use a tool like Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper! to clone the Mountain Lion installation onto the 1TB drive. If you go this route, I would suggest you consider using CCC as it does have the option to clone the Repair Partition as well as the boot volume.
Another route you could take would be to put the 1TB drive into the new MBP, and then boot to the Internet Recover . From there you can re-partition the drive and install Mountain Lion clean on the 1TB drive. During the installation process, you will have the option to use the Migration Assistant to migrate your data & apps. You can use your Time Machine backup for that, or if you have the original drive in an enclosure, you can migrate directly from the external drive. I have used this latter method myself a few times.

CAD desktop license username and password

I am trying to generate licencse for CAD -IPCC Enterprize 6.0 using the url given in CAD installation guide.

when the login/password windows pops up it does not accept my CCO ID username/password.
Now I have a doubt if CCO user ID should be used to generate the CAD license.
Could I get some help on this .

Third party utility to allow "copy-and-merge" instead of "copy-and-replace"

I'm looking for a utility that can allow me to copy folders and files over existing ones, and have them merge instead of replacing everything. Where can I find one?

You can use FileMerge:
install the Developer tools from the Leopard DVD,
then go to this folder:
/Developer/Applications/Utilities

Ricoh reader-SDHC for backup-cannot do copy and replace

I have used the Ricoh reader to back up my data partition by drag-and-drop copy to Transcend SDHC card. When I try to use drag-and-drop copy again to copy the updated data partition I get the message that there is not sufficient free space. But when I use this procedure on an external USB HDD I do not have that problem--Windows simply copies over the old file on the external HDD. Why does this not work with SDHC card in the Ricoh reader? Also, with this Class 10 SDHC card the initial backup took ages! Please advise, as I really want to use SDHC in the Ricoh reader as a backup medium.

Aryeh: I have been thinking you are probably right re lack of sufficient free space on the SDHC, such that Windows would "see" enough free room on the target drive already containing 13gb of backup data for all the info to be copied from the source drive using the copy command. I am guessing that the target drive format (NTFS vs FAT32 vs exFAT is not the problem that has prevented me from using the copy command with my 16gb SDHC. So I am going to try to do the backup of 13gb data instead with a 32gb SDHC, which would provide more than enough free space once it is populated with an initial backup comprising about 13gb of data. Will post the outcome here.

Copy and replace sequences

I have a running sequence containing a main loop. Depending on input from user, a given subsequence (in separate file) is called and when it has executed we go back to the main file. From the main loop I have made it possible to run a batch file that copies the whole set of sequence files from a network drive to the local folder.
Problem: The files seem to not always update, meaning when one certain sub file is called it is still unchanged although the network master was edited and saved. All the sequences are set to unload after execution.
Ideas?

Hello!
When programming with the ActiveX API in TestStand you can get object references to the sequence file, sequence, steps, execution and so on that is executing at the moment. By using these references you can close the open sequence file and the re-load them the ordinary way.
One of the methods you can use is: SequenceFile.UnloadModules

Question about Find and Replace PL/SQL option in Forms Builder

I have a small question .
I am using Find and Replace PLSQ/SQL in forms Builder ( Edit - Find and Replace PLSQL) to search any code in a form.
Let say I am searching for EMP .
Then all the places is coming where EMP is used as well as EMPloyee , EMPloyee_Desc tables also coming .
So is there any way to serach only the EMP part .

If you look closely to the right of the "Find What" field, you should see a button - "Expression". This allows you to add some logic to your search. Alternatively, depending on how you code, you could just look for spaces. For example, if you are looking for EMP and not EMPLOYEE, search for EMP with a blank space before and after it (assuming you code this way) or use something like this \bEMP\b This would work for me because I code the same way I write sentences - each work is separated by spaces.

In this example, seaching for EMP with a blank space after would find what I wanted. However, if you only search for a trailing blank, you may end up also finding words like tEMP. This is where have a blank space before each word is helpful.
Other, more valuable expressions could be written to accomplish your task. Refer to the Forms Builder Online help for more information about using Expressions in the Find and Replace search window.

CAD Desktop Queries

Currently we are using CAD desktop alongwith DMS. We need to replace a selected component in the document based structure with a new component. We are trying to use the copy and replace option in the CAD view, but the new component selected is not getting loaded.Could anyone let know what else we need to do to get it going?

- In Customizing for CAD Desktop (CA-CAD) you have set the CDESK_REPLACE_COMPONENT (replace component) parameter.
- You are in the CAD view or the CAD worklist.

Copy and Paste not working properly in MLion

A week or so ago I purchased and installed the upgrade to Mountain Lion OS X. Whenever I try to copy large number of files from one folder to onother in my desktop, the copy and paste process does not.
Copy/Paste of a few files works, different from the previous OS system but works. However, if I copy 3000 files or more then the computer slows down significantly or freezes. The little colorful spinning wheel replaces the cursor arrow and cannot use anything else in the computer. I need to abort the finder (op+com+esc) to stop the process. While copying large number of files the copy status bar never appears to show the copying process. I was used to see the copy status window with information about the number of files, their size, time remaining and the little bar in the middle growing from left to right as the copy process continued. None of this happens with MLion.
I called Apple for service. I spent hrs with their customer service people on the phone who suggested a number of things that we implemented to try to correct the problem. Nothing worked! Finally they asked me to reinstall MLion and so I did. The problem was not fixed. They asked me turn on, off, unplug the computer, etc. and nothing fixed the problem.
In sum I just want my old OS system that used to work fine. MLion is substandard, we do not want our money back we just want the computer to work as it used to so we can return to be productive again. Any suggestion on how to reinstall SLeopard without having to reinstall every single piece of software in the computer? Thanks.

I am actually CUTTING and Pasting (CMD+C, CMD-OPTION-V) and Finder gets stuck either with the keyboard or dragging (Holding CMD to Move the Files)
I was downloading Midi files from a reliable website that I've using for years www.vgmusic.com. I was using Safari, so I downloaded Midi soundfiles from a particular videogame using the ALT key to speed things up. Say I downloaded 120 small (10-100KB ) files. I SHIFT selected them from the Downloads Folder and then I dragged them with CMD to place them in my 500GB (the non-system) partition. It got stuck. File is being used, was the message given.
So I thought it was Safari-related, so I switched to Firefox and downloaded another batch and dragged them to my Midi folder on the 500GB. Same thing. I've restarted and quit all open programs. I thought it was an external drive that was hogging access, so I unplugged all my external HDDs (320GB FAT32, 1GB NTFS, 3GB HFS+).
I also thought that VLC was the culprit so I reinstalled it and erased the preferences. Now it is not running.
Now I have some greyed-out files that are zero-kilobytes in the destination folder.
Let's say I try to move the first one "pkrs_petersburg.mid" and "pokecenter.mid" , this appears,
A message saying "preparing to move to "PokemonRSE" "preparing to move 2 files". Come on, I would expect to see this if the files were large, these are 23KB and 9KB!!
The message is in French and it means "It's not possible to move the file "pokecenter.mid" right now because it is being used by another task, such as the copying or moving of a file or the emptying of the Trash. Try again once the task is finished.
The other message (from a previous attempt) is "It is not possible to place all selected files in the same place: at least one of them, named "pokecenter.mid" is being used."
I already emptied out my Trash!

How do I find and replace recurring images?

I was wondering if I could find and replace recurring thumbnails in a document. I actually want to delete the specific thumbnail in mass.

Then Paste and Match Style option shift command v to remove the graphics.
It is under the Edit menu of most OSX apps.
There are also utilities that remove all styles and other formatting automatically for you when you do a simple copy and replace.

Find and replace a line in a text file

This seems to be a question on optimal implementation of search and replace.
For replacing text in the file itself, the sought text and replaced text must be the same length,
as inserting a character somewhere in a file, is better done in a new file.
You could do this with a java.io.RandomAccessFile[b].
The new IO package [b]java.nio provides a memory mapped file which is faster.

How to copy and paste text in message body?

my question is how I can copy and paste text within a text in an email message (that is shifting phrases and passages around) without using the cumbersome "Edit". If there's a way, does it also work for texts in Pages? Please, let me know. Thanks!

actually I thought about highlighting a word, phrase, or passage, holding it with the mouse, and then shifting it around within the text to the desired place, just as I used to do when I owned a PC. Does this work with Mac as well?
