Question to Swing Pros: Resizing of JFrame only with visible Rectangular ?

Is it somehow possible to use substance or another LooknFeel with custom titelbar and still keeping a hidden JFrame background resizing? So if i resize a JFrame only a rectangular should be visible not the content of the window should dynamically resize.

I've never seen a way to do that in Swing normally.
Of course, if you could run something allowing transparent windows (some newer version of Java will support it, or Skin L&F, etc), I can imagine how you might fake it by using your own decorations, and on resize, create a transparent window with a border that is your resize window, and use that to resize, and then fix the final size to the real window when done.

Premiere Pro CC import problem only with last .VOB file

When I import .VOB files from any DVD into Premiere Pro CC, the last .VOB always cut picture from both sides. When I click to see properties of the file (in Bin panel) it shows me that image size is 540 x 576 instead of 720 x 576. The video isn't shrunken but cut off. I got two black bars on both sides of the screen (in Premiere Pro CC). That wasn't happened with CS6 and now it happens always and only with last .VOB file. All other files from same VIDEO_TS folder are imported correctly. When I convert that last .VOB to .avi or any other format everything is OK. Any suggestions?

Yes it works, but I have no time to convert file every time I need something archived that way. I used that method years ago, and if I'm not wrong we are progressing a little Most of today options you have in Premiere 5 (maybe even in earlier versions; I'm using it from version 5.1) and it worked. So if you think like that, why we need version 7.2.1 ? Actually this is 14.2.1 version if you count from version 1 back in 1991.

Question using mbox2 pro as audio interface

Is the the mbox2 pro firewire compatible with the new macbook pro laptops?...i think their interface is a 400 firewire but the new macbook pros 2009 laptop have only a 800 firewire port..how would i be able to use this box with it??...thank u....i want to also run lp9 using the same box.

Forget the USB versions, they are noisy and the sound quality comming from the analog outputs is questionable... The Pro version will work with recent MBPs (FW800 only). Id choose the I5 yes, depends on what your usage is going to be,
....your question about "128 gig being enough" begs the question for IDEALIZED USE of your macbook AIr
In the case of a Macbook Air with ‘limited’ storage on the SSD, this distinction becomes more important in that in an ever rapidly increasing file-size world, you keep vital large media files, pics, video, PDF collections, music off your SSD and archived on external storage, for sake of the necessary room for your system to have free space to operate, store future applications and general workspace. You should never be put in the position of considering “deleting things” on your macbook SSD in order to ‘make space’.
*Generally, unless you NEED the data at least once every few weeks or once a month,...it really does'nt NEED to be on the SSD of your Macbook Air.
Professionals who create and import very large amounts of data have almost no change in the available space on their computers internal HD because they are constantly archiving data to arrays of external or networked HD.

Sure sounds like malware, unles you installed something from a questionable site, then it's still malware but in a payware form as playing DVDs is free on Mac's.
Unless the DVD has software on it perhaps?
Does this work on any movie DVD or is this a special kind of DVD with software on it from someplace?

How can I resize a JFrame ,to fit into the screen size

I have a Jframe which has JPanel and JPanel contains lot of other components.JPanel size is 980,1400. when i use JFrame.show method jpanel goes beyond the screen size in length and I am not able to see the portion below the screen.How can I resize the JFrame so that JFrame and JPanel shrinks to fit into the screen size.I need this because I have a PRINT button at bottom of the JPanel.Thanks.

Resizing of JFrame while the font on buttons increases

Hey,
I would like to ask you how to resize my JFrame ,when the size of buttons put in this frame increases.
I mean the font on the buttons increases by 1 point every time I press the button. My goal is to make the two buttons visible all the time. Therefore I need to resize my JFrame. I tried in the following method, but it did not work :(

I can't broadcast with the built in iSight webcam... how would I zoom in or zoom out? or how would I pan? I've seem people doing it walking with their laptops but that's not an option for me... there's nothing wrong with my USB ports but that's neither an option to stream video because as far as I know through USB you can't connect video in apple operating systems ..you can for sure plug any video cam or photo camera through usb but as a drive to transfer data not as a live video camera... is by firewire an old interface developed by apple that you can connect all sorts of cameras to apple computers... unfortunately my new sony HDR-AX2000 camcorder doesn't have firewire output...

I have 8 gb on my macbook pro, but it sometimes only recognizes 4 gb. Whats going on?

I have 8 gb on my macbook pro, but it sometimes only recognizes one of the banks and thus only 4 gb. I was about to open my Macbook Pro mid 2010 2.66 up but it went back up to 8 gb of ram.
I also noticed that the macbook would go to sleep and not wake up again, sometimes. Not sure if this is related.
I did the usual, resetting the PRAM and the other thing with "shift control option." It didn't work and kept on saying 4 gb.
I woke up this morning ready to break open the mac when it read 8 gb. Great! But the **** is going on. Is that memory slot loose?
My google search and search through these forums were useless, no solutions. One guy tried changing his memory into the two banks, no difference. Sometimes it recognizes bank 1 sometimes it doesn't. Another put his ram in another computer, it's not the ram. Someone suggested the motherboard, then someone said "no way" for some arcane reason.
The only solution that seamed viable was going back to snow leopard, the last great OS. Im on mountain lion, not to shabby, but no leopard.
Problem is that I am out of warranty.
Any suggestion would be helpful.

why don't you try this:
open the back of your Macbook - if you're technically capable...
take the ram out, clean it up with a pencil eraser - blow it out - put them back in, slowly and in a slight angle until they lock into place - make sure they are seated correctly...
restart your macbook - if the same bank is still not detecting - then the issue is your RAM slot...

If you bought them on your iPad then you will need to connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy them over to the Tones part of your computer's iTunes library and you can then sync them to your iPhone - ringtones are a one-time only download, so you won't be able to redownload them directly on your phone.

First, make sure these items have checkmarks next to their names in iTunes. Continuous playback only works on checked items. Itunes will play all checked items in a list whether or not they're from the same album.

All the information that I had input on Quicken is gone. I have to have the external hard drive that I use to back up to be able to use quicken now. It is as if it was erased from the laptop hardrive

Try repairing permissions. My favorite way is with a utility called AppleJack. Info and download here. It's free. It only works when you boot in Single User Mode. When restarting or booting, hold down the Command key and S keys.
You will get a very different startup screen that looks like the Terminal app has hijacked the screen. Just let the lines of text scroll by. When that happens you will get a text entry prompt. Type in "AppleJack" without the quotation marks.
A DOS looking menu will appear. Choose 1 or d to run Disk Repair. If you get a message that Disk Repair found and corrected errors, run it again. Repeat until you get the "your disk appears to be ok" message. This rarely happens with my experience, though. This does the same thing as as booting from an external drive and running Disk Utility's repair. Only, no external drive is required!
Next, choose 2 or p to repair disk permissions. This will take a little while. AppleJack warns that it will take up to an half hour to run repair permissions. It'n never taken more than about ten minutes for my MacBook Pro.
As permissions are repaired, you will see each repair scroll on the screen. When done, the menu returns, choose q to quit. Then at the prompt, enter "exit" without the quotes. Your MacBook Pro should restart into Mac OS normally after this.

its not for picture quality the screen is not much bigger, its for an arcade emulation in an exhibit, so i wanted a crt type moniter, and low qulaity output, what input would an old style tv need for it to work?
