Mine does not, but it's a hit and miss. I'd not worry about it though.

  • Display Questions for Current T410s Owners

    Hello all,
    I am in the market for a new laptop and I have boiled it down to the T410s. There is only one issue that concerns me about the actual laptop, the max resolution size. Currently I am using a 15 incher @ 1920x1200 which gives me lots of screen real estate. I do not find the text at all hard to read and I know that it would be presumably smaller even at 1080p on a 14 inch screen which probably wouldn't bother me either.
    My questions to the board are:
    Has anyone been in the same boat and actually bought a T410s? Do you miss all of the screen space that you used to have or did you just get over it?
    Also has anyone successfully replaced the screen with a higher resolution option? Even a 1650x1050 wouldn't be a bad option. This could include unofficially supported screens among other things. Basically, just wondering if a screen change out would work.
    Thanks!

    I don't think a 1680x1050 screen panel exists for the 14.1" size.

  • Question on changing the owner of spatial datatype

    create table test4 (
    COL1 NUMBER(38) NOT NULL,
    COL14 SCOTT.SDO_GEOMETRY
    ) TABLESPACE USERS;
    SQL> select table_owner, table_name FROM all_synonyms where synonym_name='SDO_GEOMETRY'
    OMETRY';
    TABLE_OWNER TABLE_NAME
    SCOTT SDO_GEOMETRY
    I want to change the owner of SDO_GEOMETRY to MDSYS. I know re-creating the table like "COL14 MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY" will get what i'm
    looking for but is there a way to ALTER the table to achieve the same without re-creating it?
    Thanks,
    Rajesh

    user11919950,
    . . . .If you're just messing around on a test machine, then give this a spin:
    -- "Identify obj# in table named obj$ for SDO_GEOMETRY owned by MDSYS
    select
       obj#,
       t.OBJECT_NAME,
       u.USERNAME,
       o.OWNER#
    from       sys.obj$ o,
       dba_users u,
       dba_objects t
    where      u.USER_ID = o.OWNER# (+)
    AND o.name = 'SDO_GEOMETRY'
    AND o.owner# = 46
    AND o.obj# = t.object_id;
          OBJ#   OBJECT_NAME  USERNAME   OWNER#
         45779  SDO_GEOMETRY  MDSYS      46
         48788  SDO_GEOMETRY  MDSYS      46
    -- "identify owner#/user_id for SCOTT"
    SELECT user_id FROM dba_users WHERE username = 'SCOTT'
       USER_ID
            54
    -- "Change the username of one,both of those records from MDSYS to SCOTT"
    -- "NOTE: untested SQL, but if it fails, just edit the table in Oracle Enterprise Manager"
    UPDATE obj$ SET owner# = &ScottUserID WHERE obj# = &ObjNum;
    COMMIT;
    {code}
    I've temporarily changed obj# values in this obj$ table to break associations between oracle objects that were throwing errors. I used Oracle Enterprise Manager's "view contents" form to view the obj$ table and to make those changes. See {message:id=4596120}

  • 2 questions from new mac owner

    Hello all,
    I've found some good information on these forums and there seems to be a good community here, I'm glad I finally bought a mac. I have two questions:
    1- When I copied many digital photographs from dvd's to my hard drive, all of the directories and files are read only. How do I change permissions to many files at once? Right now I am using 'get info' and changing pulldown to read & write. There has to be an easier way.
    2- I use photoshop, dreramweaver, flashpro, blender, etc. Since these are demanding graphics programs, what should I do on a regular basis to keep things running at the best possible speed. I've read about setting up a few things to do automatically each month, but haven't found details. I'm an EX-windows user so I'm used to having to defrag, and do reinstalls from time to time, etc. Thank you and hello everybody.

    You can use "Get Info" on the enclosing folder and change the permissions on the folder and all enclosed items in one shot. With the "Get Info" panel open, click the little disclosure triangle next to "Details" under "Ownership & Permissions". Select the desired permissions and then click the "Apply to enclosed items..." button.

    hello everybody.
    The only thing you normally have to worry about is keeping a few GB of free space on the boot volume for swap files, etc. Mac OS X maintains its filesystems in such a way as to minimize fragmentation, so defragging is not normally needed.

  • Question for Mac Pro owners w/Pioneer DVR-112D superdrive: what firmware?

    For those whose Mac Pro came pre-installed with the Pioneer DVR-112D superdrive, what firmware revision is it running?
    The reason I'm asking is that I have an aftermarket 112D, bought from OWC, that I purchased for it's rip/burn speed advantage over the pokey, possibly riplock crippled, Sony DW-150A that came with my Mac Pro. This advantage was indeed gained, but at the expense of living with some quirkiness with the drive, namely the "two-ejects required" problem discussed here:
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthre...highlight=112D
    This quirkiness has gotten worse since the latest Mac Pro EFI firmware update on 09/27/07. Now if I'm watching a movie from a DVD in the 112D tray, any extended pause (and by extended I only mean more than a minute or so) causes an unrecoverable error in DVD Player and I'm forced to restart the DVD Player and restart the movie.
    My suspicion is that this all has something to do with some (overzealous?) power management feature in Mac OS X that's not playing nice with the existing 112D firmware (I'd be interested in hearing any other plausible theories).
    Currently, my 112D firmware is at revision 1.06. There a number of updated firmware revisions for the 112D circulating on the internet, PC centric, of course and mostly related to disabling region-locking etc.
    I'd like to match my 112D firmware to whatever Mac Pro owners with a 'bona-fide' 112D enjoy, if it's publicly available somewhere.
    Thanks.

    My 112D is at version 1.21. Over the years I have successfully updated the firmware in my Pioneers using the Terminal app DVRFlash. But DVRFlash doesn't support the 112 or 111 series (yet). I wondered how you had updated to 1.22. I know it can be done by connecting to a PC, (which includes Bootcamp, but not Parallels) but I don't have ready access to a PC. At the moment I am waiting for Leopard before going Bootcamp way.
    Any advice?
    Hope this isn't hijacking the thread.

  • Interesting question for original iPhone owners

    Hi,
    I was looking at the back of my device today while it was out of the case (more then usual) and when looking at the two lines of text (below the word "iPhone" but above the memory size icon...in my case mine says "8GB" with a square around it, if you look at the two lines really closely it looks like the lines of text are not straight (more on the right part of the two lines verses the left part of the two lines.
    When I turn the phone sideways looking at the text, then it pretty much looks aligned. I'm wondering if what I'm seeing is just an optical illusion when looking at it right side up or are the two lines really not imprinted on the device in a straight line?
    Intersted to hear other owners in their findings. It's kinda bugging me now so I wanted to ask other people if they see the same thing as I do.

    Are you referring to the second line, beginning roughly with the IMEI number? Using a Schaedler Precision rule, magnification glasses, and a lot of squinting under a halogen lamp, it appears the capital letter height of IMEI is approx. 1/64th of an inch taller than the capital letters ~ FCC ID ~ on the far left of that line. 1/64th is the smallest unit on this ruler. The IMEI on my phone is aligned on the upper portions of the FCC letters, but not along the IMEI baseline of that second line. It's optically insignificant to me, especially since it's on the back and in a case. Hope this helps.

  • Question from new iPad owner

    Just a quick question - just bought a white iPad 2 wifi, I notice on the corners there is a small hair thin opening between the screen and the aluminum. Am I being paranoid / OCD or is this normal?  Thanks

    I see a similar small difference between the formed aluminum and glass on mine. I've worked it pretty hard for a couple of months with no ill effects and no apparent change in the gap.
    the iPad isn't waterproof anyway, so I'm confident that there is no issue with mine. I should also add mine is one of 10 I set up for my company and all were quite similar.
    Hope that helps.

  • Question for C6-01 owners

    Hello.  I just received shipment of a C6-01 from Nokia.  I like it... build feels good, it seems as good as all the Nokia phones I've had before.  But I have a question for those who have the C6-01.  When you look at the camera on the back of the phone, is the LED flash mounted at a slightly different angle than the camera lens?  On this new phone it looks like the flash is on slightly different plane.  If you would look at your phone and tell me if this is consistent I would appreciate it... I want to make sure this one's not damaged.

    Hard to show in pic... hopefully you'll get the idea.

  • Question for S10-3t owners

    Hi Folks,
    I'm seriously considering purchasing an S10-3t, but I have a question for you.
    Is there a reason everyone is choosing the low-end model?
    I'm looking at the one with 2 GB, faster processor, larger hard drive, Windows 7HP, Bluetooth.
    I've priced it out and it is about $110 more than the best price I've seen for the low end model ($399). It seems like the price difference is probably worth it.
    Note: I am pricing it out with and additional 8 cell battery to go with the 4 cell it comes with, and there is currently a 15% off promotion until June 3
    Faster processor:  $10?
    Extra memory:  $30
    Windows 7 HP upgrade:  $80 (according to Microsoft)
    Bluetooth:  $15-30+ (Seems really handy for 3G tethering and/or external peripherals)
    Anyone else have any thoughts on this?
    Thanks!

    The following is from a post I put on the forum on March 17.   The prices shown is what the models cost at that time.
    I originally bouth the S10-3T with the N450 chip and 8 cell battery from a retail store in US. I returned the unit to the store and opted for the S10-3T with N470 chip and 4 cell battery. Lenovo includes Windows Home Premium and Bluetooth.
    I bought the 8 cell battery as I was not sure which I would prefer. The 4 cell battery is nice because its flush with unit. Its good for me during my daily commute. The 8 cell battery is definitely needed for long trips. The 8 cell sticks out and is personal choice if you like the added bulkiness.
    Prior to returning the N450 model, I recorded the Windows Indexing results and ran Geekbench. For those deciding which model to purchase below is a benchmark and average price comparison of both machines.

  • Question To iPhone 3G Owners

    The previous iPhone had a very tough back, is the new plastic one as resistant ? What about scratches ? I want to buy myself one, and I'm just curious.

    This was a concern of mine as well. After I bought it I kept it in my pocket naked for a day but I chickened out and bought a cheap Incipio case. I HATE cases because the design of the phone is so slick and cases ruin the looks. I figure I'll buy an Invisible Shield once I figure that my phone is perfect hardware-wise and I don't have to trade it in.

  • Question to new MacBook owners

    I've just got a MB and checking its Application/utilities folder I find the following files:
    iMac firmware updater
    iMac SMC firmware update
    I just find it strange that it would say iMac when it's MB. And I only get error messages when I try to run them. Does your MB also have these files as iMac and not MB firmware updater?

    thanks bunch! I guess somehow they got loaded on mine - no idea how. i haven't having problems trying to complete boot camp on my MB, it won't accept the Mac drivers software that was made by my MB. Hope this will resolve.

  • HP Mini 110 Audio Questions from a new owner

    Good evening, all,
    Tonight I picked up a Mini 110-3110NR from a local big-box store.  It was a return but 'should' be OK according to the salesperson.  If not, all I need to do is bring it back.
    Well, there are two things that are...  odd...
    1)  There are a lot of irritating 'ping' sounds coming from the speaker.  I turned off system sounds and now don't hear it.  But, I want some system noises.  Aside from going through each system sound, thought I would ask here.
    2) A little more odd is the fact that while the audio is working and in stereo, the audio only comes from the front right side of the case.  Ah...  Is that normal?
    Anyone?  TIA.
    -Ken

    Will try to answer your problem
    1. What kind of ping sound? A high pitch one? hopefully not like this Call HP ASAP so that it can be fixed.
    2. The stereo sould should come from both speaker but not in the same load, test it here --> left and right

  • Basic questions from new iMac owner

    What exactly should I buy for Time Machine backups (I have 27 inch iMac with 8 gb memory).  Also can I migrate data directly to my iMac from my Dell All-in-One, including Itunes music library?  What type of connector best to use?

    You should buy an external disk that uses the usb3 interface (assuming your iMac is new).  Use the disk first with your Dell.  Format it as NTFS if required, put your itunes folder on it, put your documents folder on it, put your pictures folder on it, .....basically get your stuff on the drive.
    Move the disk to the mac.  Now, copy the iTunes folder in the Music folder.  Place everything inside the documents folder inside the iMac's documents folder, put the pictures folder inside your iMac's pictures folder, ...basically move your stuff to the appropreiate iMac folder.
    Now start up iTunes and it will see the old library and all will be fine.  If any of your album, apps, movie artwork looks weird, simply close iTunes go into the cache folder inside the iTunes folder and delete the old cache files. Restart iTunes and the artwork will look OK.
    You can also open iPhoto and import all the photos from your old picture folder.
    Finally when you are happy that all your stuff is in the right place.  Reformat the drive as hfs journaled, name the drive Backup, and point time machine to it from system preferences.  You can format the drive using disk utilitiy which is inside your applications/utility folder.
    It's really not that hard to convert.  Don't worry about applications you had on the Dell.  They won't work.  You just need your data files.  Data is data so all will be well.
    Good luck

  • Quick question to you n91 owners about the wi-fi

    i borrowed an n91 a couple of weeks ago and i'm sure i used it to connect to the instant messenger app built into the phone via www.packetbox.com using wi-fi? but now i have got an n95, there is no option to set to wi-fi connection within the IM apps settings?
    even if your not using packet box, would you mind having a quick look and see if you can set a wi-fi access point within the server settings?
    cheers
    Nexu 5

    If it is a hardware issue, then you don't get charged the $19.  But, if it turns out to be a setting you messed up, then YES, they will want to charge you $19 to help you learn how to use your phone after your 90-days of FREE phone support expired.  Or you could read the manual or articles that are available for free online.
    Basically, if you want someone to hold your hand, then you'll pay for it.
    However.... having said all of that, try this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1559
