Questionable website and security concern

I was searching google images and clicked on an image which took me to:

Is this of any concern to me? It seemed like some possible crapware saying I had vulnerabilities on my computer (funny enough it was a windows background/layout being used on the website)
I am new to mac and try to browse safely, but when I saw this I was an idiot clicking cancel on the popup window thinking it was a safari window and it pretended to scan the computer with what looked like an animated gif. I quickly shut down safari and re-opened it. I searched my history and grabbed the website and that's what I posted here.
I feel like an idiot and lesson learned, but I just wanted to find out if I should be concerned and if so what to do about it.
Thanks!!

Generally that's right. One of the things that keeps Macs fairly trouble free is the OS is built on UNIX, which uses a tiered permission system.
That particular one you went to, did require the person's involvement. There was nothing automatic.
Some applications you download ask you to supply your password to install things, well this is a bit like a gate any malware has to get through. So without downloading anything from a dodgy site, nor installing anything you are not sure about particularly if it asks for your password, this keeps you fairly safe, ( but not bullet proof).
Making sure you have the latest Security Update installed is also a good practice.

    Morning AndreD86,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
These articles explain exactly what is backed up by using their method.
    iTunes: About iOS backups

    and

Also we want to double-click the Home button and swipe the Task Bar to the right.
Then make sure the button on the far left of Task Bar is not muted.
    Best of luck,

  • I accidentally screwed up my apple id when trying to change my primary email address. Password recovery options and security questions arent working either to restore

I accidentally screwed up my apple id when trying to change my primary email address. Password recovery options and security questions arent working either to restore. Created a new appleid just to get into forums to ask a question but hesitate to sync itunes and iphone with it as i may lose all purchased music apps etc. can anyone help? i have received no email response frm apple support, it's been over 48 hours

I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account.  I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there.  On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back.  Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email.  The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option?

  • I forgot my Apple ID security question answers and cannot contact iTunes support by phone. The only way I can ask for help is via email. How can I make that happen?             Thanks

Hi! So I haven't used iTunes in a few months but I just got an iTunes gift card and want to make a purchase. iTunes redeemed it just fine but now that I want to make a purchase I am having problems. I can't remember my security question answers and iTunes is requesting them. I have two other verified emails but the are NOT rescue emails. I can't contact iTunes over the phone because my phone lines are out and are going to be out for a long time. The only way I can contact them is by email. How can I do this? Is there an easy way to just reset all my security questions? Please help a girl out. I just want my music!
    Thanks so much

  • How the **** do you reset the security questions? And how do you add a backed up library to a new computer?

So I have a couple issues and I am extremely frustrated, I'm about to smash all of my apple products.
First issue is how do you reset the security questions? Can't seem to find the "forgot answer" of anything like that.
Second is my old comp crashed so I backed up my iTunes to an external HD, got the file on the new computer, installed iTunes, got alot of my old music from iCloud, but didn't get all my music so I went to add a folder like the support thing I found said, but there's only an add file option, do I have to add each song?
Is there a way to get the songs from my iPhone to the iTunes library? It has all of my music on it as well
    Thanks
    Mike

    For the security questions......
On your computer or safari on your iOS device navigate to:
              For Canada - https://appleid.apple.com/ca.
              For United States - https://appleid.apple.com/us/.
Click the "Manage your Apple ID" button, and sign in to your iCloud account.  Once in, on the left side select "Password and Security", and this will populate our options on the right side.  You should see an option to reset your security questions.
Also see this article about your "rescue email address" - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312.
If for any reason you can not reset these security questions, or get an error, then you may need to contact Apple directly - http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57.   Explain the issue, and they can get your to a "Account Security" agent, who will be able to verify your identity, and assist in resetting the security questions.
    For iTunes....
Is the music you are missing purchased from the iTunes store?  If so
you can Download Past Purchases - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519.

Is there a way to view Flash videos on my iMac without downloading Adobe Flash Player? I'm concerned about performance and security with Adobe Flash Player.

If the video is only available in a format that requires Flash player : then no.
However, a great many can also be viewed in an HTML5 version, in which case http://hoyois.github.io/safariextensions/clicktoplugin/ or similar can be set up so that Flash never runs unless you specifically choose it to.
