Questioning about defective batch

Hi,
I have been an Apple user (iPhone 4s) in the last 2 years maybe? and im wondering about the issues customer got (some of them) after buying an Apple product at launchday or few days after that. Don't take my iphone 4s as a "defective one", oh no, its perfect and probably because i bought it a few months later after the official launchday (and iPhone 5 came along, jeez). And my question is, by your experience, does most apple products that has just been launched turned out to be defective? does this trend occur consistently, and how long do you think is necessary to avoid these defective batches, and acquire a perfect batch? It's because I live outside U.S and only official resellers are available, and I'm worried that they don't have return policy. And having to return Apple product and getting a new one (if they have return policy) and then it turns out to be defective as well, is annoying ,really. And I am planning to buy an iPad Air.

Never had any issues with any Apple products being defective regardless of when I bought them-launch day or otherwise.

  • Question about sql batch process in java app

    hi all
i have few questions about using batch process in the java.sql package. the addBatch method can take sql statements like inserts or updates. can we use a mixture of insert and update then? can we use prepared statement for this? it's just for performance consideration. thanks in advance.

    hi all
i have few questions about using batch process in the
java.sql package. the addBatch method can take sql
statements like inserts or updates. addBatch() is a method that has no parameters. It doesn't 'add' sql statements.
    can we use a
mixture of insert and update then? can we use
prepared statement for this? it's just for
performance consideration. thanks in advance. The point of batching is that you take something that is invariant and then 'add' a variant part.
Thus a single insert has an invariant part (the table and specific columns) and a variant part (the data for each row by column.)
You can use anything that is valid SQL (for jdbc, driver, database) and use it presuming your database allows that particular usage in batching. But that does require some regular pattern - it won't work if your usage is random. Nor will it work if some statements need to be executed only some of the time. Finally also note that transaction processing will often require smaller chunks - you can't insert a million rows in one batch.

  • Question about calling batch file by using the System Exec+.vi?

    Hi
I have a problem about calling batch file. I know that the system exec is equivalent to "run" in Windows. I called the batch file c:\rtxdos\bs\ch0.bat successfully in the "run" but it didn't work in the LabVIEW program. The dos prompt had an error message "Bad command or file name" and it just happen when I call this batch file in LabVIEW. Why?
    Bill.

    Hi,
Try to set the "working directory" parameter of System exec.vi to the directory where the batch file is located. It may help.
    Good luck.

  • Question about Original Batch for IS-Mill

    Dear guru.
I must assign more than one original batch to a production order. Can i do this?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
It is not possible to assign 2 batch numbers to a product coming out of a production order.
I am still not very clear about your requirements.
However, I come across requirements of using only one RM batch in a FG batch (not vice versa). This can be achieved. You need to do an enhancement which runs at the time of reservation/component batch determination/process order release. It reduces the quantity of FG as per available quantity of RM and may create a new proction order for remaining quantity.
    Thanks

  • Miscellanous questions about BDB XML

    Hi !
I'm in search for a storage solution for a Matlab app that manipulates big volumes of datas (several Gb), and so can't load them fully in memory without crashing. I also can't load / unload them each time I need a bit of these data, since it is rather long to load a file in memory (about 0.12s). So I was thinking about using a DMB like BDB XML, and I have a few questions about it :
<ul><li>What about performances to create a 3-5Gb database in a single batch ?</li>
<li>What about performances to excecute a XQuery request on a db this large ? Longer or shorter than loadin directly the file in memory ? With an index or without ?
    </li>
<li> No matlab integration is provided, so I have to way : use Matlab C integration to make an interface to use BDB XML, or using the shell via an exec like command to interact with BDB ? Is the shell trick performant ? Or does it spend a lot of time parsing the input ?</li>
    </ul>
Thanks for those who will take a bit of their precious time to answer my questions !

    Hello,
I'm in search for a storage solution for a Matlab app that manipulates big volumes of datas (several Gb), and so can't load them fully in memory without crashing. I also can't load / unload them each time I need a bit of these data, since it is rather long to load a file in memory (about 0.12s). So I was thinking about using a DMB like BDB XML, and I have a few questions about it :
<ul><li>What about performances to create a 3-5Gb database in a single batch ?</li>It will take a while. If you bulk load you should avoid using transactions and sync/exit the environment when you are done. Note that you should determine what indexes you might want/need before doing the load and create them. Reindexing 5GB of data will take another really large chunk of time. I recommend experimentation with indexes, queries and a small representative subset of the data.
Be sure to create a node storage container with nodes indexed.
Is this one document or many? Many is better. One 5Gb document is less than ideal but will work.
<li>What about performances to excecute a XQuery request on a db this large ? Longer or shorter than loadin directly the file in memory ? With an index or without ?You really need indexes. The query will likely succeed without indexes but depending on the query and the data could take a very long time. See above on experimentation first.
    </li>
<li> No matlab integration is provided, so I have to way : use Matlab C integration to make an interface to use BDB XML, or using the shell via an exec like command to interact with BDB ? Is the shell trick performant ? Or does it spend a lot of time parsing the input ?</li>There is no C interface, just C++. I would not recommend using the dbxml shell for this although you could if you really need to.
Let the group know how this turns out.

  • BCM payment question about House Bank

    Hello,
I have a question about BCM process.
If I want to create a payment batch which is related with a specific house bank and acct. id how can I do it?
For example I need to test the payment for House Bank ABCD account id 123
If I create an invoice in FB60 and then I pay this by the F110 and then I create the batch in BNK_MONi this batch has for example Hose Bank EFGH account id 123.
But I need the payment are linked  to the House Bank ABCD account id 123.
    How can I do it?
which is the link between the invoice and these fields?
    Hope the question makes sense
    Thank You

    Hi Larissa,
What is the Ranking you have defined in FBZP. You have to define the proper ranking to achieve your requirement.
In case you want the particular House bank, acocunt ID to be considered in a particular case and do not want to Change the ranking order, then Give thi shouse bank , account ID in Payment Run by editing the proposal. In this way, the Payment run will consider this.

  • Question about the SGP Oleophobic screen protector

I just ordered one of the SGP Ultra Oleophobic protectors and was curious about their longevity. I never used a screen protector on my 3g and never had a scratch, but after some of the horror stories I've heard, I decided to put one on my iP4. Anyway, I don't have much a frame of reference as to how long these things last. Should I expect to buy a set twice a year/every two months? What has been your experience?

Resolved. Went to Genius Bar this morning to discuss yellow-screen issue.
The Genius looked at my iPhone (which is yellow), looked at my girlfriend's iPhone (which is okay). Brought both iPhones to the back office, came back within minutes, and said "compared both to my iPhone yours (the yellow one) obviously looks more yellow. I will compare yours with other display iPhone models, and we will give you a replacement if we still find yours too yellow."
So he brings me and goes to in-store display iPhones, and compares. Mine looks obviously more tinted and looks worn out. He admits my screen is defective, and goes on to give me a new replacement phone. Screen looks awesome, and it works very good.
My original phone (yellow one) serial number started with 868. My gf's iPhone starts with 888. And my new replacement iPhone starts with 878.
Now this is just my thoughts, but if other yellow phones are also serial batch 868, I believe it is the defective batch. Maybe not, but it is possible.

  • Question about how the Robocopy /B switch works...

I've been experimenting with robocopy recently, and most switches seem self explanatory for the most part; although I have a question about the /B switch.
    The help says the following:
/B :: copy files in Backup mode.
I've checked multiple forums and websites to try and elaborate on this a little more, and from my understanding this switch enables backup mode that essentially gives the ability to change the acls of a file/folder when the account running robocopy does
not have sufficient privileges, to perform a successful copy.
My question is, when the acls are changed when using this "backup mode" switch, with the /copyall switch, will the file still retain the same user access that it originally had - or does it change all of the security settings?
I'm hoping it will somehow change the security settings, create a copy, and retain the same acls as the original - so users can still access necessary files.
Can someone please explain how this "backup mode" works?
    Thanks in advance.

This is a very useful thread with a lot of hostility in it.
I have to agree with Jonathan and hazymat: there are few other forums that will discuss the exact function of /b switch, the TechNet article just says "copies in Backup Mode" (I have the article bookmarked), and when doing a google search, THIS page comes
up as the top result! Kinda difficult to tell people they should go search, when you are the exact destination of that search, isn't it? ;)
No offense to anybody working hard to help out here, but this is why sites like Stack Exchange will overshadow every traditional tech forum very soon. More concise question/answer format, more civil, and they actually encourage old questions developing new
answers! All q&a is cataloged for future reference. Their focus is on being a 'resource'.
The negativity here is unfortunate, you guys have great potential to be a very helpful resource for people. Who are you trying to be, the guys with all the answers, or the guys who say "get out of here, your answer isn't in here. Go search for it."?
Regardless, many thanks to jrv! for helping me with my robocopy batch SCRIPT which I just used to create an automated backup! Take care boys. And yes, I just bumped your old-old thread.
Unfortunately I think you miss the point.  RoboCopy is an application.  It is not a script.  This is a scripting forum.  Many people come here nd never read the forum guidelines and do not ask script related questions.
The /b switch is documented in RoboCopy help.  Of course it assumes the reader is a trained Windows tech and knows what backup mode is.  It is used by nearly all backup software when backing up a live system..
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • Maybe a simple question about M2T ?

    Hi
I record in HDV on the JVC GY 101.
I store on the Focus Enhancements DR HD100 Hard disk recorder.
The footage I have is in HDV 25frames Progressive.
The hard disk stores as m2t file and I seem to need to use Mpeg streamclip to convert for Final Cut Pro HD.
I have a few questions about this.
    1) What should i convert to with mpeg streamclip ? mov, dv m2v etc etc
    2) What setting should I have on FCP with regards to screen size ? The converted clips are 1280x720. When I choose this setting on the sequence, I end up with small black bars left and right of the video on the canvas ???
    3) I will also later have to add some digi beta footage which will be PAL, 720x576 Anamorphic.
    4) What is the best resolution for me here ?
    5) And will the quality of the original m2t file be downgraded by the mpeg streamclip ?
Thanks so much for your help
    All the best
    Simon

HDV isn't an "edit-friendly" format, meaning: HDV uses inter-frame compression, combined with a long group-of-pictures (GOP) of 15 frames (12 frames in PAL-equivalent). In intra-frame compression (as in DV, DVCPRO HD, etc.), each video frame is a complete image that stands alone. Inter-frame compression (which is also used in DVDs) uses only a limited number of complete image frames, the GOP determines that number. So, in HDV for example, with a GOP of 15 frames, 1 second of 30fps video contains only 2 complete frames, while the other 28 frames are determined by calculations used in conjunction with the Bi-directional ('B') and Predicted ('P') frames, which contain partial information on the changes in the video in between the 'I' frames which contain whole images. This process, of course, requires much more computer processing power than when editing DV, DVCPRO HD, Uncompressed, etc.
Editing video streams such as HDV (and XDCAM HD) is made difficult by the reduced number of I-frames. For example, if you make a cut in between the I-frames in the video clip, the computer has to then recalculate new I-frames that are placed at both sides of the cut. Converting on capture/after import to an intra-frame codec like DVCPRO HD, ProRes 422, or Uncompressed will reduce processing power and increase real-time performance, as well as give better performance when adding effects and performing compositing like chroma-keying.
A common rule of thumb in professional applications is to acquire in HDV, XDCAM HD, etc., but capture and edit in DVCPRO HD, ProRes 422, or even Uncompressed. Native HDV editing is not taboo by any means; it's just not as easy or robust -- especially with the LONG render times. Depending on what kind of work you do (and of course personal preference), you may not see much benefit by transcoding to another format.
Are you suggesting i have to convert each clip after capture?
Unless you have an HDV deck with HD-SDI and a capture card, you would have to convert each clip. Batch-conversion would be very useful for that.
    Hope that helps.

  • I'm looking to buy a new Macbook Pro, and have questions about the Applecare extended warranty?

I'm looking to buy a new Macbook Pro, and have questions about the Applecare extended warranty? I want to know if the 3 year extended warranty covers what damage. Like water damage, accidental damage, lost or stolen macbook, manufactory defects, or any other kind of damage, maybe be even cosmetic damage. Can anyone help me?

If you are talking about features of the MBP itself, as long as you are not looking at  the Retina models, then the memory you can upgrade yourself for a lot less than Apple charges, and that does not affect the warranty as Apple considers memory a user permitted upgrade.  Great sources are Crucial and OWC, both are Mac specialists and have on-line videos on how to do the install.
If the 15" is what you are looking at, a good upgrade is the 7200 rpm hard drive, gives a little better performance over the standard 5400 rpm drive.
The Hi Res screen is good if you do a lot of graphics work.
Comparing the 13" amd 15" you will notice the 15" has a second, discrete graphic processor...helps when you get into heavy duty videos, games, graphics...but keep in mind that kicking in the second processor uses a lot of power and will run the battery down faster.
If you are looking at the Retina models, then keep in mind there are no post-purchase upgrade options...you have to buy with everything you want at the start.
    Just some thoughts.

  • Basic question about Flashback Database

    Hi,
I have a very generic question about using Flashback Database.
On my testing systems, for performance testing and simulation purposes, I want to create a guaranteed restore point so I can test impact on batch when code change releases are done, before deployment in production.  My confusion is with respect to redo logs, as summarized in the questions below:
    1. Is it possible to change redo log files, when a guaranteed restore point has been configured?
    2. If yes, will the Flashback to restore point, also change the size of the redo logs?
I could not find anything in the docs about this....hence my question....
Appreciate your time taken in responding to these questions....

  • Questions about the stereo jack p

    Hi everyone,
I , citizen of the Netherlands,Europe, have some questions about the well known problem stereo jack defect.
    - What is the warranty-period of the Zen Micro , in case my stereo jack will fall out?
    - How to get a RMA and how long will this take to get it done and sent... will it cost me a bomb (sent and repair costs)?
    - Do you get a NEW one back or do they repair the old one for you? As far as i can read it here the chance is big a NEW one will get the same problems one day.. ;P
By the way, it suprises me that the company is still producing these "wrong" micro's, this problem is known for months!Wouldn't it be cheaper for them to just produce the right ones immediatly instead of repairing them?
Hope anyone can help me out
    Thanks in advance
A owner of a Zen Micro White and afraid to get the stereo jack problem one day :P

    Thanks SSR for your reply.
I was wondering how serious the jack problem actually is... according to the posts here it seems very common to have these problems. But this can be misrepresented because this is maybe just the tip of the iceberg.
Maybe are there anyone who have the Zen Micro for at least 6 months and WITHOUT any problems?
    thx
