Questions about Downloading Movies from Itunes

I have used itunes extensively for my music, but have never downloaded any movies or video. If I downloaded a movie from the Itunes store can I then burn it on to a disc. If so, it needs to be a DVD-R disc not a CD-R right? This may sound like a really dumb question, but I have never done this before. Thanks

From the itunes store terms of service:
"You shall not be entitled to burn video Products"

If i purchase and download a movie from itunes, can i burn it to a dvd?(assuming i have a dvd burner) thx

Sorry, no. The protection on the file will only allow you to burn a data disc for backup purposes. The protection prevents burning a DVD that can be played in any home DVD unit. This is required by the major motion picture studios & other copyright holders, not Apple.

  • HT1491 Downloaded movie from Itunes onto Ipad, when tried to watch it would not start

Downloaded movie from Itunes onto Ipad, when tried to watch it would not open and start.

From iTunes on the iPad or from iTunes on your computer? BTW, you are trying to watch the movie in the videos app, correct?
if you synced the movie to the iPad, delete it and sync it again. Tap the Edit Button in the Movies tab of the Videos app and then tap the X on the movie icon to delete it. Then sync it again.
if you downloaded it directly to the iPad, close the videos app completely, reboot the iPad and then try again.
Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button twice.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • HT4241 How do I get an Epson EX5210 to display using the HDMI mini display port adapter so I can see 1080p downloaded movie from iTunes? It won't recognize the display via hdmi cable and adapter!

Please help! I've tried everything to get this dang thing to display a downloaded movie from itunes on my epson EX5210 lcd projector via a HDMI cable plugged into a minidisplay port adapter. I am no expert and have no idea what to do!

It's all in the manual... starting on page 26...
USB seems to work as well. Tried that?
By the way, this dang thing has "only" 768 physical pixels vertically, so "1080p" won't be visible anyway, and scaling will take place. Hope you won't be diappointed. All specs including resolutions here.

  • Is it possible to download movies from iTunes???

I was wondering if it was possible to download movies from iTunes to put on to your iPod, and burn to a disc. I have looked on iTunes and i can't find anything anywhere, however on the apple website there are images from films on iPods....so how do you do it????

I believe the plan that was announced when the Movies were introduced was to roll them out to other stores sometime in 2007 which obviously didn't happen. The reason that stores for different countries have different content is due to restrictions placed on Apple by the record companies, film companies, TV companies and other copyright holders. These are quite often completely different from country to country and therefore all require their own individual contract negotiations. The varying content is not imposed by Apple, who would have a much easier job if they only had to maintain one multi-national store and deal with one set of licensees.

  • Download movies from Itune

who can tell me what is wrong with itune, everytime I download movies from Itune, the movie is very dark, the last one can barely see. What can be done , thanks

Good point - current requirements for iTunes 9.x are:
    Macintosh Hardware
Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5 or G4 processor
Intel, PowerPC G5 or 1.0GHz PowerPC G4 or faster processor is required to play Standard Definition video from the iTunes Store
2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo or faster processor is required to play HD video, an iTunes LP, or iTunes Extras from the iTunes Store
512MB of RAM; 1GB is required to play HD video, an iTunes LP, or iTunes Extras
Screen resolution of 1024x768 or greater; 1280x800 or greater is required to play an iTunes LP or iTunes Extras
Playing videos also requires at least 16MB of video RAM
Broadband Internet connection to use the iTunes Store
Apple combo drive or SuperDrive to create audio, MP3, or back-up CDs; some non-Apple CD-RW recorders may also work.
Apple SuperDrive to back up your library to DVDs; some non-Apple DVD-RW drives may also work.

  • HT4539 Downloaded movie from iTunes in iPad but doesn't show up

I tried purchasing a movie from ITunes on my computer first and it wouldn't finish so then I tried downloading it directly from the IPad and it doesn't show up at all. Am I missing something?

I haven't seen this or read about it here, but this is what I'd try, in order:
(I am assuming you activated the ipad, right? If not, do that first.)
    1) Press and Hold the Home and Wake Sleep buttons until the Apple Logo appears.
    2) If that doesn't work, try a reset, To reset go to Settings, General, Reset, Reset.
    3) Reinstall itunes on the computer.

  • ITunes 7.0.1(7):  Problems Downloading Movies from iTunes Store

Prior to installing the iTunes 7.0.1(7) upgrade, I had no problems downloading movies from the iTunes store. After I noticed that there appeared to be rate-limiting on the inital movie that I purchased, I simultaneously downloaded three other movies and watched one of the movies while they were downloading.
No problems with downloading multiple movies but severe problems with using iTunes 7.0.0 as a viewer. An inadvertent movement or click of the mouse resulted in the video portion of the movie disappearing. To solve the problem, I created symlinks in the QuickTime Player's ~/Movies directory to the downloaded movies. Using QuickTime as a viewer was a significant improvement over iTunes.
Upgraded to iTunes 7.0.1(7) when it was released. Today I discovered that the release has significant problems downloading movies.
After the initial download of the movie to /private/tmp, the iTunes download panel displays a message stating that it is processing the file. One would assume that it is inserting the chapter bookmarks and transferring it to the ~Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Movies directory.
Not so. Its downloading the movie a second time. The processing file message is displayed a second time followed by a pop-up window reprting that the file is corrupt with an error code of 10008. Looks like one of Window's infamous network error codes. Wonder what it's doing on a Mac?
Enough of my diatribe. Are others seeing this? Do you have a "work around" or solution to the problem?
    PowerBook 17, PowerMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   iTunes 7.0.1(7)

I did run Disk Utility after reporting my problems here and to the iTunes Store. The "Check Permissions" scan found two iTunes with the incorrect permissions. As the permissions were correct prior to the upgrade, I presume the executable permission flags were turned on during the upgrade. Repaired the permission problems.
Also, I performed a reboot as was mentioned in a discussion of a slightly different problem. I was able to download one of the movies. The second failed about half-way through the download with a 9006 error.

  • Iphone 6 plus screen frozen when downloading movies from itunes

My iphone 6 plus screen froze up when I tried to rent/download 2 movies on iTunes. I did  not have enought free space to accommodate I guess, so instead I tried downloading it on my iPad since I had more storage space...but when I tried to rent it on my iPad instead, iTunes says I already rented it... Will I be paying for the two movies I rented since I dont have enough space to watch it? And how do I unfreeze my screen?

    Hello there, Zara2aj.
When renting movies on your iOS device, the following Knowledge Base article explains where to locate it and the availability of that rental on other devices:
FAQs about renting movies from the iTunes Store - Apple Support
Where can I find movies that I rented?
Find your movie on the device you used to rent it. Follow these steps:
Mac or PC: Go to the Rentals tab in the Movies section of the iTunes Library.
iOS device: Go to the Rental tab of the Videos app.
    Apple TV:
2nd or 3rd generation: Look in the top shelf of the main menu.
1st generation: Go to Movies > Rented Movies.
Where can I watch movies that I rented?
    Mac or PC
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch (with iOS 3.1.3 or later)
iPod classic, iPod nano (3rd, 4th, or 5th generation)
    TV using Apple TV
Watch your movie on the device you used to rent it. If you rented the movie on your computer, you can move it to an iOS device or Apple TV (1st generation). To do this, connect the devices and sync using USB. When you move a rented movie from your computer, it will disappear from your computer’s iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as much as you want, but you can only have it on one device at a time.
If you rented the movie on your iOS device or Apple TV, you can’t move it to any other device.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • 8008 Error when trying to download movies from iTunes

I've searched Google and the discussion boards but no one seems to have a fix for the 8008 error when trying to download movies in iTunes. I have the latest version of iTunes, my Mac Mini is up to date with all of it's patches, I've tried deleting the movie in the download folder and redownload the movie but I still get nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions for a fix?
    Thanks,

    Morning pettis360,

For troubleshooting on this, take a look at this article:

    "Error -50," "-5000," "8003," "8008," or "-42023"
These alerts occur due to timeouts or conflicts trying to write a file during download.
If you encounter this issue while while downloading something from the iTunes Store:
Delete your iTunes Downloads folder, located in:
    Mac OS X:
~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Downloads   Note: "iTunes Media" may appear as "iTunes Music. Also, the tilde (~) refers to your Home directory.
After locating your iTunes Downloads folder:
    Quit iTunes.
Delete the Downloads folder on your computer.
    Open iTunes.
Choose Store > Check for Available Downloads.
Enter your account name and password.
    Hope this helps,
    Mario
