Hi Guys,
i got some questions about the .0.03 firmware.
) What's the difference between the :
ZenMicro_PCFW_LB__0_03_PDE.exe ,57 MB 8 Feb 05.
and the
ZenMicro_PCFW_US__0_03_PDE.exe ,8 MB 08 Dec 04 ?
Does "US" means that this is the north american version ?
So what is LB ?
2) I've got the "ZenMicro_PCFW_US__0_03_PDE.exe ,8 MB 08 Dec 04". Is there any use of upgrading to the one from 8 Feb 05 ?
3) ZenMicro_PCFW_US__0_03_PDE.exe

From what I've picked up elsewhere in the forum, the LB version of the .0.03 firmware just includes MORE LANGUAGES (for the user interface, i.e. menus) than the US version of that same firmware. see : http://forums.creative.com/creativel...essage.id=2374 ... which, really, you should have found using the search function, before posting. --Fred.

Hello,
I have some questions about the "Do Not Disturb" feature which are not quite addressed by the documentation.
When DND is enabled, will badge app icons still be displayed?
When DND is turned off, either manually or automatically, will Notification Center banners be available for alerts which occurred while DND was on, or are they lost forever?
I guess the main questions is, is DND like an answering machine, which stores up your notifications until you are ready to deal with them? Or is it a return of the "turn off all notifications" feature that existed in iOS 4, albeit in a more evolved form?

If you have a schedule set, but activate it manually, it will de-activate at the scheduled time anyway. It behaves perfectly on my 4S, my wife's 4, and both of our iPads.
If you have an iPhone 5, it could be tied to the known issue with automatic time set going Wonky on LTE networks. If that's the case, try disabling the automatic time set and see if it behaves itself.

I was in the exact same situation. I completed the order online, waited five days, and eventually called them back to be told that my order was still processing. I told them to cancel it, and I would retry. I ordered it again the next week, and it all happened again. They offered to escalate it and have it processed manually, but it could take another 48 hours. I told them to forget it.
The next week, I activated a single line on my own account. It worked flawlessly. I ordered around 4:00 PM, and it showed up around 4:00 PM the next day. The difference was that I activated a single line on a new account, as opposed to activating another line on another account.
It was a headache, and believe me, I know how you feel. Verizon representatives are more of a headache than they are actual help. Their hands are always tied, and everything has to be escalated.

Questions about Micro and Zen Sl

I'm considering buying either a Micro or a Zen Sleek and have a few questions...
) Does the above players still require a dedicated/special driver on XP like the older players did (i.e. Zen NX) ?
2) Can the players be used as a driver-less memory dri've like a USB memory stick, or does it need a driver for this (like Zen NX)?
3) How is Creative's PC/Windows software these days - is it still bad and better to use 3rd party software like Red Chair's ?
4) Does the players still require 00% accurate tag info. to properly cataloque the songs on the player or can songs be manually arranged and browsed in folders like on the PC ?
5) Can both Sleek and Micro be charged thru the USB cable ?

. For the Micro, not with the v2 firmware. See the FAQ post, specificailly "the difference between the Zen Micro v and v2 firmware". It seems that the Sleek doesn't have MTP firmware yet, I can't quite make head or tail of the posts about it.
2. Again for the Micro, it has a USB mass storage mode. You can set up to 4Gb of the disk (the partitioned space has to be free of audio files) to work in this way. For the Sleek I'm not sure.
3. It's a matter of taste. I don't have any big problem with MediaSource, but there's plenty of options out there. See the FAQ post.
4. Yes, accurate tag data is vital.
5. Micro definitely. Again with the Sleek I'm not sure.

Zen Micro Firmware Not Reload

I am trying to reload my firmware onto my Zen Micro 5GB but the firmware tool keeps asking me to connect the device. It is connected to the USB cable and my computer recognises it (i can access it through My Computer and it shows up in the device listings). The firmware tool doesn't recognise it though. Before I lost the firmware, the Zen Media Explorer also would not recognise it, even though the Media Source did. I don't know how to reload my firmware on to the player now.Can anyone help?

I've had a look at some posts that state that roll back (or install) WMP0. However, I can't do that as my system won't let me. It states that WMP0 is incompatible with my Windows (XP Home SP2). It says to go to Details for further information, but this brings up a Windows webpage that is no longer present. I just can't figure out how to force the firmware to upgrade when the firmware program wont recognise that it is connected.

Question about Micro Clea

I'm was going to run the CleanUp option on my Zen Micro to see if it fixes some problems I'm having and I need to know if this feature will delete all the music from the device.

[SOLVED] Two Questions about b43-firmware AUR Package

Hi. On my old laptop, my wifi adapter worked out-of-the-box / no extra driver installation required. On my new laptop I have the Broadcom BCM43228 wi-fi adapter. Up to this point I have just been using the proprietary broadcom-wl driver, which has worked fine but it has been annoying having to rebuild (that is: install latest linux-headers, run makepkg) and reinstall broadcom-wl every time the linux kernel is upgraded. I discovered that the open-source b43 firmware recently added support for the chip. So I have two questions...
1. With b43, would I still need to rebuild/reinstall the package every time the kernel is upgraded?
2. Is there any way to know if the linux kernel will integrate b43 some day? Is this something that happens? I'm assuming it must be because I didn't have to install anything extra to use the wi-fi adapter on my old laptop. Maybe there's some schedule online of when the linux kernel developers intend to integrate open-source drivers/firmware directly into the kernel?

It's not firmware that added support, it's the driver.
driver = code that runs in the kernel
firmware = code that runs on the device itself

Nope, the firmware isn't tied to a particular kernel.

The kernel does have b43 integrated. What the package installs isn't the driver, it's the firmware that gets uploaded onto the wifi card.
A lot of firmware is distributed in the linux-firmware package. However this requires that the firmware is released under a license that allows redistribution. But the b43 firmware isn't redistributable, that's why you need to get it from AUR.

Questions about changing Firmware

Is this a good idea or can it wreck the phone also will it void my warrenty if i do it??

Judging by your question it is NOT a good idea, yes you can wreck your phone and you will void your warranty (however I think the guys at the nokia care center will put new firmware on it, but you'll have to pay for it). For what I've read, it can be done, but it doesn't sound like you're going to do it succesfully, or you wouldn't be asking this question here. Your phone is still in warranty, so you could just take it to a nokia care center and have the firmware updated if you want. That will not void your warranty and if something fails you'll get either a new firmware again, or if that fails too, I think they'll get you a new phone.

WRT54G2 v.1 router - question about upgrading firmware

I posted this as a reply to another thread because I couldn't see how to start a new one - but finally figured it out so am posting it again. Sorry about that.
I am having to unplug my router (WRT54G2 v.1.0.04) about 1-2 times a week. When i plug it back in - it works again. (I have the modem/router connected to my desktop and a laptop networked.) Using Network Magic.
Someone said I should update the firmware, but not sure which version to update to - the choices are 1.0, 1.3, 1.5. I don't want to update to the wrong firmware - don't know if I should choose the latest or 1.3 first, then 1.5
Can anyone help?

For starters, check the bottom of the router to see what hardware version your router is. Then ONLY download the firmware for that particular hardware version of the router. If you have a version 1.0 router then select ONLY Version 1.0 from the Linksys/Cisco WRT54G2 download support page, do not select Version 1.3 or 1.5. Same goes for version 1.3, do not use the firmware for hardware versions 1.0 or 1.5. And for version 1.5, do not use the firmware for hardware versions 1.0 and 1.3.
If your using a WRT54G2 V1 router the latest firmware is Ver.1.0.04 (Build 5). If this firmware is already loaded to the router it will be listed in the upper right hand corner of the administration pages, and will show up as "Firmware Version: 1.00.4".
For hardware version 1.3 the latest firmware is Ver.1.3.00 Build 28.
For hardware version 1.5 the latest firmware is Ver.1.5.01 Build 13.
Unfortunately there are some bugs with the WRT54G2 routers with either the hardware or the firmware. I routinely have to power cycle/reboot mine from time to time when my wireless connection speed drops off (usually down to 1 Mps) and loading web pages crawls or pages times out. I tried loading the third party firmware by DD-WRT to the WRT54G2 but that too had issues, mainly the wireless speed would drop to 1 Mps and stay there until the router was rebooted/power cycled. Ended up dumping DD-WRT and putting the stock Linksys firmware back on this router and just power cycle the router every couple of days.
It sometimes helps to do a 30/30/30 reset on the router and reconfigure from scratch.
Hard Reset (aka 30/30/30 reset):
The following procedure will clear out the NVRAM and set dd-wrt back to default values:
With the unit powered on, press and hold the reset button on back of unit for 30 seconds
Without releasing the reset button, unplug the unit and hold reset for another 30 seconds
Plug the unit back in STILL holding the reset button a final 30 seconds (please note that this step can put Asus devices into recovery mode...see note below!)

Just to say there ARE lots of Apps on BlackBerry World, so potential BB purchasers should not let that stop them, and some very good free ones, excellent -- BlackBerry Travel is really good, and OsmAnd maps are fabulous, big to download, but when you get it you'll be amazed. Question about mirroring art not once but twice.

So I am a Production Artist for a bigger company that mainly makes shoes, but also makes Jerseys and T-Shirts. I build around 15 shirts a day. What we do is build "Full Size Art" off the artboard of an illustrator file, the size it would be on a shirt. Then on the art board itself is a visual. One Box to show a clear view of the art then below two garments; a front view of a t-shirt and a back view. I figured out how to mirror the art from the Full Size to go in the first box using the effect>transform>ReflectX&Y and put in the correct measurements. But That only takes care of it once. When I try to do the same thing again it will not only mirror the original art it will mirror the mirror and then I have too many copies. Is there anyway to accomplish what i'm trying to do? All help is appreciated!

In this case I would consider using symbols.
With 1 color artworks you could apply effects, but with your artwork symbols are simpler. Since the registration point is fixed in CS5, you won't have too much trouble with instances repositioning when editing the symbol artwork

So i am trying to use ModelAlias.vbs userexit script to create sensible names for Lenovo machines so i can arrange my MDT driver structure accordingly.

Whats not so fun with Lenovo machines (there are other vendors also i guess) that model name for machine could be something like 6138W1K when giving commandprompt command wmic csproduct get name. Actual model name for 6138W1K is ThinkCentre M58p.

So i assumed ModelAlias.vbs would return something like ThinkCentre M58 as an result so i could use that for folder structure (or in database) Problem is that ModelAlias.vbs gives that model number 6138W1K as result not

Looking at the script, the model numbers aren't populated, looks like you have to do that yourself. The script will find the 4 leftmost characters of the Lenovo model type and return it. If you want to translate that to something else its up to you
to enter it. It really doesn't have to be translated, unless you want it to be. If your driver folder is named 1706 and the ModelAlias returns 1706, you're good to go.
See under "Select Case sModelSubString" where it says Case 1706? The next line 'SetModelAlias = "ThinkPad X60"' will translate 1706 into "ThinkPad X60". but that's the only example given. You would need to add a separate Case for each model you own.
Case Else says if you don't match any of the existing cases, then do this. In this case its "SetModelAlias = sModel", or return whatever sModel contains. I guess that is the entire 7 digit model and subtype?
Change that to SetModelAlias = sModelSubString, and it will return just the 4 digit model, i.e. 1706.

Question About Runtime Class Not Found Exception

Good Morning!
I have a very simple test class that I am using to debug a class loader issue with log4j. I can compile my class. I put the class in a jar file with a manifest that points to the class with the main method. The log4j .jar file is in the .\lib directory, below the test1.jar file. I have fussed around with different variations of -cp & -classpath, without success. I can not figure out why the runtime environment can not load the org.apache.log4j.Logger class.
What is wrong with the way that I am setting up the runtime environment?

Fussing around with the -classpath parameters won't do anything, because they are ignored when the -jar parameter is present. Running an executable jar means that you specified the classpath in the jar's manifest. Which you didn't do. You need a Class-Path entry in the manifest which provides the path to the log4j.jar file relative to your executable jar.

I have a question about flash player not working.

I have downloaded and installed both the adobe flash and shochwave players on both my computer. When on a page that requires a flash player I get the message to install adobe flash player. Under computer; program files neither show as being installed just adobe reader and adobe help show. Now under the control panel under Programs and Features the shockwave does show but not the flash player 10. I have a desk top running XP Pro 32 bit. and a laptop running vista 32 bit. I have tried differnt things from the support page nothing there seems to work. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the programs seveal times. I did have adobe 8 before which worked fine on my desktop but have been unable to find it to download. Could someone help me to get them to work. Any help would be wonderful, thank you. Patches_11

under the folder C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash is the following 2 files

that is all that is there.

Question about the new notes application?

the new notes application is great but is there anyway to transfer the files off the ipod and view them in word or notepad on your computer as that would be a really useful feature.
