Questions about Rooting...

Hi everyone, I’ve some questions about rooting my Xperia Arc S. Hopefully I’ll get helpful answers from you.
If I root my phone, shall I get regular software official updates from Sony?
Currently Sony is rolling out the ICS update. After rooting the phone am I able to upgrade my phone to ICS?
While rooting the phone if any damage is done, can that be recoverable by installing a fresh OS or something?
Does the rooting process delete all the existing contacts, messages, apps etc?
Finally can anyone please provide a full proof guide/tutorial for rooting the Xperia Arc S?
Thanks in advance.

Do you have an app named Super USer ?
Were you on 4.0.4 and then rooted your mobile using this method ?
If yes then your mobile is not rooted for sure

  • A tentative question about "root"

    Hello, friends —
I've been using PacketLogger recently, in an effort to gain a better understanding of Bluetooth communication (specifically, handshakes) during the boot process &/or when there's a connection problem. (PacketLogger is accessible from /Developer/Applications/Utilities/Bluetooth/ if Developer Tools are installed in OS X 10.4.x.)
But, despite setting PacketLogger to "Open at Login," I haven't been able to capture traffic during the boot process — because the application requires my admin. password, which I don't know how to supply until after the boot sequence is completed.
Can something like this be changed ~simply as "root" ?
Or would I have to modify something in PacketLogger's package contents?
(Probably beyond my current level of understanding...)
    Or...?
I realize this may be a query for the UNIX forum or the bluetooth-dev Mailing List, but thought I'd ask here first. For all I know, there's a ~simple solution that I just can't quite see.
    Thanks!
    Dean
p.s. Using "auto-login" doesn't appear to affect this issue.

Hi, Mihalis and (-Steve-), et.al. —
    Thanks for your ideas.
Sorry, I haven't tested suggestions yet; will post back in a few hours.
I'm not too worried about short-term security issues, as I will control the environment comlpetely while running these trials.
Perhaps a tad more explanation would be helpful.
My primary objective is getting PacketLogger to begin logging as early in a boot process as possible, so I can compare its "PacketDecoderAutodump-[time-stamp string]-0600.pklg" log data to what's written to system.log during boot sequences. So far, I've been able to observe two types of events via the system log (in addition to the respective drivers start-up and init, and unrelated process events) —
        • The brief CSRHIDTransitionDriver process which apparently enables "startup keyboard shortcuts" from ROM on the Bluetooth module
        •  IOAppleBluetoothHIDDriver init, handleStart, waitForHandshake, and Unsuccessful Handshake for defined Bluetooth device addresses (I'm watching mouse/keyboard HID).
I'm trying to better understand the dynamics of how/why one or two of these (second bullet) sequences is written to the system log vs. what are obviously succeessful Handshakes that aren't logged (or HID function wouldn't exist at all). Beyond this, to understand why a 5-10+-second delay in Bluetooth keyboard function occurs once the Login screen appears.
Unfortunately, I don't quite know how a log-in hook would help, because I'd like to "see" before and during the loginwindow/Security Agent sequence. At present, I can "launch" it (bring to front and enter password) shortly after start-up is completed. When I do so, system.log notes —
    "authexec: executing /Developer/Applications/Utilities/Bluetooth/PacketLogger.app/Contents/ Resources/LogAuthenticationTool" —
which probably provides some insight into where I'd have to go to alter this behavior if running as root doesn't meet the objective. I'm guessing it will.
I have to be away for a while, then will test and post back. Thanks again for your interest and ideas!
    Sincerely,
    Dean

  • Question about Kurts comments discussing the seperation of AIA & CDP - Test Lab Guide: Deploying an AD CS Two-Tier PKI Hierarchy - Kurt L Hudson MSFT

Question about the sentence in bold. What is the meaning behind this comment?
How would you separate the role of the AIA and CDP from a CA subordinate server? I can see where I add a CES and CEP server which has those as well, but I don't completely understand his comment. Because in this second step, (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/tlg-key-based-renewal.aspx)
he shows how to implement CES and CEP.
This is from the guide located at: http://technet.microsoft.com/library/hh831348.aspx
Step 3: Configure APP1 to distribute certificates and CRLs
In the extensions of the root CA, it was stated that the CRL from the root CA would be available via http://www.contoso.com/pki. Currently, there is not a PKI virtual directory on APP1, so one must be created.
In a production environment, you would typically separate the issuing CA role from the role of hosting the AIA and CDP.
However, this lab combines both in order to reduce the number of resources needed to complete the lab.
    Thanks,
    James

My concern is, they have a 2-3k base of xp systems, over this year they are migrating them to Windows 7. During this time they will also be upgrading hardware for the existing windows 7 machines. The turnover of certificates are going to be high, which
from what I've read here, it worries me.
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/askds/archive/2009/06/24/implementing-an-ocsp-responder-part-i-introducing-ocsp.aspx
The application then can go to those locations to download the CRL. There are, however, some potential issues with this scenario. CRLs over time can get rather large
depending on the number of certificates issued and revoked. If CRLs grow to a large size, and many clients have to download CRLs, this can have a negative impact on network performance. More importantly, by
default Windows clients will timeout after 15 seconds while trying to download a CRL. Additionally,
CRLs have information about every currently valid certificate that has been revoked, which is an excessive amount of data given the fact that an application may only need the revocation status for a few certificates. So,
aside from downloading the CRL, the application or the OS has to parse the CRL and find a match for the serial number of the certificate that has been revoked.
With the above limitations, which mostly revolve around scalability, it is clear that there are some drawbacks to using CRLs. Hence, the introduction of Online Certificate
Status Protocol (OCSP). OCSP reduces the overhead associated with CRLs. There are server/client components to OCSP: The OCSP responder, which is the server component, and the OCSP Client. The OCSP Responder accepts status
requests from OCSP Clients. When the OCSP Responder receives the request from the client it then needs to determine the status of the certificate using the serial number presented by the client. First the OCSP Responder determines if it has any cached responses
for the same request. If it does, it can then send that response to the client. If there is no cached response, the OCSP Responder then checks to see if it has the CRL issued by the CA cached locally on the OCSP. If it does, it can check the revocation status
locally, and send a response to the client stating whether the certificate is valid or revoked. The response is signed by the OCSP Signing Certificate that is selected during installation. If the OCSP does not have the CRL cached locally, the OCSP Responder
can retrieve the CRL from the CDP locations listed in the certificate. The OCSP Responder then can parse the CRL to determine the revocation status, and send the appropriate response to the client.

  • Basic Questions About Compiling Source

    Hi!
I have some very basic questions about compiling source on 10.6. BTW, if the unix discussions still exist, they've hidden them pretty well, so I hope I'm in the right place for this!
First off, you simply cd to the source dir, wherever it may be - in my case ~/Downloads/source/  - and during the install process, everything will be installed in its proper dir, right?
How do you know which compiler to use? There seem to be several: make, gmake, gcc, g++, etc...
Once you do figure out which compiler to run, the process is supposed to go like this, right?
    ./configure
    make (or whatever)
    make install
But this doesn't always work for me. For instance, I'm trying to compile 'arm', but it doesn't seem to have a 'configure' script.
    $ ls ~/Downloads/arm
    ChangeLog
    README
    armrc.sample
    setup.py
    LICENSE
    arm
    install
    /src
Maybe it's that 'setup.py' file? What are you supposed to do?
Of course, it's not only this one that's given me trouble. Sometimes the readme will say I have to edit a certain file for my system. Are there just a few standard changes you always make? Or is it...how can I put it...complicated? How do you find out what's needed in those cases?
    OS 10.6.8
    Xcode 3.2.4
    Python 2.7

This is the place for UNIX discussions. If you have developer-related questions, there is a forum dedicated to that as well: Developer Forums
First off, you simply cd to the source dir, wherever it may be - in my case ~/Downloads/source/  - and during the install process, everything will be installed in its proper dir, right?
Yes. Hopefully the project you want to install follows standard conventions. If so, you can do "./configure", then "make", and finally "sudo make install" to install the software into "/usr/local".
How do you know which compiler to use? There seem to be several: make, gmake, gcc, g++, etc...
The make file will figure that stuff out.
Once you do figure out which compiler to run, the process is supposed to go like this, right?
    ./configure
    make (or whatever)
    make install
Yes, with the addition of "sudo" before "make install" because "/usr/local" is owned by root.
But this doesn't always work for me. For instance, I'm trying to compile 'arm', but it doesn't seem to have a 'configure' script.
    $ ls ~/Downloads/arm
    ChangeLog
    README

    setup.py
    LICENSE
    arm
    install
    /src
arm? You mean "arm (anonymizing relay monitor) - Terminal status monitor for Tor relays." You really don't want to be messing with that stuff. The only people involved with Tor that are trustworthy are US Navy intelligence who have their own uses for it. If you don't understand it as well as they do, best stay away.

  • Newbie question about loading servlets on tomcat

I have what is probably a very basic question about loading simple servlets on to tomcat to test its installation. I have followed instructions from numerous tutorials to the letter but still I can't get it to work.
I have installed tomcat on win2k in c:\tomcat. I set up the jdk, environment vars (JAVA_HOME, CATALINA_HOME, TOMCAT_HOME) which all point at the correct dirs. I can compile a servlet without errors. I can also place a test jsp and html file into the root directory and they both work fine.
However, now I am trying a test servlet and no matter what I do it gives me a 404. I have a servlet class file called "HelloServlet.class" which I placed into the %install_dir%\webapps\ROOT\WEB-INF\classes directory. I try to reference it using this url:
    http://localhost/servlet/HelloServlet
Tomcat is configured to use port 80 and has been restarted after adding the servlet class file. Does anyone have a clue why this is not working for me?
    Many thanks
    Marc

You have to add in the web.xml file that it is in the WEB-INF dir, the information about your servlet. An example:
    <web-app>
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>HelloServlet</servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>HelloServlet</servlet-class>
    </servlet>
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>HelloServlet</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/HelloServlet</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    </web-app>

  • Misc questions about DFS

Hi, I'm a newbie in DFS and I have several questions about DFS that I hope somebody could answer me:
    1. Introduction/theory/basic stuff:
I've found this webpage "How DFS Works" at https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc782417%28v=ws.10%29.aspx. But looking at its date,
I'm pretty sure it was written for Windows Server 2003.
Is there any updated webpage for Windows Server 2008 or later?
    2. My computers are in a domain/AD 2008 R2.  I'm pretty sure one of the servers is DFS root server.  Are we allowed to have more than one DFS root servers in a domain?
    3. Is there a way (GUI or command line) to list out all DFS root servers?
    4. I'm also reading a white paper on "Microsoft File Server Migration Toolkit" that can be downloaded at http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17959.
In page 16 & 17 of that document, it's written that "DFS consolidation roots" can only be hosted in DFS root server running on one of the followings:
Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition SP2
Windows Server 2003 Datacenter Edition SP2
Windows Storage Server 2003 Enterprise Edition
       Windows Server 2008 Datacenter Edition
Windows Storage Server 2008 Enterprise Edition
Like most people now in year 2015, I'm not going to use version 2003.  That leaves me two choices.  But I actually have a server "Windows Storage Server 2008 R2
Standard Edition" sold by Dell.  Do you think it could work like "Windows Storage Server 2008
Enterprise Edition"?  Otherwise, the only option for me would be to make a "Windows Server 2008 Datacenter Edition"?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
1.Is there any updated webpage for Windows Server 2008 or later?
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc732863%28v=ws.10%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
    2. My computers are in a domain/AD 2008 R2.  I'm pretty sure one of the servers is DFS root server.  Are we allowed to have more than
one DFS root servers in a domain?
You could have more than one DFS root server in a domain.
    3. Is there a way (GUI or command line) to list out all DFS root servers?
We could use the Dfsutil.exe tool to manage the DFS.
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/filecab/archive/2008/06/26/dfs-management-command-line-tools-dfsutil-overview.aspx
    4. Consolidation root just supports run on Windows server 2008 R2 but doesnt support Windows server 2008 R2 as a DFS root.
    Regards.

  • Basic questions about programing for J9 VM

I need to create a java application to run on a Pocket PC 2003 OS and I'm limited to using IBM's Websphere J9 Virtual Machine. I'm new to using java in this capacity and therefore have lots of questions which I'm guessing are pretty basic. Despite my best efforts, I've found very little to help me online. Below are a couple questions I have that I'm hoping someone can help me with. Even better, if you know of any resources that could help me with these and other questions, I'd love to have them. Thanks in advance.
    1. I'm using standard AWT for the GUI but I'm having problems getting frames, dialogs, etc., to come up in anything less then full screen. setSize() and resize() have no effect, even if I extend the frame and override the setMinimumSize, setPreferredSize, setMaximumSize methods. What do I need to do to get a child window to appear in something less than full screen?
    2. I'd like to be able to add menu's to the buttom toolbar (with the keyboard) but have no idea how I would add something to it. Can someone point me in the right direction?
    3. When my application gets an iconified event I go ahead and call a System.exit() to exit the application. This doesn't kill the java VM though, which continues to run in the background (taking up plenty of memory). If I run my application using the J9w.exe so that it runs without the console, then not only does the VM continue to run, but I have no way to stop it (the running program list can't see it). Since each time I run my application it starts a new VM, it only takes a couple of times before I'm out of memory and have to do a soft reset of the PDA to make things right. Can I kill the VM when I kill my application?
    4. I learn best by looking at example code, but have been unable to find any code people are running on J9. I have the GolfScoreTracker installed and running on my PDA, but the jar file contains only the classes. Since it's supposed to be a demo, I had hoped that the source code would be included, is that hoping too much or is the source code available somewhere? In addition, if you know of any applications out there with available source code that are known to run well on a PocketPC J9 environment I'd appreciate the link.

Hi there, I saw your questions, im currently developing a java pocket pc application as well and here's what i go so far:
AWT seem to be hard to use on pocket pc, instead i recommend that you use SWT, which is a technology developed by eclipse. It's already installed on the eclipse plugins, you just need to download the jar and dll files for the pocket pc. They are available at: http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/index.php
I assume that you already have the J9 working on your device. So you only need to copy the SWT.jar file and the swt-win32-3064.dll to the folder containing the .class files on your device.
Now, on your java IDE(im using eclipse) Add the SWT.jar library to your project which should be on C:/eclipse/plugins/org.eclipse.swt.win32_3.0.2/ws/win32/swt.jar or something like taht depending on your eclipse root.
Now you are ready to code some SWT, here is a sample program from Carolyn MacLeod, i modified a few things so it could run on the pocket pc but it's almost the same. Once you coded in eclipse run it, then copy the class file from your desktop to your device(There should be like 4 or 5 classes like sample.class, sample$1.class etc. copy all of them) where you put the jar and dll files(If program does not run you may try to rename the dll file for swt-win32-3050.dll instead of 3064.dll). Now after you have everything set up you need to create the lnk file in order to run the program. On your desktop create a new textfile and write the following on it:
    255#"\Archivos de Programa\J9\PPRO10\bin\j9w.exe" "-jcl:PPRO10" "-cp" "\My
    Documents\Java\swt.jar" ;\My Documents\Java" sample
Paths depend on your install, and the place where you put your classes and jar file. path for j9w is usually "\Program Files\J9\PPRO10\bin\j9w.exe", and the last word should be the classname.
Currently this form only displays an image on a canvas, click on the browse button and choose a pic and it will display on the canvas. Im trying to connect the form to an oracle database but no success yet on the device.
Hope it helps, if you have any questions about the code or something, and I know the answer, please feel free to ask.
    See ya

  • Question about the new Yoga 10 HD+

    Hi
A few questions about the new Yoga 10 HD+ which I hope you can answer.
I bought the old model last year. Loved the design and long battery time but a few major issues made me return it.
Somewhere I read that it can't read NTFS over USB so I presume that's the same with an NTFS formatted microSD card?
Can it read exFAT formatted microSD cards?
Anyone observed issues regarding audio over bluetooth?
(I know BT isn't exactly High End HiFi but the old Yoga 10 for some odd reason - most likely a driver issue which nobody cared to fix - sounded *much* worse with quite noticeably distortion while both my phone and a cheap noname tablet I have zero fidelity issues - no matter which of my bluetooth audio devices I tried aptX or not)
So to avoid buying this only to return it too I really would like to see if I can have my questions answered before buying it.
While I love the form factor and long running time the above issues are just two mayor dealbreakers to me. Bad audio quality = no joy listening to spotify, local MP3s etc. No NTFS or exFAT = no large movies.
My old noname android tablet really could use an upgrade so I'm really curious whether this can be it or I should look at the competition and sacrify form factor and battery runtime.
    Thanks in advance.
    EDIT:
If it's not supporting either NTFS or exFAT on the microSD have anyone tried ext3 and/or ext4?
I mean with Androids Linux roots it should be a nobrainer to support at least when it comes to royalties unlike NTFS or exFAT where there *might* be some issues with Microsoft.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Thanks!
OK. Seems I should just stay clear of this and look elsewhere
Sony for sure I know support exFAT. I'm usure about Samsung. Odd it seems so hard to find out. File sizes of +4 GB should be taken for granted - it's not 199x anymore...
Oh well. Wonder whether to just go for one from the competition or perhaps just save the money and wait until 64 bit catches on. Rumors is that the next Nexus 8 will be 64 bit... (I really don't expect an answer on this)

  • N00b question about the ABS

Hey, I am new to Arch and I'm about to install it on my machine (used it a bit in a virtual machine) and I have a small nooby question about the ABS.
    According to the wiki: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Arch_Build_System
"Running abs as root creates the ABS tree by synchronizing with the Arch Linux server."
Does this mean that the ABS tree (not the package) is always downloaded from the official Arch Linux servers, never from any of the mirrors?

    jomasti wrote:
ANOKNUSA wrote:makepkg is part of the abs package.
You might be confusing that with makeworld. makepkg is included with pacman.
Anyway, gregor, you are confusing the AUR with ABS. Although, what you are saying is still possible via the source files when looking up a package on https://www.archlinux.org/packages/. But with both, using a program or using the respective page is a personal choice.
    Yup, you're right.  My mistake.

And the question is: what is the right way to share forms to users on a production environment (without integration in a portal pages on so on, let it be just a link to a form which users have to fill in)?  I mean, should it be the same link, or it is only for developers need and to share forms to users some other way must be used?

For integrating on custom portal, you would need to integrate with form submit proxy for handling of submission as mentioned @ http://helpx.adobe.com/livecycle/help/mobile-forms/mobile-forms-service-proxy.html.
As far as url of form is concerned, it’s really up you. You can choose to hide the request parameters as couple of other customers are doing. You can find more information about hiding form template and content root from request parameter @ http://blogs.adobe.com/foxes/hide-parameters-from-mobile-form-url/

  • Muvo V200, question about the play m

Hello,I have a question about the play mode on my V200. I want to play the songs in a specific order (like in a playlist) but I don't find the way to do this. Can you help me please ?
    Thanks
(sorry if I don't speak english very well, but I'm french )

    Hi!
To get the tracks to play in a specific order, put numbers at the beginning of each file name. E.g.: file 'examplesong.mp3' would become '0_ examplesong.mp3' Don't spend years doing that manually though; the computer will do it for you! Click on 'my computer', then click on 'Muvo V200 media explorer'.. This shows the contents of your player. Choose the folder that you want to reorder the songs in...
( it's best to put the songs in folders, like you would in a floppy disk, as the muvo can only hold a certain amount in the root directory, and folders are great for organisation - eg: you can put one CD in each folder, and then the player will play all of the tracks in that folder before moving on to the next one )
...and click on it to display the songs. In the pictures along the top of the window, 4th from the right is an icon with a downward facing arrow and an A above a Z. Click on this, it's called 'custom sort'. You can then use the arrows at the bottom to change the order of your tracks to how you want them. Click OK, and they'll all be numbered (and so will play) in that order.
    Hope that helps!

  • CFC's - Question about coding guidelines

I have a question about the following section in the
    CF
    Coding guidelines
    quote:
    {cfmxroot}
---wwwroot/ » web-accessible .cfm pages and .cfc Web
    Services
    ---extensions/
--------components/ » tree for .cfc files
--------customtags/ » tree for .cfm custom tags
--------includes/ » tree for include files
---config/ » tree for configuration files
This implies that we have two Custom Tag Paths set up in the
    CFMX Administrator:
    {cfmxroot}/extensions/components/
    {cfmxroot}/extensions/customtags/
We also have mappings for the root of the includes tree (for
cfinclude) and the custom tags tree (for cfimport):
    /cfinclude » {cfmxroot}/extensions/includes/
    /customtags » {cfmxroot}/extensions/customtags/
    1. Why would you want to add both a custom tag path
    AND a mapping for " {cfmxroot}/extensions/customtags/"?
    2. The guidelines seems to imply you should use a custom tag
path for components, instead of a mapping. If the "components"
directory is already outside the webroot, then adding a CF mapping
shouldn't make it web accessible, right? So is there any benefit to
using a custom tag path versus a mapping?

It is up to you where you put your components and where you
put your custom tags. The standard way, as I know it, at least, is
to create a mapping for your cfc directory on the
Mappings page of the Coldfusion Administrator and to
register the path to your custom tag directory on the
Extensions/Custom Tag Paths page. In answer to your first
question, you will also need to create a mapping for a custom tag
directory if you intend to call tags using the template-attribute
    of cfmodule.
Coldfusion considers the directory-path that you register on
    the
Extensions/Custom Tag Paths page an absolute path. That is
what enables you to call a tag directly by name on any page of your
    application, for example,
    <cf_myCustomTag>.
One consequence is, if you stored a component myComp.cfc in
such a directory, you could instantiate it on any page simply by
    running
    <cfset myObj = createobject("component","myComp")>
However, this doesn't offer anything a mapping wouldn't. So,
in answer to the second question, I don't think one should use a
custom tag path for components. Mixing one's custom tags with one's
components only produces an oil-plus-water structure.

  • Getting Started with CFBuilder - A Question About Project Settings

    Hello All,
I'm just getting my feet wet with CFBuilder and giving it a spin after over a decade's worth of experience with Dreamweaver and I have a question about setting up my work environment.
First of all, I have two computers that I mainly work from.  My home desktop computer, and a laptop for when I'm on the road.  I keep all of my web site project files syncronized between the two computers using Dropbox.
I've noticed that when I create a new project in CFBuilder it stores a few files in my project root like ".project" and "settings.xml".  It looks like "settings.xml" stores information about which CFBuilder web server should be used for the project.  Unfortunately this messes things up for me a bit because on my desktop a web site project url might be:  http://desktop/myProject/ and on my laptop the project url could be http://laptop/myProject.
The reason this isn't a problem in Dreamweaver is because dreamwevaer stores its configuration/preferences outside of my project folders so I can essentially define any testing server I want for both the desktop and laptop.
Is there a way to configure CFBuilder to store project settings outside of the project folder?  Or does anyone have a suggestion for someone like me who syncronizes their project files from their laptop to their desktop?
Thanks in advance for helping out a CFBuilder noob.

I would recommend using a distributed version control system (DVCS) with a hosted service, such as using Git/Mercurial and Github/BitBucket/UnFuddle.  With Git, you can use a .ignore file to specify files/folders that you want to exclude from being stored in version control (I also exclude my CFBuilder project files from my repositories).  You would then sync your local Git repositories with your service of choice, and they would be accessible from any machine.
There are many advantages of using Git and a hosted service over just Dropbox:
Each computer has a complete copy of the code repository, including all code changes over the history of your project.
You store code modifications in "commits", or small entries in the DVCS.
Commits can contain user-defined descriptions that help you identify what you did at each step of your development process
You can roll back commits if you break something in your code.
You can create "branches" of your code when you want to work on a specific feature of your application, and that branch is kept in isolation from other branches until you are ready to merge it back into the main production code branch.
You can have public or private hosted repositories on the various services, enabling you to work with a team or participate in open-source development.
There are Eclipse plugins available for CFBuilder that provide GUI tools for working with Git and hosted repositories (unless you are comfortable with using the command-line to do all your Git interactions).
I don't think you can separate the project settings from the project in CFBuilder.

  • Questions about Installing EBS R12 continued

    Folks,
Hello. This post is the continue for previous post "Questions about Installing EBS R12".
While installing EBS R12 using "./rapidwiz", the Install Wizard gets to "CD Locator - Select root directory of required Rapid Install Disk. Enter location for the disk labeled. Oracle Applications Rapid Install - Database Disk 1"
I browse the directory where Database Disk 1 is located (file name: V15680-01_1of3/oraAPPDB/Disk1). Then click "OK" button, CD Locator Windows come up again and again. The Install Wizard doesn't proceed !
The above issue means some files in stage area directory are corrupted. Thus, I have deleted the stage area directory (zip files and unzipped files) and try to download a fresh EBS R12 from Oracle Edelivery to install again.
Now, the problem is that when I empty trash (EBS_R12) in Oracle Linux 5, the 3 files (V15680-01_1of3.zip, oraAppDB, oraDB) cannot be deleted from the trash, the error message is:
"You don't have permission to modify its parent folder."
The file V15680-01_1of3.zip is Rapid Install Database Disk 1 on which the install Wizard stop while installing EBS R12.
Can any folks help to solve the issue on file "V15680-01_1of3.zip" ?
that is, how to empty it from Trash ? How to have the Wizard go through it when install again ?

Please update the original thread instead of creating new one -- Re: Questions about Installing EBS R12
