Questions for cn=orcladmin superuser password

Hi,
Some questions for cn=orcladmin superuser password:
1. Where is OID superuser (cn=orcladmin) password stored? In OID, or OID DB, or somewhere else?
2. What password policy apply to cn=orcladmin superuser? cn=PwdPolicyEntry in OID?
Metalink not 251354.1 says:
"To change the password policy and hence this behaviour, the Root password policy can be changed. Only the Account Lockout policy entries apply to the cn=orcladmin superuser."
Why only the Account Lockout policy entries? Do other entries of cn=PwdPolicyEntry apply to the superuser account?
3. Does OID Password Policy entry cn=PwdPolicyEntry apply to cn=orcladmin superuser only?
4. Is cn=orcladmin superusers password always the same as ODS schema's pw in asdb?
Thank you for your help.
Xiaoyun

    Hello
I forgot my secret questions for  my account

When selecting passwords, make sure it's one that you will NEVER forget AND no one else can figure out.
Old school--- > Print it out & keep in a safe place.  A place that ONLY you know about AND never forget.
New school---> Get a password manager utility.  Highly recommend 1Password which is shareware.  Do a Google search for free password managers.

The e mail address i used can no longer be accessed
To access the questions way, it requires my ID number
when I input my ID number the response is  ' ID number incorrect! even though I am inputting there correct number
is there any way i can resolve this?

  • I have a new email address and my old email keeps coming up on icloud when trying to update apps and i don't know the password or security questions for the old email. I can sign in with my apple id which is tied to another email but not itunes how to fix

I have an apple id and it has my current email attached to it. however when i go to update apps it's asking for the password for an old email. I no longer have the old email and can't use it. when I go to icloud on my ipad it asks for the password for old email. it doesn't allow me to change the old email to current. when i go to reset it i can't remember the password or security questions for the old email so it doesn't let me go any further. How do I fix this? Do i need to call apple support?

I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account.  I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there.  On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back.  Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email.  The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option?

  • What is the default superuser password for a macbook pro

I created a user account and I am the 'admin'.  When I type 'su' in a terminal window, my password is not accepted.  I also set up a 'master password' and
this is also not accepted as the superuser password.  What can I use for the superuser password or how do I change it?

By default, it's set to an illegal value. Unless the root user has been enabled, nothing will be accepted.

Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Try changing the security on the router. Start with no securty as a test.
    - Restore from backup. See:

  • LDAP design question for multiple sites

LDAP design question for multiple sites
I'm planning to implement the Sun Java System Directory Server 5.2 2005Q1 for replacing the NIS.
Currently we have 3 sites with different NIS domains.
Since the NFS over the WAN connection is very unreliable, I would like to implement as follows:
    1. 3 LDAP servers + replica for each sites.
    2. Single username and password for every end user cross those 3 sites.
    3. Different auto_master, auto_home and auto_local maps for three sites. So when user login to different site, the password is the same but the home directory is different (local).
    So the questions are
    1. Should I need to have 3 domains for LDAP?
    2. If yes for question 1, then how can I keep the username password sync for three domains? If no for question 1, then what is the DIT (Directory Infrastructure Tree) or directory structure I should use?
    3. How to make auto map work on LDAP as well as mount local home directory?
I really appreciate that some LDAP experta can light me up on this project.

    Thanks for your information.
My current environment has 3 sites with 3 different NIS domainname: SiteA: A.com, SiteB:B.A.com, SiteC:C.A.com (A.com is our company domainname).
So everytime I add a new user account and I need to create on three NIS domains separately. Also, the password is out of sync if user change the password on one site.
I would like to migrate NIS to LDAP.
I want to have single username and password for each user on 3 sites. However, the home directory is on local NFS filer.
Say for userA, his home directory is /user/userA in passwd file/map. On location X, his home directory will mount FilerX:/vol/user/userA,
On location Y, userA's home directory will mount FilerY:/vol/user/userA.
So the mount drive is determined by auto_user map in NIS.
In other words, there will be 3 different auto_user maps in 3 different LDAP servers.
So userA login hostX in location X will mount home directory on local FilerX, and login hostY in location Y will mount home directory on local FilerY.
But the username and password will be the same on three sites.
    That'd my goal.
Some LDAP expert suggest me the MMR (Multiple-Master-Replication). But I still no quite sure how to do MMR.
It would be appreciated if some LDAP guru can give me some guideline at start point.
    Best wishes

The instructions on the page that you posted should let you reset them.
i.e. if you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then steps 1 to 5 on that page will let you reset them : go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account, then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you should see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

please i need to reset my security questions for my apple id

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312
If you established a rescue email address, there will be a link on the "Passwords & Security" page of id.apple.com.  Clicking the link will send the reset to your rescue email address (NOTE:  This is not the same address as your Apple ID email)
If there is no link on the page, then you didn't establish a rescue email address.  Contact AppleCare at 800.694.7466, and ask for account security.  You will need to answer some questions to verify your identity, AND you will need access to a computer to generate a temporary support pin.
