Questions on Netting

Dear Gurus,
I have questions on Netting:
(1) As far as I understand, all receipts with respect to PO and all delivery with respect to SO are netted by the Netting document. For financial based netting, since Netting document is doing the netting, do we still need to create billing (VF01) and vendor invoice (MIRO)? If yes, why as the Netting doc is netting it based on the GR and GI ? OR the netting is actually based on the billing and invoice created?
(2) What is the usage of Netting cycle? Why need it?
(3) Netting consists of two areas: (please elaborate further)
        Posting payables or receivables
--> in this case, the payables and receivables are not offset, why need to create Netting doc?
      (ii) Offsetting payables and receivables
--> in this case, payables and receivables are offset with the Netting document.

Please help. Thank you.
Regards,
WL

Netting is based on postings to the Payable and Receivable accounts of your partners.  So you have to create billing doc for the sales and invoice verifications for the purchases.
Exchange netting is setteld through the netting process. The purpose of the netting cycle is to block payments and receipts against induvidual AR and AP postings
SAP gives you two methods for netting:
1. Financial Based Netting - Netting will be based on all AP and AR posting to the exchange partners
2. Movement Based Netting - This will use the movements and only net based only the correspond FI postings (AR and AP). It will list out movements without Financial Postings and Pure financila adjustments separately
Thanks

  • Netting

    Hi,
I have a question regarding netting between customer and vendor.
Netting happens in F110 automatically. Does it clear the customer-vendor open items by line items or by balance. For example, Customer has 5 line items totally $3000(debit balance) and vendor has 4 line items totally $5000. In F110, will it pick all the 9 open items and clear against line items or will it clear against balances..i mean netting happens against balance or individually against line items?
Second question, if the outcome of netting is to pay customer $4000..i mean after netting between customer and vendor the result/output has customer with debit balance 4000, then how does it show up. Does the receivable shows up on AR side and AR can go and collect the money. I am confused here because if the payment method in F110 is "E" Wire transfer and that customer in general (in master data set up) has payment method Direct debit, how will this scenario work?
Please help with this. I need to present a demo to the client.
    Regards,
    Satya

    Hi,
In F110, system will create a payment document and will store that payment document as clearing document in all the lines of customer and vendors which are getting cleared off in netting.
The remaining balance in custom, if it is debit, then AR team can collect the same. However in case you have direct debit payment method, then you can run F11 also for that debit balance of customer and can collect the payment as direct debit from cusotmer account.

how do i make forms and GUI  suit with data that recived from reader of rfid???

    Hello
    nourhan,
from your description, it seems that you are looking for a UI implementation, for this, i afraid this is beyond the scope of our support for this forum which is used to discuss and ask questions about .NET Framework Base Classes (BCL) such as Collections,
I/O, Regigistry, Globalization, Reflection. If you are developing a web form, I suggest you could ask it to the web related forum:
    http://forums.asp.net/
If windoows form app, here is the proper forum:

  • F110 / APP - Docs. entered on 14.04.08 for 31.03.08 not getting cleared

    Hi all,
We are facing a problem while clearing the Invoices / Documents " Entered "on or after 01.04.2008 with a " Posting " date on or before 31.03.2008.
If the invoice is already there i.e. " Posted / Entered " before 31.03.2008 then APP / F110 is picking the open items correctly. But if the item entered today (i.e. on 14.04.2008) with a posting date 31.03.2008 system is not considering that for payment.
Please suggest the ulternative as we are getting the error message "Company Codes ABC/ ABC do not appear in proposal 31.03.2008  6 ; correct" - Message No. FZ003.
    a. I have confirmed that none of the past proposal is in incomplete mode for the subject Vendor which could had blocked the Vendor Line items from making the payment.
    b. No question of Blocking of Invoice in Vendor line item
    c. No question of Net due date
We can make the " Individual payment " through TCode  - F- 53 in the same scenario. But our client want to use Tcode - F110 only for Multiple Vendor clearing.

  • Failed to open the connection. Details: [Database Vendor Code: 53 ]

I'm upgrading one of our applications from Visual Studio 2005 to 2010. In the process I'm also switching our reports to run using Stored Procedures instead of Tables/Views.  Everything runs fine on development machines after all the migration work.  On the server however, it does not work. And I am getting the error message ""
Server is Windows 2003 Server 32 bit.  And yes, I have installed the latest runtimes version 13.0.2000.0 on the server.  There have been no other changes on the server other than to switch the target framework on the website in question from .net 2 to .net 4, and then to modify the web.config file to remove references to the older Crystal Reports and replace with references to the newer version.
I've seen many other threads on this "failed to open the connection" errors but none of them are my problem except there is one post that remains unanswered where someone had the same Database Vendor Code 53.  I don't know what that error means, spent a considerable amount of time researching that before asking this question.
Lastly, it appears that this error only happens when the report is pulling data from a Stored Procedure rather than Tables/Views.  If I re-copy the previous reports, they still work.
The ODBC drivers haven't changed, nor should they. They are fully up to date on that server machine.
I can't think of anything else that would be indicative of anything other than this is a bug.  Here is the error text as it shows up in the event log:

Lots of great info here, except for the database; MS SQL? Oracle? Etc?
Database Vendor Code 53 is an error code that the CR engine simply passes straight from the database it's self. E.g.; look at your database error code and you should be able to find a verbose description of the error.
As a test, what happens if you add the report to your project and run it in the CR design part of the .NET IDE?
    - A quick google search of Error 53 (for MS SQL - an assumption) comes up with a number of good hits. E.g.;

  • "The key 'LocalizedPerfCounter' does not exist in the appSettings" when creating Socket

    Hi all,
Some time ago, I've installed the nuGet package for self-hosted signalR applications on a project. Today, I went to start a completely unrelated project, one that does not have that package (or any package at all), and has absolutely nothing to do with owin,
asp.net, signalR or anything else related to that package.
Now in this project, when I try to create a Socket, I get an InvalidOperationException: "The key 'LocalizedPerfCounter' does not exist in the appSettings".
The exception seems to be handled and the program proceeds, but it's annoying.
Also, I'm seriously concerned. Here I'm not trying to create some arcane ASP.NET thing that calls down into a dozen layers and six different configuration frameworks before actually getting to the TCP stack. I'm doing a plain straight new Socket(AddressFamily.InterNetwork,
    SocketType.Stream, ProtocolType.Tcp).
How is it possible for a nuGet package that installs unrelated DLLs to another solution entirely to affect something that resides in the basic System.dll? What business does it have interfering with very low-level network calls?

    Hello Zappo,
For this InvalidOperationException, please check this hotfix to see if you are under those scenario:

    >> How is it possible for a nuGet package that installs unrelated DLLs to another solution entirely to…
For this, since it is related with the NuGet, I suggest that you could post it to the NuGet forum,

  • Issues to Configure SAML ,I tried alot but its not working ,Below Given instruction how to configure SAML

    SAML Overview
Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) is an XML-based standard for exchanging authentication and
authorization data between security domains, that is, between an identity provider (a producer of assertions)
and a service provider (a consumer of assertions). SAML is a product of the OASIS Security Services
    Technical Committee.
SAML is relevant to those customers who already have a SAML implementation in use with other systems in
their organization. Therefore, it is recommended you engage your technology team that has a working
knowledge of SAML and provide this document to them for their review.
    Key Roles
    • Identity Provider (IDP): The system in authority that provides the user information
    • Service Provider (SP): The system that trusts the asserting party’s information, and uses the data to
provide an application to the user.
    • Subject: The user and their identity that is involved in the transaction.
Note! In our context, Learning Maestro is the SP, the IDP is customer-specific, and the Subject is the user
    who is logged in.

    Implementing SAML 2.0
    • SumTotal LMS supports only SAML 2.0 Standards.
    • We support only IDP-initiated SAML authentication.
    • The SAML Response should be signed and base64 Encoded.
    • UserName should be passed in NameID element under Assertion\Subject Keys.
    • We use the timestamp provided in IssueInstant attribute of SAML Assertion to find the valid period
(+/- 5 min ) for the SAML Response.
    • Currently, we do not support signed or encrypted assertions.
    • Deep linked URLs can be passed through an additional URL parameter of “OriginalURL.”
    IDP Initiated Web SSO

    4
When Learning Maestro is Accessed from a Portal
    1. The user logs into the customer portal.
    2. The user clicks on a link to the LMS from the customer’s portal.
    3. The link points to an IDP page.
    4. The IDP pages posts an HTTP Request to Learning Maestro
    5. The request is an < ... > message.
Typical Structure of a SAML Response
    • Below is the typical SAML Response received by LMS from IDP
    • Value of SAMLResponse parameter should be base64 Encoded.
Please double-click to open the below XML file to view how the response looks after decoding:
    ExampleSuccessfulAssertion.xml

    Configuring SAML 2.0
SumTotal Maestro supports SAML 2.0 for the “Identity Provider Initialized SSO” protocol.
To configure your Maestro domain to accept SAML 2.0 Assertions, the following steps must be taken:
    1. Confirm that Usernames are in sync
    2. Provide an X.509 Certificate to SumTotal Systems (SHA1 Hashed)
SumTotal Systems will configure your environment with the X.509 cert you provide.
    3. Point your call to the following URL:
    https://gm1.geolearning.com/geonext/<your_domain>/saml.geo
After authenticating to your Identity Provider, the provider will pass a user into Maestro IF:
    • The user has a username matching an existing Maestro username
    • The x509 certificates match on both sides
If authentication fails, the user will be presented with a failure page.
    Assertions
An optional assertion is available to specify the URL a user will be sent if there is an authentication error.
    ErrorRedirectURL Assertion
    • If ‘ErrorRedirectURL’ is not specified and an authentication error or other security exception
occurs it will redirect the user to the default secerror.geo page as it does today
    • If a value (URL) is specified for ‘ErrorRedirectURL’ and there is an authentication error the user
will be redirected to the URL specified

    FAQs
    Question Answer
What .NET library are we using? SumTotal uses “Componentspace” net SAML 2.0 library
Can users still log in via the login page? Yes. The SAML target page is different than the login page.
Can we deep link into the LMS through
    the SAML 2.0 authentication workflow?
Can I get rid of the Logout button?
What is the Session timeout setting? Session Hard Life and Idle Life settings can be configured in
What is the unique ID for SAML? The “username” field.
Yes. “Deep Link Target” (target or original URL parameter) is
accepted. If none is provided, then it will default to the default
landing page as configured in Maestro.
Yes, When using SAML, the logout button still exists
intentionally in the navigation but can be disabled in the
    “configure Navigation” options.
the security section of the administration interface of Maestro.
What is the failure page if
    Authentication fails?
If the authentication fails, by default an intentionally simple error
is presented to the user stating “Authentication Failure”.
For security purposes, no further information regarding the
specifics of the failure are defined to the user.
An optional ErrorRedirectURL assertion can be used.
What URL do we point to? https://gm1.geolearning.com/geonext/<your_domain>/saml.geo

  • Export data from a table to text file using srcipt task

    Hi
    i am new to SSIS
i have to export data from a table and append it into a existing file through SSIS script task
    please help
    Thanks
    Umesh

    Hi Umesh,
The data structure of the source table and the structure of the destination file are the same, right? Is the destination file a flat file? Do you have to do it through Script Task? If the destination file is a flat file, this can be done easily by using
the stock tasks/components other than .NET code. In the Data Flow Task, we choose the appropriate source adapter (such as OLE DB Source or ADO.NET Source) to extract data from the source table, perform transformation if necessary, and then load to the destination
file via a Flat File Destination. When setting up the Flat File Destination, uncheck the “Overwrite data in the file” option so that the extracted data will be appended to the existing file.
If you need to implement it through Script Task/Component indeed, you may benefit from the following code examples:

    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8467326/add-header-and-footer-row-flat-file-ssis
If you need further help about the script, I suggest that you ask a new question in .NET forums where you can get more dedicated support:

  • Consuming Web Service using WS-Security: USERNAME Token

    Hi ABAP Experts,
we like to consume a self defined web service between to SAP systems (ECC6 701/006). Without any security settings the connection is successfully.  But we like to setup a message security like USERNAME Token.
The wss profiles are already created by using TX: WSSPROFILE. Therefore we used the templates "SET_USERNAME" and "CHECK_USERNAME". The service user "DELAY_L<sid>" has been generated as well. The problem is in SOAMANAGER we can't find the related configuration (For Provider and Consumer) to set the parameters "PROFILE In" and "Profile Out" like it was in the obsolete TX "LPCONFIG".
Can anybody help me to find out how to configure USERNAME Token using SOAMANAGER.
Thank you very much in advance.
    Kind regards
    Axel

  • [Windows 8.1 Desktop/Surface/Phone] connect client app to synchronization service(s)

    Hello Everybody!
I have to do some research about:  what is the best way to set up my project, I am new to Azure.
    Situation:
I need to develop a service(s) and client app(s) that are able to synchronize data with each other: files and database changes. the client app(s) must have the capability  to work online / offline,  offline: when there is no internet connection
the data has to be stored local on the client device(s) and sync it later when there is active internet connection.
    Client Devices:
    Windows 8.1 (Windows 8.1 PC/Desktop)
Windows 8.1 RT (Windows 8.1 Surface tablet)
    Windows Phone 8.1 (Windows 8.1 Smart-phone)
We prefer to create the clients as a C# Store App Application.
    Service:
This might become , if technically possible and preferable, a Azure service who main task it is to manage the communication between the server and the clients
Last days I spend my time doing research about how to get this done right.
I found several interesting techniques, some of got all the features I needed, and some just a few, but most of them aren't supported on one or more devices.
    Microsoft Synchronization Framework
      Sync Toolkit WinRT / Phone
     Live SDK
Microsoft Synchronization Framework - got all the features I need but is not supported on Win RT and Phone
Sync Toolkit WinRT / Phone - Only Database Sync, is got bad documentation and unknown if supported on Desktop
Live SDK - Libraries to integrate with OneDrive, Only File Sync
    Questions:
Does Azure support all the devices?
Is Azure supported in  C# Windows 8.1 Store Apps?
Is Azure suited to host a service I described?
    Thanks in advanced!

    Hi JelteV,
    Thanks for posting!
Base on my experience, if you wan to synchronize data with each clients. I suggest you could refer to this solution:
1.Create a Sql Azure Database or storage account for storing your data
2.Create a WCF service (web role or work role ) for communication between Client and Database
3.Set Up Table Structure (Important). I suggest you could add the deviceID and userID to distinguish the different data source. And add fields such as 'status', 'create time', 'latest update time' and so on.
For example, you client insert a record into local database and set the 'status' as ‘stay update’ or '1'. When your client connect the database and synchronize the data to server, you could set the 'status' as 'updating' or '2' . After
synchronization  data, you could change the status as 'updated' or '3'.
According to this idea, the client CRUD -> change the local state code
-> Sync data -> change the local state code ->
synchronization is complete -> change the local state code .If the mobile device need operate the data on the service , it also need to change the server status code to be updated, to be deleted (deleted should
be treated differently), the next time the client login server automatically checks the "state" as "pending action" and then synchronize the server to the client. So whether it is operating on a local table, or on the side of the direct
operation of the service, you can ensure that the data is synchronized two tables.
    >>Does Azure support all the devices?
    >>Is Azure supported in  C# Windows 8.1 Store Apps?
    >>Is Azure suited to host a service I described?
From your question, I think you could create a WCF service host on azure, and call WCF service form different devices. And this method is supported the different device and win8.1 store app.
    Also, please see this thread:
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/14595738/net-data-synchronization-between-multiple-clients-and-a-central-server
    Hope this helps.

  • How to use relative DSN filename for connection (in Design mode)

    Hello,
I connect Crystal Reports to Oracle database via ODBC with connection information stored in DSN file.
I use "Crystal Reports Basic" in Visual Studio 2008 SP1. CR has no SP. Windows XP Pro SP3, my development machine.
I created a DSN file, and in Database Expert I'm creating a new ODBC connection and trying to fill the File DSN.
But, the file name is absolute, and I need to use file name relative to the report file, because I want several programmers and several reports to share the connection parameters. This would also simplify the deployment.
When I try to copy the DSN file to the solution folder and use just the relative path, then a error is reported:
    Logon failed.
Details: HY000 General Error: Invalid file DSN
which probably means that the file could not be found.
This problem does not exist in runtime, as the connection string could be set programmaticaly.
Does Crystal Reports accept relative DNS file name?
If does not, are there any other possibilites to achieve this?

If still an issue post your question the .NET SDK forum.
