  • PI7.1 upgrade Question

    Hi Gurus
    We are moving IR and ID objects from PI7.0 to PI7.1 both are on different SLDs. While moving ID scenarios to PI7.1, is there a way where Business Systems are automatically converted to target required Business systems in PI7.1.. Just as happens when we move scenarios from Dev to QA to Prod. Like Business System BS_Dev becomes BS_QA in quality.
    Right now we are exporting and importing scenarios which makes us edit them again to point new business systems in PI7.1. Can we set up this using File Transport or CMS or CTS or CTS+. Hope my question is clear

    We need to know if application developed and transported from PI7.1 is
    compatible with EHP1?
    Below are the Components used by the application .
    1) SSL communication using SOAP adapter
    2) Java mapping , Graphical mapping , XSLT mapping
    3) Customised EJB modules
    4) Adapter framework
    5) ALE layer for IDoc communication from ERP to PI
    6) RFC lookups to PI system and ERP system.
    Questions
    1)Will PI EHP1 be able to communicate with PI7.1 using SOAP adapter ?
    2) What is the difference between SAP NW PI7.1 and PI7.1 EHP1 ?

    A new concept is available for setting up a high availability environment for SAP NetWeaver Process Integration (PI). To do this, you need SAP Web Dispatcher for load balancing, and you must reconfigure your HTTP, RFC, and RMI connections so that they can be used for load balancing. You must also make various configuration steps in other components of your PI environment.

  • Changes to sapxmltoolkit.jar from PI7.0 to PI7.1

    Hi.
    This question is about "XSLT Mapping with Java Enhancement".
    We have build numerous interfaces that uses java functions in a XSL mapping.
    This works fine in PI7.0, but when porting to PI7.1 it stops to work.
    SAP gives examples how to make this work:
    PI7.0: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/55/7ef3003fc411d6b1f700508b5d5211/frameset.htm
    PI7.1: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/83/2200cb50d345c793336d9a1683163e/frameset.htm
    The examples are identical, but again, it dosnt work on PI7.1.
    In PI7.1 the sapxmltoolkit.jar has been renamed to "sap.comtcsapxmltoolkit~sapxmltoolkit.jar". Trying to use the xsl process on standard XSLT transformations work fine.
    When trying the mentioned PI7.1 example, it throws an exception (TransformerConfigurationException), with the following Error Message: "ERROR:  'The first argument to the non-static Java function 'concat' is not a valid object reference."
    When trying with the PI7.0 sapxmltoolkit.jar, it works like a charm!
    Hope someone can help resolve this problem...
    Regards...
    Peter

    Hi Stefan.
    Thanks for a quick reply.
    It works now.
    Wonder how I missed that check button

  • PI7.1 JMS Adapter - connect to NW6.40

    Hello,
    We are facing following problem on SAP PI:
    We have a scenario where PI (version 7.1) is connecting to another SAP NetWeaver system (version 6.40).  There is an application that reads/puts messages from/to JMS Queues running on this system. PI has to connect the JMS Provider of 6.40 system and read/put these messages from/to these JMS Queues.
    This scenario worked fine till we used XI 3.0 (NW6.40). We configured sender JMS channel with link to remote JMS Server and parameter "force_remote".
    After installation of new PI7.1 we noticed some issues:
    1.the connection is unstable. Sending JMS messages from PI to NW6.40 queue works a while but then we get error like this:
    Adapter Framework caught exception: Unable to write new JMS message body for message: 00237d29-13fc-02ed-ba85-01d046631592: ConnectorException: Connector for ConnectionProfile of channel: EON_CC_jms_rcv_omsmessageon node: 922834950 having object id: 70855b1c6c483e869982ea2fe9787b36 was unable to create a new javax.jms.TextMessage message: javax.jms.IllegalStateException: Session is closed.
    2. we cannot read messages from JMS Queue of NW6.40 at all. The messages are there in queue, communication channel is running and succesfully connected to queue but no message is processed and no error shows in communication channel monitoring.
    Has anybody solve similar problem with connection between 7.1 and 6.40 NetWeaver?
    I think the problem can be backward incompatibility of 7.1 SAP JMS libraries against 6.40. If this is true then the question is whether it is possible to deploy old libraries and run them simultaneously with native 7.1 libraries?
    Thanks

    problem sorted - factory property settings were not configured correctly in JMS Adapter connection pool

  • CE Installation Vs AS Java on PI7.1 ??

    We want to use NW BPM & BRM Capabilities. I understand that these capabilities come with CE7.1 & CE7.1 is AS Java 7.1.
    PI7.1 has also AS JAva 7.1. Hence can i use PI's AS Java server to run my BPM or would the rumtime compain anything like about missing .sda's or runtime not for BPM/BRM not available??  I used to develop & deploy Java WD apps  to PI server & they always ran perfect... No complains...
    What additional components should i deploy on AS Java 7.1 to make it run NW-BPM/BRM scenario's..  We just don't want to have too many AS Java App servers in our SANDBOX landscape.
    -Siva Maranani

    I have found anwer to my Question... Plain AS Java Dosen't come with "Additional Capabilities" that are provided by CE Environment... "CE Installation Master Guide" - Pages 8-10 have the answer to the above Question...
    Also BPM/BRM capabilities are provided as part of CE 7.1 EhP1 or CE 7.1.1...

  • Idoc packaging questions

    Hi
    I am aware that in Idoc packaging how Sender Idoc adapter packaging is done and also know that it is available from PI7.11
    I have 2 questions...
    1. Suppose there is a data issue with a single idoc ,,because of that entire package will fail...then it would call for finding the erroneous idoc ...correct the data and resend all the Idocs again..
      This problem can occur again and again...and because of this the entire package will be stopped..
    So is it a good option to not do packaging and send a single Idoc and insert it as a record in target database.
    2. In case i am doing idoc packaging the occurence of IDOC in mapping will still be 1..1.
        How do i manage my mapping such that each Idoc in the package should insert a separate record in the database table
    Hema

    Map IDoc to access tag, in this case one record for each IDoc will get inserted.

  • JDBC-- PI7.0-- SAPBI with Proxy

    Hi Experts,
    I have a requirement like this : JDBC(Sql Server)>PI7.0>SAPBI.
    I need a suggestions from the above requirement. For this requirement I am planning to use sender as a JDBC Adapter and Reciver as Proxy. I have some questions on this requirement.
    1) I need to extract data with more than 15 tables of Sql server data base. Is it possible to extract all data at a time, If yes plase give me some tips.
    2) How to combined all 10 extracted tables data into as a Proxy. Please provide some inputs. or it better each table as a one XML file like this....
    Lastly one more question is, what is best process for the above requirement either Proxy or IDOc's.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Chandra.

    Hi Chandra,
    In addition to the above responses you can follow the approach as:
    1. Discuss with your DB team and find out what is the average number of records to be selected from each table on each run of the interface.
    2a. If the number of records are large then its better to go for separate interface for separate tables.
    2b. If the number of records are limited say 15-20 then you can work either with a single staging table or a stored procecdure after discussing with the DB team what they can agree to.
    3a. In case of a single staging table:
    i. Create a data type similar to the staging table fields.
    ii. Generate a proxy accordingly.
    [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/7e/5df96381ec72468a00815dd80f8b63/frameset.htm]
    3b. In case of stored procedure
    i. Ask the DB team to include a single Select querry with in the Stored Procedure, and also to include a update querry to update the read records once called by Stored Procedure/ DELETE the read records.
    ii. In the JDBC sender adapter in the field Query SQL Statement write the querry as as: EXEC "Stored Procedure Name" ("Parameters if any").
    iii. In this case your Sender Data type structure should be same as the structure being called by the Select query with in the stored proc. or in other words the sequence followed in the Select query should be same in the sender DT.
    iv. Generate a proxy accordingly.
    [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/7e/5df96381ec72468a00815dd80f8b63/frameset.htm]
    Note: Proxy is always better in this case upon IDOC. If asked by business or BI team you can as well go with RFC keeping in consideration the load/no. of records. In case of bigger messages Proxy is always better being a adapter less communication.
    Hope this helps you.

  • PI7.0 and 7.1 certification

    Hi  Experts,
             This is a question to all those who know about PI7.0 and 7.1 certification.I wish to know , the BIT402 and 403, are they some study material/ soft/hard copy or some kind of hands on training.
    Please tell me because some body told me , they dont exist, but actually a training provided by SAP certified study centers.
    I also wish to know, during e - learning, do they provide, any soft copy VIDEOS ,, for self learning/ training.?
    Pls let me know.
    Regards,
    Arnab.

    Hi Krisha,
                  Hav you appeared / planning to appear for any PI certification [ Associate developer TYBIT40_71 ]  .  before providing me with a link, i guess, you looked at the question properly. The link that  you have provided me is a forum question placed by me itself, sometime ago.
    My query is , in PI7.1 / 7.0 certification , there is a TBIT called BIT402 and BIT403....My query was, like TBIT40, does it exist as Hard / soft copies,, or is it actually a HANDS ON TRAINING.
    I hav gone through al SAP site information. So if there is any 1 who has done the traing/ certification, reply me based on your experience.

  • FTPs ON SSL in PI7.1?

    Hello All,
    In PI7.1 i think  FTPS (FTP using SSL/TLS) is enable, as i can see in adapter one option connection security in that we can select FTPS.
    so my question is its already there in PI7.1 so no need to deploy any SAP Java cryptographic toolkit  and Add the CA certificate to the key storage.
    if iam wrong please suggest me.
    if any worked on PI7.1 on FTPS, please let me know.
    Thanks,
    chinna

    Thanks for the reply.
    What exactly is this certificated to the keystore
    where we can find and where we need to deploy.
    Please tell me clearly.iam new to XI and i have to tell the client side to do this all.
    so i need to explain them exactly what to do from there side.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Again, ask the question of export parameter.

    Again, ask the question of export parameter.
    I wrote a java version transformation and it worked good with export parameter.
    However I can not work it out in graphical message mapping. I refered http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/43/c3e1fa6c31599ee10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm.
    In PI7.1, I add an export parameter "EXPORT_PARA" in the "Signature" tab. Are there any special step to assign this parameter to an UDF? I did not find a way to do it.
    And then I define an UDF,
    public String SetExportPara(String sss, Container container) throws StreamTransformationException{
    String str = "GOOD";
    GlobalContainer gc = container.getGlobalContainer();
    OutputParameters paras= gc.getOutputParameters();
    if(paras.exists("EXPORT_PARA ") == true) {
    paras.setString("EXPORT_PARA ", str);
    }else {
    str = "NOT FOUND EXPORT_PARA";
    return str;
    And I assign this UDF to one element of my output XML, I tried to run it in IE, it always output "NOT FOUND EXPORT_PARA.
    why?????
    I know there is a blog : https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/8654. [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken]
    But it did not talk how to set export parameters.

  • Checklist : Upgrade PI7.0 to PI7.3

    Hi All,
            We are going to upgrade our PI systems from 7.0 to 7.3. Basis team has reviewed some PI7.3 upgrade documentation and came up with the below questions. Can you please help me on how to check/verity these items?
    Prior to the upgrade starting there needs to be at least one package in the customer namespace (Z*).      Would you please verify there is or do this?
    Also,  on the PI systems...
    Has <my company name> made any modifications to the JAVA stack?
    Has <my company name> created any Customer-Specific Translations?
    Has <my company name> made any ABAP modifications?
    Thanks,

    Hi Raj,
         Below is the complete mail I received from BASIS team. I downloaded the two SAP notes and implemented in my PI development system. Correct me if i'm wrong here, since the two OSS notes are related to ABAP side, I think we need to take care ABAP side also. Also, in my previous reply I was asking about item '2'.
    Mail received from Basis:
    In reviewing the PI 7.3 upgrade documentation the following two OSS Notes need to be applied to  PI Development system  prior to starting the upgrade:
                           1468467 - Sequence problem during DROP/CREATE of indexs
                           1518145 - FM DD_DB_MISSING_OBJECTS returns incorrect no. of objects.
    Would you please arrange for the above two notes to be applied and let us know when that work is done?
    Prior to the upgrade starting there needs to be at least one package in the customer namespace (Z*). Would you please verify there is or do this?
    Also,  on the PI system....
    1. Has <company name> made any modifications to the JAVA stack?

  • Use of AI_DIRECTORY_JCOSERVER in PI7.0

    Hi All,
    There is one small doubt.
    As per my knowledge, In PI7.0 for RFC's we don't have any use of AI_DIRECTORY_JCOSERVER, only AI_RUNTIME_JCOSERVER does the task.
    Now my question is :
    What is the use of AI_DIRECTORY_JCOSERVER in PI7.0. Is it used the same way as that it was used in XI3.0.
    Regards,
    Rookie

    this is all part of your preparation activities of the XI server - http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/be/6e0f41218ff023e10000000a155106/content.htm
    As per my understanding you require all the destination listed in the link for PI 7.0 also.

  • What shall be the SLD step in PI7?

    During PI7  isntall, on the configure SLD screen, there are two radiobuttos -
    default being - Register in Existing SLD
    other one     - Configure SLD.
    On the same screen SAP tells to leave it default.
    But the question is - if the system is being installed for the first time and there is not SLD already availble, will it not be the secod Radiobutton of "CONFIGURE SLD"?
    Thanks,
    Ven
