Questions on Report Builder and Graphics Builder

Hi there:
I'm currently using Report/Graphics builder V 6.0.8.11.3 NT version to create RDF and OGD files.
I was wondering with the following confusions:
1) Is the RDF/OGD file that I create under NT plat form portable to Sun Unix?? (ie. would Report Server for Sun understand this NT RDF/OGD file?)
2) Is/will there a Sun solaris version of Report/Graphic Builder?? And would RDF/OGD file be compatible for both NT and Sun plat form??

The answer to both your questions is yes. the rdf and ogd are portable to the solaris version of reports and graphics which you can download from http://technet.oracle.com/products/reports/ on the software tab.

Calling graph from Reports created in graphics builder?

Can you call a graph from Reports 6.0 that was created in Graphics Builder. I know you can call a graph from Forms. I tried creating my graph right in Reports with the wizard but for some reason it does not give me the fields I want to use in the available fields column, so I created the graph in Graphics Builder. Do you use a trigger of some sort. Any examples would be appreciated if this is possible. Thanks

Yes, you can call a graph from inside a report. All you need to do is select the button with the graph on it (not the icon with the wand, which indicates chart wizard). Then draw graph in the area of the report where you want the graph to display. After completing this, right click on graph, select Property Palette, Chart - Chart Filename (this is where you will type in the directory and filename of your graph that you created in Oracle Graphics).

Difference between Build and Release Build

Hi,
I was curious if some one could guide me to an article/discussion where I can understand the difference between normal build of a Flex project and release build of the same using Flash Builder 4.5.
I am currently writing an ANT script for my project and I have completed the script to Build the project. But I would like to know, how to achieve a release build of my application using ANT.
I googled on the same but could not find anything constructive which can explain the exact difference between the two builds.

Reports 9i and Graphics Wizard questions - Upgrade from 6i

Hello,
I am trying to convert my 6i reports to 9i and I have a lot of questions. First, it is my understanding that if we want the reports in the 9i format I will have to recreate all of my graphs. Is this right? Second, when I run the graphics wizard with a report that has multiple queries, it is not retreiving from the query selected in the wizard. Also, with the new graphics wizard can you reuse graphs? I currently have 5 reports that point to the same 2 ogd files. Will I now have to go in and build the same graph 6 times? Finally, if you could point me to some good documentation, I would appreciate it. I have around 30 reports with graphs on them, so if anyone has any suggestions that will make this easier, please let me know.

First, You can run the 6i reports with OGD in reports 9i, provided you have your Oracle 6i home is in system path
and the regsitry variable ORACLE_GRAPHICS6I_HOME is set to pint your 6i oracle home
Now, if you wan to open these 6i report with OGD and modify the report in 9i builder, then the OGDs are loast when saving this reports from 9i
buikder, so you would need to recreate the graphs using the graph wizard

Segment builder and Graphical Modeler

Hello I have not been able to find any assistance with following issue.
I am trying to create a target group from the Web UI. I have followed the basic steps logging into Marketing Professional
Marketing -> Segement - Name and Save Profile Set then click Graphical Modeler.
I then choose from the Arrtribute list and create my filter - I try to drop and drag my filter in the work area so I will be able to right click to create target group the problem is nothing appears in the work are - I don't get the little people.
After this didn't work I save my information within the Graphical Modeler and went back to Profile set. I then tried to pull the filter I created and saved in the Graphical Modeler through the Profile Assignment block. But when I searched for the filter it is not listed.
Does any one know how to resolve this issue and any assistance will be helpful?

The solution for the problem is as follows,
When you upgrade to JRE 1.6 version 19 patch 4, in the graphical modeler, the filter drag and drop doesnot work. In this case,    add the following line in you JAVA POLICY file.
    permission java.awt.AWTPermission "accessClipboard","read,write";
    you can find the POLICY file in the path:
       C:\Program Files\Java\<JAVA VERSION>\lib\security

Coldfusion Builder and Flash Builder 4 Premium

I am not sure should this question go in Flex forum or ColdFusion.
I am going to buy the ColdFusion builder which come with the Flash Builder 4 Standard. And I need to have Flash Builder 4 Premium. So should i buy the upgrade which is US$499 or should i but the full Flash Builder 4 Premuim for US$699?

With that, I will continue to march foward with what tools I do have; I just didn't want to waste time if the end result wasn't going to work.

Having a problem with Flash Builder and Extension Builder - images not apearing on Mac system

Have a panel created in Flash Builder 4.5 with Extension Builder 2.1. Everything is fine when installed on a PC but when installed on a Mac the images in the panel do not show.
Mac and PC both using Adobe Photoshop CC . Both installed from same .ZXP file using Adobe Extension Manager CC.
Any ideas?

No I used relative path - the path is images/image name
example images/cRight.png
tried downloading Extension Builder 2.1 and compiling on Mac but still have same results - images show up fine in design window , but not when running panel in Photoshop
Created a new project: testImage
added an image component to form
answered yes to add asset to project
ran project
image did not show up in Photoshop
went back to project
checked item Embed under Common image properties
ran project and image shows up
Looks like it works if I add @Embed("assets/image name") on Mac to display images

Question about Ivy Bridge and graphics

Does Ivy bridge CPUs provide great graphics performance?
For basic CS6 rendering, iMovie and soft gaming, an Ivy Bridge MacBook Pro / Air with HD4000 could be the right choice?
In other words, is it worth to get a 15" or the retina for these kind of stuff?
In the past, I had to chose between a GMA and a dedicated card which represented a big upgrade. What about now?
One more thing. I guess the MBP 13" would soon have a retina model too. What about the graphics? I read that HD4000 can handle retina resolution... is it really that powerful?

For basic CS6 rendering, iMovie and soft gaming, an Ivy Bridge MacBook Pro / Air with HD4000 could be the right choice?
I run WoW on my 2011 "off the shelf" Air - 1.7Ghz 4GB RAM *Intel 3000* - runs very reasonably for a light-medium gamer such as myself. 40-60FPS on "fair" settings.
Intel HD 4000 is reportedly around 60% faster than 3000.
Based on this, if my 2011 Air runs WoW this well, I'd say a 2012 Air/13 Pro with Intel 4000 and (strongly recommended) 8GB RAM would see significantly higher performance.
One more thing. I guess the MBP 13" would soon have a retina model too. What about the graphics? I read that HD4000 can handle retina resolution... is it really that powerful?
If Intel 4000 (and even 3000) can handle a 2560x1600 Thunderbolt display I would have no doubt it would handle a 13" retina display which would probably have a similar sized resolution.
This being said, playing games in retina mode with Intel graphics would probably be a no.

Two naive questions: change report templates and customization.

I searched the forum but didn't have the luck to find the exact answer.
1) I've chosen the alternating row color template for one of my report, however I wanted to change it to another template, say standard. Is it possible, and where I may find the place to change?
2) Is there a tutorial of how to customize the row color depends upon the value dynamically? Like an OBE. An elaborated example will be great!

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, based on this statement from the one link:
"Several macros in Sun ONE Studio IDE cannot be edited (for example, DATE, TIME, NAME of class, PACKAGE, etc.)."
It would appear there is no way to alter the timestamp format.
The question still remains of is there a way to access the year for a copyright stamp? If anyone else has any input, it would be appreciated.

Equium M40x-189: Question about the HDD and graphic card upgrade

Hi folks just a few quick questions.
1. can a second hard drive be fitted to the afore mentioned notebook?.....it came with a 60gb HDD
2.can a graphics card such as an ati or geforce mobile/go be fitted instead of the onboard graphics?

As was said before, there is no way to install a 2nd harddrive physically on the machine without it being external. And this model does not have a seperate video card, it is integrated on the motherboard. Which means it would not be possible to upgrade it. Unfortunate as it is, best you can do is increase shared memory in bios and under your virtual memory settings. The Qosmio series from Toshiba does include a 2nd hard drive bay for 2 hdd's though, as well as some have seperate video cards so you can even possibly upgrade those as well. But not the Equium M40x. My requirement is: SAP upgrade from 4.6B to ECC 6.0 with non-unicode.
1.Does SAP upgrade influence the report painter? If influence, could you tell me what should I do for this case.
2. We have so many queries (SQ01) in our system and many of them haven't been run for a long time. we need a tool to get the runtimes of queries in a certain durition.
For example: From 2008/01/01 to 2008/03/31,I want to know how many queries had been run/ query name/ runtimes of each query.

Such a tool was RBE (Reverse Business Engineer) - which is out of support.
You can try to get that information from ST03. If that is not enough there's no other way than booking an SLO service to find out the queries that have not been used (http://service.sap.com/slo).

The general system requirements for Mountain Lion 10.8 are straightforward:
OS X v10.6.8 or later
2GB of memory
8GB of available space
Apple also lists which models WILL support Mountain Lion:
iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
Xserve (Early 2009)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
If you do Not meet the build date requirements above, there is nothing you can do to your iMac to make it compatible with ML, other than replace it with a newer one.
