  • HT201364 I have most of the requirements for mavericks, however, can I still upgrade to mavericks with 1GB of ram??

I was wondering If I can upgrade to Mavericks if I have MOST of the requirements available..... The only thing I need to do is upgrade the ram. I currently have 1GB of Ram
Or MUST I upgrade the ram???????

And check the Mavericks requirements again. A MacBook that shipped with only 1 Gig of RAM is probably too old for use with Mavericks. As I believe that all of the qualifying MacBooks shipped with a minimum of 2 Gigs RAM.
The minimum requirement for the MocBook is:
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
Note: It always helps to mention your exact Mac model when posting a question in the forums.

  • VAT Tax determination- question about "Requirement" for Table-Is mandatory?

    Hi everybody,
I am having problems to determine the appropriate VAT tax percent in some cases in Mexico.
In Mexico for billing at the border with other countries the VAT tax percent is 11% and for billing inside the country the VAT tax percent is 16%. For determine the VAT tax percent the sequence access is MWST and is assigned to the condition type MWST.  For cover the border cases we create a table 989 with the fields: Distribution Channel/Plant and VK11 is fill out with this information. With these parameters is possible to determine successfully the VAT percent of 11% at border sales point.
The problem that I have is related to the u201Crequirementu201D assigned to the table 989: Distribution Channel/Plant. This table has assigned a standard requirement number 7- Domestic Business and when billing to a customer with address of MX (Mexico) as LAND1 at general data section of customer master data, the VAT tax percent of 11% is obtained successfully, because all the fields of the table are filled. But when billing to a customer with address of US ( United States of America) as LAND1 at general data section of customer master data, is not possible to obtain the correct VAT tax percent of 11% even all the fields of the table are filled.
I do not know if the problem is the requirement number 7- Domestic Business, but if I change for the requirement 8- Export Business then the opposite is occurring. For US customers the VAT tax percent is determinate successfully and for MX customers not, because the fields of the u201Crequirement u201Care not filled.
    So, I am wondering if:
    1.     Would be necessary to create a new requirement for combine the 7- Domestic Business and 8- Export Business requirements or exist one like this? I do not need to conditioning anything
    2.     What happen if I left in blank the requirement field, I mean if I do not assign anything. I was doing testing for both customers and the VAT tax percent was determined correctly. But I do not know if is correct do not assign a u201Crequirementu201D to the table of the sequence of access MWST.
Thank you in advance for your help!

OK I think I understand but here is where I am at now. I originally created a regulation that requires a license when shipping to certain countries out of the EU. I set the regulation as an Export reg did all the necessary config and was able to assign licenses automatically where needed.
Has I was testing the solution I could not find sales docs or deliveries for some of the materials and finally found out they are being moved on NB PO's.
So I changed the reg to include imports etc., classified with import control class etc. but I am seeing a couple things that don't make sense and tells me my config isn't quite right.
I finally do see that the system at least recognizes the new legal reg in the screening now. before this it had not. But it is still telling me it can't find any relevant country.
The other thing the document itself only shows under Display Existing Export Documents even though in the log it says it's an import document and when I go to the Import log there is no data.
Before I realized there was a note to change the Import to export on transfer I assigned the PO types to export orders and I am thinking that's why they are showing in the export list but I woul have tought that it would say it's an export doc which it doesn't.
    Any ideas?

Call the online Apple Store. Though they don't list Leopard on the web site, they probably still have it for sale.

  • HT5570 Can any one let me know how to setup new security question answers required for purchases of which the previous answers been forgotten.

I am trying to do some purchases from my account balance of USD 50.00. But not able to do it as I have forgot the answers for security questions. Thus, I have been trying to setup new answers for that, but could not find any way to do so. Please help me on this.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions. To do this, click here and pick a method; if that page doesn't list one for your country or you're unable to call, fill out and submit this form.

  • I have a 2009 macbook air with 10.6.8 and over 20gb of memory left and also 2mb, aka all of the requirements for mavericks, i've tried every solution and yet mavericks will still not download? Somebody please help me.

Seriously bugging me and stressing me out - please help me out.

Check if your machine can accept it
    https://www.apple.com/osx/specs/
If you have TimeMachine, there is a hidden TM local file taking up the remaining space on the drive.
It's not counted on the size because it self scales as more of your user data is written to the drive.
Backup all your users files off the machine to a external storage drive (not TimeMachine as it will drastically change once Mavericks is installed) and phyically unmount/disonnect.
Next  Trash > Empty Trash the users files on the boot volume that you copied to the external drive.
Paste this into Terminal to turn off TimeMacine local backups and press enter, enter your admin password and press enter
    sudo tmutil disablelocal
(To re-enable it: sudo tmutil enablelocal)
then turn TimeMacine on/off and reboot the machine. Check your drive space now in Applications/Utilities > Activity Monitor.
Try the Mavericks upgrade again, check your machine specs (Apple menu > about this Mac > more info) for a model identifier and consult Apple's site if your machine can accept Mavericks.
    https://www.apple.com/osx/specs/
Mind you that 10.7-10.9 will NOT run your currently installed PowerPC based software.
Some of your older software may cease to function (Intel processors or not) because of the huge jump in OS X versions.
If your not currently under AppleCare, I would advise against a OS X upgrade as it can have issues with your hardware and the firmware can brick the machine.

  • The system requirements for Mavericks used years of production for the computer requirements.  Why can't they use the generational number system?

Office location where Mac Pro is located has a slow internet connection.  I downloaded Mavericks installer onto thumbdrive.  Attempted to install on a dual 3 core Xenon Mac Pro, model 2,1.  After a few hours, I figured out that the error message that was generated by the installer was telling me that my computer doesn't support Mavericks.  Do other people get confused with which generation of hardware is supported with software?  I understand the difference between PowerPC and Intel.  The tricky part is the difference between 32bit and 64bit with the EFI and the CPU instruction set.  Also, why can't they stick with a clear numbering system that is visible when you get info on the Mac?

If you are desperate you can use hackintosh tools to boot in 'legacy' mode which allows 10.9 to run on unsupported Macs. Chameleon bootloader & some google fu will get it running in an unsupported way (assuming your graphics card is supported).
I think Apple dug this hole when they told everyone that these were '64bit Macs'. Sadly if they don't support 32bit EFI in their new OS it's not going to work by default. In other discussions I have read that drivers need to be rewritten for actual 64bit support on a 32bit EFI.
I have run 10.8 on my 1,1 MP, but 10.6 was nicer, at some point I'll try 10.9 on it
P.S. http://mactracker.ca and http://www.everymac.com are handy for working out what model supports what features etc.

  • Question of Requirements for Servo Project (Beginner to Motion Control in NI)

    Hello,
I need to automate the rotation of an object while measuring the resistance/required torque and rotation angle. This should be achievable with a servo motor with torque feedback, if I've been informed correctly. I will then need to compare the torque vs. angle curves and produce some kind of output depending on that analysis.
I'd like to ask from those more experienced:
I have experience in LV so I would like to have that as the programming environment. What other components will I need to control a servo in this fashion (with feedback control and the ability to send a digital output dependant upon the results of my analysis)? Any recommendations?
    Thank you.

    Thanks for the response.
I see now. I didn't know this holds for servos as it does for DC motors.
    To reiterate:
In essence I need a system to do the following:
    1. When triggered by existing PLC system to "GO", begin.
    2. Actuate servo or stepper a certain # of revolutions, measure/calculate torque with T=KI proportionality.
    3. When revolutions finished, go back. Analyze Torque vs. angle curve.
    4. Depending on result of (3), either send PLC system "TRUE" or "FALSE".
That is essentially all. this system would fit between two stations of an existing PLC system. I want to program the servo or stepper control with LV.
However, I don't know where to begin. What would one need? Should I use a stepper or servo? In addition to the controller and servo/stepper, what else do I need?

  • Security question feature required for password reset

    Hi,
When ever SAP user forgets his password and he wants to reset his password, We need an option in logon screen to request the user to enter the answer for the security question and when he enters the correct answer, his ID should get reset and a new password should be mailed to his email id.
Appreciate your Ideas on this one.
    Thanks

    Wild solution...
    1) Create a New User ID, which will be used for Just resetting the password based on the security question. This ID will have a password which everybody will know.
This ID will have only few authorizations.
    2) Create a Custom Program which will take the User ID and the Question. Also some way of storing the Answer in some table (encrypted).
Based on the ID, the question of the user will be displayed. Based on the Input by the user, the answer will be checked.
    3) If the answer is correct, reset the password and send a mail to the user id of the user. (Solution for resetting the password needs some analysis) The custom table will store user id, question, answer and the email id to which the email has to be sent.
    Reward Points if useful.

The system (computer) requirements for Mavericks are posted on the web site. If your computer will handle it, you can update directly from OS X 10.7.

Hi, I have a refurbished upgraded macbook with 320 GB Disk, 4GB Memory and running Lion OS v 10.7.5.  This satisfies the second part of the requirement for installing OS X Mavericks (10.9) but happens to be an early 2008 piece.  Can I somehow install 10.9?  And why is apple not allowing people like me to try out this installation?  Any reason that are too technical that people like me cannot upgrade and handle?
This would solve many apps to run on this.

It's mainly the video card. The Models 2,1 through 4,1 have video cards with non-upgradeable 32bit drivers. The model 5,1 Late 2008 and newer have at least the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M with 64bit drivers. Mountain Lion and Mavericks require 64bit native drivers. Mountain Lion and Mavericks no longer support Intel's GMA 950 or GMA X3100 graphics processors.
While Lion used some 32 bit and a lot of 64 bit code, Mountain Lion and Mavericks are pure 64 bit, which excludes more systems than Lion did. It's not something you can add memory to, for example, as it involves the base architecture.

  • Questions on SETSPN syntax and what is required for MANUAL AD auth

I'll preface this by stating that I don't need to do all the extra stuff for Vintela SSO, SSO to database, etc.  I just need to know precisely what is necessary to do to get AD authentication working.  I managed to get it working in XIr2 previously but it's been so long and I'm not 100% sure that everything I wound up doing was absolutely necessary that I wanted to sort it out for good as we look at going to XI 3.1 SP3.
In the XI 3.1 SP3 admin guide, page 503, the SETSPN command which is
used as part of the setup process to establish a service account to
enable AD authentication is outlined as follows:
    SETSPN.exe -A <ServiceClass>/<DomainName> <Serviceaccount>
The guide suggests that the <ServiceClass> can be anything you want to
arbitrarily assign. If I choose something other than the
suggested "BOBJCentralMS" value, is there anywhere else I have to
specify this value to allow the service account to function properly?
The guide suggests that the <DomainName> should be the domain name on
which the service account exists however I've seen many posts online which seem to
indicate this <DomainName> should actually be the FQDN of the server
running the CMS service instead of the general domain name.
Clarification there would be very helpful if anyone has some insight.

The CMS account can have an SPN of spaghetti/meatballs, there are no requirements (cept 2 characters on each side of the / I believe). The SPN created should be the value entered in the CMC > Authentication > Windows AD
The account must run the SIA and it therefore must have AD permissions. Now if you are using IIs or client tools you don't even need an SPN. The SPN is for kerberos only which is required for java app servers.
The vintela SSO white paper in the this forums sticky post explains the roles of a service account.

    Tim

  • WHAT IS THE BEST ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE FOR OSX YOSEMITE?

WHAT IS THE BEST ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE FOR OSX YOSEMITE?

Here are some more thoughts to consider.
There will always be threats to your information security associated with using any Internet - connected communications tool:
You can mitigate those threats by following commonsense practices
Delegating that responsibility to software is an ineffective defense
Assuming that any product will protect you from those threats is a hazardous attitude that is likely to result in neglecting point #1 above.
OS X already includes everything it needs to protect itself from viruses and malware. Keep it that way with software updates from Apple.
A much better question is "how should I protect my Mac":
Never install any product that claims to "clean up", "speed up",  "optimize", "boost" or "accelerate" your Mac; to "wash" it, "tune" it, or to make it "shiny". Those claims are absurd.Such products are very aggressively marketed. They are all scams.
Never install pirated or "cracked" software, software obtained from dubious websites, or other questionable sources.
Illegally obtained software is almost certain to contain malware.
"Questionable sources" include but are not limited to spontaneously appearing web pages or popups, download hosting sites such as C net dot com, Softonic dot com, Soft pedia dot com, Download dot com, Mac Update dot com, or any other site whose revenue is primarily derived from junk product advertisements.
If you need to install software that isn't available from the Mac App Store, obtain it only from legitimate sources authorized by the software's developer.
Don’t supply your password in response to a popup window requesting it, unless you know what it is and the reason your credentials are required.
Don’t open email attachments from email addresses that you do not recognize, or click links contained in an email:
Most of these are scams that direct you to fraudulent sites that attempt to convince you to disclose personal information.
Such "phishing" attempts are the 21st century equivalent of a social exploit that has existed since the dawn of civilization. Don’t fall for it.
Apple will never ask you to reveal personal information in an email. If you receive an unexpected email from Apple saying your account will be closed unless you take immediate action, just ignore it. If your iCloud, iTunes, or App Store account becomes disabled for valid reasons, you will know when you try to buy something or log in to this support site, and are unable to.
Don’t install browser extensions unless you understand their purpose. Go to the Safari menu > Preferences > Extensions. If you see any extensions that you do not recognize or understand, simply click the Uninstall button and they will be gone.
Don’t install Java unless you are certain that you need it:
Java, a non-Apple product, is a potential vector for malware. If you are required to use Java, be mindful of that possibility.
Java can be disabled in System Preferences.
Despite its name JavaScript is unrelated to Java. No malware can infect your Mac through JavaScript. It’s OK to leave it enabled.
Beware spontaneous popups: Safari menu > Preferences > Security > check "Block popup windows".
Popup windows are useful and required for some websites, but unsolicited popups are commonly used to deceive people into installing unwanted software they would never intentionally install.
Popups themselves cannot infect your Mac, but many contain resource-hungry code that will slow down Internet browsing.
If you ever receive a popup window indicating that your Mac is infected with some ick or that you won some prize, it is 100% fraudulent. Ignore it.
The same goes for a spontaneously appearing dialog insisting that you upgrade your video player right this instant. Such popups are frequently associated with sites that promise to deliver movies or other copyrighted content that is not normally "free".
The more insistent it is that you upgrade or install something, the more likely it is to be a scam. Close the window or tab and forget it.
Ignore hyperventilating popular media outlets that thrive by promoting fear and discord with entertainment products arrogantly presented as "news". Learn what real threats actually exist and how to arm yourself against them:
The most serious threat to your data security is phishing. Most of these attempts are pathetic and are easily recognized, but that hasn't stopped prominent public figures from recently succumbing to this age-old scam.
OS X viruses do not exist, but intentionally malicious or poorly written code, created by either nefarious or inept individuals, is nothing new.
Never install something without first knowing what it is, what it does, how it works, and how to get rid of it when you don’t want it any more.
If you elect to use "anti-virus" software, familiarize yourself with its limitations and potential to cause adverse effects, and apply the principle immediately preceding this one.
Most such utilities will only slow down and destabilize your Mac while they look for viruses that do not exist, conveying no benefit whatsoever - other than to make you "feel good" about security, when you should actually be exercising sound judgment, derived from accurate knowledge, based on verifiable facts.
Do install updates from Apple as they become available. No one knows more about Macs and how to protect them than the company that builds them.
Summary: Use common sense and caution when you use your Mac, just like you would in any social context. There is no product, utility, or magic talisman that can protect you from all the evils of mankind.
