1) Where all Routes are used
Routes are basically used for Transportation module. The Route basically helps us to determine the Freight rates which will be applicable for a particular material. But you can define the Route in the IMG nodes present in Sales and Distribution, Logistics Execution. In Documents, Route is determined in the itemlevel of the Sales Documents but at the Header level of the Delivery Document and the Shipment Document.
2)What are the impact of Change in Route
As I said before the Change of Route may affect the Freight rates or the No. of days required to deliver the goods at the Customers place. The Route is more significant at the Delivery Document rather than in the Sales Document, since the Shipment Document is based on the Delivery document and the Vendor payment (Transporter) also depends on that.
3)What all things are dependent on Route
I would rather explain the data required for the Determination of the route by the system.
The system uses the following data to determine the route for the order:
-Country and transportation zone of the shipping point (departure zone)
-Shipping condition
-Transportation group of the material
-Country and transportation zone of the ship-to party
As far as I know the Route basically is used only for the freight charges determination.

Question about router WRT54 GL

Good afternoon, I have following problem/question about router: WRT54GL.
I configured the router to operate in my network without any problems except for the following:
When I made tests of speed on computer which is connected directly to the cable from my ISP (ethernet, speed 64 mbit /s during download). When I connected the cable from ISP to the router and router is connected to the PC also using ethernet(from router port 1 to the pc) the speed behind a router decreased to 20 mbit. What I am doing wrong? or is it just a limitation in router's performance?

Open the setup page of the router.
Set the MTU to Manual and change the size to 1365.
Save the settings and power cycle the router. Check the speed.
Make sure that firmware on your router is latest.

Basic Design Question - Firewall Router segment

I'm at a new place and have to re-do the current lan. Small office, 80-100 users. Existing setup is flat network, no QoS, no VLANs. I have already replaced an older PIX with a new ASA (5525x) and added a DMZ.
I am currently trying to draw up a proposed design which currently will be single firewall, multiple VLans(user, server, voice, guest). My question is regarding the link between core router(L3 switch, whatever) and firewall.   I'm thinking the correct setup is to have a seperate /30 subnet on the interfaces between the firewall and router as below, and then router will just have a default route of 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.1.100.2     Is this correct?
Internet-------Firewall-(10.1.100.2/30)----------------------------(10.1.100.1/30) --Router ----(10.1.1.1/24, 10.1.2.1/24, 10.1.3.1/24, etc)

Your design is good. But as for the subnet between the core (router or L3 switch - switch preffered) and edge FW, i suggest something a little larger than a /30. Like a /28. You may want to add a standby FW in a few months or years, or a new WAN connection to that 'demarc' subnet' at some point. It's good practice to leave some romo for growth. Even if you dont forsee it right now.

Question on router connecting extender with auto config and upgrading firmware

Hello I have a question regarding my linsys 160n and my wre54g extender. I am going to reset my linsys 160n with dd-wrt on it to the factory defaults, then set it up but leaving the security disabled to then setup my linsys wre54g extender since it has the auto configuration option. Once i have this completed would i be able to then enable the security on the router and the extender?
Also, just noticed that when i flashed the firmware from original to the dd-wrt i did not reset the router or reset to defaults before i upgraded the firmware to dd-wrt. Will this have issues for me? I thought i read you are supposed to reset or set to factory defaults before flashing firmware to dd-wrt

The best way to configure your WRE with your Routers Secured Wireless Network... Once you secured your Wireless Network on your Router..... Connect the WRE to the Router using an Ethernet Cable.
Hardwired anyone of your computer to the Router.... Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop).In the address bar type - 192.168.1.240 and press Enter...Leave Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
Once you login to the WRE setup page, you need to match the Wireless Settings which you have input on your Router... Once you configure all the settings on WRE... then unplug the Ethernet Cable from WRE and then unplug the Power from WRE.... Wait for 30sec and then re-connect the Power to WRE. One both the Lights are Blue on WRE, these means your WRE is configured properly and ready to use.

Questions re: "router not supported"....and other questions

I bought the WRT54G v. 2.0 several years ago and never had issues with it until I started messing with it. I have 3 laptops (1 hardwired, 2 wireless) and a wireless tivo working with this router. My biggest issue is the laptop and tivo in the living room are only getting a very weak signal. I was trying to fix that when i noticed my router was not "secure". I don't have any linksys software on the host computer. It was on another computer that died 2 years ago, but everything worked fine when I plugged everything in. The router is currently doing its job except I want it to be secure and have a stronger signal. I downloaded the Linksys EasyLink Advisor and tried to secure it from there but keeps saying "Router not supported". It says its too old or not a linksys product (which it obviously is). I then upgraded my firmware to the newest version and then tried to secure it with the web setup. I did that but linksys support instructions tell me to click on a linksys icon and set it up using the software that came with the router. I don't have that software on my computer. I do have the disc, but when I try to set it up, the disc tells me I'm already running a router and that I should exit the setup.
My question is this: How do I secure my network and get a stronger signal to my tivo and laptop in the living room?

You would need a hardwired PC for this job so that every change you make and do will not kick you off the wireless network. On your hardwired PC log in to the router set-up page. To do this, open up internet explorer and type on the address bar the numbers 192.168.1.1 (username just leave it blank, password as a default is admin)...
Then go to the wireless tab and edit the following settings:
SSID - this is going to be the name of your wireless network, just give it whatever you name you would want to give it.
Channel - suggested value is "11"
Then to secure your wireless network go to the Wireless Security Subtab and set your security mode to WEP... and input your phone number on key 1. (include the area code)... then save the settings.
After this process, your router should now be secured with your own phone number as the Security WEP key.

Question about router

Hi,
I have an old route- A linksys 80211b. I have had it for probably about 4 years. I have 2 computers networked via hard wire and a wireless print server.
I often have a problem with my internet connection. I have a fast cable connection.
But I will go to safari and a page starts to load ans then stops in the middle. I then need to hit refresh a few times to get the page loaded. First I thought it was my computer, but realized that the it does this on both my macs. By the way it does not do it on my PC.
I went to compusa today and they suggested that I get a new router. they had me buy a dlink 108G mimo. They felt this would solve the problem,
I did not even open the box yet but wondering if everyone else out there agrees it is time to upgrade my router and this may be a soloution to the problem.
Part 2 of my question is will the dlink connect to my linksys 80211.g print server?
Any insight would be great.

I don't think it's the Router... might be of course, you could tell by hooking one computer directly to the Modem.

Question about router connections

Does a wireless router need to be connected to an external modem? My modem is essentially a card in a box on the outside of my house, so connecting to it, other than through a wall outlet, is pretty much out of the question.
My connection goes from wall outlet directly to the ethernet port on my pc...am I even able to connect a wireless router?

The wire that runs from your modem outside, to the outlet on your wall, apparently allows you to connect directly to your modem.
Probably you can simply run a wire from your wall outlet to a wireless router. However, before investing in a wireless router, I would suggest that you verify that this setup will work with your ISP (internet service provider). Also, check your ISP's web site. They have probably already posted directions on how to set up wireless with their system.

IP Configuration question: Cablemodem/Router connected to TC

I need a bit of help please in configuring my internet connection.
My setup is:
Internet - cable modem with wifi router - Apple TC - (bridged to) Apple Airport Express
Details on current setup:
Cable Modem: Set up as DHCP router (wifi enabled for guests)
Apple TC: Set up as "OFF/Bridge via Ethernet" and DHCP (wifi enabled for my own wifi clients at home)
Potential Problem:
I want to avoid DHCP IP address issues with clients such as the PS3 for online gaming.
Questions:
a)
Is the setup correct this way? i.e. in this mode: does the TC simply "pass through" the IP adresses to its clients that the cable modem determines for the clients of the TC wifi network?
b)
Or is it more sensible to set up the TC as an own wifi network with own subnet, and then set up static routing in the cable modem to allow the TC network clients to access the internet via ethernet connection between the cable modem and the TC?
If the answer is a), then all is well I suppose.
However if the answer is b), please could someone give me exact instructions as to how to set up an own network with own subnet as DHCP within TC?

Yes, if the TC is in Bridge Mode.

You could do this...IF...the modem/router has the ability to setup what is known generally as a "DMZ" for the Time Capsule.
It is a lot more complicated to do things this way, so if a) works....and it should....that might be the way to go unless you have some special requirements for the Time Capsule that are not mentioned in your post.

Question about router versions

I am getting the family a new Imac for christmas. I currently have a 802.11b linksys router and DSL.
Is there any reason to "upgrade" the router to G, N ?

The maximum data rate for 802.11b is 11 MBPS, 802.11g is 54 MBPS and 802.11n is 100 MBPS. If you're going to be sharing files with other computers on your LAN or streaming multimedia files, then the faster the better. Otherwise, if you're not doing file sharing or streaming and your Internet line is below 11 MBPS, you probably won't need the extra speed.

Noob question about router IP on SDM Worksheet...

The SDM Worksheet says,
L6A
Router IP Address
Copy the subnet in field L1A to field L6A.
If L1A has subnet field of 192.168.10.0, then these instructions make the router address 192.168.10.0.
I thought the first IP on the subnet was the default IP for the router, eg 192.168.0.1

I am as baffled as you are looking at the link you provided. If you used the example they give then all interface IPs would end up being the subnet address which is clearly wrong and more importantly would not work.
In terms of the addressing to use it is common to allocate static IPs from the start of the subnet as you say, athough this is just convention ie. any IP from the subnet could be used.
So unless we are both missing something obvious i would just ignore what the sheet is saying and do as you suggest in terms of allocation.

Naive question about router

Hi, all,
First, I'm definitely a beginer in network field, I don't know much about routers.
Recently, I got a CISCO2610XM router. I tried to use it to set up a LAN and connect the LAN to the network.
However, I found the router only have one FastEthernet0/0 port, and other two ports are console and aux (which I think are used to configure the router, am I right?).
Do I need extra network module (card) to connect to the LAN? And what card should I choose?
The figure I planed for my LAN is:

I did not realized you had in mind ISP , this changes things, but lets assume you'll have a static IP for ISP_INternet connection , I'll see if can get a chance to lab this out ,this is a quick setup but you still need to configure some security ACLs.

For the Squid server say you have a spare public IP of 2.2.2.2 and Squid local IP is 192.168.2.254 you can create a static NAT on 2610XM router as:

in addition to access list to allow inbound access through public IP.

Networking question about routing...

I have the folowing problem:
I want to go www.mydomain.com from my internal network... but somehow it does not work.
my configuration:
I have my server on local LAN with IP 10.0.0.1, my router has the 10.0.0.1 under DMZ. If I acces myserver.local works if I acces mydomain.com it does not work.
myserver.local resolves to 10.0.0.1
mydomain.com resolves to 194.xxx.xxx.xxx the IP that is configuret on the router.
also from outside the LAN when I go to mydomain.com it works.
Any ideeas where my packeges get stuck?

The answer is perfect. It is possible to use any field FML or FML32 for routing, but for FML the maximum number limit is 8191.

Specifies the name of the routing field. It must be 30 characters or less. Two environment variables, FLDTBLDIR and FIELDTBLS or FLDTBLDIR32 and FIELDTBLS32, are used to locate FML field tables. Question for Routing Sound

Alright, I have done several searches on the internet and I'm unclear how to use soundflower. But I honestly don't know if soundflower can do this for me. I have these JBL speakers that I plug into my computer to listen to some jams. When that happens, it disengages the speakers on my laptop. I want a program that allows me to output any type of audio to my JBLs but then have some other audio go to my laptop's speakers. Like if I listen to iTunes on my JBLs, I want to hear my friend's voice on Skype on my laptop's speakers, not the JBLs.

calendar to the specific master data, such as the 'unloading points' assigned to the customer master record.Examples of general data in the customer master record would be like: Address, Control data, Marketing, Payment transactions, Contact person, and "Unloading
points".
2)I think you mean route determination procedure here. this can be based on weight group/or without, both for delivery and /or order etc.so for example,something weighing more than 30 kilos takes a different route than the same good < 30 Kg.
3)This is used in sales reporting. You can assign statistics groups to each of the following: item category, sales document type,customer material, shipment type, and "transportation service agent"

Question on router vulnerability fix

Hi,
There aren't patches that you install on the routers. The only thing that you could do would be to either update the IOS to one of the later versions, or you could disable the services that are affected by these vulnerabilities.
