Questions re 2 ITunes accounts on the same computer

Daughter #1 has and I Pod touch linked to a desktop PC with her I tunes library. Daughter #2 has an I Pod touch and would like to have her own I tunes library.  Can I have 2 different I tunes libraries on the same computer?   Each daughter has their own user name on the PC.
I would be grateful for any assistance.
Thanks

When I go to Daughter #2s "user account" and click on the I Tunes icon,  a I tunes page comes up and then it just seems to lock up.
Any ideas?

I have an iPhone tied to one computer.  I have a second iPhone that I need to use the same computer to be able to back it's data up.  Do I need to create a 2nd iTunes account on the same computer?  If so, how do i do this?  Thanks.

No, creating a 2nd iTunes account is not necessary.

  • Multiple iTunes Accounts on the Same Computer

iTunes states that you can have multiple iTunes accounts on the same computer. But when I attempt to put in a new user account (for my wife so she can have her own music library) my own iTunes account pops up when I go to load iTunes while in her user account. And if I create any account that is NOT an 'Admistrator' account iTunes refuses to install itself as the "user does not have the privileges - consult your Administrator". So I am lost as to what I need to do to create separate iTunes accounts where each person has their own iTunes library and thus their own music. Perplexed...

Can you have two itunes accounts on the same computer and if so how do you access them without syncing each others music?

Yes. Use separate iTunes libraries(launch iTunes with the Shift(Windows) or Option(Mac OS X) key held down as needed), or different user accounts on the computer.

How can I have another Itunes account on the same computer for my wife?

In case you didn't fully understand what dallon meant, it means another user account on your computer. You set that up in Windows and then instal iTunes onto that account.
That way, you each have your own desktop and your own itunes. You can link to the songs in the other person's library as well, but you cannot run both iTunes at the same time. (That simply means you need to close it on the first account before opening it on the second account.)

how can you have 2 different itunes accounts on the same computer?

You would need two seperate users on the computer. Then each library would be independent of each other. Or do you mean two seperate iTunes store accounts?

This really isnt good. there isnt even a .tmp file on my pc.
Did you enable the display of system files and hidden files and folders?
by the way, how can i stop this from happening another time.
    Make a backup!
i had music there for over 6 years.
Well you must have updated iTunes once or twice in that time. Do you have some sort of "tidying" app that is supposed to clean "unnecessary" files. If so perhaps it is too aggressive.

can you have 2 itunes account on the same computer?

Yes, go to your Windows Control Panel and create another user, log into it, run iTunes and it's ready to rock and roll.
Transfer your content over via USB Key, Dropbox or external drive.
Heck the best thing would be to File > Backup library to disk with a bunch of DVD-R's, therefore you get a backup in the process!
    Good Luck

What do you mean by, "synch two itunes accounts"? You don't sync iTunes accounts.
WHat are yoru trying to accomplish?
iTunes account= Used to make iTunes purchases.
iTunes library = All your media and what you see when you open iTunes.

    M Parker,
Yes, since you are trying to keep things separate, that is exactly what you would do.
