Quick Clusters not working in Compressor 4.0.5

OK. One day Compressor is working with a quick cluster set up and today it's not. All the settings are correct in QMaster and everything seems to be the same BUT Compressor 4.0.5 is not recognizing any cluster set up. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is it a 10.8.2 issue? All input is welcomed.

The Require these Services box should be unchecked, but I doubt that's your problem. Funnily enough I lost my QC last week. What worked for me was running Compressor Repair twice – quitting– each time trashing preferences – and repairing permissions in Disk Utility after each repair.
If that doesn't work, I'd reinstall (and repair permissions once again).

Quick Print not working after upgrading to Reader XI on Citrix

Hi,
I've upgraded from Reader 9.2 to 11.0 on our Citrix farm.
After the upgrade the Quick Print function in Outlook 2010 is not working anymore for PDF files. (other files are working fine)
Also, the RightClick --> Print on PDF files in Windows Explorer gives an open-with prompt. (other files are working fine)
Even if I choose Adobe Reader and chech the box "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file", the open-with prompt re-appears the next time I rightclick and choose print.
If I DoubleClick PDF files in Windows Explorer or in Outlook e-mail attachments, Reader opens as it should.
I've also tried to install the latest 11.4 update, without any luck.
The same installation sources were used on several local workstation, where everything is working fine after the upgrade.

It's definitely a Lion's issue as I rolled back to Snow Leopard after struggling with the card reader and surprise....all my cards can be seen again and my MacBook early 2010 works perfectly. Just as it was working before I purchased Lion. What to do? Well I guess there is only one way to fix the problem. We should demand from Apple to debug Lion from this and many other errors in the code. Overall I am not very impressed with my first Lion encounter and will stay on Snow Leopard untill people would be able at least to use the MacBook hardware properly under any Lion built. I have also had so many other issues with Lion that it may take a few hours to list and it's not a purpose of my visit of this thread. Cheers to all and stay cool.

Quick View not working in Finder

Quick View in Finder is not working for me. Whether I right click on an item in Finder (Word doc, pdf) or press the Space Bar, it is not working. I restarted the computer and have closed and reopened the Finder windows to no avail.
Anybody else having this problem on their MBA?
Don't know if it's pertinent, but I have had my MBA 13" for about two weeks, and I used Migration Assistant to transfer all of my stuff from a 15" MBP.

A workaround has been posted on the SugarSync forum here:

In Finder, go to the Applications folder, Right click (or Ctrl click) on SugarSync Manager application
Select Show Package Contents
In the new Finder window that opens, go to Contents/Plugins and delete SugarSyncCMPlugin.cocoa.plugin.
After deleting these files, just restart Finder (or log out and log back in to your computer)
Note: by deleting the plug-in you are disabling Finder extensions completely. You will lose overlay icons and context menus untill we fix the problem. We apologize for the inconvenience and will get an update out as soon as possible.

Quick time is not working in safari after downloading flip4mac. How do I get quick time to work within safari? It was working prior to flip4mac being installed but I need flip4mac for some websites.

Make sure the first two boxes are checked. Check the 3rd box if you want the QT controller to be displayed.

Galaxy Note 2 Quick Commands Not Working

I've had the Note a couple days now, but for the first time tried quick command. Low and behold, it's not working. I can write, but eventually it just closes before even recognizing the command. I've had no success with any of the stock commands.
I have tried clearing quick commands data in Application Settings as well as creating a new command. Even when I try creating a command it will not let me even select "Done."
I also tried a factory reset this afternoon. Same problem. I've watched several YouTube's so it's not a user error on how to do it. Any help?
All other S Pen functions work. Anything else I should try? Should I call Verizon CS?

UPDATE:
Wednesday: I stopped in a local Verizon kiosk at my mall and tried the quick commands on another Note. Worked perfectly. They said I'd have to call Customer Service to get a replacement. (Note: The employee didn't even know about the feature!) So I called Verizon (*611) and spoke with a "head tech" (whatever that means). He had no idea what was going on esp. given the factory reset I tried. He said the only option was to get a new device or try a different Gmail account (which I really don't want to move my stuff to a new one). Because the Note is an "iconic" device, they wouldn't ship me one unless I prepaid for it (then would be reimbursed when they received my "defective" phone. So I planned to pick up a new one on Thursday.
Thursday: I picked up a new one. After logging into my Gmail account during activation, I tried QC again...still no go. The employee there again had no idea about the feature, but suggested maybe I ought to try a different Gmail account. I said I would later (I had another appointment). So later, I skipped adding my Gmail account (after doing a factory reset) and BAM...Quick Commands worked! But what about my Gmail account....I added it after activation, and BAM-quick commands doesn't work again. THUS THE PROBLEM LIES WITH MY GMAIL ACCOUNT.
Well it's gotten murkier folks...I did yet another factory reset. This time, I tried a different gmail account that has 2 step authentication as well. Guess what? Quick commands worked. So I tried adding my regular gmail (the one giving me fits)-and lo and behold, quick commands stopped working. What would cause this specific gmail account to make quick commands stop working? I've chatted with Samsung (online) and they have no idea. They want me to call voice support. I may tomorrow morning. THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY! Also Sammy tried to say that email is not required for quick commands to work (duh). But I've eliminated options and it certainly is a specific email account causing problems. There's another gentlemen on XDA with the same issue as well.

MPEG-4 will not work with Compressor 3/FCP, but will with iDVD/iMovie???

I can import to iMovie and iDVD, but not with FCP/Compressor?
I just burn a movie (MPEG-4) with iDVD, it took a LONG-LONG time, but it worked.
With DVDSP and FCP, I have to open the movie in QT export to DV file, import to FCP - adjust, MANUALLY, within FCP for correct aspect ratio, render, and export to compressor. This is really complicated via the PRO Apps....isn't it?

Wait... so you're trying to burn an MPEG-4 with DVDSP? Why not just import to Compressor, change the ratio there, export to MPEG2, and bring that into DVDSP? I don't get why you're exporting to a DV file or whatever. When you drop an MPEG4 into iDVD it's really just doing the MPEG4>MPEG2 conversion automatically.

Music quick access not working

Apologies if this has been raised before, I had a quick look and couldn't find it.
I have an iPhone 4s and updated (begrudgingly) to IOS6 at the weekend.
I frequently use my iPhone at work for music. From standby I normally double press the home button and it brings up the play/pause menu for my music, from there I can control the current playlist. This still comes up but doesn't work anymore. Similarly if I'm in the quick access menu at the bottom of my phone and scroll left I get access to the music controls, but again these are not working. The only way to play/pause my music is from within the music app.
Does anyone know if this is a known issue with IOS6 or something I should investigate further?

I found a solution by accident, my phone battery died, when I charged it and turned it back on the quick access suddenly worked. The issue reoccurs every now and then, usually when I've rebooted my phone for whatever reason but another reboot always fixes it.

Illustractor CC quick keys not working

I installed Adobe Illustrator CC over the weekend and all of my quick keys do not work. I've tried restarting the computer and not having Firefox or any browser running. Is there a fix to this problem? The quick keys I'm referring to would be (V) to access the Selection Tool or (P) for the Pen Tool etc. None of them are working. It's very frustrating and drastically slowing me down. Would it help or fix if I uninstalled and then reinstalled? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

TS3479 quick time not working after snow leopard install?

Made video's on my iphone and loaded them to my imac. Video did not work in iphoto. No Quick time pop up. what happened? Snow leopard install.

You need to re-install iPhoto because it's missing bits of itself:
Library not loaded...
Reason: no suitable image found.
Looking at the missing files it's possible that it's missing from the OS. But start with re-installing iPhoto, and if that fails you'll ned to re-install the OS.
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2. Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only...’

Random thumbnail problem +quick fixes not working on others.

I have system 10.6.8,Iphoto '11 9.2.3(IMAC).Some thumbnails in "photos"(under library on left of screen)are blank but when double click them they open,briefly show ! and then open and edit ok.Shot pictures the other day in JPEG+RAW and random JPEGS will not edit with quick fixes(crop etc)and some will.All RAW seem to work ok.Pix downloaded from 3 camera cards.I rebuilt Iphoto library checking the first 3 boxes.Also some photos (JPEGS)from various dates display the ! when double clicked.Any help would be much appreciated.

Addendum-All raw do not work ok.Some will not let me edit major fixes such as cropping and go out of focus when edit is selected and remain there until double click them out of edit.

Type to selection tool quick command not working in InDesign CC

When I have the type tool selected in InDesign and hold command for the selection tool, it's not working. When I hold the command button it highlights the selection tool, but as soon as I click my mouse, it reverts back to the type tool. Also, when I change the size of my text box it does not resize the text in the box, even if I hold for a a few sec before moving the cursor.

@Cindy – usually all 3rd party developers will provide some information for installing and uninstalling their products. First see if you can find some information on their web sites.
Also there should be a dedicated Adobe Extension Manager app where you can look up the installed parts of InDesign. Since I do not have InDesign CC installed, I do not know exactly, but its name should be something like "Adobe Extension Manager CC".
If you start this app it will show all parts installed with InDesign (or other apps that are installed).
Usually at the bottom of the list are the 3rd party installed components. They do not state "Adobe Incoroprate System" as author. Never uninstall (remove) the Adobe ones!

If you select one, a new option is available at the right. In my case here the "Entfernen" button ("Remove" in English).

Quick Install not working on Vista - how can I transfer pdb files to/from my Zire 31?

I have been using Hot Sync to transfer contacts, calendar etc, but am unable to transfer my database files (pdb format) to/from my Zire 31, as the QuickInstall program does not work with Vista, and I am not aware of any other method of transferring these files.
Can anyone help?

Oops, sorry for the bad link (the must have changed it). For some reason, I can't create a valid link to the article...grr. But you can also get to it by entering Solution ID # 43851 at the bottom of the Palm Knowledgebase.
To move the file from the card to your Zire's memory, use the Copy function in the main Menu. That is, insert the card. Open the menu from the main Launcher (home) screen. Select Copy, and you should be able to select the card as the source.

Quick swipe not working on grouped tracks

I've grouped two tracks together and in the group settings box I've checked 'Edit'. However when I swipe one track the other doesn't mirror it. I've always done this with drum tracks but can't figure why it's suddenly not working.

I haven't had this happen in a while, but Logic's group feature used to work intermittently for me at times.
If you haven't already, set up a key command for "group clutch". This will allow you to turn the grouping feature on and off. Try toggling it on and off a few times. That used to "wake it up" for me, when abnormalities like what you're experiencing occurred.
You could also literally disable the groups on those tracks, and then re-enable them, or assign them to a different group altogether.
I found the above solutions to always fix the weirdness when it happened. See if that helps...

Outlook 2013 Quick Print not working for HTML attachments.

I have to print multiple orders that are received as attached HTML files (Sometimes 20+ attachments). In Outlook 2007 (On XP) this worked fine I could print the email with attachments and everything would be waiting for me in the printer.
I just got a new computer running windows 7 and Outlook 2013 and I can no longer print the attachments.
I printed through File, Print, Printer Options, Print Attached Files - Email prints, no attachments.
I tested with an attached DOCX and PDF - Both print the email and attachment.
Quick Print HTML attachment - Nothing Prints.
Open Attachment in Internet Explorer - Prints fine.
Changed Default Program for HTML files to Firefox and tested quick Print - Nothing Prints
Changed Default Program for HTML files to Word and test quick Print - Prompts for program to use when opening (for every attachment), I choose Word, it opens but does not print.
I've been searching for anything else to try but I'm running out of ideas Any help would be appreciated!

To resolved this issue i tried below trouble shooting:
1) Repair MS office 2013
2)Uninstall and install office 2013
3)Rename the Outlprnt file to Outlprnt old from C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook\
4) 2 times Re install printer drivers
5) Creat new outlook profile
if you Unable to print from Outlook 2013 without receiving the "Printer not ready" message (32/64 Win 7 Pro).
This changed worked for us, by selecting the Advanced properties on the printer and changing the default setting "Start printing immediately" to "Start printing after last page spooled".
